ok, I have heard a lot of good reports on this app, My Backup Root. So, am I just doing something wrong?
I first tried My Backup Root, and it "seemed" to work fine, but I didn't' actually use the phone much afterward as I had just gotten a replacement from Sprint and was only trying it out before switching phones. Then, after I did the switch I discovered that I needed Pro to restore to a different phone. So, I purchased it and restored everything. But, I noticed I was getting a lot of FCs. Thinking it was the ROM ( I also tried the new EG22 ROM by decad3nce at the same time) and so I flashed to the RandomROM EG22, and restored my apps. But, I am getting the same thing, lots of apps just FC on me. I have found though that if I uninstall the app and reinstall it, the app works just fine. So, it seems to be a restore problem.
For the record, I am only doing the apk backup, no data. I have read lots of great reports on this app, so what am I doing wrong?
I used to love my backup pro but lately it has been doing that to me too, lost a lot of game save files because of it. I eventually gave up on it and bought titanium backup pro for aps. I still use mybackup to backup everything else but it fudges apps.

I've been having similar problems. a work around that works for me (most of the time) is restore the app and the data separately.

I'm having issues with general lag with the phone. I have been for some time. I cleared all apps/data/dalvik, flashed CM6.1 and ran a Titanium restore of just installed apps/data, and it's still a problem.
Do you guys have any recommendations of ways to correct this? The phone is just very laggy all around. App load times are slow as hell, and even the browser is slow.

That's your problem right there.
Start over from scratch. install each program manually (titanium backup is not recommended for restoring Data) and see where you start lagging.
both swype and swiftkey seemed to lag my phone. swiftkey has been better after a few updates.
Check out the rom threads.. most devs frown on titanium as it causes more headaches than helps..
Appbrain seems to be the restore mode of choice, but if your trying to track down a problem app.. do it manually.

Interesting. I really hope swype isn't the culprit. I don't know if I can live without it.
Or try out a different AOSP kernel, see if that helps.

Hey all.
So i flashed the new MIUI last night and have been playing with it.
I did my standard procedure for when i flash a new rom. Backup all apps and data with titanium. full wipe. flash. restore through titanium.
The problem is that any game that i have that i have restored data to force closes when i try to start it up.
If i click on a game with data saved, such as angry birds or fruit ninja, it force closes before even starting up.
if i uninstall and reinstall fresh from the market, it runs fine. BUT, i obviously don't want to lose all my records for my games. I refuse to start over in Angry Birds (for obvious reasons).
Anybody experience this or have a fix for it? I'm having fun playing with the rom, by losing all my data for gaming is a bit of a deal breaker for me.

I just checked my games, no problems here.
What ROM were you on before you flashed MIUI? Restoring the games shouldn't cause any problem but restoring system data can cause some instability unless it was MIUI that you came from.

I was coming from CM7 nightlies, so that was probably the issue.
Interesting, since when i went from Myn to CM and back several times, i was able to transfer all system data through TB with no problems at all.
In any case...
Just like when i flashed MIUI for the first time a few months ago, I was impressed but quickly became bored after about 12 hours.
I know it's totally a person preference thing but i will always be a vanilla kinda guy. So it's back to CM i went.
Thanks for the replies, though.
while many times you may not notice an issue it is not recommended to all restore system data between roms. it often causes unseen effects and can cause battery drain issues or negate tweaks made by the dev.
there are some pieces which are normally safe to restore (ie bluetooth pairings, wifi access points stuff like that)
Try MyBackup. I like it better than Titanium.
as a note you shouldnt restore system settings with mybackup either
I am experiencing exact same problem as OP. Anyone know how to fix? It appears that games are not restored properly coming from CM7 to MIUI. Strange thing is that it only happens with games. Everything else restores fine.

Are the games on the sdcard? I noticed that, for me, apps on the sd card.don't restore properly. I have to manually re install them.
try this:
after installing games from the market and ensuring that they open/work correctly, go into titanium backup and restore Data only for the specific game/app. hello saved games

I figured that had something to do with it. Strangely, only OpenFeint games don't restore properly. All other apps and games on SD restore fine. Looks like I'll just stick with CM7 for now.

