Hello I would appreciate a hand.. I'm trying to restore a few games mainly Dead Trigger from my Epic 4G to my new Epic Touch before I sell it. I suspect the games aren't restoring right with Titanium or MyBackupPro because the External SD is configured different in the Epic Touch. Is there any way to get the game to restore with my saved progress? I tried using ES File to move over the downloaded content but everytime I restore I either get force closes or it starts at the beginning.
Dead trigger had cloud storage now. Click on new hope and login, register, etc then select backup. If your epic is deactivated you can still do so using a wifi connection.
When restoring apps or games or anything don't restore the app. ONLY DATA.
If you already knew this then yeah idk :/

Hey all.
So i flashed the new MIUI last night and have been playing with it.
I did my standard procedure for when i flash a new rom. Backup all apps and data with titanium. full wipe. flash. restore through titanium.
The problem is that any game that i have that i have restored data to force closes when i try to start it up.
If i click on a game with data saved, such as angry birds or fruit ninja, it force closes before even starting up.
if i uninstall and reinstall fresh from the market, it runs fine. BUT, i obviously don't want to lose all my records for my games. I refuse to start over in Angry Birds (for obvious reasons).
Anybody experience this or have a fix for it? I'm having fun playing with the rom, by losing all my data for gaming is a bit of a deal breaker for me.

I just checked my games, no problems here.
What ROM were you on before you flashed MIUI? Restoring the games shouldn't cause any problem but restoring system data can cause some instability unless it was MIUI that you came from.

I was coming from CM7 nightlies, so that was probably the issue.
Interesting, since when i went from Myn to CM and back several times, i was able to transfer all system data through TB with no problems at all.
In any case...
Just like when i flashed MIUI for the first time a few months ago, I was impressed but quickly became bored after about 12 hours.
I know it's totally a person preference thing but i will always be a vanilla kinda guy. So it's back to CM i went.
Thanks for the replies, though.
while many times you may not notice an issue it is not recommended to all restore system data between roms. it often causes unseen effects and can cause battery drain issues or negate tweaks made by the dev.
there are some pieces which are normally safe to restore (ie bluetooth pairings, wifi access points stuff like that)
Try MyBackup. I like it better than Titanium.
as a note you shouldnt restore system settings with mybackup either
I am experiencing exact same problem as OP. Anyone know how to fix? It appears that games are not restored properly coming from CM7 to MIUI. Strange thing is that it only happens with games. Everything else restores fine.

Are the games on the sdcard? I noticed that, for me, apps on the sd card.don't restore properly. I have to manually re install them.
try this:
after installing games from the market and ensuring that they open/work correctly, go into titanium backup and restore Data only for the specific game/app. hello saved games

I figured that had something to do with it. Strangely, only OpenFeint games don't restore properly. All other apps and games on SD restore fine. Looks like I'll just stick with CM7 for now.

Tried that too. Unfortunately restoring the games' data was what caused force closes.

hmm, I dunno then, that always works for me

I can also confirms that this fix doesn't work. I tried it before giving up and going back to CM7.
Why is it that some apps randomly break after a reboot, even certain reboots after moving then to sd using titanium backup?? I reboot, app is there, but couple times later.. It breaks and disappears. Only with this phone, my G2, G2x never had this problem.. Even my girls sidekick works great using titanium and moving to sd.. I have tried link2sd and its worse with that app..

do you have a list of specific apps to help you figure out?
I have 99% of my apps in SD and they work fine
I use Link2SD
but they work fine even with Link2SD, using the stock Froyo App2SD
but that one is a waste of space, so Link2SD is more efficient
if you forcefully move apps from internal to external using TI, apps that were not made to run from SD can break, that is a known issue with all phones
the apps are
Amazon App Store
Cachemate
Capital One
Download All Files
Google Music
RepliGo Reader
Root Explorer
Shazam
Skype
SpeedTest
Tapatalk
Titanium Backup
Tunee Music
But they break randomly at different reboots. And Im sure im using Link2SD correct, im not illiterate .. and I know forcefully moving them can break but even creating links doesnt work for me until i reboot. And like I said, weird that I never had this problem with my other phones..
of your list i'm using the following without breaking
Amazon App Store
Google Music
Root Explorer
Shazam
Skype
SpeedTest
Tapatalk
Titanium Backup PRO/Donate
and pretty much all of them are in the SD except for TI which i keep on internal for JICSH moments
Well, I reformatted the partition but this time with fat32.. Before both tries that I attempted this app, they were extra partition.. Which way are you using..?

here's the long answer short http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1343187
Mine does this and they dont quite dissapear but there is a ghost image in the app drawer. When i click on it it says app not installed. If i unmount and remount sd card itll fix it. I think it has to do with media scanner not finishing loading all the apps.

Sorry if this is a noob question, but is there a way to backup or save how you setup all your app icons and widgets on the stock home screens so you can restore easily after a full wipe?
Thanks in advance!

I wish, this is actually the only reason I am contemplating returning my phone for an iphone if the 4s had 4g I would.
it didn't bother me to much when I could simply run my nandroids and pull my micro sd card out when my phone physically broke but my gNex is less then a week old and it has some sort of hardware malfunction and now I lost all my backups, and data on my media partition.
I had finally got the phone setup, but to answer your question if your not opposed to simply rooting your phone then nandroid backups, which you now need to backup your backup to your a physical pc.
Hey guys. I have all my wifi access points backed up with titanium backup and have restored it numerous times with my evo 3d and then my photon 4g and it always worked. Now with my epic touch i'm restoring it and when I go to the wifi settings, it appears they aren't restoring properly. I'm around one of the spots and it is password protected. Usually upon restoring them all, it will connect automatically but not this time. I've tried restoring it multiple times. Am I doing something wrong?

If your restores wont work, i would suggest trying to connect to it the old fashioned way. Forget the network, connect to it and then type in the password.
I have about 20 wifi passwords saved. Typing them in one by one makes my head hurt just thinking about it. Plus I don't even know the passwords to half of them.

Sometimes they don't show up until you reboot your phone. Otherwise your file may be corrupted, which has happened to me before. You'll just have to back it up again whenever.
I have an Evo 3G roted with a ton of apps. Can I take my Titanuium backup from that phone and restore selective apps and data to my G3.
I have a couple apps that I no longer have the credentials for to re download from the app store without paying for them again.

You should be able to do that. You will need to be rooted on the GS3 in order to restore. I was able to restore some apps from my Evo 4G to the GS3 using Titanium. Not sure if all apps can be restored or not. I would not try to restore any system setting or data. That could be a problem.
If you're rooted, use titanium and it should work. Just restore the apps & app data, and not system data. Also, don't. Restore them as a batch operation, do just 2 or 3 at a time, and test them, then continue.

I can vouch and say that it does work. I moved from the HTC Evo 4G OG and used Titanium Backup to bring all of my old apps and data to my new phone. You will have to have BOTH devices rooted in order to use the backup as well as the SD card or the information.
Yes, I went from an Epic 4G to an S3 using MyBackup Pro. Restored all the app data. As long as you don't try to restore the basic system data you should be fine.
Great, that is what I was hoping for
I also went from an Evo 3D to the SGS3. Just make sure that you don't restore data that was specific for the Evo. For instance, if you have setcpu, don't restore the data because that was specifically for the E3D. Otherwise, you won't have any problems.
