I understand you might be in a hurry.. but please use Google or search the forums before asking questions like this.
Also, if you have questions or need help, post in "Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting".
Google Search (Videos available)
XDA: THE ODIN THREAD :: Return to stock
Take care in the procedures and be sure to double check that you're fully back to stock before exchanging the phone.
I only responded to this because the white S4 is sexy.

Thanks for the headsup!
What if i went to tmo store and try to exchange the phone without unrooting? If just restore factory set will they gonna noticed it?

Use Triangle Away to reset binary flash status,
when it asks to return to download mode or reboot normally select download mode.
Plug into computer and flash the official Stock Odin file mentioned in above link and perform a factory reset once finished by booting to stock recovery.

I returned my phone rooted within the 14 days to exchange for a new one. Do you all think there could be any negative repercussions such as them making me pay full price for the new one once they find the "defective" one was rooted? I was a bit worried at the store but the took it back no questions asked.

I don't think there will be a problem... if they already exchanged it you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Lol..no one checks if your phone is rooted or not. As long as it is switching on and working properly, you are good.

YOU CAN RETURN ROOTED IN THEORY !
Ive returned rooted phones numerous times,I did with my s4 got it First, then went and got a HTC one didn't like it so went back 3 day later they gave me my same rooted s4 I exchanged to them 3 days prior.... and I gave them the Rooted htc one lol.... them sales reps, dont check or care.ONLY unless you get a sales rep whos a xda member and tech savy, he may check just to be curious.
When you factory reset it just leave phone NOT setup.
Usually they open the box to do a reset but u tell them u already did, as they will see its on the out of the box setup screen.
Not to mention if u do reset and setup before u return it, just hit menu hide apps/hide super user
If they boot into recovery theyll know but reps never do that not on a return or exchange. They just wana get u in and out, not like they are techs. And all they do is put it in return inventory to ship back as a NOW parts phone for refurbs.

youll be fine they toss them phones into a pile and ship back and they become refurbs samsung cleans them up and flashes firmware and sells as a refurb.
They cannot be tracked to you. Once its past your hands into the tmobile stores hands and u leave free and clear , it was the stores job to catch or deny you a return.Never would come back to haunt you, if did just say your clueless , store checked phone and accepted it.

Yeah OP since you are only exchanging for a different color, i don't think they will mind. Its usually for warranty purposes that root matters cause in theory you can change your kernel which could do damage to your device. So you should be fine.

i think i bricked my epic 4g touch. i had ics fb21 on it and i tried to restore a gingerbread rom back onto it via cwm and something went terribly wrong. i tried all the steps in qbking77s youtube video about unbricking/unrooting. my phone successfully went through the steps but when it reboots it just boot loops. when i try to boot into recovery it continues to bootloop. download mode is still available? any suggestions? thanks in advanced
Have you tried putting it into download mode and then using one of the one click restores via odin? If its bootlooping, your not at a total loss

you can take to sprint and they may replace but who knows they may turn you away

Sent from my Nexus S 4G using xda premium
I believe a few people have said it already. But don't use from manager to flash recoveries. Especially the touch one. You will brick your phone and can't fix it. Only a JTAG service would fix it or a replacement by sprint. Either way good luck and read up on stuff before you try it out.

