Hey whats up I exchange my phone once and got the new device and now I noticed it has this pinkish glare on the bottom half of the screen. It's not all that noticeable but it's definitely there and comparing to other s4s you can tell mind gets darker towards the bottom of the screen and greys our little purple pink ish. What I want to know is if I have a buyer's remorse. With this new exchanged device. Do I get another 14 days because this is a new phone or does it only allow me to exchange previous within the first 14 days of the initial purchase?

im pretty sure the pinkish tint is a known issue with some units and im pretty sure its a hardware issue (someone please correct me if im wrong) which means you would in fact, have to do another exchange for a better unit,
though i can tell you once you get a fully functional unit, you will not regret anything
The pink tint is a hardware issue and is pretty widespread. The buyer's remorse goes from the purchase date of your first phone. If you did installments on the phone, you get 14 days. If you bought it outright, you get 30 days. If you're past your buyer's remorse period, your only option is a warranty exchange through customer care.

OK but would I have to be phone less for the warranty exchange? Or do they send me one and then I send mine?

Funny thing is my first unit didn't have this issue.. Now this one does. And now it bothers the hell outta me

No. They send you the replacement via next day air shipping, then you send the defective phone back in the same box with the provided prepaid shipping label.

does it makes a difference? because i paid $700 , its still the same hardware right.
Standard. They almost always replace with refurbished units.
Yeah it will just be refurbished. Just like at some point someone will send theirs in and get your phone that u sent in just that fixed up
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
Sounds like you are getting a refurbished device. Typically they were owned by another customer at one time and returned. Verizon usually makes sure it works okay then sends it out as a refurbish. They are pretty much as good as a new one, for the most part, more or less, kind of okay, etc.

If you are still within the return period then try to return it for a new one. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it too much - the refurb phones most likely go through even more stringent quality inspection than the off the line production phones.

Seems like a raw deal - pay for a new phone, it has a defect, take it back, get a used phone as a replacement

Has anyone seen John Connor?
i had mine replaced recently and received a brand new one. granted, this happened about a week after i bought the phone("misplaced it - idiot"). it is surprising that they are sending out refurbs already though....
I would not accept refurbished. Demand a new unit its your right

i just hope it doesnt have any issues
hopefully the hardware buttons are not locked and it doesnt have android os eating battery issue or any other issue
I typically prefer refurbished devices (of anything, not just phones) You are basically getting a device that spent a few days with a quality control inspector who pointed out flaws that were later fixed.
I'm not on Verizon, but if there is a limited time to return the phone, and you are still within that time period, demand a new one.
i paid full price ($649 US) for my GNEX and had an issue with the screen. i took it back to Verizon and requested an exchange for a new one. the tech i spoke with was very nice but was dragging his feet. i reminded him (respectfully) that if he declined the exchange, i would simply return it (still in the initial return period), pay the restocking fee and then buy a new one. i spent the last 4 months dealing with problems on the Bionic and wasn't about to let Verizon screw me again. he agreed to exchange it for a new one at that point. of course, another option would have been to simply drive to a different store and try again.
if you purchased your phone from Verizon, i think you have an extended holiday period until 15 january to return/exchange it. i wouldn't accept a refurb within the first week since you paid full price.
Go to a Verizon. They replaced mine in store with a brand be one

When I got a replacement I received a new retail unit with all the included accessories in retail packaging.

and this is my problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1418556
i called again and asked if it was refurbished they said no its "certified" which means that some costumer returned the phone because he or she didn't want it any longer. its not rebuilt. i don't know what to make of this i guess i will find out tomorrow

I pre-ordered my blue Galaxy S 3 back in June and got it on release day. I tried to get AT&T to let me switch to a red one but sadly I ran out of my 30 day return time before the red one came out. The only option offered to me was to return the device for the $30 or $35 fee, go back to my old one, and then pay for a new contract upgrade after the red one was released. I am now wondering if anybody has tried to warranty swap and get a different color? I understand that they do not send the back cover of the phone with warranty swaps but I assume I could buy a cover online from Ebay, Amazon etc.

I haven't tried getting a different color using the warranty but i believe they ask you to specify which color your phone is or they make you send your phone in if you have it.

So my 2 day old n7 has touch screen issues as well as a lose corner where I can lift the screen up. I bought it from Amazon. Do I contact them, or Google?
Amazon....
That is what I thought thanks
Amazon has about the best return policy of any American company. In the first thirty days, I would never mess with the manufacturer. I even pay (slightly) more to buy from Amazon because of this. Well, and the free shipping...

