Will the Note 2 be covered under normal 2 year warranty circumstances if the screen will become annoying to use after it has burned in?
Be careful in the selection and duration of television formats used for viewing. Uneven CRT or Plasma Display Panels aging as a result of format selection and use, as well as other burned-in images, is not covered by your Samsung limited warranty.
That is Samsung official statement about it´s displays, AMOLED family could have same treatment...but wait...

They offered replacement for S3 burn in according to this article!!!
I have burn in effect on my Samsung Galaxy Note 2. At first it was difficult to see and from past few days it is worse and starts to be annoying. My question is- Does Samsung warranty cover burn in ? (Someone says that covers and some said it does not cover)
The device is not even a year old
having same problem here. Appeared spontaneously after flashing Hurricane V10 but don't think it is for the rom. Hoping that the screen will last for at least half year more til nexus 6(or nexus 5 2014 ed.) appear

Have any of you noticed paint peeling off the chrome bezel unveiling black color, and/or cracked bezels, and/or scratches when they first received their Note 2's as a result of poor quality control / manufacturing defects?
This inquiry is only applicable to International Note 2 N7100's;
I have noticed that, US Carrier (Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, & AT&T) Units do have signs of these, which is completely absurd.
I want to know if any of the International users have experienced this, yet.
Thanks
No.
Nope.

Mines has been in a case since day 1. So I haven't noticed anything; I'm too lazy right now to take the case off and check... Maybe on my next case rotation...
no not seen any note 2 here, like u mentiond but may b some device has got tht
No. Neither does the chrome bezel seem to scratch easily! I always carry it in my jeans pocket n have samsung flip cover on it most of the time.
The chrome part of my S-Pen was chipped after dropping it. It has a white color part now. I feel bad looking at it lol. Only flaw on my Note 2 yet.
I got mine.
Not from the beginning yeah but I don't even know when it happened.
Pic coming up eta 10 mins.

Many have spotted small gaps between the bezel and the glass of the display. I have cross-checked with over '12' Note 2 pieces across several stores, and they all have this gap in various areas, (i.e. top of the unit, bottom of the unit, and near the power / volume controls).
Secondly, although I could not find this on my T-Mobile Note 2 (I even used a magnifying glass to confirm), some of you may have noticed that the bezel is NOT 100% molded. If you inspect closely, you will notice a joint at which it appears your bezel is cracked, but is not. You might find this disappointing, but according to Samsung standards, the joint appearance is completely normal. Some joints (meeting of both sides of the bezel) will be very prominent, and some will not (in the case of mine).
Unfortunately, Samsung does not have consistent quality control with their devices, and you will definitely spot manufacturing variations, but don't be alarmed.
You should really consider these variations as consistent according to Samsung's quality control.
---
Visiting the squeaking back cover again, this sometimes also occurs when the end-user forcefully removed the back-cover by chance. Treat your Note 2 with care.
However, some back-covers are indeed cheaply Made by Samsung, and the clippings are not always made consistently; therefore, you will see different results from unit to unit.

I dont have any of those traits on my phone but I was wondering if it has any relation to where the device was manufactured. Mine says Made in Korea by Samsung. If we can ask people to mention if they have this defect or not and specify the country of origin we could get a better picture here.
Sent from the Rabbit Hole
Users that have the Verizon Note 2 (Made in Korea) have similarly experienced the same blemishes on their Note 2's.
Come to the N7100,
I saw another 'four' Note 2's (2 were white and 2 were grey) all Made in Korea (International Version; N7100), and they had similar appearances in respect to the sub-par chrome paint job as well.
One Grey unit had a severely loose power button.
The White units had bigger gaps between the bezel and display than the grey version.
All four devices had loose volume buttons.
The joints on the bezels on those four units were very visible compared to the U.S. Carrier versions which did not have any.
Those four units were Made in Korea; therefore, country of origin doesn't seem to play a role here compared to previous Galaxy models.
Having a defective note 2 out the box and on my second, can someome confirm top middle of phone silver bezek next to ear peice clicks- is this correct or faulty please
Had this problem with my old Note 1, after a year of abuse. Dropped couple of time, finally some chrome paint peel off.
But not with my new Note 2 lte, not yet.

