Hello Friends!!
I think we should agree whole community together Xperia Play .. and sign or orders, for Sony to Launch a Xperia Play 2.
And convince them to not be a (PS Vita Killer) and that would be two completely different things,
The excuse for not launching a successor to the Xperia Play now , because if they would not lose sales of the PS Vita (no sense)
Since they are two totally different things A Smartphone with android. And a game console (with games made specifically for her)
there any way to do a page, or is there a page where we can gather signatures for this order??
I for my part, I send an email to Sony From Brazil team, and they said, it is a kind request, and that he would inform the team to take it into account ..
I hope we can do this, because for us (the Xperia Play gamer)
there will be nothing else to replace it (not even Nvidia Shield, or The console JXD) or anything like that .. because what many want is a smartphone-console (not a console android)
And we need a device that meets the future needs:
OpenGL 3.0 support (for future Android games or emulators, example: Dolphin (Gamecube Emulator)
Something With smartphones specifications pointers yet to come would be great:
CPU: 2.3 Ghz Snapdragon 800 (Quad-Core)
GPU: Adreno 330 (which has support for OpenGL 3.0)
Ram: 2 GB
Iintera Memory: 16 GB (or 32 GB)
Display: 5 Inch (Full HD)
Camera: 13 Megapixel
Android 4.3
(And more importantly, Dual Analog Physical., And if possible, the integration of (L2-R2 - L3 - R3)
Something So at a price of 600 or 650 dollars, there would be nothing wrong, you are saying?
I hope I can help, appreciate your answers.
Greetings.
PS Vita is already dead.
Sony officially dropped its price from $250 to $199
It's just a console of porting games.
And 3DS killed it.
I support this 100%! but theres no way Sony will do this.
We have been asking and signing stuff for ages now and no response.. they just dont want to bury the Vita anymore (if thats possible *cough*)
Something Like the PSPGO I would be happy about, similar to the xplay with the analogue nubbings..

Replace the start and select buttons with another analogue nubbings and move start and select in the above middle section and a menu button on the bottom left of the dpad with a screenshot or whatever button on the bottom right on the face buttons.. boom phone lol
I have read that Sony will be releasing a package for $499 where its a vita and a ps4 together. Not as a holiday bundle but as a permanent bundle. So you can buy the ps4 or you can buy the bundle.
Come on Sony the vita is dead. Get over it. I asked a gamestop rep at two locations if/ when the last time someone bought a vita. One store said for him over a month. The other said he had sewn people trading it in. Couple this with the fact radioshack is permanently discontinuing both PSP models for $199.

Comparison to iPhone
Sorry I cannot write any review now since it is my first WinMo phone. Perhaps after weeks I can give some comment.
I wonder how the contrast and resolution of the screen compares to the iPhone. But please let us know your thoughts on the phone once you've broken it in.
Thanks a lot Begovaya!!
I´m sure this are the first exclusive pics of Max on this site!
Thanks a lot and hope you can post your reviews about it once you´ll get more familiar with it.
About comparisions with other devices it has almost the same specs as HTC HD, and there are already thousands of comparisions between them, so let´s no waste time on it (Just a suggestion).
The most important here is the WIMAX service so let us know about it in detail.
About the accesories you are looking for, I´m sure you can use the same as the HD ones, same case for software and apps (Someone correct me if I´m wrong):

I´m sure soon Max will have it´s own dedicated thread

I think the owners of HD can tell about this better than I. The screen is larger than iPhone (it's only noticeable when you place them side by side)
The resolution is fantastic and it is the first phone that makes me feel surfing is alright on a phone.
Some people say 65k colors are enough. THAT AIN'T TRUE. I copy my favorite photos which I took by a Canon EOS 5D (of course the files are shrunk to reasonable size) to the Max4G. The 'discontinuity of color gradient' is very obvious. (I hope you understand my English) That's due to TOO FEW COLORS.
But still, the resolution is great and photos look subtle.
65k is a problem, but phone is not guilty for this. The problem is in Microsoft e.g in Windows mobile. It only supports 65k. Maybe in new versions it will be corrected
WiMax 2.5Ghz Maidstone Kent UK
Hello, Does any one know if this handset will work on my Local Wimax service in Maidstone Kent the trial is being conducted by Mobile Wimax Acceleration Group M-WAG and is running on a 2.5ghz band, i will contact Kerl Haslam at M-WAG today and ask about access to this service, seen sevice in daily use with emergency services and police. Going back to russia in two weeks so tempeted to pick one of these HTC handsets
So my question is, can you tether the WiMax service to a desktop PC?
If so, what is the speed test results?

