Full Reformat? Do you mean Wipe all the data in your phone?
For the V6 you can go here for full-guide and downloads.

Do you mean like: "Out-of-the-box?" If so,
1. Do you have ClockWorkMod? If you have CWM, you can easily Wipe All Data (Factory Reset, Wipe Cache Partition and Dalvik Cache).
2. Are you going back to your old ROM (I mean Stock ROM)? If so, you can go here to look for newest stock Firmware.
CMIIW.
i want also to remove the prev folder all of them

No kernel, you need to grab one. I suggest Genocide 2.0. You can flash them back to back.
Also FYI, there is a Q and A section for questions. some internet police wanna be mods may get upset. Also kernel is with an e...

Yeah, the purple CWM. Wipe data, cashe, and dalvik 3 times each, install zip from sd card, kernel, install zip, rom, reboot.
That will get you there.

Hello, as of now i am on the CDMA CM9 nightly ROMs. I have recently installed a mod that tweaks the notification bar, which can be found here. Since i have installed it do i have to do anything different when flashing the latest nightly? correct me if im wrong.
1. Make a nandroid backup
2. install zip from sd (do i need to wipe?)
3. chose the latest nightly
and after i install the latest nightly will i have to reflash my kernel and mod i previously installed?
Thanks in advance!
If you are installing a nightly on top of CM9 you should wipe both cache and dalvik cache before flashing.
And yes, you will have to re-flash any mods or kernels as well.

So if I flash a nightly on another nightly I have to wipe both the dalvik and normal cache? But I don't have to clear all user data, right?

No need to wipe data. You may need to flash gapps again after the rom flash though.

If I boot up without gaps I can always flash it by going back into clockwork right?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
Don't understand why..
I flashed the boot.img included in the zip via fastboot
then i went into recovery and installed FXPCM7
rebooted
Stuck on FreeXperia logo for 30mins.
Whats going on?
After you flash the kernel boot into recovery...
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache
then go into advanced then wipe dalvik cache
Then flash the CM7.zip
Let me know how it goes - good luck
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cache partition
- advance > dalvik cache
install FXPCM7
tried it, still stuck on FreeXperia logo
do i need to be on stock when installing it?
I am currently on the enhanced v2 firmware with doom kernel..
update:
tried stock too, doesnt work..
Hm try this
Redownload CM7
using flash tool flash this FTF - It has the newest baseband and largest user partiton
flash the kernel that came with CM7
Enter recovery and..
> factory reset
> wipe cache partiton
go into advanced and
>clear dalvik cache
Then install the CM7 zip from sd-card let me know how it goes
Thanks, but that was the firmware i was on.
I tried that method twice but the same thing kept happening to me
stuck at FreeXperia logo
Just to check if the problem is specific only to CM7 rom itself try installing another rom like Gin2Jellybean - Good luck
I have used various ROMS (all working perfectly) such as:
Gin2ICS/JellyBean
xDarkICS 4.0.3
Xperia NXT
JokaWild
Advanced Stock
So I think it may be just a problem with CM7?
Oh that's strange, try to download it again or try another build from here
tried the stable build now.. same problem :/
EDIT:
Tried flashing doom kernal, this time it actually boots.. touch screen doesnt work but it boots..
Is there another kernal i can use that works?
help please? would love to get cm7

I finally figured out how to do it. Go in CWM and delete user data, dalvik cache, cache, and then go to the Mounts and Storage menu, and Format the System Partition. Make sure not to clear the SD partition on accident. Anyways, this is the only way I could get it to work

Hey guys, I just bought my Galaxy S III, I'm coming from the S II.
On the S II, there would be an installation process that I remembered by heart after flashing several times:
Open CWM
Backup
Install Darkside SuperWipe
Flash ROM
Flash gapps
Install Darkside Cachewipe
Reboot
Wait 10 min
Reboot.
While I've been on the S III forums for the past 2 days I haven't seen any of the devs have an installation guide, I figured I might have to wipe dalvik, wipe data or something but haven't tried just yet. Maybe I could just flash ROM over it.
If there's a process can someone please tell me.
Thank you, greatly appreciated.

So does SuperWipe work for every phone?
My .zip file for SuperWipe says SGH-T989_Darkside_superwipe.zip

Let the phone sit for 5 mins then reboot
Haven't had any SOD or RR, should I stick to what I did?

So, should I just stick to what I did previously?
I depends what u are looking for in a ROM..... if u like stock aosp then aokp is probably the most stable but there are tons of features on touchwiz ROMs that have me going back and forth... so its all preference really if u like stock jellybean

Hello all,
My device is Galaxy Wonder gt8150..
im using cyanogen mod 10 alpha 7
recovery mode still default..
yesterday i try to update my kernel to yoon kernel chronos.. i install that kernel through recovery mode..
after installing kernel i reboot my device but when the reboot processing, it says cant access system/csc/xse/system..
what should i do? i cant access my external sd card too..
1. Make sure you flashed the right kernel. hadi made 2 versions of Yoon.kernel, one for ICS, and one for JB.
2. After flashing, did you remember to wipe cache + Dalvik cache? It's very important.
3. Try the following from your recovery: wipe cache, wipe Dalvik cache, Fix Permissions
4. If all fails, reflash your ROM, but this time, go the *Pristine* way (thread in the General forum).

Probably one of the init.d scripts 'hung'.
If you're using TWRP, mount /system then go to /system/etc/init.d and rename *all* files there: append ".disabled" (without quotes) to each. Then, reboot.

AFAIK, CWM has no file manager, unlike TWRP...
That's why I prefer TWRP instead of CWM now. It's much more functional.

Arco's latest kernel introduced a new driver, which needs changes in the ROM. Older ROMs won't work with the latest kernel, and vice versa.
Perhaps your kernel cooker hasn't integrated Arco's fix yet? Try asking the kernel maker...
