well wp7 is not for me all in what wm6.5 is good and why I want to use it wp7 is not near as good old 6.5 BUT??????????
what you think if we can port 6.5 on new high end devices of wp7 ???????, leave your post here I am still waiting for HTC first wp7 device and will try to make 6.5 work on it if not will buy leo cant wait november

And good luck writing new WM drivers for you new hardware! HTC for sure won't hesitate to give you their specs.
I guess we have reached the end of road here. If you don't like WP7 and still want up-to-date hardware then there's no choice but jump to another OS.

I was talking with some devs and have answer from one of them he can do that for 30 days write new drivers for htc device so will wait and see I wanna hear your mind do you want that or not
no can that be done or not that is mine problem to find someone to do that for me

I'm sorry, but your lack of grammar in your posts concerns me that you're not serious about Windows Mobile 6.5 on a WP7 device, you're just joking around. Just an observation.

The devices aren't even out yet, how can your be serious about it? On which decision do you buy a new phone? I don't get it? And what's the advantage anyway of having WM 6.5 run on one of the WP7 first-launch-devices? They are not very different compared to HD2. And if they have some additional graphics chips thingy you first need such drivers as well. Throw in another bunch of 100 euros, seems like you got enough of them available

no sorry, I think requests for such ridiculous and crazy ideas are nothing but annoying. people who might be able to do such things for sure don't take their ideas from stupid threads like this one. so in your case I'd rather shut up and wait and see what happens. if someone IS able to do it then you will discover it one day. no need to trying to "accelerate" the process. there's no need to spam the forums with such "groundbreaking ideas that noone ever imagined before" (Yes, sure) and if you can't contribute any real content then please don't post anything at all. well this is in the WP7 thread, and this clearly says it all in the title...so how is that considered "spamming" of the threads. Don't open and read the thread if you dont wanna be involved with it.
In the near future i absolutly think its crazy that WP7 will be able to work our devices...however down the road months after WP7 has been released i CAN GURANTEE YOU one way or another its going to get ported over. There is no doubt in my mind that it wont be. The kernel and the core of WP7 already still has resembles to WM6.5, granted many other things has changed, the same core and idea remains similiar.
If we got android on our devices, theres no reason why a newer version of windows cant be....the question is HOW LONG, and WHAT DEVICES
now im still running a diamond, and honeslty anybody whose running a diamond/touch pro/diamond 2/touch pro 2/etc...WP7 WILL NOT BE AN EVERYDAY device for you... i think the HD2 will be the ONLY device that can run WP7 efficiently as a day in day out device.
hell sense 2012 runs sluggish on our devices and that was specifically created for our devices, so to load on an extremely heavy detailed OS like WP7 is just crazy.
To answer everyones question? YES WP7 WILL COME OUT ONE WAY OR ANOTHER TO Windows Mobile phones. Will it work efficiently for any device before the HD2? NOPE.

Yes, go read the title again. it clearly says it's not about porting WP7 to HD2.....
And yes, I don't like WP7, but still I want to stay up-to-date and check out what's happening around it, that's why I'm reading in the section. And THIS rant was not directed against WP7 but to people SPAMMING the board with such requests. Like I said before if some dev. is ever able to do it, fine, that's great, but as long as this is SOOO FAR AWAY I think such threads are just hilarious. How could someone takes this for serious if the devices itself don't even exist right now???
Edit: to make my point a bit more clearer. In the dev. section there's is somewhere an app to imitate the WP7 notifications on WM. I think that's absolutely horrible, I don't need it, but I don't go and post in the thread "This sucks, I hate it" because the guy who developed it did actually something. It's some development and that's what XDA is about..... compared to THIS thread which is only SPAM, **** talk, whatever you call it....

I agree 100%.
Though it is sometimes hard to tell if one is being duped or not by a troll exploiting the relentless imagination and audacity of XDA-developers to imagine things said to be "IMPOSSIBLE!", this is also an international community site -- and I don't even know but perhaps over 100 countries and languages represented here. English tends to be the unifying language, and for us native English-langauge speakers like myself, I have it simple. For people struggling with English as a second or third language, it indeed can be a very difficult thing to interact here at XDA.
No one should ever be criticized for their efforts in trying to be understood due to language barriers. And until such time as it's shown beyond a reasonable doubt that the OP is just tooling people around, it's disrespectful to attack a poster for language & grammar.
I'll add this:

I really do understand this point -- and this is how I break it down: Using the example I used above, if someone like "darkstar62" were posting in the HACKING subforum that he is leading an initiative to "make this happen", then it would be perfectly valid here right now.
But to me it belongs in GENERAL, along with threads like "WP7 Epic Fail" -- because it's more theoretical and ideation vs a PROJECT. I don't begrudge the expression of the idea at all, even if it may not sound original. The problem here is simply that it's in the wrong forum, and if moved by a mod, it would be fine elsewhere.
My own view is that we have an enthusiastic WM user who, like so may, is bummed about the WP7 direction, and whether highly original or not, is thinking "well if MS won't support WM6.5, why not have XDA-devs carry it forward, if we can get it to run on the new phones... That way we can all take advantage of the new hardware that will keep coming, and for those who want to abandon the WP7 software, there could possibly be another path.
Nothing at all wrong with this thought. Please let's not kill enthusiasm. But if you feel it's either trolling or inappropriate for this forum, that's a completely different matter. In my view, it should be moved to Windows Phone GENERAL, and then it lives or dies just like any other thread... but it need not be trashed. It can die of attrition if no interest.

