Sprint activatoinFailed, help please! - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

So I was activating over chat, and the guy was lost and could not do it.
Online shows the phone under my number, but the phone keeps showing hands free activation and I can't activate it on the phone.
##72786# brings up hand free activation back but when I put my info on the S3 it says that its already activated on my account, which is true but its not working (so dumb). Updating PRL or anything else has also not worked.
I would call Sprint but they are now closed and my line does not work, so any help would be much appreciated.
(sorry about the title being messed up)

Do you own an airwave? If so try unpluging that and retry the handsfree activation. Also update prl and profile

Factory reset your phone and it will auto activate

Well, thank you guys for all of the replies, but the person I chatted with entered the wrong DEC number. He had to do ONE thing lol. Thanks CHAD. Wasted so much time and didn't have service this morning because of one stupid mistake. And it was over chat, couldn't even copy and paste.

yea keep calling sprint tell them your phone is acting up and you want to hard reset it to see if that helps. Honestly each rep will tell you something different just keep calling and be stern and nice about it...
First rep I spoke with gave me my MSL. Keep trying.
Should I just say,"msl code" or say I did a reset and need to reprogram etc
Sent from my HTC EVO 4G
I told them that I wanted to reset my phone to factory defaults and that I read on the internet that you could do that with ##786#, but that it was asking me for a password. The rep put me on hold for about 20 seconds then gave me my MSL.

For anyone intersted there is an MSL app in the market for Appbrain
I read somewhere that the MSL codes are printed on your receipt of purchase. You may want to check there before you go through the hassle of calling again.
call sprint and just be honest with them. it takes 5 minutes.
Yea, call Sprint, just say you want to do a master reset and need the MSL.
Install MSL Reader from the market.

I can't post the link since I'm new, but check in themes & apps. There is an app called msl reader. Everyone says it works. Spits your msl right out for you.

This happened to me recently and after much trouble shooting, un-rooting and letting Sprint trouble shoot it for hours, and finally a phone replacement that didn't fix the problem, it turned out to be "9016" texts were blocked. When it was suggested I check this I laughed cause there was NO WAY that was the problem... it was blocked when I checked. Unblocked, activation message went through, works great ever sense. I had blocked this in August and unblocked an hour later, didn't even have an Evo then.
Anyway, go to sprint.com, log in, my spint > device and media > block text. Go to blocked list and look for "9016". Hope that does it for ya!
Wow. I bet it will work. I forgot I blocked those while using cm6 a long long time ago. Thanks a huge mega ton man !!!!!!!

[Q] Weird problem Evo on Boost Mobile

Hello everyone, I did a little searching and yet to find a problem or resolution similar to mines. I am not new to flashing. Everything normally ran smooth on previous phones that I did. My final product after the flash is the issue.
Flashed phone is an Evo 4g. One prior owner, a close friend who bought it new from the Sprint store. Not going into the technical details( assuming everyone knows the process). But my donor phone this time was the incognito.
Problems: I have no idea what could of happened. When I call out the number shows as private on any phone that I call. I try calling the phone, it goes to voice mail. I call out pressing *82 to see if my number appears but I always get a "Welcome to Verizon wireless, your mobile number is not active or invalid" . When I press 611 it goes to the Sprint Carrier. Sms don't work but internet does. Any guidance would be appreciated. Anyway in which I can restart from the beginning without rerooting? Or a way to bring the original esn back, I could take it from there also.
-Thanks

What rom are you using? Have you tried to update your profile and prl?
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
Yeah, sounds like you have a Verizon prl or you are roaming, try updating it.
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
Or, a Sprint PRL with enabled roaming.
Don't have the phone with me but a basic recovery rom (forgot the name) while rooting, updated to mikg sense rom, downgraded radios, flashed then received those issues, did a recovery from nand back up, issues still there. I'm not home yet, but i'll try to update the prl. I also thought it was one if those you guys stated. The other forum thinks that I screwed a middle step up and gave me some software( haven't tried it yet). But i'll update later.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I believe that you are correct it's running off of roaming. Don't know why I get verizon error though.. But sadly I found where I went wrong. I fcked a middle step up. Only 9/10 of the data successfully transfered to the device for some reason. My rls log shows that my esn(hex) is zero'd out. That means that the other ways involving esn to restore are now deemed useless, unless there is a way involving org. Hex or dex. I would try rewriting locations using old esn &meid locations but didn't write the esn down . Any guidance from here?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
once you write the MEID, I have always had it write the ESN for me, I have never had to restore the ESN personally. But there is a website out there that will figure out your ESN based off of your MEID. google it cause I do not remember the name of it off of the top of my head.
Yes, I was working with different software than I usually use. But yes I found a meid converter early. I now know my esn and will try to do it manually the way I stated above.