I'm not sure which bands YOTA uses, but according to HTC "Mobile WiMAX: IEEE 802.16e (2.5 ~ 2.7 GHz)" which means it should operate on any 2.5Ghz network, but I'm speculating on that part as I've not had experience with WiMax
It should work, but maybe phone is locked in some way to Yota

Yes, there is a built-in program "Modem WiMax", according to the manual, you can use HTC Max4G as a modem for PC or notebook.
However, the WiMax coverage in Moscow isn't satisfactory yet. So such test is not possible for me now.
Sorry I'm a WinMo newbie and my knowledge is limited, not able to say anything further.
Clear WiMax was just introduced in Portland Oregon. It would be a kick to setup the phone as unlocked, and then use it as a modem as well. I don't think they would allow that though, access is via a usb dongle for mobile and a paperweight modem for desktop use:
https://www.clear.com/clear_gear.php
$50/month for broadband mobile internet, VOI telephony. It's a total win.
portland wimax
I live in Portland too and am very curious about " Clear WiMax. Has any one who reads here posess the skills to abapt Clear's USB Dongle to mini USB, rewrite the necessary software, and do whatever else is necessary to make wimax work on my HTC Blackstone?
I would gladly pay for any equipment and fees necessary to have this project end with favorable results!
Please contact me at this email with questions and answers.
[email protected]
P.S The rights to any potential commercial product would remail with the fabricator, I just want to be the first one to benifit from it's use.
sincerly,
John Nance
John, I think it would be worth running down to a Clear store with a usb dongle to see if it would somehow work with your phone.
fwiw, Clear has no way to reach tech support, or even leave feedback on getting an HTC or Nokia wimax phone into their lineup.
I was at a BestBuy and Clear was there, but it was the usual idiots who only sell contracts. They are the lowest of the low - I knew the nation was in trouble when I started meeting cell phone salesman-like idiots telling me they were 'mortgage brokers'....but that's another story.
Has anyone confirmed that mods and software for Blackstone are compatible with the Max?
Seriously considering picking up an unlocked one once the price comes down a little bit. It is supposedly a long way out before where I live in China will see 3G coverage, so I will have to live with EDGE no matter what handset I buy. The design of the Max is spot on, and it would suit my needs well enough.
I am getting sick of all this complaining. This is a vital time when MS needs support. We need to be more like Apple users in supporting our company. The apathetic nature of MS users makes me sick. Sometimes I feel like I am the only MS user who actively goes out and spreads good word about MS. User of MS products just go along happily using it but never actually spread the word like Apple fans do. That's why Apple is so succesful and MS is not in the mobile sector. The only time they come out of the woodwork is to complain.
See the whole windows home server and drive extender saga. Where were these people when Apple was bashing MS left and right? Nowhere. Now that they remove DE, they are screaming murder saying MS had the best product they've ever owned. Well perhaps you should have spread the word then.
So this thread is so say WE SUPPORT YOU, MS! You have a done a great job. Who else is with me?
Gas up the bus and round up the cheerleaders. We are going cross country!
I love WP7 but I am yet to support them by buying a handset. I suspect that will change soon.
I love my WP7! Especially after using that I one and the A one I can't wait to see what they do with it in the future

If product good, support good, sales after services good.
The customer's will come, because the they are not stupid.
I own HD7 and I see it doesn't have many thing that made it to be a good phone (just "phone") right now.
MS need to be pull many feature quickly but as we see.. 5 month ago we have nothing, but bugs are still with us.
(ex. I can't use mic when I use headphone, so every time somebody call me in, I must to be pull out the headphones jack before received the call, It's not funny.)
Customer will choose the best thing for them so, M$ must to be more a good boy.
I like M$ but I not sure to support them in the feature again,
because I didn't got the money for free.

