its been two months now and ive been asking them to send me the new battery. Every time i call in they will say that i should recieve it end of the week or within 2 days but never recieve it...
battery hardly lasts. Cant charge it ovr 85% and phone jumps to red and turns of at 30%.. Its definately the battery issue..
are there any companies like watchdog or something who i can contact? or take any legal action against them because this is just rediculous that even after 2 months i havent recieved my battery
HTC's warranty & repair service is total crap. They make pretty good hardware, but the support isn't good. I had to write a letter and post it to them to get a problem resolved, the online system didn't get me results. Having to post an actual paper letter through the post, to a company formerly called 'High Tech Computer Corporation' is a joke. They finally wrote back to tell me they are now 'taking it seriously'. Isn't that nice?
I'd recommend trying a different route. If you bought your mobile from Amazon, they are very good about helping you out. They gave me a full refund on a year-old phone. If you bought it from a carrier, or somewhere else, just try a nice email to them describing your problem. Explain that you made a effort to do this the correct way, through the manufacturer, and that HTC failed to provide support. Keep it short and state exactly what you want.
Also, if HTC claims they sent a battery, can they provide any tracking number, or other evidence to back this up? Start nailing down the facts, and keep a record of each contact. Get names & dates, and keep everything as short as possible. You can file a complaint with Trading Standards, but this won't get your battery fixed. Save any complaints until after you get the phone fixed, that's what the record keeping is for.
Last, you can try contacting your bank, if you used a credit card or bank card to purchase the phone. They may work with you, or offer their own warranty program. It's worth a try.
Don't give up in frustration, that's what these systems are designed for. Most people simply give up. You will only beat HTC here by being patient and organized. Kick ass and take down names, as they say. Good luck.
My 6 months old HTC Desire HD suddently died yesterday. I tried every way to turn it on, it just does not work:
1. Recharge the battery for the whole night and it is not turned on. The recharging light is not on when it is recharged.
2. Try with a backup battery. I still does not turn on
3. Try to hard reset, still does not turn on.
The worst thing is that my phone was bought in South Korea, and I am currently in the US. Called HTC US customer service center, they just does want to help. The funny thing is one of its staffs spent 20 minutes trying to find a phone number for me but could not find it.
Does anybody know what the problem could be? Is it a hardware failure?
BTW, I will not buy ANY HTC product for its bad warranty and customer service.

So you can't boot to bootloader? Hold vol down and power it.
Even though you bought it from S Korea, you should be able to get it to warranty repair with your phones IMEI code only. You could also try contacting the store you bought the phone from if possible.
No, even I tried the hard reset at you mentioned, it didn't work.
Also, I have called HTC US customer service for few times. As I said Htc's customer service is so terrible. They just don't care about you at all. They let you to get it repaired where you buy it. But the problem is that I will stay in the US for few months so I don't have a chance to use the phone any more.
Maybe I will switch to iPhone on 10/4...
Thanks for your reply and the information.

You should e-mail the HTC customer support one more time. It's often better to email them so they can look into the problem better, without the need to talk on phone at the same time.
The mail could also be forwarded to a technical department. Instead of the mostly useless people on so called "front line" of the phone customer service.
I don't mean to insult anyone personally. Big companies just do hire almost anyone to "first wave" and all the people who are really experts on phones are on so-called "second wave" where to the problems are sometimes forwarded.
Thanks for your tips. I am going to send the e-mail right now.

No useful information from your first post ? What happens when you turn on the phone ? White screen ? Can you go to bootloader mode ?
In my opinion two things are possible - the ROM memory is very badly damaged (hardware issue) and have to pay to repair it . The second - the ROM/Build is broken and have to preinstall it. Unfortunatelly I don't know is it possible only by cable. If the case was for the good old HD2 it's easy, but no easy way for DesireHD.
So, go to a service, pay to someone to flash the phone (in a special box). In Bulgaria that will cost you 20 euro (about 30$), but it USA - no idea.
P.S. I mean unofficial customer service. In official HTC service will take you much money and you may have a problems. Don't worry - in the official service can't realize, that the phone is flashed in unofficial way.
No, when the phone is turned on, there is just nothing shown on the screen. It is like a brick. That is really wired.

