Hi,
OK ever since I installed the asop carbon 4.2.2 ROM which I live by the way favorite one so far. But anyways ever since I installed it I can't use used codes. I've trued using *#*#,#*#* and the service code won't open. When I type in *#*#197328640#*#* it just sits there in dial pad mode. The code disappears but the service the service page doesn't pop up. Please help.

I made an app for easy access to the service menu's on the Galaxy S. I made it on the Vibrant so if anyone is willing to try it on the I9000 and leave me some feed back it would be much appreciated.
The app can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=772690
Installed it on a stock Galaxy S and it seems to work fine.
After you select an item (i.e. GPS) it temporary brings up the Telephone keypad then goes straight to the service menu without any further intervention.
However, when you have finished altering items and come back out it again takes you again to the Telephone keypad where this time you then have to hit 'back' once again to come out.... Is this correct?
Yes this is correct. The program is just typing all those crazy service codes into the dialer for you, so you dont have to remember them all. Thank You for the feedback it is much appreciated.

Do any of the options work or are they all broke on the epic? If some work, which ones?
None work, I'm not rooted maybe that's why???? To confirm I'm using the app properly. I launch the app, select a setting, it launches the dialer, and instead of then launching the service menu, nothing happens.., if I press the Send, it attempts to make a phone call. I tried for all of them, as I was hoping to get this to work.
Thats strange. You should not have to be rooted. Sounds to me like samsung changed the codes for access on the epic. I will do some research into this. Can you type a code manually in the dialer and let me know what happens? For example this should show your your IMEI number: *#06#
EDIT: I found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7973675
It appears the secret codes are not working at all on the epic, so it is not the program. It seems these menu's were locked out or removed (possibly at sprints request).

Ya nothing works when I press the factory format it tells me it will erase everything but I'd rather not see what happens next. Thanks for your efforts maybe verizon will remove the codes too.

did not do a nano before i flashed so need to know what rom has the codes enables or a nano that is stock
nm got it
I was trying to access some of the secret codes through the dialer and none of them are working. After typing them in it says "Connection problem or invalid MMI code"
I'm running codename with ktoonsez kernel. Any suggestions?
EDIT: I don't know if it matters, but I should also let you know that I'm with Rogers
What secret code?
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
for example *#0*# in the dialer should take me to a test mode shouldn't it?
Sorry I don't know if there's an actual technical term for these codes I just always see them referred to as secret codes lol
those codes will not work on aosp based roms. which codenameandroid is. if you need to use those codes you will need to flash back to a touchwiz based rom.
ahhh i see. makes sense lol thanks!
Hi guysI've Just gotten my galaxy note and I can't seem to find the dialer codes that are used to check phone information.
Back then it was*#*#4636#*#*Or something like that, has anyone figured out what are the dialer codes for our galaxy note 2?

Hello sir,
You doesn't need to root your device for some code to run successfully,
Try this few code as I used it before this to check my faulty device :
#*0*# - To run some test on your device.
#*0011# - To run Service Mode. There's an option to Turn Off the Wifi Power Saver Mode
*#1234# - To check your device Version of Android.
Hope this can help sir as this is a few notable code that I used to check on device before this.

Codes for Sammy and AOSP based roms are different.
On CM10.1 *#*#4636#*#* (or something similar) will work. On Sammy based it won't.

Anyone?
Hmmmm....
I thought that AOSP was the official Samsung/Android ROM.
You learn something every day.
thank you

Hi, I'm new here and a novice flasher. I recently flashed HellKat 4.4.2 rom on my SGH-T989. Everything runs OK except for a few bugs.
I just noticed that whenever I tap "about phone" in system settings, there is no IMEI number. Gone. Does anyone know why? Is there a way that I can recover my IMEI number?
Thanks XDA
I don't have one either. Mine is a T Mobile and it doesn't seem to bother Telus. I had Hellybean when I noticed and flashed the stock ROM/radio but it never came back.

Probably just not reading it. Try typing *#06# in dialer - see if it shows
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
OK. It does show up on the dialer. So I guess it's not completely "gone", just doesn't appear on the "about" section. (I also flashed a jellybean radio before flashing rom. Don't know if that has anything to do with it)

Hi,
Please I also have similar problem with my phone. When I dial *#06# it shows "null/null". As a result, I am unable to get mobile network.

If restoring stock doesn't fix it... And you didn't back up the EFS partition, there's nothing you can do.
A service place can maybe restore it.