Haha, I couldn't help but notice you posted this from a Captivate. I own one as well and I had bought a WP7 device last week to switch back and forth as I please because I want to support MS in the mobile community, but WP7 does nothing for me. The Netflix streaming was about it, but once that hits android then it wont matter. WP7 is smooth and rarely lags, but I feel so restricted when I use it and I have my Captivate sitting next to me. I don't know if you have got into flashing custom roms for the Captivate, but if you haven't flash Andromeda 1.2. Easily competes with the fastest of phones on the market today and everything works perfectly. But now that I'm done with my sales pitch, if MS brings an improvement to WP7 then I will be trying it out as soon as I can, but what me and my brother liked about Windows phones in the past is that they were virtually limitless to the tweaks you could make. Granted not as fast or smooth, no matter what facade is on top, but if you wanted to do something then most likely you could. WP7 just feels crippled, that's just my opinion though.
Sent from my Andromeda Captivate
though WP7 currently lack some features that we are used to using (copy/paste, multi-tasking etc.)im loving my WP7 powered HD7.
another thing that i love (and it makes me excited too) are the upcoming updates. come to think of it, MS will be bringing us C&P in a few weeks. and after a few months itll bring us Multi tasking in which the other platforms took a long time for them to deliver. its just that, MS should pull something extra ordinary that will differentiate their platform against the others. im sure ms is already conceptualizing things that will separate wp7 amongs the rest.
Good work with the camera feature, the Metro UI, social network integration and HUBS!
i love WP7
loving chix & vixens as well...
What about the landscape keyboard? Is there ever going to be a fix to take up the whole screen width? I'm sure going from an iPhone or something with a smaller screen its fine, but I'm use to the beautiful SAMOLED screen on the Captivate having a full width keyboard. In portrait mode its on par with the Captivates portrait keyboard, but I simply can't type on the landscape one. Maybe I should have got the Quantum...

I'd be more inclined to be supportive of Microsoft if they made it clear that they actually were trying hard to support their users, not their carrier-partners.

Allowing us to uninstall the bloatware crap without Modding the phone all to pieces is a pretty big sign that they support the users and not the carrier. Its the first phone I've seen it allow such a thing.

I love WP7 too........
Mod Edit; It is against the rules to try and direct users to another (competitive) site.
I appreciate that your intentions were good though
I've always been the first to support Microsoft but they really do need to start showing their consumers some love.
i have been MS supporter for a long time and with WP7 microsoft has done it, this OS works without softreset, do not have few things right now but i know it will be having all those options soon...
i got my HD7 end oct and i am glad i got it.... i love the cloud, love the UI, love the speed, smoothness, simplcity, integration with facebook.....
i was wondering how it will be like when i lose sync with outlook, but it did not come up after i moved my contacts to my windows live account.
guys, WP7 is a good OS and if you dont like it there are other options, the only thing i dont get it is ppl *****ing about WP7 when they knew what they will be getting and they bought it and now all the *****ing..

But there are a lot of Microsoft haters out there.
another reason i love ms and wp7 (this is too much exciting)
IE9 coming to WP7 (later this year )
To the OP, just want to let you know something.Firstly, you say we have to be like Apple supporter and support M$.I can tell you that most Iphone users are not Apple fanboy.this is due to the product problem.
we are complaining is because the product is not good.IMO, M$ is on the wrong direction now, they have to plan and develop WP7 better,better....still a long way to go.what I see now is WP7 is just like SYMBIAN,full of bugs, but it just equipped with a better presentation.
I'm feeling pretty pity now, let's think about the updates and what we are waiting??mango and NO-DO,the feature these updates bring to us,is just some necessary and basic function and not mind-blowing.
I'm kind of tired of frequent lag and crash on marketplace, excessive noise in picture, slow app loading on my mozart.
what I said here is on a non-M$ fanboy stand point.
I will support MS back, but only when:
- They will deliver their updates,
- They will stop their unacceptable US-centric services, and provide decent services also to European customers. Which means they fix Bing Maps which is a shame,
- They will remove most of their silly WP7 restrictions and limitations,
- They will give all the APIs to the third party developers (GPS, compass, camera, etc.),
- They finally listen to their customers.
At the moment they are not fully commited to the satisfaction of their clients... Sorry.
And God knows how loyal we are....
if you have to ask...
people to support a multi billion dollar company, the company is doing something wrong.
don't blame apple or google or rim for this one. nothing to do with them at all.
I would imagine if ms actually released a full fledged update that brought it up to featureset, this thread wouldn't be needed. also, naming your first update after your competitions is just lame. nodo ? really, that's just sad.

