Hello,
I have Htc One X, 4.1.1, CID_102, 3.14.401.31. Stock ROM.
It has root, and TWRP.
I have tried flashing the XM kernel and the ncx kernel, and both ended up in bootloop at the "HTC quietly brilliant" screen (stays there a few seconds, before the sound is played, and then restarts).
What can be the problem?
Is it impossible to flash a kernel on a stock ROM?
Thanks

Flash the repacked version for 3.14.401.31
I posted a repacked 106 in the second post
I flashed with one I made before, I'll try later with yours.
Now Can you write me the steps I need to do? I want to make sure I do everything correct.

Thank you very much, your repack worked
One question:
Is it ok to turn on fast charge? I don't want it to ruin the battery somehow with fastcharging or something like that.
And I activate it through the terminal in the recovery?

This is quite difficult.
Have you searched the thread? If you didn't find anything, try asking in the thread.
Do a factory/dalvic/chache wipe again and report. If its still not working, try the kernel provided by mdeejay.

Iam pretty sure that's not possible if he can't even access the bootloader.
I always wondered... once a device is bricked and it would be accepted for repair, how would they
go about reinstalling everything?

I'm sure he can access the bootloader.
I'm sure he didn't brick it.
If the phone was really bricked, they would replace the motherboard.
Ok, sounds weird. He hasn't done anything that could cause such a problem. I'm not assuming you're a noob, but please try to access bootloader mode again; you have to push Volume - and Power at the same time for about ten seconds. If it still doesn't work, wait for official JB RUU. Maybe that could solve your problem.

you can't flash the old firmware, you can't downgrade, have you done a full wipe?

Yup..I done full wipe(super wipe ). I done all the instruction but not successful. Any possible reason?? maybe a broken ROM file??btw i'm back to jbv13......still waiting for mike's updates!!cheers!!:good:
First off, sorry for posting here, I'd like to post in the actual rom thread but I don't have 10 posts yet.
I've installed the avatar rom, its getting to the custom splash screen and then freezing.
This is normally a boot.img problem.
The thing is just I've updated my HBoot to 1.39 and I don't know what boot.img files are compatible.
I've flashed several boot.img files from various roms I've used before, but none seem to be working.
The last comment in the avatar thread is this :
If you're on the new hboot you need a special boot.img that is everywhere on the forums.

Does anybody have any idea where I can find this boot.img that is everywhere on the forums?
Because I can't find it....
You just flash the boot image from within the Rom zip file?
I do that with every other Rom I've tried. I have no idea if/why that Rom requires a special boot.img.

Because some ROMs are incompatible with newer hboots.
@OP
See attachment. I am assuming that a modded boot for CM10 does the trick since Avatar is heavily based on CyanogenMod. Let me know if it works.
You must always use the boot.img supplied in ROM.zip. If you flash ROM A and then use boot.img from ROM B, it ain't going to work.
At the moment you need a special boot.img with nearly all 4.1.x AOSP ROMs, with a new hboot version. With 4.2.x ROMs you don't need any tinkering just flash and go.
Thanks for the modded boot.
Yes dude.
It works.
You awesome genius bastard you.
My pleasure!
It might be worth noting that GPS is broken with this boot. No workaround yet, you need to flash an Android 4.2 ROM if you really need to use it.
Haha dude, spent 3 hours trying to get this ONTO my phone.
I think it'll stay for at least a day or two...
Thanks again.
I need help to recover
Hi,
I am new to rooting, I've unlocked my HTC One X, and have backed up the stock rom through the recovery nandroid, I've flashed the Renovate 1.1 ROM, then I've decided to go back to stock ROM, when I've done it I would be stuck on Airplane mode, and this happened when I first tried to flash the renovate without flashing the boot.img that comes with it...when I've flashed the boot.img the problem is solved...so now I need help getting the boot.img file for the backed up stock rom...any ideas where I can start from?

Hi,
I'd say that for around 90% of roms that I flash I can never get past the white HTC screen (leaving each one for around 20 minutes to see if anything happens).
Using CWM I wipe the phone, flash the ROM, and flash the boot.img . But most of the time this doesn't work. The only two roms that HAVE worked for me are Android Revolution HD and Viper.
Does anyone have any idea why this is the case? Could it be to do with my HBOOT version? (1.39.0000)
Every solution that I have found on here is to flash the boot.img from the rom. But I've done that.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Tom

Yep, I've tried flashing it before and after flashing the ROM. The weird thing is that it works with two ROMS, but not with others (like Cyanogenmod or Paranoid Android)

those have a different type of installation steps...
you have to flash the boot.img through fastboot you know, because one x has no s-off. won't work if you flash boot with cwm recovery
Odp: Stuck on htc quietly brilliant screen
You should also write : fastboot erase cache, after flashing boot.img.

I've still not managed to get most roms to work Could it be something to do with them not being based on the 3.14 RUU? I've jumped up to Android 4.2.2 now and am loving it anyway
And the CM10 needs a modified boot.img file to run on JB hboots.....

usually getting stuck on the htc screen means the kernel you flashed is not compatible with the rom...
apologies if you know this already... but when you get a new rom it's stored in a zip archive, within the zip file a boot.img is usually supplied, it is usually important to flash this boot.img file to enable the rom to boot your phone.
i suspect the two roms you have managed to get to work are happy with which ever kernel version you have.
for example on hboot 1.39 you can flash renovate rom and xminster kernel and have no problems...
What can i do my phone freezes after flashing S. Rom. I flashed first s.rom and after i flashed jw patch the latest version. What can i do? I've done something wrong?
