I have an Evo 3G roted with a ton of apps. Can I take my Titanuium backup from that phone and restore selective apps and data to my G3.
I have a couple apps that I no longer have the credentials for to re download from the app store without paying for them again.

You should be able to do that. You will need to be rooted on the GS3 in order to restore. I was able to restore some apps from my Evo 4G to the GS3 using Titanium. Not sure if all apps can be restored or not. I would not try to restore any system setting or data. That could be a problem.
If you're rooted, use titanium and it should work. Just restore the apps & app data, and not system data. Also, don't. Restore them as a batch operation, do just 2 or 3 at a time, and test them, then continue.

I can vouch and say that it does work. I moved from the HTC Evo 4G OG and used Titanium Backup to bring all of my old apps and data to my new phone. You will have to have BOTH devices rooted in order to use the backup as well as the SD card or the information.
Yes, I went from an Epic 4G to an S3 using MyBackup Pro. Restored all the app data. As long as you don't try to restore the basic system data you should be fine.
Great, that is what I was hoping for
I also went from an Evo 3D to the SGS3. Just make sure that you don't restore data that was specific for the Evo. For instance, if you have setcpu, don't restore the data because that was specifically for the E3D. Otherwise, you won't have any problems.

ok, I have heard a lot of good reports on this app, My Backup Root. So, am I just doing something wrong?
I first tried My Backup Root, and it "seemed" to work fine, but I didn't' actually use the phone much afterward as I had just gotten a replacement from Sprint and was only trying it out before switching phones. Then, after I did the switch I discovered that I needed Pro to restore to a different phone. So, I purchased it and restored everything. But, I noticed I was getting a lot of FCs. Thinking it was the ROM ( I also tried the new EG22 ROM by decad3nce at the same time) and so I flashed to the RandomROM EG22, and restored my apps. But, I am getting the same thing, lots of apps just FC on me. I have found though that if I uninstall the app and reinstall it, the app works just fine. So, it seems to be a restore problem.
For the record, I am only doing the apk backup, no data. I have read lots of great reports on this app, so what am I doing wrong?
I used to love my backup pro but lately it has been doing that to me too, lost a lot of game save files because of it. I eventually gave up on it and bought titanium backup pro for aps. I still use mybackup to backup everything else but it fudges apps.

I've been having similar problems. a work around that works for me (most of the time) is restore the app and the data separately.
I have a 2-3 weeks old gnex unrooted with stockrom.
I want to root and switch rooms, but keep my app data.
Is there anyway to do this?
Google has a backup service, but i have no idea how it works.
There are mainly 4-5 app datas i want to keep. incl Wifi data, gta III, World of goo...
Is there anyway to root without data wipe?
Thank you
You can try this or you may have success using mybackup from the market. I'd have thought that the phone could be rooted without unlocking but a little searching seems to reveal the opposite.
Thanks will try that! Cheers

as far as i know thats the whole point of those green ti backup items.
if i remember correctly i restored both accesspoints and accounts
Gotta say it's pretty dependent on the case.
I've had 2x Galaxy S and I've now got the Galaxy Nexus. Haven't had problems restoring apps from one phone to the other. I even did it from a SGS to a SGSII with no problems.
So you should theoretically be good to go.
But PLEASE make a NANDROID backup, so that anything goes wrong, you can start all over
"Clean" installs: no.
You may or may not have problems...and I've never done it.
But I'd assume it'd work 90% of the time.
Are there any issues I might run into if I restore the apps I backed up from my HTC EVO onto my S3?

I would do only apps.. One at a time... And be cautious on data for some apps...Especially older system apps. But generally you should be fine. I moved from og epic with only a couple minor things that an uninstall fixed.

I WOULD HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU DONT DO THIS... Maybe it was just a fluke with my phone, but after doing this my phone wouldnt charge... kept saying charging paused battery temp. too high/low....wouldnt even charge when powered off and i had to get a new phone.
This occured after installing apps one by one and only restoring data for 2 games. i didnt install any system apps from my old phone.
if you decide to do it tho i'd like to know if you encounter the same issues that i had.

Yea, I was only planning on restoring user apps without data. No system apps.

That's strange. I've got a bunch of apps so it'll be a pain in the ass to install them one by one but I don't want any problems.
Mass restoring user apps with data has never been an issue for me. I've done it between all my devices...but of course if you do run into issues, you have to go back and see which app is causing any instability. Chances are you'll be fine

Yeah, I didn't think it would be a problem either.... that's why I did it. this was the only thing I did to my phone besides rooting and I had to buy a new phone . Didn't flash any ROMs or mods...very strange. Maybe I just had a defected phone

Hello I would appreciate a hand.. I'm trying to restore a few games mainly Dead Trigger from my Epic 4G to my new Epic Touch before I sell it. I suspect the games aren't restoring right with Titanium or MyBackupPro because the External SD is configured different in the Epic Touch. Is there any way to get the game to restore with my saved progress? I tried using ES File to move over the downloaded content but everytime I restore I either get force closes or it starts at the beginning.
Dead trigger had cloud storage now. Click on new hope and login, register, etc then select backup. If your epic is deactivated you can still do so using a wifi connection.
When restoring apps or games or anything don't restore the app. ONLY DATA.
If you already knew this then yeah idk :/
