Urgent help! Can't connect via active Sync! - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV ROM Development

I need to change my ROM, becuase this one I have now just totally screwed up, really badly. I dosent save any contacts and just will always fail synchronizing. Ok, my idea is to revert to the stock ROM, and in order to changethe ROM I attempt to connect via ActiveSync and it does the 'Connecting' thing and then it just says Error.
Please help

And now it dosent even recognize at all. When I plug the phone in via USB mode, it does, but when I say connect via active sync, active sync on my pc dosent open up, and when i open up, it dosen't say connect, or connecting just remains disconnected. can you hard reset your device without using active sync?

Hi!
if you're using windows seven or vista you must have "windows mobile device center" instead "activesync".

perhaps..
You can try going to start>settings>connections>usb to pc
Select "activesync" and unselect the "enable faster data sync" option.
Then try it on your pc again!

flash trough bootloader press volume down when the phone is off then flash trough ruu

first off...
What operating system do you have on your computer?
XP=Active Sync
Unplug your phone from the computer
Scroll down to the setting panel (last panel) scroll right or left and UNcheck the first option.
Plug your phone to the USB
I'll assume you have Windows Mobile 6.
Check the settings on your phone, it is possible that a setting is turned off in ActiveSync.
If your on XP, check your desktop ActiveSync settings, ensure that the USB option is turned on. Also, be sure you have the latest version.
Hope that helps.
make sure you have enabled the advanced network functionality in settings>connections>usb
that is what ^ he said but i thought i would give you a little more specific location for it

Active Sync Connection Problem - PPC Not Being Detected at All

Hey guys, I just came from PDA v23.
I wanted to install crc 14.1 naked bs.
So I installed the at&t stripped version, then crc 14.1 rom.
But after that, I had a lot of problems connecting Active sync with the phone.
I have plugged it into the computer, and it does charge it, but active sync just stays with the gray (idle) icon, nothing happens at all, even if you soft reset it, click on sync or enter the bootloader, nothing happens.
is there something I'm missing?
if it helps, when I plug in the cable, and as soon as it goes in and turns the light amber for charging, activesync does open on the background, but it never syncs not turns green, it does not even try it.
I just tried a different cable that works, and didn't work. Tried another computer and it didn't even bring the message for found new hardware wizard.
Maybe a file was lost, or a driver that recognizes the computer?
I killed the 3 processes from AS:
Wcesmgr.exe
Wcescomm.exe
Rapimgr.exe
And reconnected and opened AS from my phone, and press sync, didn't work.
I also tried restarting computer, neither worked.
I tried using applications that I found to terminate AS like Kill Sync and ReSync, they killed ActiveSync and reopened it, didn't work still.
I've been trying to do this on my work computer, which always worked before the upgrade.
Yesterday I tried connecting the usb into my computer but nothing, also if I connect it to any computer, not even found new hardware wizard comes up.
Tried bluetooth synching, and that worked.
I also tried the WM5 storage prgram, that is not working either.
I thought that maybe I could edit some registry and make this work.
But I tried disabling advanced network functionality, didn't work, enabled it back on, nope.
I think, I'm gonna have to flash it back to the original ROM but as I tried the RUUWrapper is not able to detect my phone, not even on bootloader.
I have a SDHC memory only, and not able to get an SD one.
What can I do in this case?
I have tried multiple things as you can see, and have tried looking on google, but nothing has helped.
I want to see if flashing it to another rom will work, but I'm not able to do it without Active Sync.
How can I flash it back without ActiveSync or fix this Active Sync connection?
Please guys I really need help on this as I'm running out of troubleshooting steps.

did you go to the USB to PC settings and checked the use advanced config?
When I do that it works immediately... maybe try a soft reset and see if it's still
with the right configuration? (unchecked)
Yeah, tried it, but tried it again, checked and restarted and unchecked and restarted, both didn't work.
Thanks for your response.

What the heck did I do?

I'm not sure what i did but when I plug my phone into my Vista equipped laptop, it gives me the "USB device not recognized" message. I have done all the general trouble shooting. A friend has a mogul and for Sh**'s and giggles, I plugged his phone in and wala, the drivers instantly downloaded and WMDC wanted to sync with it. Is there a way to format the phone or someway fix this problem so I could sync, flash the phone, and start from scratch??
Open up Settings\Connections\USB to PC if enable advanced network functionality is checked, uncheck it and try again. Thats what i had to do for my HTC 8525 after upgrading to wm6.

Cannot install RUU from htc dev

So I'm trying to unlock the bootloader so I can install some nice roms.
How ever when I try to install the update RUU HTC advices me to install nothing happens.
I get to "Connect your phone to the computer using the USB cable that came with your phone. Wait a moment for your computer to identify your phone, this may take a few minutes.
If your computer cannot find your phone, you may need to install HTC Sync. You can download HTC Sync here.
"
How ever the phone never gets recognized so running the RUU causes it to load and then close before giving me any options.
Hboot version is 0.90.0000 software version is 2.13.351.1
I've looked all over XDA and google for answers and couldn't find anything that worked.
Is there any other way to flash the RUU ? Fastboot maybe? ( I tried just running the RUU whilst in fastboot usb and it RUU still loads and then closes)
Oh yeah, trying to do all this on Win7 x64
*edit* Running the phone in usb storage mode allowed it to run, how ever thus far it does not seem to be working. Got an error message saying a directory was full. It's now" Veryifing information on your pda phone" been doing it a while though.
First:
Go into Settings, then choose Connect to PC.
Make sure "Ask Me" has a checkmark on it.
Second:
In the settings choose Applications, then Development and make sure USB debugging is checked off also.
When you connect the USB cable to the computer now do you get a message on your phone?
You should have three chooses for USB type; charge only, HTC Synch and Disk Drive.
If you are not getting this option then your computer is not connecting to the phone via USB. Either bad usb cable, bad usb port, or something wrong with the phone.
EDIT
Sorry just saw your edit. disregard my comment.

I get all these options, I can access the disk drive if I choose that option, if I choose sync that works etc.
Only this RUU that gives me problems
*EDIT* WOOO! found a work around, run RUU with storage mode on, then switch back to charge only after accepting disclaimer.
*Edit again* and of course, just as things seem to be going well the installer crashes, now the phone is stuck on some silver HTC logo.
It crashes as soon as it tells the phone to reboot to bootloader.
Bumping this instead of making a new thread.
Still having this issue if anyone can help.
