bent antenna connection

i had to file a claim with asurion, they sent me a dinc 2. its a nice phone. i noticed today when going over it, that one of the tabs to connect the back antenna is bent. i tried to bend it back and flinggg part of it flew off. its the one to the shorter antenna strip. i need you guys opinion, will this effect me? part of the tab is still there and i think its hitting the connection but i dont kno, the ocd in me wants to keep working on it. and i dont want to deal with assurion again cause they are hell to deal with. please any insites would be awesome.
unfortunately this phone won't work without the back battery cover, because it has those connectors to give you service. I coincidentally have a brand new OEM back case. ur for cheap if you need. PM me.
they are sending refurbs with the back cover with this phone so I kept one, and they never charged me so it's brand new.
Same thing happened here - just got a pair of dinc2's as replacement for our craptastic fascinates. Both came with the backs included, and they sent us a pair of new backs, which i'll be keeping as spares since they're so critical on this phone. not the kind of thing you can go without for a day or two.

You really shouldn't try bending things that look out of place. You can try warranty replacement but if you mention what you did or they check before sending the replacement (I believe they cross-ship so this may not apply) then they are likely to reject warranty replacement and will require another insurance replacement.
With new/refurb devices that are in warranty, it's best to return it if there's a manufacturing defect.
thing is i dont honestlly know if ti was a manufacturing defect. the phone seems fine service wise. it jumps around like my inc1 did service wise. so it seems good for now. and i know i need the back, it wolnt even make a call without it. im gonna hold off and roll the dice and see if it holds up. i dont want to deal with assurion again, and once u do it thru them u have to call them if anythigns wrong with it. u can't call vz and say i need a replacement after u get a phone from asurion. sux. any other advice u guys have? if u google android central htc inc 2 review it shows the prongs in the one photo. the back has nothing to do with where mines bent, its on the board of the phone..
just now: i did what u said, called assurion, talked to an awesome rep. new phone is coming tomm. its going to be a brand new phone too, no referb. he was no bs, and took care of my prob. thanks guys.

going to disassemble my t989

just need some instruction, seems like the backcover is still enforced withsomething(after removing the screws, ofc) anyone know how to take it off? or better yet, does anyone have a service manual for this phone?
also, if anyone want me to take a pic of a specific part..do ask now
figured out how to get the cover off, anyone know how to get to the mainboard(theres the simtray blocking it)

D855 OEM screen replaced but touch not working

Hello all
I dropped my G3 a few months ago and cracked the screen. Recently got it replaced with a brand new OEM screen.
When I boot the phone, the touch works properly, can navigate the menus, everything. As soon as I turn the screen off, only knock on works but the touch doesn't work. I can't unlock the phone unless I remove the battery and boot again. There's no touch available in TWRP as well.
I'm currently flashing a stock ROM, Android L, hoping that it will solve the problem. If it doesn't, I fear I may have to resort to other methods. If any of you have experienced this, please let me know as to what steps you've taken to remedy it.
Thank you in advance.

Did you do it yourself or did you send it in or take it to a repair shop? If you didn't do it yourself, I would take it back and demand they fix it at no extra cost.
If you did it yourself, did you get the screen with the digitizer along with it? Just replacing the screen, on most phones, without getting a digitizer already fused to it means trouble.
Also, if you did it yourself, check all connections. I know with my daughters iPod, I had to replace the screen and it wasn't easy and the first time, all the touch areas didn't work correctly. You also have to be careful that you don't ruin the digitizer when installing the screen.
Also, you have to be real careful of all the connectors and the board. One wrong move and you could tear a cable, crack the main board, etc. I refuse to do any more self maintenance on devices like this. Best to either shell out the cash to have it fixed, or just get a new one. That, or also get extended warranties to cover damage to the device.
Also, did you have it in a case protector? If not, you might want to go get one. Otterbox's are worth the money. Yes, it makes the phone bulkier, but I'd rather pay $40 or so for their protector which really helps.

A friend who's an LG technician did it for me. Replaced the screen and digitizer I believe. He tested it on another G3 and the screen works perfectly. Given that the screen works on another G3, do you think it is likely that this is a software issue and not hardware?
I have a case that came with the phone but I've never used it, however, that's definitely going to change from now on.

I can't even pretend to know what might be the issue. I would take it back to your friend and ask him to look at it, if not replace it again.

Yeah, he asked me to return it to stock and then test it seeing as his internet speed sucks, and if it still sin't working then he'll take it back to work on it.
Will report back if the software update works or not.
Just an update, flashing to stock didn't work. Only way I can use the phone now is to set the screen to never turn off

I've tried everything, finally figured out that it only works with the quick circle case. If I close the case and wait for the circle to show up then open it, touch works. It's probably something internal that's messed up but I've since given the phone to LG themselves for a quote and possible repair.

Zenfone 2 screen broken

Hello everyone
My screen is broken and I would like to know if someone has any suggestion on what I can do to fix it. When I open the screen on the look screen its very dark and flashes for a second and goes black. Same thing happen when im able to unlock it. The only think I have done to this phone is root it and I put a universal wireless charger. I don't know if the universal wireless charger broke the screen but I only use it ones and it worked but then it broke because it was a cheap charger. The phone looks like it working but I can't really use it to find out.
This happened to my phone ones before but somehow it fixed it self I don't know how. Anyone know what I can do to fix it?
See attachments these are the only good pic I can get because any other place its just black and flashing.
Unroot and rma. I wouldn't mess with it if it's not caused by a drop and under warranty

Volume Power Button Cable Replacement Q

So I noticed my tablet wasn't really turning on when I pushed the power button. I took it apart, cleaned the contact points following a post I found on here, then the small metal connector flew off due to me loosing grip of the "tape" holding it on. I ordered a replacement part and I noticed there isn't a lot of info on how to change it, take it out, precautions to take or anything. My tablet is running the newest OS of android for the nexus 7, and is turned on. I would post a picture, but apparently I need to make 10 posts before I can do that...
My question (s) are:
1: Should I take out the battery to do this? I've seen a guy on youtube do that, and I don't know if that is a step I need to take.
2: How exactly does it come out? I've only seen one video of a guy taking it out and putting it back in. I couldn't see much due to the fact that where it connects is small. I want to make sure I don't break anything else.
and 3: I've heard people say that you need a "spludger" for this or something, I don't know what that is, but then again, I also heard someone else say you can use a toothpic to do the same thing. Is that safe?
Thanks for taking your time to read this, and I hope someone out there can help me out. I really just want to get the thing to turn back on with out me needing to plug it into the charger, or move the "power to the volume button" ect.
Any advice at all would be helpful.
I'm not sure what you worry about, it's an easy component to deal with.
Don't remove the battery, just disconnect its black plug.

I just never really tinkerd with something like this. I know it looks easy, but I never opened a zif seal or w/e its called. What exactly do I flip up?
I'm sorry for my "Noob" questions, I'm normally good with hardware stuff, but I want to just make sure I do this right.

No worries :good:
See the black flap?
Flip it up, slide out/in the connecting ribbon and flip it down to secure the connection.