I noticed recently that the part of the bezel closest to the display is starting to chip off and the white plastic underneath is clearly visible. But that wasn't much of a defect it's the area that rubbed against the floor after I dropped it. Other than that I haven't had issues with any of the hardware buttons. I'm not much concerned anymore since I can easily buy another housing online for as cheap as 10buks and easily replace it with minimal effort.

I just got this xmas am. Samsung galaxy 10.1 2014 edition. These lines have become more frequent in the past few days. On top of these, the note keeps crashing and freezing. I am not thrilled. Anyone know what is going on?

It sure looks like a hardware issue, maybe a memory fault. I would take it back to the supplier for an exchange. Sorry.
Them lines are basically the same appearance as the wacom digitizer...very odd.
If you have a look at this wacom digistizer picture near the sides it is identical to the one you have running across in your screen. The Note 10.1 2014 has that exact matrix on the entire screen however its transparent and its only barely visable under BRIGHT lighting and specific angles.

I'm no expert but yours could be hardware or software - I'd just go back and get a replacement.
Do you have a hand strap on your case/cover that touches the screen when closed ?
I've seen reports of the strap leaving a dirty "imprint" on the screen that you can actually wipe away with a cloth.
I see this on my S4... the Smart Cover window always leaves a rectangular dirty mark on my screen that I can wipe away.
Might be something else though...
Hope you get it solved... it must be like having an injured child

Is it possible to use warranty for back light bleed?, i recently notice the backlight bleed alot...at the bottom of the screen while watching movies :/
Po678
@Po678 how long have you had the device? Its a worthy reason for an exchange depending if within refund period.
Personally I think you will be able to use warrenty as its a fault with the screen from manufacture but call them up and tell them you WANT them to fix it rather than ASKING them.

Hello Z Fold 3 users,
so I have been playing around with my Fold 3 for a month now and I have noticed two things that are really bothering me:
1) Inner crease bump and strange clicking noise when pressing on it - when touching the inner display crease like 1/3 way up from the bottom there is a visible bump in the inner screen. When I touch it it goes down under the pressure and giving the strange clicking noise like the part of the screen is not properly mounted. Anyone experiencing the same issue ?
2) Recently (like one or 2 days ago) I have noticed that when I am using the inner screen sometimes I have black screen appears for like half of the second and then goes back to normal. I am now trying to replicate the issue on the outer screen just for testing purposes but I think something is wrong with my inner screen. Anyone experiencing the same issue ?
I've had mine for about a month now, and i've noticed the inner crease has become a lot more pronounced. It was hardly there at first but now its really noticeable. I'm still happy with the device though.
I don't know how close your issue is to mine but I had an air bubble along crease and a few days later it got bigger and put pressure on the crease until the crease has a thick solid black line from top to bottom and the right side of inner screen no longer worked.
I managed to get it fixed through warranty by going to a samsung service center but not before the phone rep and store rep try to make it seem like I was responsible for the issue. They ended up repairing it in 3 hours but they did a professional job. I thought the phone was a replacement. Had stickers everywhere like when you first buy it. Would have preferred a replacement so I could avoid waiting but that's what Samsung care plus is for with the $250 deductible.
P.S, if you have care plus and you have an issue that is covered through warranty, don't tell them you have care plus or they'll try to get you to do it through them and they always charge that $250 deductible. Warranty repairs are free
@Sugaaa - I think I will wait for now. I read a lot of posts on reddit and a lot of users reported similar thing as I did (inner crease bumps and clicking sound when pressing, they even contacted Samsung support and they said it is normal since one part of the screen is not attached because of the brushes inside the hinge).
As for the second issue (black outs on the inner screen) - I did not notice it on the outer screen, so probably there is either software issue or (I hope not) the hardware issue with the screen. I will be watching the inner screen and if the issue still persists I will go to the Samsung service center. Unfortunately it is very difficult to replicate this issues since it happens randomly :/
By the way - I can see a lot of users complaining about the Z Fold 3. I had Fold 2 previously and I told myself I would never buy Fold 3 but I did... It is terrible that you buy a phone which costs 2000 dollars and you have a lot of issues with it..
As for the Z Fold 2 I had like 6 or 7 versions from different distributors and they all had loose hinge and crackling hinge noise from the beginning - believe me I could not even use the phone without noticing it so I ended up buying another phone. It seems that Samsung made a hinge in Z Fold 3 a lot stronger but still you have another issues to complain about..

