Well I have made a mistake to buy a refurbished Wildfire S and after a few days of use I have come to know that sometimes earphone speaker doesn't work. It does work occasionally but it randomly stops working in calls. There isn't any HTC authorized service center near my location. There is only one technician with good knowledge of mobile phones and he said its a faulty earphone speaker but I didn't allow him to take apart my phone to replace the speaker. In my opinion it can be a problem with the contacts of the speaker and I can take it apart to look into that but first I need help from you guys. I have tried to flash different ROMs including EQDKP and SpeedDroid and then back to stock but the problem occurs in each of them. My phone is S-OFF. What do you guys think?
Edit: I can hear the sound when I switch to loud speaker.

Yeah you are right but its too difficult for me to spare some time in weekdays as authorized service centers are closed on weekends. I was thinking to take it apart myself just to see whether there are some loose contacts.

yeah do what you think its right.but sometimes its just not working.you have to replace this part.good luck anyways.
Day before yesterday, I talked to the same local technician who told me that sometimes the problem occurs due to loose screws as the earpiece just touches the main board and is not connected by any solder etc. So I checked the upper two screws and found out that both were loose. So I tightened them and after that problem was gone. Earpiece is working good. I'll check it for one or two more days then update.

haha that sucks man.might you reallly check out your phone with htc guys.
i have very good cum bad experience with service center.
5 times PCB change,2 times display,1 time speakers and all,1 time UI buttons,3 times battery.
all things came up in warranty to thank god.or it ll cost me upto INR 30,000+
but last time when i changed my PCB then after i flashed around 200+ times still no problem.:good:
PS when you get free time go to service center our phone has deeper hardware than just bunch of loose wires.

You are right but I took the risk by replacing the earpiece from that local technician and now its working fine. It was very difficult for me to drive 3 hrs to islamabad (where HTC service center is located) and give them my phone to hear that they'll return it after one week. I'm praying now that it wont bother me again...
Hope so..
For me service center is near to my home around 5 kms..and great news is they wont see ur bootloader state..they just need stock rom with stock recovery.

Well I buy my defy about 3 months ago...and yesterday the earpiece just died ...I make this......just to tell the people that the defy made in april and whit foyo...can be defected...AFAIK the defected defy were the ones made in febrary.
I´m from argentina and my carrier is personal....and I just re flash the original rom and send it to the warranty...
same thing happened to me.. bought it 4 months ago, running custom rom so i reflashed 2.2 froyo and sent it to the service center..
Ouch! I'm about to buy a defy this month. This makes me rethink
Common problem, can get it fixed by the carrier or replace with better earpiece (SE K850i earpiece)
Search the forum, there's instructions and experiences all around
I have only one service centre in Bangalore. It's too far from my residence (25 km). Getting it fixed will be a nightmare to me...

I normally practise to set my ear piece volume 10/15. I never put it highest to 15. Hope this will more lasting as I hate sendiing it to service centre..

LOL! I wish you should visit Bangalore to see the actual traffic... It takes minimum 2 hours to reach that 25 km distance..
Anyway, I hope that I won't get the earpiece problem with July 2011 manufactured devices...
dude even i live in bangalore and its really far from my place too lol.. mine got screwed cause i dropped it really really badly. and only the earpiece got loose. still worked if i shook it a few times but sent it to them anyway
My Defy earpiece is dead now after 6 month of use. :-( This is the worst mobile phone i have ever used. There is no service center near by me. I dont know wht to now. I am planning to throw it away.
Buy an earpiece on ebay. I bought a couple myself and when a died replaceing took less than ten minutes so don't worry too much 4 usd and ten minutes is to few to worry too much about

Well first U have to figure out what reason cause this. Is this becuz of the software or the hardware? Try to flash another clean and stable Rom and see if your button is working now. If not,well...Go to the prepair store to try to fix it...Cheers
well.. my volume rocker just stopped working aswell, and it is caused by hardware fault.
it is completely loose aswell. and i think i can live with it..
you just have to find workarounds for things like vibration mode and stuff like that.
there are apps in the market that can help you.

There are kits on ebay (or other websites) that include a tool to take phone apart and install a new volume rocker. I did this and it now works better than it did before. However, the volume up does not work, only volume down, but that could be due to the fact I may have done it wrong
if it is not a software issue you gonna have to open phone...
check that metal piece(look picture) on flex that is on right place,
and also check that it makes "click" when you press it with a nail or pencil.
if it is not in right place it wont make contact and it won't work.
to place it in position you can try using hair dryer, heat it and move it to center(look picture to see where it must be)
why that happens?
combination of high temperature (in the car during the summer...) and high usage of volume button.
This has been happening to me for a few months too. It clicks but nothing happens, I can't get it fixed and I've flashed dozens of ROMs so it's not a software issue.