I have sent an e-mail to HTC support. Let's see what they will tell me.
If the answer is to bring the phone to Korea for servicing, send it via mail to a friend of you. It will cost you much lower, than paing in USA.

If HTC replaced your touch screen send it back to them,if you replaced the touch screen then you have to open again and make sure that everything is well connected or may be your new screen is bad
Sent from my Desire HD using xda premium
You say the led doesn't come on when charging?
Have you tried another charger?
Sent from my HTC Desire HD A9191 using xda app-developers app
Try connecting the phone to the computer via USB. If it enumerates under QHUSB_DLOAD then you either need JTAG or motherboard replacement.
Maybe someone can help me with my DHD, i could't find a thread with my problem....
My DHD wo't turn on, but it happend in another way...

Now I know what happend to our Phone!!!
The HBOOT on our phone is damaged or it had an incorrect installation of it, so that the phone is bricked.
The solution for this problem is, that you can send your phone to mobiletechvideos (just google it) and they have the necessary components and software, which can repair your phone. But it will cost you some dollars, but at least it isn't so expensive so that you can live with it, so I think.

Ok, chill. didn't you read this?: DO NOT USE THIS IF YOUR PHONE CAME WITH GINGERBREAD
So you messed the bootloader. There is no jtag for HTC devices. Hboot fix is not easy nor fast. Pull the battery and put it back. Keep pressing power + volumen down until you get to the white splash screen. That might take a while, but you will eventually get to hboot. If you manage to get to hboot just let me know and i will lend you a hand.

So you lied and claimed a warranty replacement for irresponsible actions that you performed while modding the phone. That is immoral and fraud.
Phones aren't for "playing" with, and it sounds like you were doing things without the proper knowledge; or at least not taking the proper care. If you are going to experiment and play around, you need to take responsibility for your actions and be prepared to replace or repair the phone with your own money. If you aren't willing to take that responsibility, don't mod the phone.
If there is any wonder why phone manufacturers lock bootloaders, s-on etc. in the first place; its due to irresponsible actions like this.

It unlikely that you did the exact same thing as the OP; and he didn't clearly state what he did anyway. Don't be lazy and just jump on another person's thread and say "me too". The details of your condition and what you did are almost always going to be different than the "other guy".
You need to state the exact details of what you did, otherwise its impossible for anyone to help you, and you won't get any response here.

Obviously, if a phone is not modded and stops working within the warranty period, its eligible for repair. There is no particularly useful information in your posts.

It isn't merely a matter of right or wrong, though it is certainly that as well. Every time someone pulls a stunt like this, we all suffer. Samsung used to make the most open phones on the market, and I'm not even talking purely about Android. I was able to sideload Java apps onto my Flight II long before I could afford a smart phone. I have a nearly unbrickable Galaxy S2. You can use Odin to write to practically any memory on the device. Getting root on that phone was as easy as pushing CWM, booting it, and rooting it.
Now? You can't even get root on an S4 or S5 without cracking the security software, and front and center is the Knox warranty validation counter to watch you. Why is it there? Because of mess like this.
It is one thing to complain about an unrelated hardware problem not being covered because you are S-off or boot loader unlocked. I would be ticked if I couldn't get my camera, hardware buttons, or screen replaced because of that. However, to brick a phone and try to get it replaced for free? Nope, you rolled the dice, you take the cards. Otherwise, don't complain when HTC starts encrypting the boot loader and HTCdev goes away. These are literally some of the last flagship phones on the market that are still "open".

