Hey everyone,
my friend cracked my Galaxy Note N7100 screen while dancing like an idiot and it fell out of his pocket
do you know where I can go to fix the screen?
The LCD works perfectly..I think it's the glass screen on top that cracked.
I can still use it but I can't bear with it. It looks horrible.
If anyone can tell me where I can go to fix the screen or anybody that fixes the screen for money,
let me know asap..
thanks

This site has OEM note 2 parts. Screens are made high though. Maybe you can find something there. Good luck!

Mine dropped from two feet and hairline cracked across the whole screen. I bought the full assembly LCD/digitizer. Did the repair per LE55ONS. AOK now. afterwards, I tried to pry apart the digitizer glass. In my Note II it is bonded with transparent gum covering the entire LCD. No way to replace only the digitizer on my version of the Note II (I317)
Mine cost $USD 250

Work bought my nexus and I activated on my account. No insurance on these to my knowledge. How hard is it to replace these screens? Crack is in lower left going diagonal to the right screen amazingly still functions.
Thoughts?

Sorry to here about the screen. I never replaced one myself. My recommendation is to watch you tube videos prior to and take your time. The videos make it look easy and it probably is but the connections are very fragile. If you feel resistance at any point be careful not to break the connector. Have the right tools.

There are places online you can get them repaired for a fee.
Unless you are willing to treat the device as a potential write off, I wouldn't jump right in and DIY. In theory it's an easy repair, but it can be quite picky.
Better off letting someone who has plenty of experience in repairing them handle it.
Can't be without phone so will be a DIY job.

I cracked my display about 2 weeks ago. Its not a bad crack (single crack that can't be seen in the dark when looking at the display straight on).
The problem with replacing the display in this phone is that it is fused with the entire digitizer assembly, so the replacement part is quite expensive (~$150).
Oddly enough, that is about what it will cost you to have the phone repaired by Samsung. I called them up and they said that repairs would take up 10-13 business days plus whatever they need to charge.
In the end, I decided that even though the crack saddens me, a repair is not worth $150 with an entirely new phone costing $350.
I will probably just wait for the next Nexus phone and then sell this one for ~$250 or so since it has no other flaws.
No way will you get 250 pounds for a broken screen Nexus you can get like new ones for 270.

Bleh
The glass is fused to the digitizer, but most likely is removable with patience, careful/steady hands and a heat gun. Replacement glass can be purchased from Hong Kong for $25.
I've performed similar procedures on various electronics that have components attached with adhesive, its really not that bad if you take your time.
As the last reported replacement cost from Samsung is $163ish, I wouldn't hesitate to give it a shot. I tend to go into these procedures with a "nothing to lose" attitude and it always seems to work out well. Its when I get stressed out with worry over damaging the item that I usually jack it up. Good luck.

Here's a tear down guide so you can get an idea of what you're looking at....
Dropped and cracked my screen and casing on the 9th July, took it into the Samsung Service centre and for around £135 including VAT i'm gaving a whole new screen +digitizer and casing too. Didn't want to replace as it was a gift from Samsung. Should be getting my Nexus back today too, stellar service from those guys
why do manufacturers fuse display and glass together ??????
there are other devices where you can easily change the glass itself.
i have a crack on my nexus too, but its not worth 150 € to repair it.

Because then you get dust under the screen which sucks to have big time.

It makes it easier for the manufacturer, and the manufacturer would much rather you pay them for repairs than doing it yourself.

Hi
My partner has cracked the glass on the screen of her note 2. I was going to fix it for her but I'm looking for somone with experience fixing the note 2. I recently fixed a cracked screen on my galaxy s 3 by replacing just the glass on the front and using the same lcd etc. It only cost me £25. Is the same repair possible on the note 2 or is it constructed differently? I've had a look online and you can buy the glass from various places.
Thanks
Steve

Did the new replacement fit perfectly as it was before?

Unfortunately, the glass is glued onto the touchscreen which makes it more difficult. Though I've seen somebody posting about fixing it anyway, involving a heat gun to get the glue off, but couldn't find the post on Tapatalk. Perhaps if you search around.