This problem started only today. The screen literally flickers like a malfunctioning tube-light. I have dropped my Xperia ZL at the service center as they want to "observe" it. I would like nothing short of a replacement unit from Sony. It's been 30 days since I purchased the product. I also had a faulty charger when I first purchased the phone. Btw, I am from India and the phone model number is C6502.
My main intention is to get a replacement unit as I don't want my phone sent to the repair center as early as one month after purchase.
Any inputs regarding this will be greatly appreciated.

as long as u replace it within the replacement period its good ..either 15-30 days i guess .
otherwise they will only repair it .however if it is found to be a phone fault like maybe a lose wire they may not charge u
you should have straight away said replace it .
service centres here in india have a knack to be annoying and not replace it

Guess what!
I had got a faulty charger out of the box. I got it exchanged for a new one with the dealer. After 30 days, the display is screwed, flickering like a spoiled tube light.
The staff at the service center is absolutely rude and abusive and cannot communicate properly in English and the customers are made to wait for unnecessarily long durations to get a reply/answer. The problem as detected by the service center is with the phone's motherboard.
Sony India is not willing to replace my unit with a new one and is not willing to refund the amount either. They have told me that they will be replacing the motherboard only and nothing more. I don't trust these idiots anymore. What I need is a replacement unit or a complete refund.
Any suggestions?

Yes, for free. I am looking for a complete device replacement. I do not want them to replace my motherboard but the entire phone itself. Motherboard failing in a month - completely unacceptable. I just cannot imagine my new phone falling into the hands of those disgusting animals at the service center.
I just saw my xperia zl flckering or something like that. i was listening to music and lock the phone, and when I turn the screen on the lockscreen it was flickering and the song was stoped, i had to unlock it for it to stop.... mmm

Agreed I as well have come to this conclusion. Once unlocking my phones code it randomly flickers for a couple of minutes then once I let the brightness settle in (usually change to auto-brightness) I tend to not notice it. Definitely a software type of bug in .423
Im using d855 , from the beginning the call clarity is very poor, calls are having distortion like broken voices
while talking with the phone ear piece. The other end ie the person receiving call is having no issues at all.
Headphone and loudspeaker clarity is better.
Is it a faulty ear piece or a some software problem.
Is there any one else facing the same problem.
Please help.
Maybe faulty, have you tried rebooting and seeing if that helps?
I have to say my G3 is much better than my previous note 3 or Htc one for call clarity

Great to hear that you getting good clarity on G3 than other devices.
Tried rebooting and resetting the device but no luck.
My intention is to make sure whether its a software bug or hard ware fault before handing over to the

Hi @mpt123
I have the same problem here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/poor-call-quality-distortion-noise-t2808530
But, I can't consistently reproduce it - last evening it was consistently terrible, this morning it is consistently fine. I haven't rebooted in-between so I can't work out what is going on.
One thing is - I do frequently connect and disconnect from Bluetooth headset in my car - and I wonder whether this has any influence. Do you use a BT headset?
Also, do you find it is ALWAYS bad, or is it inconsistent like mine?

Hi, this problem is consistent for me all the time.
I'm using it with my headset, speaker mode and bluetooth , all of these worked well without any problem.
I have given this to LG service center and they confirmed it is due to the faulty earpiece.
They asked me to wait for 3 days to do the repairing . I took it back given to the showroom where i purchased
it, the manager promised me tomorrow they will get it replaced with a new one as my demand.
Also for your information in my case i did reset my mob, flashed it with the European firmware to make sure that the
problem is with hardware.
Hope this information will be useful for you at some time.

Yes I had the same problem with my earpiece. I went to CPW and got it exchanged, which was a bit of a hassle because I had to set the phone up again. Although I do have to say the LG Backup software is actually rather good. Backed up my homescreen layout and settings so not too bad.
However I now have a brand new phone and it has exactly the same issues with crackling and vibration. Almost like the speaker is too loud for itself but it really is not that loud or clear.
Do you think I should try to get another replacement?

I'm interested to know what network you are on? And does the crackling always happen, or is it only if you're in bad coverage area? Or some other cause/factor?
Tonight my phone behaves fine, but I'm worried there is some problem.

