Hi !!
I have a huge problem with my HOX. I've had this for a while and tried two factory resets and I just dont know what to do anymore. I contacted HTC but they said the problem was probably due to an app that I installed. I dont agree so I used the phone today after a factory reset and no installed apps and after a while I got the same problems. Here is a video that sums it all up...........
http://youtu.be/RoypOXbgWBI
Does anyone have a clue to whats wrong and is there a solution for it ???? I will contact HTC again and I want them to check out the phone because I just cannot use it anymore. Oh, and is anyone else having these problems and were they solved ???
Thanks !!

Thank you for your reply. I have just seen at least 6 videos on youtube with the same problem and what I can tell from the comments........there are a lot of people with this problem. I've already send HTC an email and hopefully they are going to acknowledge the problem and replace my phone (fat chance, right ???).
Oh, and I am from The Netherlands so I dont think sending my phone to the USA is a good idea.........but thanks for the suggestion
If you haven't rooted your phone, send it in for warranty...
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Have you rooted your hox ? If you have could be a bad app like htc say, what i would do is make a backup of your current rom dl a rom (viperjb) do a full system wipe flash the zip file then go into fastboot flash the boot.img & dont forget to fastboot erase cache. Then without installing apps see if the problem is still there if it isnt install your apps one by one test again if its there before installing any apps it is proberly a hardware fault so either send it back to your provider or htc. Hope this helps in some way.

Restore your HOX to the stock rom and relock the thing (lots of guides out there) and then contact HTC about your problem if it still exists. I've had good experiences with HTC warranty in the Netherlands (and yes, i was unlocked too). And with good I mean that they weren't whining about it being unlocked, their actual service was very bad..

I just received my repaired HOX !! According to the included paperwork the display module was replaced. I hope that that solved the problem. I will keep you all updated

Dear All,
I woke up this morning and found this news clip of the HOX in Hong Kong (it's in Cantonese). The translation as follows:
It is hailed as King of Smartphones for now but with bugs and glitches. It's gone mainstream and HTC is not looking good. So, the report states the bugs as one can see from the clip. It also states HTC will provide free replacement no matter what but at the end the report states HTC has not contacted the vendors for full replacement to the end user.

chum,
You have to ask HTC HK. Do you have the bugs as stated in the video?
I have a yellow spot and the camera glitch ups (not often, just had it happen once during this one week experience)
Do you just go to the HTC HK website and ask them whether they will honor my exchange?

I got a response from HTC HK.
They called me and told me they could replace the screen for me for free.
But if they wanted a refurbished replacement, they will charge me $1800-1900HKD because I unlocked my bootloader. But no biggie....
As the camera issue is probably a software issue, and only happened to me once, I think it shouldn't be an issue, when I get my screen replaced, I'll update it to the latest HTC based ROM. This problem replicates itself with a probability of 1/50.
Good stuff...

That is great they will replace the screen. Hope there won't be anymore yellow spots and flickering.
Seems like it is the problem of the screen and not the camera...

Alright guys, I got a call from HTC Service Center just now.
They fixed my unlocked bootloader HTC One X's screen with a yellow spot for free.
They said they can't update the firmware for me because I unlocked the bootloader, but if I didn't, there should be a new firmware update which addresses the screen flicker/camera flicker issue.
All is good, yellow spot screen replaced and screen flicker solved.
If you have these problems, do what I did and you'll get it fixed
Hey guys,
writing to you because of a friend's wildfire s (Unbranded!, Software Version was: 1.33.401.2)
She told me that the phone became very slow and so on, so I told her it would be good to update to newest software (if that would not pleasure her, we could try a costum rom).
So I tried it via OTA, but the phone kept telling me it was up to date for days.
So I thought why not updating it the old method via RUU. I grabbed "RUU_Marvel_S_HTC_Europe_2.13.401.2_Radio_47.23a.35.3035H_7.53.39.03M_release_225747_signed.exe" somewhere from the internet, did everything as described there and the update went flawlessly, it told me from 1.33.401.2 to 2.13.401.2 as expected
I got the message that the flash was successful and that the phone needs to reboot. So did it, but now it's just dead.
The only thing it does is flashing the screen up (it's still black, just the backlight's on) and then it switches of again - that happens in circles, on and on - nothing more, no splash screen, no chance to get into bootloader.
It seems like its totally smashed up? I really don't know why regarding the fact that the flash went flawlessly and that everything seemed to fit to me (or did I chose the wrong RUU? - Dont think so )
What will be the next steps? I think there's nothing more I can do, it's HTC's time now or not? Do they repair such devices/cases under warranty?
Thank you guys for your help and please don't forgive me my bad english, it's late here in Germany

I don't recall anyone recovering from this. It looks like the ruu didn't run properly and flashed a bad/corrupt radio If you have warranty, i suggest you go claim it
Problem is, hat about one week ago i changed her digitizer because it was broken. Doing that, i had To remove

Any advice please, i bought a new HTC one X within three week it went faulty. the thing crashed and when it started up again it had wiped my contacts over the next few days it crashed over and over till i could no longer us it. i sent it back to HTC only to find they dont replace only repair. they did that and now three weeks later its started again, i have been in touch with them and they say they can only reapir it again, anyone any ideas where i can take it to get it fixed right or any other advice would be great
thank you
might be worth getting in touch with whoever you bought it from. in the uk the seller is responsible for any faults.
it might also help for more specifics, just saying its crashing doesn't help really.
what exactly is happening?

