First of all, I'm not a DEV so....... DON'T expect too much... lol
To get your OG's SPC / LOCK code (EASY AS 1-2-3!!)
1. You need cdmaworkshoptool from here (http://www.chromableedstudios.com/). Download it to your PC.
I tried both beta v2 and alpha v2.7 but I could get it worked with beta v2.This is a FREE tool!!! Thank you so much chromableedstudios!!!
2. From your OG.
- Open dial pad and dial ##DIAG# (##3424#)If you CANNOT enable diag mode without Service Code (which is same as SPC), Follow this "[How-To] Enable DIAG mode without Service Code(MSL)" thread.
Thank you autoprime! :good:

- Enable Diag mode.
3. Connect your phone as Charge only mode.
You will be able to see new COM ports from Windows Device Manager
4. Extract downloaded file from 1 and run cdmaTerm.exe.
5. Follow 1 to 6 of the pictuer below. (Tried both COM3, COM5 and got the same result)
6. Finished! Now you know your SPC and Lock code.
P.S. I haven't tried write SPC menu so not sure if we can change SPC code or not.
Also, I tried Send PRL from file menu but no luck with it.
But I could write PRL with LGNPST with the SPC code.

just got my hands on one of these yesterday. it seems to have been "updated" ? I need my MSL to toggle diag mode it seems.
While searching.. I found a few sites that referenced a "first day update" with the notes "MSL protection for ##DIAG# should be on"
What other methods are you guys using to get around this?
I used a script last night to force diag mode... diag and serial com ports show in device manager... I am able to have to ports detected by the windows app mentioned in the OP... but it never reads the phone. I do not think the issue is limited to just CdmaDevTerm Beta V.2. Using DFS, the ports are also detected.. but won't read the phone. QPST as well.
*update*

Are you able to write with CdmaWorkshop? or does it require the 'lg' prl type or anything like that?
sometimes the prl write can fail if you have not sent mode offline or have not sent the spc also
but, it could be a bug in the software. can anyone confirm that you are unable to write the prl to LG OG with cdmaDevTerm(and you ARE able to write prl using cdmaDevTerm to another phone)?

All of the versions that are public should write MDN and MIN okay(done a pretty good number of them myself)--haven't gotten any bugreports there(nv reads may be a bit suspect though.. and I had 1 unconfirmed prl error but never got steps to reproduce and have written prl to many phones myself without issue but my ability to test is limited somewhat)
The terminal emulator thing does not work anymore whether you're rooted or not. Just call Sprint and ask for it, works almost every time. Tell them you're developing an app and you're trying to see if their proxy is messing it up. That's what I did.

People often use these terms interchangeably to describe NV item 85 ie. NV_SEC_CODE_I
the truth is probably slightly more complicated, but i'd say usually yes those are the same thing(there is also a one time programming code on some phones that in some instances may be called spc)

So I have been browsing methods of rooting the Ion bound by ATT.. and none have worked
Some claim the Xperia S method is the same, I tried the rootkit1.0.2 and it failed. Anyone have solutions? I did try the method listed in the Developedment section. Might I have done wrong?
And to prevent confusion I have the LT28at with a locked boot loader.

This one time I was fishing with my friends and my friend had this huge fish on the line. He fought it for like 20 minutes. We thought it was a sturgeon or something. He finally gets it out and it turns out it was a 20 pound soft shell turtle.
He got hooked by the skin of his foot and we couldn't get the hook out so we had to cut a bit of his skin off. He was fine though. We let him go after a thorough photo session.

Hey guys I've seen a few other posts about this issue but haven't come across any solutions that work for me. My gps won't lock when I try to use any type of navigation. When I go to maps my current location is shown but beyond that I get nothing. Tried the power cycle method and I flashed different roms and still have the same issue. Running Jedi X13.

Yeah someone else had the same thing. What Rom TW or CM?? Just wondering where it's coming..

Same problem here, tried many times resetting AGPS data and it simply will not work.
Im using TW. Jedi X14
Had to go back to stock through Odin, and then also used a code in the dialer (forgot what it was, used the IMEI code of your phone in the end) to get a correct CSC for my carrier. Then my GPS started to work again and flashed to whatever ROM.

can you explain what you did step by step? I have been trying to get my gps to work I tried all the custom roms and now im running stock rom and still will not lock. I am about to take it to at&t if none of the above posts wont work.
So after flashing to stock on Odin, I went to the phone app used this dialer code, *#272*IMEI#*
You can find your IMEI code in system settings > about device > status, I believe, a long bunch of numbers/letters. So substitute those numbers/letters for where it says IMEI in that dialer code. Then you'll get a few options for selecting your carrier, choose the correct one and your phone should reset once again.
After that, my GPS started working after I launched Google Maps and was able to pick up satellites in the GPS status app from the Play store.
I'm on a Canadian carrier (Bell), but hopefully this works for you. It is quite a pain to do all this for the sake of the GPS..

And you did remember the asterisk at the end of the code? Other than that, have no idea why that reset code is not working for you..

My phone actaully went right to the CSC menu after I put in that last asterisk.. Not sure. Sorry I couldn't help you. Having no GPS really does suck.
Another option could be to root your phone, again, and download CSC chooser from the Play store. Perhaps an alternative to that code?
Root Required!!!!!!!!
Before Enabling Hidden Menus (Dialer) you will need a “File Manager/Explorer” that has Root Access, if you do not currently have one, follow my instructions below and I will provide you with one free of charge.
Root File Manager/Explorer
This app is called File Manager (Explorer) by Rhythm Software, click >>[HERE]<< to download once completed click open. Go into the “Settings”> go into the Set Home Directory and change the current path from: /storage/emulated/0 to / and hit the OK and it should display “/” in the Settings menu. Scroll down to Root Settings> Root Explorer and check the 1st box, Mount System Folders will become an option check this option as well, there should be 2 boxes checked total under Root Settings (Advanced Users). Congratulations, you have a FREE Root File Manager/Explorer.
It is also Recommended that you Backup your "EFS" Partition before making a changes....
Access Hidden Menu
1) To access the Hidden Menu you must open up the Root File Manager/Explorer (or similar Application) to “/” go into “efs”> “carrier”> “HiddenMenu” press down to Open> then select Text with Text Editor> ***IMPORTANT*** USE CAPITALS *** change the >OFF< to >ON<

Thanks, however, can someone shed some light on this, because all these codes are working on Note 2 even if you are not rooted on stock Rom.
So, what does changing the EFS from OFF to ON?

I followed the instructions perfectly. It caused my data signal not to work.
Luckily, reversing the OFF to ON then rebooting restored data.

That's weird cuz you said you reverted back to ON when it was OFF??
The instructions say turn it ON in the first place. But it's working now which is good.

It was OFF, then after reading this read, I changed it to ON, turned phone off, removed battery, restarted, no data. Waited several minutes, I might add.
Then, I went back in changed it to what it originally stated: OFF. Now everything working.
I'm running cm 11. Would that matter?

I should have wrote, " reversed the ON to OFF"