Erm remember when iPhone first came out without MMS, multitasking, copypaste, etc. The Apple supporters were backing Apple by saying that they didn't need multitasking, that copy paste on mobile devices was useless and why use MMS when we have emails.
That's the kind of support I am talking about. MS users on the other hand just complain and complain.
Hello friends, this is my first post, just thought I'd share a few thoughts about my HTC titan. Coming from an android device (HTC desire running 2.2 froyo) , was immediately impressed by the smoothness and ease of use, and the huge screen is a revelation! I used to have an xda Orbit 2 (running windows mobile 6.1) and there is no comparison, so much better in every way. The android phone scores better than windows phones in that it is so customizable, but I found myself playing with the settings for hours on end without actually using it! A few times I have swapped back to my Desire, but never for long- what I thought was a smooth browsing experience was very jerky, and the flash player didn't help, slowing the phone down whilst loading numerous adverts on each webpage. After a while I found myself getting bored with the metro start screen, and can't wait for the 7.8 update with a busier screen. Android has thousands of apps, 95% of which are garbage. I find I only need a few good apps on my titan- a good you tube app, picasa app being the most important ( I like to upload my pictures an videos to the cloud where they are safe) . I had an issue with outgoing call quality on my titan- my voice was muffled, the answer was to tape over the noise cancelling mike on top of the phone. Also be careful with the case you use- any with metal in them seem to kill the reception. Now I use a rubberized case, my previous leather one (with aluminium stiffening) and my plastic case (with aluminium stuck on the back) are now gathering dust upstairs! Overall, I love this o.s., it may not be as flashy as some, but works. As an aside, I bought the Mugen 1950 ma battery, and the phone lasts two and a half days easily with moderate use- I bought a Mugen 3200 ma battery for my desire, and it only lasts two days!

Hey, thanks for welcoming me Spider-7. And thanks for link to all those roms. I should say tho that I've never flashed a rom to any of my phones, they are all totally stock. I do enjoy the xda site for all its useful info, like tips and tricks, accessories etc. Yes, went from windows mobile to android and back to windows again, windows seems like a professional platform to me. I'll wait for the official update for 7.8 to come, whenever that may be!

I would recomend checking out the Skydrive App if you are into Cloud backup, It can be used for totaly automatic backup of photos

Thanks for the tip, but I read somewhere that the photos are uploaded in a lower resolution, don't know if this is right.
Welcome! The Titan is a nice device. I rock a Focus S but I have a Titan too I got repaired for a friend. Both solid units. Some apps to get: Board Express Pro (it runs a bit better on WP than the WP version of the XDA app), Amazing Weather/Weatherflow, Ask Ziggy, Amazon, Gleek! (if you're into Twitter), LinkedIn, Metrotibe, Daily Wallpaper, TurboCam, Photosynth and WPCentral.

Hello! Yes, I like the titan very much, just the call quality issues that spoilt it at first. I have the super tube app for watching you tube videos, and is pretty good. Who needs flash!
Just last night I purchased the surf cube browser after using the trial first, and it seems good. More features on the u.i. than internet explorer, you can swipe for favourites or use an onscreen joystick. Tried uc browser too, but was disappointed. Uc was available on android, and was pretty quick. Earlier on I was reading a review of the new Nokia lumia 920. I'm not sure that windows 8 is much of an improvement over 7.5/7.8. Seems more of a refinement than a major step forward. I can't upgrade for 6 months, and I'm not sure that I would. I'm sure everything will run a little quicker with the dual core CPU, and you need that to shoot 1080p videos, but I may wait till windows 9 is out, till the difference in performance is really noticable. Just my thoughts.
For you since you are new to the platform, 7.5 to 7.8 will do just fine. I'd either wait to see what gets put out in the spring before you upgrade, of if you get a lumia 920 on the cheap, then take it. Supertube is a fine app too