If anything goes wrong with the tablet after the return period you would contact Asus directly for warranty service.
And how are they to deal with, am I better off buying a square trade warranty?
ST does a 5 day turnaround. ASUS has a pretty bad record.
However, for the first year, ASUS' warranty is primary. ST covers what they don't. After the first year, ST handles it.
So, for the first year, it doesn't make any difference (other than a drop and spill claim.)
Its so small, yet noticeable. Paid the full price for the phone, but I'm thinking if I take it back, they'll think I did it. Just because its there, its driving me crazy. What would you guys do?

Basically, I'd like to know if I should return it. It's so small.
If you got it from an authorized retailer and you've only had it for a day or so I would bring it into the retail store and try to have it switched out. Call them first, be honest. Hopefully somebody decent will help you out or get authorization from a manager.
It will help if you have some sort of print out (order tracker details stating delivery date and time if shipped or receipt if bought in store) saying when you bought or received it. Call multiple stores until you get the answer you want. Be somewhat confident and aggressive that you paid good money for the phone and you deserve a minute t condition decide upon arrival.

It depends on who you bought it from. If you boutch it from a retailer take it back they'll replace it. But if you didnt you may have a hard time returning it, much less getting a replacement from the same person. Thats why whenever I buy something ie ebay/craigslist/amazon, as soon as I get it I take pictures of it, with the same days newspaper in the picture so it validates the date. and i make sure they have pictures of it before the package it.

I would take it back today. Same day with the nick almost guarantees a replacement even if they do think it was you. You probably lose 50 percent of your chances even by the second day and then from there you might be screwed.

Good point. Hopefully I'll have no problem. I'll report back. Is quality control on these phones pretty bad?
I don't think so I purchased an AT&T version and a tmobile version both were perfect. I haven't seen any complaints on the forums, although a few they seem to be very few and far between. Good luck I'm rootin for the little guy.

Update: Ok I went to the T-Mobile store and they really hesitated to swap out my device. The girl had to call her manager. She did question if I did this, and I told her very humbly that I did not. She was like, well you had the device for 10 hours. Her manager then agreed to let her swap it out.
New device seems fine. No nicks on the bezel.
Hell yea buddy. I was very persistent with them and finally they sold me an sm_s900t with no service plan. It's funny though, I'm actually cancelling my att service tomm and headed to a T Mobile store to start using them as my new wireless carrier. I had no idea that their data plan was so good until today. Peace ATT. I've been with them for 5 years and I still pay 110 a month for my current plan. Better plan for $40 cheaper on
Congrats

Exactly my scenario. Using TMO on an unlocked att iphone 5S, they sucked. Using a TMO GN3, it's a whole another story. I'm using the $70 prepaid plan, but plan on porting my two att lines over soon. I am so sick of AT&T's locked boot loaders, and them throttling my data every month. What pisses me off the most is not everyone on the old unlimited data plan gets throttled. I was really shocked to see TMo LTE light up in so many places today. With one bar, I pulled 25 down. Yea att is faster, but who cares. Now I won't have to monitor my usage with my unlimited plan.
Yup that's the first thing on my to do list tomm. Att who? Never heard of em.
Should be no problem returning it
One of my buddies, we'll call him " Butterfingers" dropped his brand new T-mobile Note 3 2 hours after opening, while sitting in his room. It fell and slightly dinged a corner. He went to T-Mobile the next day and they overnight a new phone for him, no questions asked. LOL
Glad it worked out for you.
Hello everyone, So i have a note 3 thats about 3 weeks old. Never dropped, never wet, perfect condition in its case. Today after charging i took if off the charger and realized that the lower half of the screen no longer recognized my finger. It works fine with the s pen though, the dot is followed with the pen, and the screen responds to the pen, but not my finger. So I factory reset, still doesnt work with my finger on the lower half of the screen. Any one ever have this issue/ have any ideas on what to do? Not sure what to do/try.
Since i'm out of my 14 day window, if I cant figure out how to fix it..... and I going to get screwed with a refurb phone since im out of the 14 day window? Or can I still exchange it because its still within 30 days? I dont want a refurb on something 700 dollars thats 3 weeks old.
Please help! and thanks!!
From what I understand the 14 days is a buyers remorse period and not a warranty period. You should be ok to exchange it on the basis of defect.
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using Tapatalk 2
You can only exchange it in-store within the first 14 days. After that, it's done as a warranty exchange and shipped out to you. Warranty exchanges are almost always refurbished.