Hello.
not because of laziness.
Because of the weakness of my english.
I'd read about the problem until now were the same.
does not turn on.
can not be charged.
Can not access recovery menu etc etc.
It was when formatting the SD card.
I've written more than size when formatting section.
I think the reason you do not like writing long.
but again, thank you for responding.
Thank you.
But no one ask for your opinion obviously so u can keep it for u and thread is just for information purposes so I just take risks and I been lucky enough to get new phone obviously HTC could just charge me for repair I did not ask them for new phone

Not sure what you are trying to say with that last line, but giving the as much specific information and detail as possible is always going to be better when asking for help. Its these seemingly minor details that often times differentiate one problem for another, and therefore the solution (if there is one).
I understand that English is not your first language. But if you want help here (English language forum), you are going to just have to try a little harder than a native English speaker; and we will try to work with you and help you as much as possible.
How exactly did you format the SD card? Do you mean the internal storage (not removable SD)?
If you somehow wrote over the hboot partition or partition table, you aren't going to be able to recovery except by JTAG service.

As jshamlet states quite well above, such behavior impacts the modding community as a whole.

This thread has served its purpose and so I'm closing it. We do not encourage anyone to defraud a phone manufacturer. Knowing the great company that HTC is, they probably would have replaced the phone anyway.
Well i just got a brand new Moto Z2 Force and as I was setting up, i noticed the WiFi connection stopped working from time to time. I thought it was mi WiFi network, but issue was persistent on any WiFi network. I bought it on December 30, 2017
What I have done so far:
- Restore to its factory settings (didn't solve the problem)
- Update software 7.1 (didn't solve the problem)
- I took it to the carrier I bought it from, (They kept it for 12 hours to monitor its issue) (didn't solve the problem)
They told me, since its not a carrier issue, I should contact Motorola directly.
- I called Motorola support, and they told me that the phone needs to be sent to be repaired. Since its a common issue regarding WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, what really pissed me off, was the word "repair", i explained that, why I should get a repaired/refurbished phone, since i pay full for a new phone and they explained that, thats how Motorola respect their "warranties". Repairing a defective device.
Since I live in Mexico, warranties here are a big pain in the ...
I know carriers in the US, have a 15 or 30 day, hassel-free return policy. But in Mexico, once you take it out of the box, its your problem.
Im pretty annoyed since I have the Moto Z Play and this phone works perfectly, thats why I went for the newer Motorola. Since I know how Motorola respects their warranty im never buying a Motorola again.
UPDATE
After going back and forth, the carrier decided that was a DOA phone and gave me a brand new one. I'm been using it for a week now and no issue whatsover.
Just some bluetooth disconnections from time to time, but i can live with that hoping for a software update fix.
Hi there!, calm down, i'm here to save you, but first off, i'm form Mexico too, and yeah, thw warranty here is some kinda tricky, but with Telcel you got the option between 30 days after the purchase to get a new one. But whatever, that time passed already.
Ok, first, tell me if you got the next issues:
Sudden disconnections
Horribly and stupid process to connect after a "breakdown" happens.
When you were connected (Luckiest thing ever), did you noticed that sometimes the speed goes like ZERO kb/s, it tooks like years to load an HD video form youtube?
If your phone shows all these sympthoms, welcome to hell, and i got some good news for you, the problem is not 100% the phone, for some reason, this problem starts when you update all the stuff form Play Store. So the phone is "physically" OK.
If you want further assistance you can send me a PM with your phone number, i'll be in touch shortly.
I'm glad to help you.

OT - I'm sorry, but this smacks of a scam. You don't need a phone number for anything, and if you have a fix, post it for others to use. What could be so secret as to warrant a PM.
I have had WiFi drops / performance issues with other devices with the same chipset, and it was fixed splitting the 5 and 2.4 into separate WiFi connections.

