Reinstalling activesync fixed the problem I had, but it was a little different than this one.

Hi everyone.
I'm having a trouble with my Blue Angel Activesync. After installing and uninstalling Norton Antivirus (I only think this could be the source of the problem), the pocket PC doesn't connect to my PC anymore.
When I put it on the cradle it tries to connect as guest and then quickly disconnect (impossible to establish a relation).
I tried to uninstall and reinstall activesync, with no result. I also tried to use it with another Pc and it worked fine, so I'm convinced that I have a software problem with my PC.
Another interesting thing: if I leave the Blue angle while rebooting the PC Activesync mekes me connect and set the connection properties, but fails to syncronize...then disconnect...
I really don't know what to do.
Thank You in advance.

im stumped cant even connect through bluetooth, but bluetooth file transfers work with bluesolie?
could my rom be currupt?
I have the same problem. After Hard reset my Orbit won't sync with PC. Is possible Rom is broken etc? I tried Sync with 3 computers :/
Can I upgrade/change ROM with bluetooth Sync?
For those of you who are using one PC, try deleting the partnership in ActiveSync or WMC & ensuring the LAC is set to enabled
Hi - I updated to the official HTC rom a while ago and can't sync via usb any more. I've tried on vista (64 and 32 bit) using wmdc6 and 6.1 and xp using active sync 4.5. On a new install it see device tries to active sync and dissapears almost instantly then never connects again. no matter how many times i reboot, hard reset, etc... i can not get the computers to see the diamond or active sync it, nothing. I want to try another rom but can't because the usb won't do anything. I can sync and see the device via blutetooth without an issue, it seems just the usb. Any ideas how to fix this or u;pdate the rom with usb? thanks in advance...
Try putting it into bootloader mode.
Then connect via usb, and try a flash
I'm trying to set up a sync with my work PC, using a standard mini-USB cable (i.e. not the one supplied with the TP2). My home PC syncs fine using a standard cable, but my work PC is saying "USB Device not recognised" when I connect the TP2.
Does anyone have any ideas for how I can fix this?
TIA
Does your works pc have activesync 4.5 installed on it?
Mine gave a similar error until I put it on. You will need administrator priveledges to install
Yes ActiveSync 4.5 is installed - I was previously syncing with my old phone (Eten Glofish M700)
I just managed to resolve it:
- killed the Activesync tasks in task manager (anything beginning with wce*)
- restarted ActiveSync
- deleted the sync settings from my last phone
- plugged the TP2 in again.
hey presto....
I need to change my ROM, becuase this one I have now just totally screwed up, really badly. I dosent save any contacts and just will always fail synchronizing. Ok, my idea is to revert to the stock ROM, and in order to changethe ROM I attempt to connect via ActiveSync and it does the 'Connecting' thing and then it just says Error.
Please help
And now it dosent even recognize at all. When I plug the phone in via USB mode, it does, but when I say connect via active sync, active sync on my pc dosent open up, and when i open up, it dosen't say connect, or connecting just remains disconnected. can you hard reset your device without using active sync?
Hi!
if you're using windows seven or vista you must have "windows mobile device center" instead "activesync".
perhaps..
You can try going to start>settings>connections>usb to pc
Select "activesync" and unselect the "enable faster data sync" option.
Then try it on your pc again!
flash trough bootloader press volume down when the phone is off then flash trough ruu
