All systems are go on my phone now, I downloaded the stock file from Samsungupdates.com, then installed it thru Odin and it worked like a charm.
Where did you find the stock file from samsungupdates.com? I can't find it anyway. I've been stuck on this for nearly a day now. I've learned quite a bit of new stuff... more than I care to know lol. I know there is a solution to this, I just need some guidance please.

here the link to the page
http:// samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SPH-L900 (remove the spaces)
download the middle link, it should take about 2 hours, run this file thru Odin as if it were any other TAR
After you download, this is what the file should be: KIES_HOME_L900VPALJ1_L900SPTALJ1_265523_REV04_user_low_ship.tar.md5

Sboot.bin won't downgrade the normal way from ma7 back to lk8/ljc etc. Garwynn has a work around for it somewhere in the dev section. I believe you need to use billards all in one revert to ljc with flash counter reset to downgrade the bootloader. This is why I didn't flash the bootloader with ma7 I just flashed the rom and modem. That way I wouldn't need to hassle around with downgrading it if I wanted to one click back to ljc instead of ma7

have tried a bunch of times now. i have tried a handful of different .tar files too. I cant get any of them to work =[
I am new all this and am learning to tinker, brick and fix too.
Here is a trick I came up with. Get a Micro SD card. Download a ROM and anything else you need to it. Put in phone. Go into recovery. Flash away.

Your problem is probably beyond me in my learning curve.
But, just to make sure you know this trick. Pull the battery. Place fingers on Power, Home and Volume Up buttons. Hold those buttons tightly while inserting the battery. Keep holding until the recovery screen appears.
Good luck!
If I find or figure out another method I will post again.

Yes, find and flash the MK2 odin .tar file. That should solve the problem. The reason the 4.2 MDL tar file is failing is because once you were on 4.3 MK2 your qfuse counter was ticked up and you can no longer can flash down to MDL.
is there any better place to get this ROM? All I'm finding are these ridiculous sites that want me to pay like $15 to do a 'fast download'
all the other ones are like 8 hours to download and my computer keeps timing out
neither the terafile or rapidgator site works for me and I don't feel comfortable paying an out of country site like this.
are there any other options? My wife is leaving for a trip tomorrow and her phone is useless.
I downloaded some other ones (MODIFIED_STOCK_MK2_DEODEX_V1.4.zip) but there's no MD5 file included to do it with... just a ZIP
any way to package that as an MD5 tar?

Well you said your wife's phone was 4.3 so in order to go back to stock you must flash the official mk2. MDL will not work. You can't downgrade from 4.3. If you were flash official mdl over mk2 it will soft brick the phone. You can Google how to unbrick. It is doable. Good luck!
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
I am fine with getting 4.3
is there a direct link for Samsung?
that link you provided me with was for those two sites that don't work for me
I'm getting it from SamMobile. They're not 15 hours slow.
Odin successfully loaded the ROM but now it's showing a gray battery icon.
I'm going to let it charge for a bit.
It was showing the T-mobile 4G LTE logo for a bit until I disconnected it from the PC after Odin reported success.
wish me luck.
so, it has taken a charge, but it just sits at the pulsing white T-mobile 4G LTE screen on boot. it makes the T-mobile noise... but that's it.
Were you able to fully boot the phone? Try doing a factory reset after you Odin the package. Sometimes you get issues after you Odin but a factory reset fixes most problems. Be sure to wipe dalvik and cache.

Hello,
I have been trying to root my galaxy s3 sgh t999v by the root66 method. I have done this method before and then returned to stock, and now choosing to go back to a custom rom. However, this time odin has been failing and not allowing me to root my phone, I am using the right files as well as the stock cable that came with the s3. I have twrp installed by going through odin and installing that. But now it is stuck on either a boot loop or if I try installing the root66 or stock rom it will take me to the stuck in "please connect to kies " recovery mode screen..
Not sure what to do, any help is appreciated thank you

You can't downgrade, that's why you're getting that message. So either flash the same firmware version you had last, or a newer one
Yeah, that's 4.0.4 firmware. Try a more recent build. You can get it from my firmware thread too btw. Should give you a faster download.

I have a bit of a problem, I was on 4.4.2 but I don't see any root66 methods for 4.4.2, will I have to find another method?
Oh ok. Didn't realize you were on the latest, sorry. Flash the official firmware and then root with Towelroot. I have a thread for this in the General section.

I don't know if you tried already, but perhaps you could simultaneously flash a PIT file (hsbadr has a post over this) and a stock firmware image in ODIN. This should fix any borked partitions, if there are any. If this doesn't work, then I'm afraid I can't help you further. You'd have to wait on someone more knowledgeable than me. Or, you can take it into a verizon store or best-buy and ask for help there?

Is this on first boot go through set up and when your on the home screen power off the phone then power it on and if you were on cm 13 and flashed it with TWRP you tripped Knox so if powering off doesn't work then you can't get rid of it without rooting

<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
<OSM> Please wait..
<OSM> Checking MD5 finished Sucessfully..

Bren123 (or anyone who can help), I am having a same type of problem flashing in Odin. I would like to put my phone back to kitkat, back when it was smooth and fast. When I have tried to flash with Odin it failed everytime, however it was an older version of Odin v3.10.7. I have a stock kitkat rom from Sam mobile. Can I load it with the newer Odin and the Pit file you shared links for? Any help would be appreciated!

I use to have a Note 4 Verizon good cell, but I then change it to a T-Mobile N910T unlock easer to flash them no boot-loaders are blocked, but thats just my saying.
I went through the process ... i have root and i can only install a 5.1.1 rom for the life of me i am unable to flash any 6 or 7 roms ... ideas?
Get write failure
I know this has been a couple years but I am in the same boat . I went through the steps and I get a flash write failure?
