When I opened Kies Air on my phone, it says “When Kies is installed on your PC, you will be able to compose messages and notification on your PC”. Have anybody actually accomplished this? Whenever I opened Kies Air Message on Kies installed on my computer, I get the “Your computer is not currently connected to Wi-Fi or can not find a device”. My note2 is plugged in via USB, please help.
Sure somebody got this to work? yes? no? maybe?
I figured out the problem for those who are searching an answer to this.
1. Make sure your computer and your phone is on the same connection network.
2. Have Kies installed your PC, then go to Start, and type in KiesAirMessage.exe in the search box, this will open the KiesAirMessge standalone.
3. Turn on and start KiesAir on your phone. The PC will send your phone a code, putting this code into KiesAirMessage on your PC will allow the connection, you will only have to do this the first time.
4. Profit.

So I was bored tonight and figured I'd try installing some new firmware on my T-Mobile Dash. A Google search brought me to this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=354126
I followed the instructions and installed that firmware and it appeared to go off without a hitch. Then upon further exploring the forums here I discovered that there's a WM 6.1 firmware out so I thought I'd install that one instead.
Turns out, after doing the first sync my phone now absolutely refuses to connect to my computer no matter what I do. I've been desperately trying to get it to connect for over an hour. I've rebooted the device, rebooted the computer, tried a different computer, nothing will make it connect. The PC makes the "usb connected" sound effect when I plug it in, but WMDC can't detect it and nothing shows up in My Computer.
Any ideas? This phone is pretty worthless if I can't get it to connect to the computer, I really need to get this working.

Settings\Connections\USB to PC untick enable advanced network functionality.
I need to change my ROM, becuase this one I have now just totally screwed up, really badly. I dosent save any contacts and just will always fail synchronizing. Ok, my idea is to revert to the stock ROM, and in order to changethe ROM I attempt to connect via ActiveSync and it does the 'Connecting' thing and then it just says Error.
Please help
And now it dosent even recognize at all. When I plug the phone in via USB mode, it does, but when I say connect via active sync, active sync on my pc dosent open up, and when i open up, it dosen't say connect, or connecting just remains disconnected. can you hard reset your device without using active sync?
Hi!
if you're using windows seven or vista you must have "windows mobile device center" instead "activesync".
perhaps..
You can try going to start>settings>connections>usb to pc
Select "activesync" and unselect the "enable faster data sync" option.
Then try it on your pc again!
flash trough bootloader press volume down when the phone is off then flash trough ruu
I have had this phone for only two days now. My previous phone was an EVO. I got my Epic 4G Touch via a trade and there is one thing that I cant figure out... and feel quite silly asking the question.
When I plug the phone into my PC via USB, I do not get an option or prompt to choose whether to connect as a hard drive / charge only / or tether my internet connection like I did on my EVO. It seems that it only allows me to connect in charge only mode. I have been unable to find an option to choose to connect as a hard drive in the settings menu.
Any help with this solution will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Robert
Ok, enabling the USB debugging and then unplugging and plugging in the USB fired up those settings, but it did not find drivers for:
CDC Serial or SAMSUNG_Android... I am going to search the forum for that answer.
Settings>Wireless and Networks>USB Utilities. That's how you get to USB mode. But yes debugging mode also works. But once you plug your phone in the mtp mode should connect. You can also access media on PC that way and ur sd card is still accessible thru phone, unless you're actively syncing something then you get the sync screen.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
for my phone as soon as i plug it in i get a notification at the top and i pull down the status bar and i can enable usb mass storage from their
Thanks for the reply folks. I had me EVO so long that I forgot about enabling debugging mode. I did that and I finally got the drop down menu to enable me to use the phone as a hard drive.
My issue now is that I cannot seem to get two drivers to install correctly. I read through many posts, both here and ones I found via google, that suggested that I install Kais from Samsung's website to fix the driver issue. I did that, and applied all of the updates to the program that were available, and I am still getting the error saying that those drivers did not install correctly. I can browse the SD card now that Kais Air is installed, but I am still having the driver issue in device manager.
I am not sure where these drivers can be obtained...

Other than Kies, your pc should install drivers upon connecting phone. I've had this happen before. I uninstalled the drivers I found via google, restarted my pc, reconnected my device and it immediately began downloading proper drivers. I was good to go from then on.
You may wanna try, once device is connected to pc to
-go to start menu
-computer, and see if your device is there
I am using Kies 2.5.0.12094_28 on Windows 7. When I inserted my Note 2 LTE into usb port, a message popped up in lower right corner saying
Hardware ID Missing
Windows cannot identify the device plugged into the SAMSUNG Mobile USB Composite Device.
For assistance, contact the hardware manufacturer.
The Kies shown Connecting status and Connected devices: GT-N7105 but the update sign was rotating. It took ages not to complete the connection.
Is there any way to fix it?
Double klick on Kies icon
1. Connect your Note and doubleklick on Kies-Icon on your PC.
2. If doesn't work unplug the phone, uninstall Kies - restart - and reinstall.
plug in and if necesarry double click the kies icon.

Thanks for your advice. Tried it without success. Kies worked correctly with SGS2 but not SGN2 and now it won't work with both. Very disappointed!!
I uninstalled the software and re-installed it again and the Hardware ID Missing issue has gone and the drive was installed successfully. The Kies automatically launched when I plugged in N2. However it stuck in the Connecting status for ages. I clicked Troubleshoot connection error button. After unplugged N2, I clicked Start button but Kies 2.0 connection error troubleshooting did not start as indicated. It seems the Kies has lots of bug with N2.
Hey all,
My galaxy note 2 will not connect to my computer (Mac, mountain lion) at all.
Everytime I try I get the message from Android File Transfer saying "Could not connect device" "Try reconnecting or restarting device".
I have done this so many times but still won't work. The kies software does not work either.
Any advice or help would be appreciated. I should say though that when I first got the phone i was able to connect it to my computer. However, after I unlocked the sim that's when it stopped being able to connect. Not sure if this is related or not.
thanks!