Hi there, first off, you have to turn on the phone in Secure mode - Long press "shut down" and then accept to turn on the Phone in secure mode.
Then, you have to test the wifi functions in this mode, if everything works fine, the problem it's not something about the HW of the Moto Z2 Force, but the problem it's a process which is causing this wifi disconnections, slow wifi etc..
Now you have to identify which process i scausing this, if you ask me, i've found that Google Play Services i scausing the problems, so i've tried many different versions and now it's working great, no wifi disconnections, FULL speed, and no other problems.
Let me know if i can help you out with more information, sometimes it's hard to write through a phone jaja.

Wanting to file class action lawsuit
Well it's as plain as I can make it; after attempting to contact support for help with my Z2 Force's WiFi issues; which go figure I find out is a known issue since DAY 1. They won't fix it because the warranty ended 11/18/2018. I explained I found over 17 pages on just Lenovo's website of issues and Motorola and Lenovo did nothing. They still won't do anything they want 150$ to look at it and then they may give me a replacement z2 force. I've had enough I am starting the process of a class action lawsuit against Motorola; and Lenovo and I wanted others to reach out to me. If you've had issues please contact me. Thanks

My s z2force (1789 05) sometimes disconnects the network (including wifi). When playing games, it is usually used. I feel that this is not a big problem. I was on a lg v30. This problem is more serious.
A Redmi account is added into it. What I can do. please help I cudnt able to break through it
ıf it has a sim card keep it charged, the owner will probably try to call it.
Do what you would want done for you.

Be prepared to get in trouble if the original owner files a report to police for lost phone. It's better you either try to contact back the owner and return it, or report to nearest police station where you found it. If you want to use it for yourself, there are grey methods available, but it will always be risky if the IMEI of the device is reported to police/network provider. So good luck with it
Wow...

Wow u r asking the community to help you steal someone's phone. The owner can easily track you.Simply return it by contacting the owner or go to a police station and submit the phone over there and if you are going to keep it get ready to get into big trouble
Try calling 911 or 100 and then ask them you found this phone on lying road and tell them to unlock it. Then the phone will be sucessfully unlocked. Please dont switch off that phone else owner will be able to track it if phone is switched off. Good luck

Wtf
Guys I do want to return it but the problem is sim card is not there and mobile not opening why u guys Makin me thief, I just wanted to get into it so I cud find the contacts of the seller and return it to him....I was in a trip, I was like 500km far from where am I now. If I even return it the local police station I am not sure if they are going to give it back to the real owner. Or might be possible police they sell it back to someone, I don't trust those money seeking policemen... I was asking a solution for it. Dammit my title was I found a phone in the road, not I want to steal someone's phone. Don't judge before knowing anything. If I wanted to scam the phone I cud have come up with another story like I bought a phone from a guy and it's locked but i didn't.
Thanks man

Well I am sorry man if I hurt you but your title was somewhat misleading, it felt more like you found a phone and can't get into it and somehow if you can break in then the thing would be yours to keep. Most of us got the same meaning from your heading. Anyways I am sorry again if I was rude and too quick to judge you.As for the phone it is locked and you can't get into it even if u hard reset the phone miui won't allow you to get in until you sign in with the same mi id.You are not going to go to police station as you are not in the area where you found it and I understand that. Now to me the solutions include using the IMEI no to find the owner.Second if the bootloader is unlocked flash a custom ROM which will allow you to get into the device but will wipe every contact information from phone though you can still access the owner's files which may help you to track him.And thirdly if u fail to do the above two things keep it connected to internet through WiFi or mobile data which may help the owner to track the phone. If u fail in all these I think it is better to give it to a police station as you will be safe in every aspect and you will not get into any potential mess. And if u have made your mind not to contact police then the phone is yours to keep
Try contacting the police as soon as possible cuz if you're found it's not going to be your intentions but the fact you owned the device without taking to the police which will be seen.
Try posting on MIUI forum. Let them know IMEI number, and probably they can let know which user ID/phone number it is tagged to. Once you get the phone number, maybe you can call it up?
You have done a great job so far, keep up the good work