Wait a few weeks before and enjoy it as is, you will loose your warranty so better be sure there are no defects, also we'll get the andoid 4.0.4 update soon and from what I have seen from custom roms it really is a big improvement
Yes you can do it on a Mac, it's just basic fastboot stuff.
I wouldn't do it straight away though, just to be sure your device doesn't need any warranty stuff.

I would advise not to root it so soon..I also sold sold my Galaxy Note n bought this beauty..the screen of Note was complete junk n was way too big for my liking..wasn't able make long calls due to its sheer size ..I miss the spen though..
N don't root your one x so soon ..first make sure that u don't have any hardware issues n enjoy it as it is for some time..see if any issue pops up in 15-20 days..if it's fine then u can root..coz as soon as u unlock your bootloader your warranty is gone..so wait n observe ..

Well, you don't unlock the bootloader unless you intend to tamper with it.

They(HTC) are damn sly about it. At HTCdev it says unlocking "may" void your warranty when what they really mean is it will void your warranty. Wait a few weeks or a month before unlocking.
I unlocked mine as soon as I got it. But the WiFi deathgrip showed up way later. Around a month and a half later. I haven't given it to HTC for repair yet as I'm in another country and sending it to repair from a HTC service center here sets me back by 35US$- Their charge to ship it to a International Service Center.
Your call it is to unlock or not Hf with your OneX.
Incredible to read how people have there opinion ready about HTC without having any
experience other then read from the board. It's so sad to read.

I agree I haven't given mine for repair yet so no idea if they will repair my unlocked phone.i.e No Experience as you call it. But I do have the experience of talking to them on the phone and contact via emails & I did mention a reason as to why I haven't given it for repair yet. A valid reason at that.

My HOX I got from the UAE and I'm in India right now. I can't avail my warranty here as its local but HTC offers an option to send my phone to an HTC International Service Center but they will charge for shipping $35. I sent this mail to them whining a little bit lol. HTC was nice enough to call me back. They mentioned the same thing about me sending it to a int. Service Center since its from UAE. I enquired about why they have to send it to a international service center and why can't it be done here itself and he replied saying that since my phone is from the UAE it has different software and hardware -_- I asked how long it would take for my phone to come back and he replied upto 30 days. I neither have that much time or money, so I'll wait till I go to the UAE later this month and give my phone.
You're the one who shouldn't have his judgement ready. Just because you have a perfect HOX doesn't mean everyone has a perfect one. I'm not the only person facing the WiFi Deathgrip either. So lets just call it quits here, I hope you get a better understanding of my situation.

Another point I'd like to add is that custom roms also have the 2.05 base which was leaked but hasn't been released yet. It has great performance and lots of fixes. It killed the overheating problem my HOX had. Some people find the colors messed up on the 2.05 roms but I don't.

You can try talking the story nice and straight but I don't take it.
Just because you're on a trip and HTC offers you an option to send it to an international service center doesn't mean they must pay for the shipping cost isn't?
The shipping cost they are charging you are just regular international shipping cost you pay for an item, nothing fancy about it.
Reading what you're writing now HTC is not bad at all so I do not understand why you start
moaning about them without any experience.
About your last sentence, I don't have any judgement ready I'm just telling you what I think about it.
To my opinion it sucks what you are doing, it's as simple as that.
Be patient till your back from your travel, return your device to HTC and then judge,
and please don't start crying here again if HTC doesn't repair your device under warrentee because that's there right too, you unlocked the bootloader and agreed with the terms.
It's there expertise and you're just a regular customer, they have a lot more experience then you.
So fingers crossed they repair it for you.
Goodluck with it.

Hey all some days ago my power button started troubling me at times I would have to press it really hard to make it work since my phone is still in warranty I'm thinking to submit it to HTC service centre..
So I need some advice about how the support is at the service centre..should I submit it there or not ..
I am in India (lucknow)

Service is pretty good.
But takes some time to get hold of your handset. Cause hardware issues are not solved in Bangalore center.
Other than that everything is great.

I'm in Kolkata where are two service centers of HTC, one sends the phone to blore n the other one repairs the hardware n software problem in Kolkata itself. Later one is called tvs, search in HTC India support page. Cheers.

Its not been a year ... Loved Nokia for it ... My device is still in warranty according to bill but it is void when I rooted what is button got to do with ROM ?
Should I go back to stock before summiting it to HTC
I think they will check out the root stuff
Any one have a idea about it they will charge or going to do it for free ???
Have you got it replaced ???

Even if you go back to stock and relock your bootloader, the bootloader will say relocked instead of locked, so they will know and your warranty will just be a piece of paper

i am also rooted but the ones in india are not so smart most prabably they wont figure it out...but i changed the idea of submitiing it to them ..
few of my friends have already had the experience they said they returned their phone after 2 months and i cant live without my phone for such a long time..(well yes if u relock the bootloader its written re-locked) but if u want to go to complete stock u have to do this..
I called them they said if your phone is in warranty,it will be done feee of charge..
anyways give it a try..revert to stock go to the service centre and see if they figure it out..
oh yes and do let me know..
