[Q] Problem with OC... - HTC Wildfire S

hey folks...
this is my first post... (sorry for my bad english )
Im using wildchild rom 2.0... using No-Frills CPU Control i over-clocked my cpu to
Max = 768 Mhz
Min = 122 Mhz
Gov = Scary
I/O = sio
phone runs smoothly without any lags and probs... but when i play music it plays without trouble and when the screen off the music starts to stuck ... and i cannot immediately wake my phone... it takes about 15 sec to get screen on ... sp i changed the gov to - smartassv2 (with same freq)... and checkd the music.. it is playing smoothly.. then i put the phone on charger and gone out... my mom called me thinking that im having the phone... now my mobile got frozen at my mom's incoming call screen.. so i pulled the battery and turned on the phone
pls help.. which is the best frequency, gov for normal use... ( i want better battery backup)...

[Q] Best SetCPU settings?

As topic title suggests what are the best SetCPU settings for this phone (running ARHD 3.0), I'm new to SetCPU and the whole overclocking part of android (not new to android, i've been coming here and rooting etc since the G1 lol). Anyway just wondering if anyone has got any good setups/profiles they wish to share?
At the minute I just have my max at maximum and min at minimum with on demand scaling, nothing else. Any help is appreciated guys, thanks.
I use 245-1032mhz and smartass or interactive governor and I don't use any profiles because smartass locks the cpu @ 245 mhz when the display is turned off
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
245 min, 1228 max, smartass governor.
Works great for me.

245-1032mhz
How is the battery life with 1228MHz?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
On-Demand 1036/245 & On-Demand 460/245 for screen-off.
No lag and battery life is awesome

Tried these settings for a day now and really like them, had the same min and max but with on demand, smartass has definitely been giving me better battery over the course of today.

Yes, smartass is nice. Especially since you don't need an extra "display off" profile. It sets CPU to 254 MHz automatically once the display is off.
That reminds me, is it just me or is adjusting the frequency/temperature etc settings on those sliders a pain in the a**? It'd be much easier if you could enter the digits using the keyboard instead of those sliders. Often the view is blocked by your own hand and setting exact values is almost impossible anyway.

I find On-Demand with a 460max / 245min screen-off profile works far better then Smartass with no profile as 245max caused wake lag for me + music player and Last.fm radio were stuttery when screen was off.
I do agree with your second point

A tip for your hand getting in the way: touch the slider with finger/thumb and slide ur finger/thumb down the screen a bit and then you'll see that then when sliding left or right its like your still on the bar but you can now see what your doing!

I've just installed SetCPU for the first time. Set to smartass and left as 245 and 1036 as set by LeeDroid ROM/Kernel.
Will this increase battery life as opposed to not having Set CPU installed and leaving it as stock?

I find smartass does a better job at reducing the cpu when it's not needed which in turn increases the battery life

[Q] How do you overclock your Gio?

Hey guys, i got cyanogen mod 7.2 installed on my phone, and whenever i tried to change the max cpu speed from the settings, it would now work after boot. Most of the market programs i use freeze as soon as i try to apply my changes. I got "No-frills Cpu control" to work once, so i made it 844 max clock speed. (I confirm using android system info app"). EDIT: after another frozen reboot, the clock speed has gone back down to 787 again -_- . So frustrating!!
So i was wondering, which app do you use to overclock your gio that doesnt freeze?

Which is the best governor for gaming performance?
Performance or smartass v2
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda premium
For performance the best governor is "performance". It causes that processor overclocking is always the highest. It means that if you have overclcked processor at 921MHz, with this governor phone will always work at 921MHz. But don't use it, it drains battery as hell
The best governor for daily use is SmartassV2, because it's balance between performance and battery
And sorry for my English :|
Na szczęście jest TapaTalk
which 1 is best for daily uses????
i am using smartassv2 but sometimes my phone becomes very very slow takes 1mint to slide the status bar phone apps etc.....
what is i/o schedular??? is it effect the speed?? which 1 is best???
Now I just use the On demand governor. Smartassv2 drains my battery pretty fast

Yup,any overclock will drain your battery quicker, this is very logical as you consume more power, right?I use No Frills CPU control, and i have my galaxy Gio set to 921 Mhz....! It realy works like asmall little pocket rocket now...I was already very satisfied with the price/performance ratio of this cheap little phone, but now with this stable OC it really hits it out of the park!!!No complaints from me about this phone..I'm gonna try and achieve an even higher oc,but it's really not a must, just want to know how far i can push it.No Frills has a benchmarker impemented ,very handy.

That's true. But smartass is just like balance between perfomance and battery drain, which makes it the best governor

What kernel and app are you using to undervolt?
Also not all phones(chips) are built the same, while one phone maybe able to run -200mV yours may only be able to handle -75mV.

Undervolting is a time consuming process if you wanna take it as low as your phone will allow.
My process is to drop everything 25mV-100mV then test, run bechmarks, play games, run stablility test then drop a little more. If everything is good or drop everything 5-10mv and test again once everything is stable with a full drop across the table I'll start droping individuals until I get to a point where it is unstable and raize it back up a few mV and move on to the next.
Again your phone may not like a full 100mV drop on some of the steps try droping 75mV on the top 3 steps (not sure if your overclocking too) and 100 on everything else.
"Post your undervoting values."
Well, I forgot to vote in the local school district elections and the doggone supplemental levy failed. I'll never undervote again.

[SOLVED] link2sd,int2ext+ not working.

Hello,
i have htc wildfire s (marvel,rooted,s-on,stock 2.3.5 rom).i have facing problems with internal storage tweaks, like link2sd isn't working on my phone and also i have tried cronmod int2ext+ its working for a while (one-two weeks) then automatically my phone slow down and then restart self and all my apps data removed.
i dont know what is problem, might possible if i ported many different rom before?if anyone have solution please help.
Are you using stock kernel? Flash cake kernel or dust and try link2sd again.

im using stock kernel.can you send me link of both kernels and which one is best for good battery life? and also tell me about min, max, gov. setting for them because i dont know much.
and i just have to flash it via recovery ? i need to wipe anything like dalvik cache or partition cache?
thanks in advance.
I'm from phone so I won't be able to provide you link right now. You can search it in the development section.
You just need to flash the zip without any wipes or anything.
I personally like smartass v2 as it gives a balance between performance and battery with cfq scheduler. Set minimum to whatever doesn't give you lag and max to 787.

Smartass governor works better when it cones to savings battery as well as thrusting performance. I'd suggest you try it once. I really have no specific knowledge about any perfect input output scheduler but cm cones with cfq and i used to go with noop on my sense roms. It's all about smoothness isn't it?

A lower cpu min cpu frequency is preffered but it should be high enough to cause no lag when unlocking the phone. 245 Mhz is the ideal frequency

Music lags when screen off

This is a notice to everyone....
I just recently discovered that if your cpu governer is smoothass and if your io governer is sio then your music will lag when the sceen is off and if the minimum frequency is below 245Mz. Issue dosnt exist with smartassv2 or others.
I use Google play Music so i dont know if this issue exists with other players. Im also using the cm10 jelly king v1.2 rom by kantry.

Its probably just how the governor deals with off screen mode. Besides dropping to low on the frequencys can lead to boot loops and the phone not being able to wake up :/ I'd say 245mhz is low enough