I am with Vodafone. I had the same thought just this afternoon and I think maybe it might be a signal problem. It seems to be worse when I am at home where I have full 4G coverage. I am going to turn off 4G tomorrow and do some testing just using 3G and see the difference.
Will keep you posted!

Hi I made a post on the other thread as I have the same problem. I'm also on Vodafone. I'm only in a 3g area not 4g but as I'm using a Three network handset I have no option to just switch to GSM.
I have however tried Skype through wifi and data and the earpiece is crystal clear so I agree this appears to be either software or network related.
Will keep you posted!

I called CPW today and they were great. Took it to my local outlet and they swapped it out for a new handset without any hassle at all. They have a 28 day exchange policy which they totally seem to honour.
Not had a lot of chance to test the replacement, but the calls I have made have been crystal clear with no noise, crackling, or distortion. Will update again after a few days.
To re-cap: I had crackling and distortion on the majority of calls but only when using the earpiece - sometime it was worse than other times. It was always fine when in speaker mode or using bluetooth. New handset doesn't seem to have this problem.

I had my phone replacement yesterday with a new one ,the earpiece is very clear though is not that that loud but iam very happy
with it bcz the earpiece on the previous one was so noisy with crackling sounds and i had to use my headphones all the time.
I have seen many reviews with excellent results on call clarity and all , so its shouldnt be a common problem with the phone.
Try to switch the network and compare the clarity , if the results are same then go for replacement.
I have exactly the same problem... All the way here in HK!
There may be a Faulty production batch. Unfortunately the retailers in HK only do 10 Days Swaps so will have to hit the LG Service Center... hopefully it is covered by the Warranty!

LG G3 Earpiece Noise Problem
Unfortunately before buying this handset I have not checked about the problems that already exists. I also got G3 with same earpiece digital noise/ buzzing noise problem which usually comes when it first try to connect after dialing the number and then it comes during the call also.
I got 1 phone replaced in Bangalore Sangeetha within 2 days of purchase and the 2nd phone also have the same problem. It seems some batch problem. This is my first LG phone and hopefully the last one.
I have given 2nd phone back to Sangeetha although they suggested me to go to LG center. I don't know where this phone will take me, preparing for a customer court :crying:
I've got this problem with my D850 in the UK on Three, I hear a crack or pop a few times during a call. Has anyone tried turning off noise suppression and voice enhancement in call settings to see if that makes any difference?
I turned off voice enhancement and call quality has improved so far.

Any update? I am in the same shoes as you. Will be sending mine for repair this Monday.
Happened to me too. I lightly tapped the side of my phone on a table and vibration came back. Very odd!

*UPDATE*

Hi
i also just bought an HTC M9, huge fan of HTC.
Anyways, i had the same problem where the vibration stopped working at times. If i hit the phone on one of the sides, it worked for a while, and while i was diagnosing, i could hear that something was loose inside, so i decided to get all the gear needed (did not wanna bother with sending it in and spend 14 days without a phone, its 2016 FFS ), and open the phone, easy enough.
Inside i could see a piece of loosened solder metal, and after i removed this its been working fine ever since.
So my guess is that this piece of solder metal is a common weakness of this phone and would at times get stuck between motor.
So if your motor is not working, try *#*#3424#*#*, run vibration test and listen for small clicking noises, if thats there, then im certain its the same fault as i had in my phone.
Hello, for those who have the problem of vibration that no longer works, before sending it in for service try the following steps (I so I solved the problem!):
Remove the microSD slot and blow hard inside.
Magically my M9 has started to vibrate forever ....
Hey guys, just wanted to share my experience. I too had the exact same problem. Few taps on the right corner and vibration was back, but always stopped working again.
I tried the "blow hard" method and didnt work.
Took my M9 to my local tech-hardware guru and after opening it we found the problem. Seems that the motor is defective, its like "really tight" in its interior. For the amount of posts on this thread could be a faulty batch of motors that HTC installed on some devices.
What he did was desoldier the 2 cables that bo to the motherboard, raplced with another motor he had on stock. Its not the original one, but one that fitted perfectly. Solder it again and vuala! Worked perfectly.
Only thing i noticed after the quick fix was the motor he installed does not have the same "power" or "feeling" as the original, seems a bit a TINY BIT less powerfull, but works perfecly.
So if you have this problem, just take it to your local tech saavy guy or if you have warranty sent it to HTC, but the tech guy fix will be 100 times faster. he fixed mine in 10 minutes.
Regards!