OH Shix, Dang Dawg, I didn't know there was a such thing as a soft/full brick! I am lucky, I was using mobile odin and flashed the md5 check instead of the tar for fb21 modem and my phone was acting very similar but I just flashed the ONE CLICK EL29 and I was back to stock. hope if you havent tried that, you do and it works for you. I didn't like the touch cwm. but now I am deleting it from sdcard so i dont mistakenly soft/full brick my device. Keep us updated!
UPDATE
UPDATE
after using odin to unroot/unbrick my epic4gt and having still it fail to turn on passed the boot screen, i took my busted phone back to sprint on monday. told them what the problem was, "my phone wont go passed the first screen when i turn it on". they said "ok, we'll just erase everything off, should be as good as new".
i stood around waiting for about 45 minutes, i was so bored i even shamefully sent out a tweet from an iphone..smh. sales associate then came back to me saying," ive never seen anything like this, nothing will work on it, you must have rooted this phone?" my response was "i have done nothing to that phone".
with a kinda upset smirk on his face he says, "it had to be rooted buuuuut since we have no proof we will order you a phone for free, come pick it up friday."
life has been so tough w/out my epic for a whole week, happy that i get my new one on friday
You know...
I'm starting to wonder how I feel about ppl that brick their phones, through fault of their Own, then take them into sprint claiming the "update broke it!", "i never rooted that! i have No Idea what you're talking about!", and I wonder if this is going to make it harder for people with Legitimate issues to get replacements, and affect the way Sprint looks at rooting our phones in general. This Affects Their Bottom Line.

although it doesnt say this when unlocking the phone, it does however say in their warranty statement that the warranty is still intact for problems not caused by unlocking the bootloader. feel free to check it out..
not to say you won't have to argue with them to get a free repair, but if you persisted you should be able to get it
i had to wait until couple of days ago to root (had hox since launch) as i've been waiting to get the phone actually fixed first from wifi issues etc so hopefully won't actually need the warranty now.. and IF the worst happened and there was no way i could get htc to repair without conning me, then vodafone would repair themselves under the seller warranty. failing all of that, then i could just claim on insurance i guess. but to be honest htc would probably end up reparing anyways.

yeah or unrepaired, took me 4 months and 6 different hoxs and 2 failed repair jobs, then the final repair job which finally sorted everything
shouldn't be this bad, but its the companies htc are contracting out to do this, not htc to be fair. htc should fire em and use someone else.
anyway, although you shouldn't have to, just persist with them, if they send it back in worse condition, then send it back to them again and again until they get it right.
most recent repair job for me, they had it for 2 days, and repaired several issues, both times before when i sent it to them, they had it for longer, and only reflashed software, so maybe over last couple of months they've sorted their procedures or somethign...
Are you having issue's in Europe or the USA returning your HOX ?

Just wanted to shed some positive info since it is most likely the case that only negativity is more ominous than positive results.
In my case I unlocked my phone, rooted , a week later I realised I have a WiFi issue. Couldn't help but think damn I'm screwed. Sent in my phone rooted with supersu and a custom ROM (ADHD) at that time, got my phone fully functional after two weeks. No warranty lost and all good and well. Not saying your experience will be the same. But up to you I'm the long run. I love taking risks .. part of my personality

I was so excited to root the phone and didn't even spend time to read. I went to find your device and typed in samsung galaxy sIII, then it pointed me to the i9300 section.
I found the rom there, then flashed it. After that it's too late.
About the tmo exchange, should i bring it in the store or call them?
I bought this from the local CL seller, What kind of info do i need to prove it's my phone?
I have never done this before. I just need to get prepare see if I can get it thru, thank you

Wait... what did T-Mobile say? What did you tell them? Never tell them the truth. I know this is frowned upon, but whatever.
Never say you got the phone off craigslist. Be firm that it's your phone. Most likely warranty isn't verified on your account because you didn't activate the phone with your SIM initially... since it is off CL..
Most importantly, be nice to the reps, if you put them in a good mood they will try to help you. They pushed through an exchange for me before.

Yea what did you tell tmobile? Jtag fix is 60 bucks... That's probably cheaper than what samsung might charge you.

Everybody so mean here. But yea bro your pretty much screwed no way to sugar coat it. Sorry next time ask questions if your not sure what your doing since its pretty much bricked u can call T-Mobile and act like u have no idea what happend and do warranty exchange. If you cant start it they most likely won't be able to either.

agreed with keji13,jtag and hope for the best, try guaranty exchange, but next time read, ask, and understand before making a real expensive paperweight

Wait... what did T-Mobile say? What did you tell them? Never tell them the truth. I know this is frowned upon, but whatever.
Never say you got the phone off craigslist. Be firm that it's your phone. Most likely warranty isn't verified on your account because you didn't activate the phone with your SIM initially... since it is off CL..
Most importantly, be nice to the reps, if you put them in a good mood they will try to help you. They pushed through an exchange for me before.