Problem resolved, everything is now running smooth, thanks again to the few who actually responded to my post.

No connection

Okay as the title states I have no connection, voice, data etc its completely stock, brand new out of the box. The weird thing about it was it showed a 3g connection before I tried to activate it via calling sprint giving them the meid. Now it states it has no service by displaying the little red x and ive talked to tech support and they did not help. Preformed soft and hard resets and still nothing.

Try going in settings and hitting activate this device. Then settings > system upgrades. And update your prl and profile.
try ##72786#

It wont allow profile or prl update without it having any bars of service

I had the same problem when I first got it. Try getting online with sprint service, they fixed me up.

Sprint will need to remotely refresh the device so that the correct account information is passed on to the device.
Send them a message via Sprint Chat. It happens sometimes when I do a hard reset.
Good luck!

[Q] Hands free activation failure

Greetings!
I recently rooted my Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II with a toolkit, and it seemingly deactivated my phone, so I couldn't make calls, send text messages or use 3G at all. Every time I would reboot my phone, It would try to do a "Hands Free Activation" and fail.
Since then I have unrooted my phone and restored it to stock, but it still seems deactivated. I can't make calls, send texts or use 3G, and I also still get the "Hands Free Activation" and it still fails every time.
Thanks in advance for the advice.
Call sprint or take it to a sprint store.

I called Sprint and they walked me through a ##72786#. I did not help, I am having the exact same problems.
I had the same issue, even was on the sprint for 45 minutes to no avail. Used Odin to flash back to stock/rooted and was good.

Which .tar file did you use? I tried several until this one worked for me. SPH-L900_MA5_853599_Rooted_Restore.tar.md5. Erased everything and Then was able to flash an updated version and keep data.

Ok, so I used the tar file you used, and it no longer attempts to do the hands free activation.
I seem to be recieving a few text messages, but it seems delayed and sparatic. Phone calls made to me go straight to voicemail. Phone calls I make go through occasionally. I can use 3G for internet access.
In my notification panel, my service bars jump from zero to full quickly, and frequently. It usually sits on zero bars.

Have them try manually programming your phone. They will need you to dial ##MSL#, then tap EDIT, input your MDN (Phone number), MSID (Network routing number) and then select DONE. The phone will reboot, but all of the correct info will be stored in the phone and it shouldn't have an issue with hands free.

With HFA you shouldn't need manual programming as long as the MEID is still set.
Try ##72786# (##SCRTN#) to force HFA and allow the profile/PRL to update.
Also run the MC2 One Click with the change ID in the name (number) to update everything if not already on MC2.
That should get you going again.
If you see HFA pop back up let me know.

That was the issue he was having is that HFA wouldn't complete, and so his phone wouldn't fully provision. If he manually programs then it can skip HFA and should work without it.

In my experience it's not that easy anymore. Manual provision may not allow a profile update, at which point you now have to manually key in AA/HAA keys. And that's not even addressing the LTE SIM.
In this person's case a MC2 one click and the carrier partition fix ought to have done it either way. Feel free to research what we've done so far on related issues if you question why I gave this answer. I have older threads explaining the problem.

First I'll preface this with the fact that I'm not doubting you in the least, you may be correct, and since OP hasn't responded I don't know. Your thanks meter is through the roof, which tells me that you know your ****, so I'm not questioning you. What I'm trying to do is explain it from the way I see it. I have to deal with issues like this at last 50 times a day. People call in because they can't get their phone to provision over the network and I have to troubleshoot and get it working. 999/1000 times it comes down to a provisioning delay or an issue with service. Without knowing the specifics I can't say if that's the cause of his issue or not. What I can say is that I can count on one hand the amount of times I have had to open a CTMS ticket for provisioning. If I can't get SCRTN to work, then I refresh OMA and power cycle, then try again. If that doesn't do the trick then I manually program. When the phone comes back on I have them wait at least a minute, ensure that there is signal and a 3G/4G logo, and have them test. 99.9% of the times the phone works. That's why I suggested manual programming, And then if there is an issue with PRL I'll have them connect to wifi and update again, but rarely have I had an call where not having a current PRL meant that the phone wouldn't provision. Unless he went and manually wrote an archaic PRL in himself then anyone that is already loaded in should work just fine.
TL;DR: Basically, what I'm conveying in this wall of text is that manual programming negates the need for HFA. They both do the same thing, but SCRTN trusts that the network is working, and then automatically updates the PRL, Profile, and Firmware, all of which you can do manually once the correct MDN and MSID are in place.
Can anyone tell me how to update manually update prl on sprint note 2?