Im sure you probably do contribute in other posts and have helped many people out.
I just thought it was a bit harsh to ping the guy for having an idea (even if it may be in the wrong forum)
I dont know much about WM7 at all, I heard something about no USB thumbdrive mode or multitasking (maybe that has changed? it was an old post) In that case people around here generally like to have a lot of control of their devices so maybe there would be a lot of interest in WM6.5 or android for WM7 devices?

Apple targets 8 Samsung phones for sales ban

Here is the article. I think Apple is going a little over board with the last line of the article.
In its filing, Apple says this list is only "to address a portion of the immediate, ongoing irreparable harm that Apple is suffering."
Ongoing? Irreparable? So I am assuming that Apple thinks everybody that bought a Samsung Galaxy phone thought they were buying the iPhone. I would love to see an estimate as to how many people really thought they were buying an iPhone when none of these phones had "iPhone" "Apple" or the Apple logo on the phone.

I think it's fixed now. But yea. I think Apple is really overdoing it now. And the article states out of 28 devices. So I don't think this is more or less about patents anymore. It's more of Apple wanting to be the only smartphone out there that American people can buy.

they are even suing samsung for making ''rectangular'' phones.

I don't necessarily think that apples phones are ****ty. I think they are a good smartphone. Samsung and apple are two very good companies. And apple started by providing a quality phone straight across the board and great customer service. So now Samsung finally caught on to the strategy that was obviously working and decided to do the same in its own way.
Android is the kicker that is scaring apple. Because apple is open source and the open community is doing outstanding things and pushing android past its "boundaries". In return this is what Samsung used to become as important in the smartphone market. We see the same in others. HTC...
So because android and Samsung are such a threat to apple, they decide to sue hoping to destroy Samsung's and slow down the android momentum. But now that Google is involved who happens to be a big bad ass. Apple will ultimately lose or setting to drop charges.
This is definitely a fight that can go both ways. And no doubt we are in to experience and epic dual between Samsung/Google (android in general) and apple.

Apple is definitely taking this a bit too far. Insecurity? Maybe. Though Apple's products so far have been really nice, I find it a little disturbing that a patent for designs can even be issued...that too based on the shape. The monopoly that will (?) follow would not be in favour of the industry nor would it be in favour of the customers.

Though I will admit that the droid charge can be banned from earth as far as that goes.

I am not sure Nazi Apple are targeting Sprints GS2 but I heard rumors that Boost Mobile is going to release that phone for Sprints Prepaid line up.

I've been reading all about this, and I am just APPALLED if I have to pick a word! Apple's mama needs to spank them and put them in time out for acting like a bunch of immature, spoiled, bully brats! Its been proven that geekbench 2 score is false the real one put the s3 at like 1628 which was higher then the iphone 5
And even if the iphone 5 was faster i still can do 3x as much on my s3

I have and iPhone 5 with me got it yesterday... Unlike most people I like to test devices before judging, phone is great... Good upgrade from 4 not 4S(had both) feel amazing on the hand and weird the long screen really sucks for most apps the haven't been updated.. Typing takes me forever thanks to the small screen... Hardware wise this phones is great! Software even tho it got amazing games and apps it just needs a revamp! Apple should have take chances and make really differences to the OS but guess they wanted to keep it safe... It will sell good for sure... The one thing android needs is cloud backup it was really good to restore my cloud iPhone 4s backup, every app log in with all my stats and what not but at the end in staying with the gs3 as my daily driver. The one thing my gs3 needs is better stand by time for sure but I order extra battery for now

And benchmarks don't mean anything if that phone can't do what you wanted to do... Btw I used to be flasher and all but got tired of it. My gs3 is back to stock and running good not hiccups

I got my iPhone 5 on Friday & i love it.. I've had a Samsung intercept, Motorola triumph, S2 and a S3. I never could say i love them. I watch Android advance from 2.1 to 4.1 & it was fun flashing roms & tweaking them. I'm now a senior in high school taking college classes I just don't have the time anymore. When i got the iPhone it just worked with no bloatware & so many things bugging down the phone.