Samsung is a hit or miss honestly. If they know what you've done you'll pay deductible. Forgot how much. Jtag is probably cheaper

Hard bricked AGAIN!!!

I just got my phone Jtagged because it was bricked from what i believe was triangle away.
Anyways, i go to backup with titanium back, process starts and its stuck at 17% for a while, i get a text message and read it. I then slide down the notification bar to go back into the backup, i press it and it just goes right back to the home page of my galaxy s3. so try going into titanium backup from the main page and it says "configuring data" i believe. So i wait a while on that screen and it just says configuring data, the notication bar shows tit.backup runnin the backup still at 17&. So i hold the power button and hit reset, and now the phone wont turn on, wont go into download or recovery. Completely bricked like last time. I cant believe this, anything i do just bricks my phone.
Also, i unlocked the bootloader with EZ unlock, i did this befor using titanium backup. Could this have caused it?
It must be EZ unlock that bricked my phone both times!! **** sakes, have to jtag again, there goes another $85 to JTAG it.
i used this methon to root. which says to download ez unluck and unlock the bootloader. I am now finding out that EZ unlock is for Verizon only. So ****in pissed right now.

You tried unlocking an att bootloader that's already unlocked with an app/exploit designed to unlock a locked vzw bootloader? No, couldn't be you.

If you can look at one of those chinese/asian cell phone storesyou will probably find a jtag there. The one I go to is in Barnaby Crystal Mall. My phone is also bricked, but since I have it on a three year contract I get the repair for free. I also think they should do something about the version crap. I9300 gets all the good roms, and i747m barely gets any.

Very Odd! I think I got a test build?

I get text on bootup and shut down, there is a LOT of extra stuff displayed in odin mode and "Dev Tools" app was preinstalled. Also, the regular Developer Options were already enabled.
This is an exchange for a bad camera....

Have you considered that this was a returned or exchanged model, that hasn't been fully wiped(erase)?

Its still a MI7 build which is old. Like the post above me said. Most likely the device you got wasn't wiped. The spot that says G.M. Carlton if that isn't you like it makes me think that was the person that had the phone before you.

Considering the build says TEST Keys, probably have an early 4.3 build. Here's a screenshot of my device. Notice the only difference is the build number.
That's me. Dang, now you know my secret identity! Lol. It was clean. Started with the regular setup. The only app different than the crap they bloat it with was the dev tools. There is another option in developer options as well, allows me to turn off DRM checking. Oh, and someone asked for the wallpaper. I'll post it up tomorrow.
Can you grab a photo of the Download/ODIN mode screen? Curious to know what "Extra Stuff" you have in there.
And have no fear, your secret identity is safe in here. Lol
I should be able to after work. I left it at home :/
Moar Pics!
Very cool, now only to figure out what superpowers come with that, lol. In all my years of custom rom flashing I've never seen anything like that. What does your download screen say? Knox still valid? This has me curious.

There is a pic. Knox is 0x0. Kies says it cannot update the firmware and software update says the device has been modified.

I've got some clearer shots at home, they would not upload yesterday for whatever reason. I also received my replacement for my replacement, so, unless there's a good reason not to, I'm sending it back today or tomorrow.
I received a replacement that did the same thing on boot up as your pictures. The only difference was the one I received was Knox 0x1 and it was for my wife who needs Knox for work so I called them and they sent me a brand new one.
But before I sent it back I oden it back to original firmware so that way the next person they sent it to did not have the same issue and then when I booted it it was fine (besides the Knox 0x1).
My Note is rooted and we would have kept the first replacement after I oden it but my wife needs Knox.
I wonder if those "test keys" contain the Knox reversal. Knox white papers say that the container is signed and the "keys" validate the originality of the kernel, Recovery, etc... Just a thought. I have zero proof to this insane theory.