Sounds like a hardware issue if you've already updated software to the latest. Reset the phone, capture video of it while doing it as well as showing it was freshly reset so they don't tell you to reset it to fix the issue, then show them the video. They'll either give you another one or replace the main board on the same day. Since you said it's random, have a camera set up ready to record any time you use the phone like on a desk.
Majority of fold 3 haven't had issues. We're just unlucky. I bought my fold 3 512gb lke new on fb for $950 then got a free warranty repair so can't complain. What I don't like is their reps deciding if phone will be covered under warranty. Lots of people are given a hard time and multiple visits and workarounds to get that free repair or replacement

I got my phone for $850 (no trade in) I just need to stay on my $30 per month phone subscription plan for 21 months. On top of that got freebies and one year free Care+.
I think Samsung just inflated the recommended price and then give huge discount to entice buyer. Samsung never intended to sell the phone at $2000.
Fingers crossed my phone screen can last. Worst case get it replaced using care+.

I think so too. I got a good deal at au$1,300 for the 512 GB model, (us$967, but includes 10% sales tax, so really about us$880) basically half price by trading in my Z Flip. I bought the ZF for au$1, 000 last year, got $1,300 trade-in!
I also got 2 years of care+ at half price. I'm happy to go naked with the confidence that I can get up to two replacements for any reason
Edit: oh yes, a local Aussie retailer was giving away a Samsung tv and ear pods with the Z Flip 3 too. It is definitely overpriced to allow deals that con you into thinking you're getting a bargain. Still happy though!

Not the case, as mine was $1,800. I did get the $200 Samsung credit from their app, but wasn't even told about it until I contacted Samsung chat about a different freebie listed on the site that the QR Code in the phone box goes to. I bought mine from Sprint so I could pay in installments.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Fold 3 256GB which is less than 4 months old. All of a sudden there is a thick black line anytime I unfold the device on the main screen. The right side of the main screen is also completely unresponsive to touch. The black line is as thick as the fold and does not go away. Main display was completely damaged automatically.
This appears to be a very clear flaw in the device as I've read many other posts regarding the same exact issue. Why is Samsung not taking responsibility for this flaw?
Ok so after 4 months of moderate usage, there is a major flaw in this foldable phone.
When unfolded the fold 4 is not full flat at 180 degrees and it sits like a butterfly with inward angle.
Went straight to a samsung cafe and blasted them with this stupid problem and they politely accepted to replace the bezels, inner display, hinge, etc.
Only front display and back panel will be of the existing phone, rest battery inside display etc will be replaced.Thank Lord this was covered under warranty.
Any one else faced this problem?

I’ve had mine for 4 months as well.. haven’t encountered it sitting like a butterfly with an inward angle.
Would have been nice to see a photo of this issue, but I’m glad you was able to get the issue resolved. I intend to keep my Fold4 longer than the one year warranty period… so, I have Care+.
I'm glad you got your issue resolved.
I've read about others having a similar issue and doing different things to resolve it but the hinge is covered by Samsung's warranty so any problem with the phone fully opening or closing is always better off being referred to Samsung or your carrier if you bought it through a carrier. They will arrange a warranty repair or warranty replacement.
So 2 months ago my back panel with hinge and front display was replaced, under warranty.
Now within 2 months I am facing the same problem again, when unfolded the inner display is not fully flat.I will get the hinge replaced and and thinking of selling it and upgrade to s23.But I will miss the screen estate of the fold 4 so don't know what to do exactly. Can samsung replace my phone altogether?