Dude, that is great for you. But I don't think anybody cares if you don't like Android anymore because you are too busy. Most people on these forums don't really care about build quality or specs of a phone. They like the openness of Android and like making there phone unique with customization. Many people here love to code, make apps and improve source code. Obviously they can't do that with an iPhone, much less get their app approved for the app store.
All you ever talk about is the iPhone and bash Android on a android developer forum. Just by the phones you said you had, I can say you've never experienced a pure Android experience such as the Nexus phones which also just works and has no bloatware. Why don't you go to an iPhone forum and talk about how polished and great your new iPhone is.
Fanboys from either side will never understand why others love the OS they choose. Personally iPhone is a great phone and they have great customer service. The phone is simple and just works like you said but I don't like the iPhone because I like choice. Tough crowd. I personally didn't find his post insulting. However, I wouldn't ever post stuff on an Iphone forum about android. But again I'm not 20 years old. I think we need to be understanding of other peoples opinions regardless.
I will admit, I was one of the dickheads that bought and Iphone 1 on the first day and I loved them for a long time. I just didn't want to be a lemming any longer. And once I started flashing roms I am just hooked on messing with my phones. This is the main reason I don't buy HTC's any longer.

I did my own comparison using my s3 and iphone 5 the s3 smoked it browsing speed and all

Sold my Nexus a day before yesterday for PKR 33,000 (about $340, yes they are expensive in Pakistan). Now waiting for the next Nexus to launch and then I'll upgrade. Meanwhile rocking an old Nokia dumb phone.

I love the way I have to use iTunes to move music/videos etc to my phone. And better yet, the range of expensive products you can buy with a special lightning connector (with a name like that it must be fast!) is way better than micro USB.
I recommend this phone to everyone with a crappy Nexus.

You think you're cool/funny? This only confirms how insecure Android retards are. Android is the only legacy OS remaining when compared to iOS, Windows Mobile, and Blackberry 10.
OMG did someone just make a slightly negative remark towards Android? OMG there's absolutely no way it's true in any way. They must be burned alive.
Edit: I don't plan on leaving my Galaxy Nexus just yet. I've gotten used to the crappy screen, and performance has been great since Jellybean, so I can't complain. I'm looking closely at Blackberry 10 to see if it is worthy of jumping ships when it comes out, but otherwise, my next phone will be the next Nexus (hopefully Sony)

I know what you mean! It has five rows, that is a game changer. The screen is just big enough now for Apple to display all my favorite ads while i browse through my apps and play games. And the maps are so much better now that they got rid of Google. And since Apple also removed the YouTube app and is doing their best to block all forms of YouTube over DLNA, I don't have to worry about watching YouTube videos on the tv. Because why would I want to watch cat videos on a big screen when I've got four inches of the new mother f*cking iPhone in my hand!
I'm not moving on from the Gnex anytime soon. The LGnex is meh imo.

I thought the best feature of iPhone 5 was the capability to set your own mp3's as personal alarms and ringtones. Welcome to 200late apple.

The incredible has this thread.. named different but still the same idea. It let's users know where the devs "if they stop by" are when they decide to move on. Some users get attached to the devs and would like to follow their work.
Other can give good reviews on other phones etc.

Wouldn't users who are attached / fans of a certain dev send them a pm or twitter/Google + or something. Usually a dev also let's people know the deal in their threads from the older device.
I don't see how a person can be attached so to a dev (s) but yet still not have a clue what they are doing.

lol at trolls. I'm not leaving the gnex anytime soon. I love it. I actually scored another gnex on the cheap to keep as a backup.

No, I am not. Thanks for assuming though. Whether you like it or not, Native development is better. Android relying so heavily on any virtualization (Dalvik) makes it a legacy OS. I am not misinformed -_-

There Any Way To Collect Signatures For A Xperia Play 2??

I think we should agree whole community together Xperia Play .. and sign or orders, for Sony to Launch a Xperia Play 2.
And convince them to not be a (PS Vita Killer) and that would be two completely different things,
The excuse for not launching a successor to the Xperia Play now , because if they would not lose sales of the PS Vita (no sense)
Since they are two totally different things A Smartphone with android. And a game console (with games made ​​specifically for her)

Replace the start and select buttons with another analogue nubbings and move start and select in the above middle section and a menu button on the bottom left of the dpad with a screenshot or whatever button on the bottom right on the face buttons.. boom phone lol

I have read that Sony will be releasing a package for $499 where its a vita and a ps4 together. Not as a holiday bundle but as a permanent bundle. So you can buy the ps4 or you can buy the bundle.
Come on Sony the vita is dead. Get over it. I asked a gamestop rep at two locations if/ when the last time someone bought a vita. One store said for him over a month. The other said he had sewn people trading it in. Couple this with the fact radioshack is permanently discontinuing both PSP models for $199.

i'm going to be crazy for xperia play 2 ! i like to play drastic , dolphin ... on a high-end phone with a dedicated gamepad .
