Hi
Im running oxygen with oxygen r2 hboot without any EXT partitions on PVT-4 S-FF Desire GSM. I've got problems with apps on it. Everything works fine and after some time I can't unlock my phone. I'm pressing the power button and screen is black, only hardware buttons are highlihting. So I'm removing battery and restarting it. After that it starts to behave strange. When I try to launch any app only screen goes black and nothing happen. Also widgets are gone. It touches all apps i have installed on my phone. I even fully wiped my phone an the problem starts after BSOD when trying to unlock it. Did anyone ever faced this prob? Please, answer.

Does anyone else have a problem whereby on their Desire's screen will appear lines and the pixels will all turn multicoloured somehow, and then it will come back? I'm having this with a MIUI ROM right now, and after it goes away, I have to wait for ages and then it gets to some sort of loading screen before rebooting. This repeats, even though I've tried everything like clearing user settings etc. My phone is rooted and S-OFF, and I'm using Clockwork 2.5.0.7. It's AMOLED (I never had this problem on my SLCD before Three replaced it with an AMOLED just to piss me off...)
Edit: This has also happened on other ROMS including but not limited to Cyanogen. As long as my phone boots, there is nothing wrong with it...
I have no idea if i have the same problem as you but when i install cyanogen 6.2 RC1 and bootup the phone, i get the htc logo and it fades away in a weird way. Then after that a few dozen colored vertical stripes appear .... its like the screen is broken. Then the phone reboots and is stuck at the htc logo.
I have no problems with cyanogenmod 6.02 (stable)
Any ideas. Its a desire slcd rooted with unrevoked and clockwork. Could it have to do with the radiorom? According to the cyanogen wiki my rom version is the most recent but i doubt that. Its still the stock radiorom but a recent one.

Yes, I got exactly the same thing with Cyanogen. I'll try installing a different radio version when I get home and report back.

Well I've now tried a number of radios but none of them have helped... Is your phone S-OFF? Is it from Three UK? Also interesting is the fact that it eventually boots but comes up with 'process system is not responding', and after waiting a bit it just reboots itself, and repeats the whole process...
Hey people
Using Oxygen 2.0 RC7
Recovery Amon Ra
Phone HTC Desire PVT4 S-ON
I've had some trouble with my SD card I think.
I always sync my songs from spotify for the offline mode. And after a couple of hours i try to enter gallery but my phone freezes, when I press the ON button I see my buttons interact, but the screen is black? It's laggy as hell, ive tried everything. I wiped everything, reflashed and then it worked. But after 2 hours of using the phone it started to hang again..
Sooo i downloaded Rom manager and tried the filepermission thing, that runs a test. And now I'm running the phone without any problems. But I think that I will have a problem by tonight..
Do you guys know the problem?
Unrooted the phone... everything was normal, but when I started using things that are on the SD card it goes black. And I have to pull the battery... this never happened before rooting...
Tried another sd card now, hope it doesnt happen. The other I used maybe was broken or something? Only had it for 2-3 months.. my phone
Edit: After 5 month passes I have hope that somebody came across this
problem as well in the meantime. It's quite annyoing not to see the screen
during boot and recovery since I'm flashing roms quite often.
Thank you in advance for any feedback.
Cheers

Edit:
It seems I'm the only one having that kind of problem. :-(
Hi Everybody,
somthing very strange happend to me. I hope you can help me. After I broke
my AMOLED Screen, I replaced it with a new one. (Yes I ensured, that it is
an AMOLED and NOT a SLCD). After reassembling, everything seemed to work
fine. The Desire boots first with green HTC splash screen and then with my
monster boot animation from InsertCOIN. But then, after second reboot the screen remains black.
I could feel the vibration, so the phone seemed to start but no splash screen and no boot animation.
When the boot is finished, I can activate the screen by double pressing the power button.
After that, phone works ok without any flaws. However, when I reboot, same procedure again.
The screen remains black until the boot is finished. OK, phone is working but it is annoying that I can't
go into HBOOT or Recovery mode. Actually I found a work around by using Androidscreencast to go into
recovery and flash roms, but I'd like to do it from the phone direct without casting the screen to my PC.
After some investigation I found an issue with probably wrong display driver, but that's purely related to SLCD Desire.
Anyway I tried to flash the latest RUU and rerooted in order to see if it makes any difference. But no change.
I even tried to replug the display connector to the main PCB in the phone. Nothing helps.
Now I hope the community has an idea.
By the way I had Bootloader 0.75 before reflashing RUU. Now it is 0.93. I'm currently running InsertCOIN 2.0 with A2SD.
Thank you in advance for any useful hint beyond what I tried so far.
Cheers

Dear forum, I've always found help searching these forums, but this time I have to ask something myself:
I use a MIUIes ROM for my HTC Desire, with a 1024MB ext partition, the ROM works fine, I can power it off, power it on, reboot... everything without problems,
BUT, sometimes, without having made any single change on the phone, not installed anything, nor changed anything on the setup, when I turn off and on, it stays on the white screen with green htc text...
Sometimes I can solve this by simply taking the battery out, and powering on again; but other times I have to reflash the whole rom back again (and install every single program back from scratch), since I tried to use nandroid backups and that doesn't help.
Any ideas why this might happen? any solutions?
Thanks in advance
I've recently sold my rooted HTC Desire with MIUI installed.
However the buyer contacted me today saying the phone is not working.
It was working fine when I sold it to him, but now has the following problems:
- It normally loads the boot screen instead of the ROM.
- In the boot screen everything is frozen ( I know you need to wait 10 sec). It takes a few minutes until it actually registers that you pressed something.
- If you actually do get to go to the recovery screen, it is very buggy - it mostly doesn't respond to pressing the optical button, and sometimes it selects something without you pressing anything.
- If you do get to load the ROM (I've managed to install GingerBurst Sense 2.1 ROM. So I've tried this with this and MIUI), it loads in safe mode, and whenever you lock the screen and try to open it again, the phone resets to the boot screen, which again is frozen...
I've managed to wipe the phone and install the gingerbread rom mentioned above, but the problems still persist.
Does anyone have any idea what's wrong with my phone all of the sudden, and how it can be fixed?
Could it finally have died and there's nothing else I can do?
If it helps, the phone is a HTC Desire Bravo S-ON with ClockWorkMod Recovery v2.5.0.7

It all looks like it was dropped or moisture got inside of it. I would try with 2.3 ruu, to get it back to fully stock on all partitions and try it there. If problem continues it's a hardware failure, and if everything works great, then Revolutionary (s-off and root) and a choice of custom rom. However I would stick to stock for selling, unless the buyer requests different.

You are quite right, I have dropped it hard and got it wet several times, so it probably is indeed a hardware fault.
I'll try your suggestions, but it seems to me like I will probably have to refund the buyer.
Thanks for your help.
Liran
Try with disassembling and cleaning of all connectors.
I've just refunded the buyer.
Thank you both for your help
