HOX bootloop..! - HTC One X

Hi, I successfully Rooted my phone, made a backup with CWM and I installed TWRP, made a backup, and then flashed CleanROM, but somehow, the same ROM appeared, so I checked the forums and I flashed "fastboot boot boot.img", and then the bootloop started,
I tried many thing, read the Q&A, tried to restore my backups but nothing, I have CleanROM 6 R2.zip on my phone, have CWM and TWRP, I can switch between these 2 recovery apps, tried to cleach cache, wipe etc.. but didnt work,
Please someone help to solve this problem with the CleanROM or the stock ROM
Thanks, and sorry for my bad english.

Clean Rom :
Make a full wipe in the recovery ! Data, caches, system, android secure......all except the sdcard !
Install the cleanrom.zip and flash the boot.img
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Fastboot erase cache
The cleanrom....isn't that a rom for the at&t hox (HTC one XL) what does your bootloader say ?
EVITA OR ENDEAVORU ???

If the clean rom is downloaded from the at&t forum DITCH IT NOW !!! you might end up bricked.
Do you have a link to the rom ?
Download a rom from here, from this section ! Never ....EVER go to the at&t, rogers, HTC one XL forum with a ENDEAVOURU international tegra 3 HTC one X. These are 2 completely different phones !.

This was the rom I flashed, so you think, I bricked it, and can't dont anything? :crying:

No its not bricked as long as you can enter the bootloader and recovery. You just need to flash a new rom from THIS forum !

Please can you link me a good ROM and tell me how to upload the rom for my phone in bootloader mode, or just tell me how to flash a new ROM? because I cant reach phone storage from my PC, I would appreciate it.

I dont know what you like, browse and check for one yourself
I can tell you how to install it.
1: enter the bootloader and flash the new boot.img
2: enter the recovery and mount the sdcard as a usb mass storage device (cwm has it under mounts and storage)
3: copy the rom.zip to the sdcard and unmount
4: perform a full wipe
5: install the new rom.zip
6: reboot

Thank you, I found one, but I would like to ask you, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1745176
This ROM will be okay?
I will inform you after the process, I hope i can fix it.

Very fine rom indeed, but what is your hboot ? If its a JB one i would go for the 3.4 JB version of the viper X
If you have a hboot that is higher then 1.28 install this one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2087443
Download the full 3.4.0 rom ! NOT the 3.4.3......that one does not boot up.

I just did 1 post before yours......install the JB one, your hboot is fine

Im in CMW now, but here are these options : mount /sdcard -mount USB storage, I tried both but it says E: unable to open ums(no such file or directory), what souhld I do ? ( and i dont see the phone in my computer)

Update the cwm recovery to 5.8.4.0.....you are using an older version !
The new one will fix that problem and you will be able to mount the sdcard

Did u flash the boot.img with fastboot commands ?
If you want to flash a new rom you also have to do a full wipe on recovery.
Now its messed up maybe
Flash the boot.img from the desired ics rom and do a full wipe in recovery and then flash the rom
Either because you didn't do a full wipe or you didn't flash the boot.img......so try doing both of these

Yes I did flash boot.img with fastboot commands, then flashed CWM Recovery by ADB, then flashed the ROM but NO LUCK yet
I really don't know what people are doing to their hoxes
It's not that hard. Make sure you do a full wipe and start from scratch. If you do a full wipe and flash the boot.img and then the rom a bootloop is for 99% out of the question !

I have done a full wipe, wiped cache partition, format system, format sdcard (mass storage) wipe dalvik cache.

I will do this now, but what about no signal, imei & baseband "unknown"
A last resort is a RUU
Put the phone in fastboot mode and do the next commands
fastboot getvar version-main
This will say the build number (2.17.****
Fastboot OEM readcid
This will give your cid code.
The combination is important for the ruu.
Can you post them here.
Why the hell did you format the sd card ?you had your nandroid backup and the Rom in it ..
Dude if you don't know what your doing then why are you playing with your device ...start from the beginning
Go to fastboot >flash kernel
Go to recovery>mount SD CARD and put the Rom in it >do a wipe for data/cache and dalvik cache only!!!
Then go to install zip from sd card
And install the Rom

The only thing i can think of is a bad download .....
If you flashed the kernel in fastboot, did a full wipe (superwipe script) and flash the rom it should boot ... It's just as simple as that !
And I don't see a modified boot.img in the OP of the blade rom either so that's not it !
I would gladly test it on my hox with 1.36 hboot but I can't until tomorrow in the evening .a

when you said you still can boot into viperx, you reflash the viperx ROM or just a reboot after failed attempt to boot Blade, it boots to viperx ?
Edit: It is either you use the superwipe script provided by MarcelHofs to really make a full wipe
or on your previous step that you mentioned:
1)flash boot .img
2)wipe date/factory reset
3)Wipe cache
4)wipe davlik cache
** format system <---- do this too
5)install zip from sd card

I think there is no need for you to waste your time to test the ROM. If he run your superwipe script, it should boot.

What I personally did:
1. format /system

3. clear dalvik and erase cache
4. flash ROM
5. flash boot.img

Hmmm i am starting to lose the confidence in the hboot firmware update. I am seeing more and more reports of this problem. My opinion :
its always the best thing to update officially with a nandroid backup !
This way you avoid radio/ril problems ..... but its to late for that now, the solution ..... I don't have it
Try to flash from scratch again, wipe ALL from recovery even format the sdcard and copy only the rom.zip back on it.
Flash the boot.img and install this script right before you install the rom !
http://db.tt/eLoVUcRc
(Install it the same way as a rom - install zip from sdcard and continue to install it)
Then the rom, and also choose in the aroma full wipe and also very important (this might be the problem!!!) The question about the custom kernel ....choose NO !
You could try getRIL from play store.

Problem after installation of custom ROM on HTC one X

Hi,
This is my first post (and sorry for my bad english)
I got a problem with my HTC one X, yesterday, I try to install the custom ROM ViperX 2.6.0 and after the installation, the ROM works but I am blocked on pin code because the touch doesn't work and the 3 buttons at the bottom to. The only buttons who work are power, vol up and down.
So, since yesterday, my HOX is bricked because I didn't make back up and I don't find good version of RUU and I can't send files on the SDcard.
How can I unbrick my phone (with the custom ROM or reset my HOX with RUU)?
My HOX's caracteristics:
cid : HTC__203
version : 3.18.401.1
HBOOT-1.39.0000
Thanks to help me. And sorry for my English ^^'

Thanks for your reply, you must be right, but I don't know how mount usb storage works.
When I select "mount USB storage" on recovery, it doesn't work and there is "E : unable to open ums lunfile (No such file or directory)"
Flash a newer recovery. Yours is outdated.

Then install the viper 3.7.4 just like you did with the 2.6. It booted so you did the correct steps.

were you on stock ics or jellybean. that fault used to occur on stock ics when using cwm. you could flash twrp recovery or newer cwm and see if you still get the fault
beaten by @Mr Hofs
I flashed a newer cwm, flash viper x 2.7.4 and it works.
So my problem was a older version of the custom rom and I needed a newer version of recovery to mount sd card and flash with other custom rom.
We can close this topic =)

Flash the new boot.img from the new rom, perform a full wipe in the recovery and install the new rom.zip !

r u saying to do follow the same way like i did for unlocked+root on my ICS ? i tried it but HTCdev not working like before.
Look.....you don't have to do the htcdev thing. You say your bootloader is unlocked. So flash a custom recovey and install a JB rom as usual