Oh yes, I'd say the 920 is a superb phone for sure. And as time goes on I suppose windows 8 will improve on windows 7 series in one big way- the apps. I just hope that the developers who design apps for 8 will also do the same apps for 7. Though will that be more difficult than it sounds since the o.s. Kernels are different? Forgive me if I'm wrong, these are things I've picked up looking thru xda and WP central forums- and I'm no developer!

it wouldn't be so hard if they developed For the 7.x platform as 8.x supports both, but it would mean some features would not be available. If they develops for 8 first and use 8 only functions then they will have to re do it for it to work on 7 costing more time and money. Logically any developer should aim to target 7.x to gain the widest possible user base. Games maybe the exception here but in an ideal world, shouldn't be, it would mean not having cutting edge wp8 game tho which isn't ideal from a selling point of view

That's the thing. Ideally as a dev you code for both, and that's what I've been telling a close friend who wants to get in on WP. But because the market for WP7 was relatively small, if the first wave for WP8 are a smash hit then most will not code for WP7. Devs are in a tricky spot in that if Gen 1 WP 8 doesn't sell, they may be forced to code for Windows 8 only before they come back fully to the WP platform.

Is it correct that 7.8 devices will still be made and sold alongside wp8 devices? If so, app developers would be encouraged to develop for both platforms.

That's exactly what will happen. Nokia's 510 that was recently announced is now the poster child of that. It still is a good idea for devs to code for both, but we will see it they will...

I'm glad you dig the Titan. I've always loved some of the HTC unibody designs, so it is cool for me own one, even though I plan to use it as a backup phone. . Support really depends on how much stuff from WP8 gets ported into 7.8. If there are enough new features, it will hold some over until Gen2 WP8, or WP9.
My issue with HTC over the last few years is that they're releasing too many devices with that "one thing missing" to not make them popular, or releasing the right device a few months later , when the market's moved on. Adding the ****ty aftermarket (comparative to Nokia) and non hacker friendly (comparative to Samsung) support, they cannot help but bleed money...
Sorry for the rant.... The Titan is an excellent Gen 2 WP 7 phone. Let's see what HTC does with its successor...
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Oh yes, onwards and upwards! I'm glad that WP hasn't gone the way of android with a new o.s. Upgrade every 6 months- you no sooner get your jellybean powered phone than the rumours start of the new upgraded system with amazing multitasking features , which render your phone obsolete (a friend at work has a Samsung s3 with picture in picture capability, so he can continue watching whatever while he plays with his start screen- wtf! ) no wonder quad core cpu's are so necessary! An excellent improvement for the next upgrade would be an external battery so you don't need to take the back off the phone when the damn thing freezes up! I would call this the Cadbury's chocolate bar upgrade! I don't mean to knock android, but my stock 2.2 desire used to freeze up regularly for no reason at all, and my Titan hasn't frozen once in 6 months. It all comes down to what you like, an if you are happy with whatever phone you have, then I am very happy for you! I can't comment on Apple products, I've never tried one, they really don't interest me. So in short, lets just have upgrades to the o.s. when there is something usefully added, or leave them as they are. P.s. Thanks for the thanks Trappxl!

Hello guyz,
I was reading the datasheets of various Chips used in our phone.. While studying the datasheet of our Bluetooth chip I found some really interesting things.. The BCM4330 Bluetooth/WiFi chip used in our phone supports Bluetooth 4.0 and FM transmitter out of the box.
See the following block diagram of BCM4330 chip.. Its from Broadcom