On the GS3 the glass was only glued around the edges of the touchscreen. I was hoping it was the same for the note. I'll have an other look online everything I found for the note was about replacing the whole screen. Loads of info and vids for replacing the galaxy s 3 glass tho. Thats what made me wonder if it was more complicated for the note. I'm still tempted to try it. Worst case is I have to replace the whole screen which I would have to do anyway
Thanks
Steve
Let me know if you are doing this soon
I have gathered all the pieces and tools to repair mine (glass lens, heat gun, pry tools, etc) and have planned to do it on wednesday.
However, I could not find anyone on the internet that have acheived it yet. I hope it's possible

Lucky, mine was glued 100% on the AMOLED display and all. I managed to fix it though, be careful when applying the new superglue to hold the new display as I put in too much and it bled over onto the display surface.

Thanks, this is a change of Digitizer+Glass and the guy wrotes : "Its not possible to replace the glass only without special equipment,"
So,it might not be possible to only un-glue the glass as we see video for S3

And what would "special equipment" be? If it's only a heat gun, then great. But if it needs a clean room with robotic arm, well not so great.

good question. If the screen is broken anyway and my Mrs lets me i'm tempted to give it a go. surely worst thing that happens is I'll need to buy a new screen which I would have to do anyway if I don't try.

Good point, and though I personally haven't done the procedure on this phone, I cannot see how more than a few basic tools plus heat gun shouldn't fix it if you're nimble enough.

Argh, cracked the screen on my 6 week old note 2. everything is shattered around the back button but it all still works fine. My galaxy s2 survived the same fall several times, stupid fat note.
I'm basically stuck with replacing the screen and the digitiser for £180 right? Any UK recommendations? I'm worried its never going to line up the same as it does now
I dropped mine and its cracked in the top right, great phone, **** glass

You can replace glass only ( 20-30$ on ebay ) . You will have too heat up the screen with hairdryer and remove peaces of cracked screen. Its a bit annoying job but nothing complicated. There is enough videos on youtube. After you carefully remove old glass from screen you can apply new glass you bought from ebay. Used to change cracked glasses on several phones and all of them still works perfectly.

I was trying to repair the broken glass on my wife's Galaxy Note 2 (the I317 version) and wound up accidentally tearing a small piece of the ribbon that is glued to the back of the lcd. ( The large, flat peice). Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement for that part? I think its part of the digitizer for the stylus but, I haven't really found anything that is the same.
Check this link..

as many of you may know the glass on the galaxy s3 l710 not sure about the other models is not drop proof I think its just a scratch resistance glass not drop resistance glass I've seen many of post and youtube videos where folks have dropped there phone including me. and get crazy quotes to replace it. so I went digging for other options. first a little over view on the hardware of the phone there is the glass, touch screen digitizer, middle chassis, components that sit on the back of the middle chassis including mother board etc. and then the back cover.
the below youtube video shows how to take phone apart, its not hard just make sure u have the right tools. (very fine phillips head screw drivers etc)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHELvmoX0NY
this video explains why its wiser to go with the replacement touch screen digitizer assembly replacement vs glass replacement if done wrong you can brake the digitizer so best bet go with the digitizer assembly replacement.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkQZHU-SRC8
now here is what I call the exciting part, I have been hearing crazy prices for the touch screen digitizer between 300 and 500 dollars which is funny to me because the phone does not cost that much so the link below is to a website that sells parts for the phone at a very low prices.
http://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale/...30&groupsort=1
I see as low as 112 bucks. I ordered from the alieexpress before some of them ship the tools you need to disassemble the phone. I well be ordering my touch screen digitizer screen for the l710 in a week or two I'll keep you posted on the switch out. I cant wait to get it done I know a couple of phone part venders in the mall who swear you need to go the route with the heat gone etc and they can do it for me for 300 dollars yea right lol
Do you know of a place to get parts for the E4GT? I have a perfectly functional E4GT but it has a broken digitizer. The outer glass itself doesn't even have a scratch

has way better prices, lowest I saw on the repairsuniverse.com for the s3 touch screen digitizer was 169.00
but your post made me do a random google search for samsung galaxy s3 touch screen digitizer and I
am seeing even lower prices on other websites. and the sellers have good ratings. Interesting.
That site is also from Hong Kong and it goes by alibaba.com I've order from here before everything came as is yes it's a bit higher but it's oem
