Alright, so I have an issue. My issue is regarding the HBO GO app. I downloaded it off of the play store and now every time I try to launch it is fails and crashes on start-up. (I've heard that you can edit the build.prop to get this to work; if that's the case, here is my build.prop. If anyone has an heal it would be greatly appreciated.(This is the ROM i'm using.)
Did yiu try wiping cache

Is google drive working for anybody? I click on it and a dialog box comes up and says "Unfortunately, drive has stopped" I've tried uninstalling it and rebooting multiple times. Maybe it's something with a new update because it was working not that long ago
Yup
I noticed it stopped working a few weeks ago. The current version on my phone is 1.2.228.32, and I think I remember the Kindle and phone versions updated at/around the same time. At this point, I'm just waiting for the next update, hoping that it'll be fixed...

That's the version I'm running without issue.
Try clearing data and cache and then possibly reinstall.

I did try that and several reinstalls. I also tried converting it to a system app in case it needed permissions it wasn't getting, but no dice. It gives me an option to generate a bug report like any other crash, but the Play Store crashes if I try to do that ("Google Play Store has stopped") without an option to report.
It's nice to hear that you can run it though. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this? I've also tried clearing data and cache on the Play Store, but that's about as far as I went. Would be nice to get it running again so I can edit documents...
I found a backup I had made about 4 months ago! It's version 1.1.470.15 and it seems to be working just fine. If anyone's interested, I can send you the apk via a PM (I don't think I can post attachments yet due to my newbie-ness).
Hi guys,
I have a 1st Gen Kindle Fire and I just rooted it a few hours ago. I've been trying to figure out how to put the Play Store on it, but nothings working. I'm pretty sure it's all installed, but I get the "process com.android.vending has stopped unexpectedly" message. How do I get around this? I downloaded the latest files and everything seems to work well except that it crashes every time I open it. Yes I've changed the read only permissions in the ES File Explorer. What else can I do? I'd like to have the Play Store on here by the end of the day. I'm running 6.3.2.
Put it in system/app

I've been using my Amazon Fire TV for about 2 weeks and love it. netflix was working fine. Today it will not complete loading anything. Just hangs there. Nothing has changed since yesterday in the setup.
Any ideas?
thanks,
Patti
I don't know if this will help or not but assuming you have already cleared data/cache I had a similar problem where Netflix would do the same thing before eventually saying to try again later or try another video.
My solution was to use a new HDMI cable. I don't know why Netflix doesn't give you a more helpful error message but such is life.
Hope this helps!

Hi all,
Is anyone else unable to open any videos from netflix? It keeps crashign to the main screen as soon as video buffers to 99%
ive tried
uninstall/reinstall
clear cache and data and re sign in
reset to factory default of fire stick
DNS to googles 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4
calle netflix
called amazon
no one knows the answer. clearly there should be a solve easier then replacing the device??
any help greatly appriciated.
thanks
Do you have a video on pause in the background in Kodi?
No I don't even have Kodi installed.
I have narrowed to problem down to the netflix app.
Been playing YouTube for a while now without any issues at all.
No one else has experienced Netflix crashing on video load?
Any devs here?
I am pretty certain the problem is due to bad coding in the netflix app, since some nexus TV users were having this issue also.
I want to side load play store version of Netflix apk on to this thing. Are they the same app? Is this even possible and will the android play store version of Netflix run on FireOS?
Thanks
Can a mod move this to help and trouble shooting please? I just realized I posted in the wrong forum.
Thanks

Try clearing the cache in Amazon Instant Video app. Then Clear its data, don't worry you don't have to sign back in. Then clear cache in instant video app again. restart stick. Let us know if it helps

doesnt help mate.
can i install the phone version of netflix APK on the firestick? will it have issue of screen size differences?
I have found that if I use the netflix mobile app on a phone to find a video, and then "cast" it to the fire stick, it plays every single time with no problems. Video after video no issues. I can even exit app on phone and it keeps playing in the stick.
You may want to try this with the YouTube app also because it offers the cast functionality as well.
Based on this I know for sure it is not ISP related or hardware related. It is improperly coded app that was not properly tested before it was released.
behold the solution folks

Joseph L. says:
If you're having problems with Netflix loading to 99% and then crashing: Log on to your Netflix account via web browser on your computer, go to "your account" which is the settings page, and click test participation and toggle it off. That will make Netflix stop trying to play the Sense 8 ad that is causing this issue.

Wow! You were determined to find a solution and you did! Thanks! Netflix wasn't crashing for me but I was having the same problem above where it loaded to 99%. I haven't been able to test for results yet. Shouldn't take long. This annoying glitch popped up about 3 times daily...
It's anyone else having issues with the Kindle app? Mine is freezing, crashing, and not signing in to my account or syncing. Thought I had it worked out after clearing data and deleting device from my account, but a few days after signing back in and it's messed up again.

I use the Kindle app regularly (at least a half hour per day, multiple times per day) and haven't noticed any issues.
Same - I use the kindle app, but mine is based on the Japanese store. Not sure if that makes any difference.
So weird, I still can't get it to work. Tried deleting some devices from my account, no change. Cleared data, reinstalled, installed from either the Amazon app or Google play, all no joy. Was working on Note 4 and is still working on PC and tablet.

I use my kindle app a ton - not a single issue with mine on the N7 (or any other device in the past for that matter). Odd that you are having issues with it.
So I found a solution. Uninstall all Amazon apps, clear the data and cache for the built in amazon app, reboot, then reinstall Kindle app. I found I was having same issue for Amazon Music, this fixed that too.