}
Also see the rectangle marked portion:
You can see FM Transmitter is using the same antenna as used by FM Receiver .. The only thing missing is the software
Getting FM Transmitter to work is trivial.. First we have to find an Android ROM with native FM transmitter support..If it is implemented as a seperate App, then decompile and study how it actually interacts with the underlying hardware..
For Bluetooth 4.0 , HTC already have plenty of phones supporting Bluetooth 4.0 now ... We have to backport services and framework files from a Bluetooth 4.0 supported ROM with BCM4330 chip!
Probably, we have to make many changes in kernel too..
This sounds like very challenging and interesting project to me So, who is with me

as far as i remember our chip is bcm21553 so wont it be different from the one you are talking about???anyways getting fm transmitter to work on our device will itself be really cool.....
You must know, our low-end galaxy y is in the core a hi end smartphone, but the low RAM, and the low display resolution does not improve the bcm feature

Man read your post over and be absolutely sure that's what u wanna say this phone was good when it was released in its price range
IN ITS PRICE RANGE
that's a nice way of saying it sucked but it didn't hurt your wallet so even by 2011s low standards the galaxy y was low end so by today's standards high end yeah right that was what I responded to originally saying that our phones high end at the core lol our phone wasn't high end when it launched so it's definitely not high end now hell at this point low end would be an upgrade and then my second comment was to the guy who said somehow this phone has good gpu it's just not handled properly so I was like good how bad is this software handling the gpu I mean I suppose it could be good of your just got done playing an Atari 2600 lol and with regards to your comment it only serves to bolster my argument that our phone sucks
Is it good hell no!
It's it good for its price maybe depends did u get it for free if so u were robbed that guy owes u ten bucks lol
K that might have sounded abrasive but I didn't mean it that way it's just the guys I responded to were acting like if the SGY is some super phone SGY superphone smh

nobody in this post say sgy is high end except you. ZakooZ say "good". "good" can be means in feature-per-price or performance-per-price. if you try to compare sgy with sgs-2 (galaxy flagship in 2011) then something wrong with your logic.

For the second part did u did u miss the part where I said sgy was good for its price in 2011
Also where is your argument do u even have 1 or are u shouting random comments I never once compared the SGY to the s2 I simply stated that it isn't high-end and never was unless u disagree and I would love to hear your explanation on how the SGY is a high-end phone also z guys comment was in response to me saying the SGY had horrible gpu which it does

how could I not have responded

Me being amazed responded to those claims hoping to start a legitimate discussion

about fm transmitter, someone in this forum already say about that long time ago.
not investigating yet, but considering how most 'modern chip' is working, it's only possible if you can find other phone with the same chip (same series not only same type) with all features you need with available linux kernel source and (usually) binary firmware. may be you also need to do reverse engineering.
not something impossible, but also not easy. definitely beyond my capability.
Well, I don't see the advantage in having FM transmitter.... I mean the amount of work required should be significant to purpose.. we don't gain much from getting FM transmitter.. am I wrong? Bluetooth 4.0 on other hand might come handy.. not sure gb has compatibility with it or not though..

Love the idea of this thread, especially with the video and I hope others take part in it
Anyways, my oldest *working* device is the EVO 3D.
The device came out in early 2011 so is about 4 years exactly and to me is a special device. Is the device that I started compiling Android from source and is what started #DirtyUnicorns for me.
At the time I was winzipping/porting ROMs on the EVO 4G and had felt that I've done everything I could possibly do on it and was looking for a newer device. A friend and now fellow dev @NYCHitman1 offered to donate his EVO 3D since he was moving on to the GNEX (I think) and I took him on that and loved it!
Started compiling unofficial AOKP builds and digging into source to see how things actually work. Started cherry picking features as users requested on my thread and sooner or later, it got to the point that it was no longer AOKP. Well, at least the AOKP that you compiled from stock. It had a ton of features on top of what AOKP offered and so I renamed it and it took off after that.
People started contributing to my little project and compiling for their devices and fast forward to today and is grown to it's own thing! I love it and is all because of this little device, the EVO 3D
Currently it has KitKat 4.4.4 and it runs fairly well. Only thing that's broke is the 3D camera but that's every AOSP rom for the EVO 3D since lack of source and blobs.
@Mazda
Thanks Alex, that's the ticket:good:
Awesome thread and very unique unfortunately I don't have any old devices anymore. But my oldest and first android was of course G1 from Tmo but the oldest of all was a palm pda. And of course an old...... Motorola with a laptop near it to get activated at the scene. Lol

/me cracks knuckles....
I give you the device that gave birth to this here site.... HTC Wallaby aka O2 XDA
* I purchased my HTC Wallaby in 2003, which makes it 12 years old (I guess it qualifies );
* While I forgot to shoot the build version of the ROM, it is on PocketPC 2002 (can be seen at the beginning of the video);
This phone is a marvel of the golden age of mobility, well before Apple was what we know today as crApple. I bought it while I was studying Engineering. I had owned a few other WinCE mobile devices before that (my first being a HP Jornada 520), but I wanted to have phone and PDA all in one (I had a Toshiba e740 at the time I bought this). Found a good deal on eBay and have had it ever since. That thing has been through thick and thin yet still has a battery that can hold a charge, even if only for a short while and it works flawlessly. Equipped with 32 MB of shared RAM and ROM, an Intel Xscale processor clocked at 200 MHz, BT and a SD card, this was ahead of its time in every sense of the word. It has a lot of our modern, Samsung "innovations" like the stylus and the new clip-on keyboard. It had no on board Wifi and was only GPRS capable, but to this day, it has lasted longer than any phone I have ever had. The device has seen loads of development in here and is the true bed of Linux on a mobile device (look for XANADUX)... A bad OEM update to PPC2003 was what brought me to this site back in '05... 10 years later, and I am still around (have gone up slightly in the hierarchy ever since )
Suddenly, I have the urge of trying to find the cab for Age of Empires 2 for PPC... This thing ran it flawlessly....
Good enough @TonyStark?
I could do another one with my Blue Angel but I guess you cannot really go too further back than this.
@egzthunder1
Excellent and thank you. It will take a major undertaking to find something much older If you do not see any other user post the Blue Angel, please do not hesitate.
Hmmm.... Droid 2...
I still have my original droid 2 and its honestly the worst system I have ever owned and know 7 other people who equally shared the same hate .... You would seriously die before making a call for help...

I have several "smart" devices from my first Palm TX, all the way up to several newer Samsung devices and everything in between. Took me some time to get to the bottom of my electronics bin but I eventually found a good smart phone.
My first "smart" phone was the Blackberry Pearl 8100. It lasted me for about a year when I upgraded to my Palm Pixi and I went crazy from there. The Pearl was the device that first taught me the joys of customizing a device and in a round about way got me into rooting and ROMing. The first thing I did to it was to find a way to get third party apps on it without the presence of an app store. Once I figured that out I then figured out how to customize the color of the Pearl and my love for playing with mobile devices was born.
Even though I retired it from my personal use almost eight years it has been in use almost constantly until a year ago when I got my sister in law to give it back and got her upgraded to a Moto X. I pulled it out today and plugged it in and after about thirty minutes of charging I was able to play Brick Breaker on it for a whole two minutes before the battery died (thank you battery bulge!).

HTC desire wildfire s used for around 5years now also its working properly without any issue using cm10 in it.Runs smooth,5mp camera without any crack.Almost fallen down 100 times from hand. Also works as a backup phone for me.
I have owned 2 old devices, Galaxy S1 just keeping in box as souvenir
Another still using, galaxy tab 7.7 legend, this device beloved by a lot of people so that still have XDA developers update new rom, special is Daniel_hk developer, he did a lot of rom for this device, his Omni rom 5.1.1 on my device now and continue to follow him for Mashmallow 6.0 which just on the way, I lost my account on forum so have registered this new and try to get ten posts soon to meet him at 6M thread
To @daniel_hk :
I have up your mm rom with TWRP 2.8.7.1, it have a problem till step I sign in Google account then it pop-up a lot warning that Google Apps stopped working then restart, this action work in cycle so setting cannot be finished if during settings skip sign in Google account then can finish settings but while get in play store with account then problem happen same, hope you recheck it tks!

Wow... looks how far we have gone. New phone now is as powerful as a full feature computers - looking back 10 years ago.
Working? None, lol
But I remember the myth:
HTC Hero running CM 7 nightly.
Its right now in the bin of used phones. I don't really remember using it though it was my daily driver at the time.
I still have a droid 2. It became a much better phone after rooted and bloatware removed.