Tried that too. Unfortunately restoring the games' data was what caused force closes.

hmm, I dunno then, that always works for me

I can also confirms that this fix doesn't work. I tried it before giving up and going back to CM7.
So I'm trying to backup my phone on CM7 and its taking..ugh..at this rate, 3+ hours
any idea's?
I've tried a reboot and reinstall titanium with no luck, I guess the obvious answer may be a reflash of everything but obviously I don't want to do that without running Ti Back haha.
all help appreciated.
I hope you are only using Titanium Backup to backup your data and NOT your system files because if you switch roms and then restore everything, you're asking for trouble. It would be very beneficial if you go into recovery, wipe cache & dalvik and then create a nandroid backup. The default selections *should* suffice. By doing so, if you change roms, themes or a mod of some sort and decide you don't like it, you can always revert back to the way it was before the change by restoring your nandroid. Use TB to keep a backup of your 3rd party apps. If you switch roms, you can use TB to restore your 3rd party apps and their associated data. By the way, unless you have a gazillion apps to backup, TB should not be taking 3+ hours to do what it needs.

oh yeah, not backing up any system files, just all my apps.
still taking forever, completely stumped off my arse.
and yes, im aware of nandroid, but I'm needing Titanium to backup all of my 3rd part apps to make switching roms a heck of alot less hassle
I've never had Ti B take so friggin long, it is going, but amg, slow as an old lady.
I hear ya. I have no idea why it's taking so long, but I can assure you that is not normal. Anyway, sorry for treating you like a noob.

CM7 in and of itself has been problematic for me.
random sluggishness in some apps, menu's, radio/wifi/gps turning on/off at random
Have already tried reflashing everything but maybe its just time to give up, going to check out a nightlie and see if theres some improvement but thats about it.
BWidgets clock keeps gimping out on me too.
guessing same reason Ti B is gimping out.
You just gave yourself very good advice, my friend...lol...

yeah, more grasping at straws, I know 20 diff ways to fix this problem, but none with the perfect outcome.
guess ill just have to wait umpteen hours for backup and pray its not corrupted.
since i posted till now it got to 51% and then it crashed >< gahaha losing it. lol
for future reference problem solved
Corrupted market links.
2 cures not sure if they work separate but I did both so id have no problem
1. goto applications, find market, stop application, clear cache
2. go into Ti Back preferences and uncheck market link backups
Sorry for bringing the thread back from the dead, but i struggle with the same issue on N5 stock MM rooted. So much so that i defaulted to scheduling nightly backups and never did any in person.
I'll try this method out too.
Ok, so in an effort to not waste anymore time searching and reading and getting a tiny bit confused. To all of my rooted Incredible partners who were using 2.2 Froyo before the root, and stuck with HTC Sense after the root. What apps are perfectly fine to get rid of completely and it wont mess up the DInc at all ?
Why stuck with HTC sense? I don't think i understand your question.
As far as removing apps pretty much anything that is not essential and most of the stuff you won't be able to remove.
I just now rooted my DInc but ive had for a few months so I'm just used to Sense. My question was pretty much me just wondering exactly which apps that came with the phone were ok to uninstall with Titanium Backup, like uninstalling them wouldnt mess up my DInc, like cause it to brick, or something to not work properly.
I don't remember stock lol.
Check this out.

I know it says 2.1 but it's a good start.

Did you make a NANDROID backup of your phone? If not do so now. You can do it via rom manager or boot into recovery and create a backup file. So in case you have issues you can restore your phone from an image.
Titanium backup won't be able to bring you back from disaster if your phone won't boot.

Use Titanium Backup and start by freezing the apps first before removing them. If freezing doesn't cause issues, then you can, more than likely, remove the app. I prefer to just freeze them, does basically the same thing.
I would simply freeze them, but TB wont let me. It keeps saying that to be able to freeze, I need to be on the donate version of it, which Im only guessing is the paid version.

It is the paid version. It is worth the $ IMO. Safer than deleting something you need.

I agree with trickster. TB is very much worth the money. When I first got it, I had just rooted - deleted an app and restored it with no problem. Then I tried removing a "stock" app. Gone. Can't reinstall... Freezing it is the way to go. Then again, you might want to consider a nandroid backup before doing anything at all.
I have a backup of all of the stock HTC apps somewhere. I had removed one of the stock apps on accident, so I had just used that and restored the apk... worked fine after that.
I have an Evo 3G roted with a ton of apps. Can I take my Titanuium backup from that phone and restore selective apps and data to my G3.
I have a couple apps that I no longer have the credentials for to re download from the app store without paying for them again.

You should be able to do that. You will need to be rooted on the GS3 in order to restore. I was able to restore some apps from my Evo 4G to the GS3 using Titanium. Not sure if all apps can be restored or not. I would not try to restore any system setting or data. That could be a problem.
If you're rooted, use titanium and it should work. Just restore the apps & app data, and not system data. Also, don't. Restore them as a batch operation, do just 2 or 3 at a time, and test them, then continue.

I can vouch and say that it does work. I moved from the HTC Evo 4G OG and used Titanium Backup to bring all of my old apps and data to my new phone. You will have to have BOTH devices rooted in order to use the backup as well as the SD card or the information.
Yes, I went from an Epic 4G to an S3 using MyBackup Pro. Restored all the app data. As long as you don't try to restore the basic system data you should be fine.
Great, that is what I was hoping for
I also went from an Evo 3D to the SGS3. Just make sure that you don't restore data that was specific for the Evo. For instance, if you have setcpu, don't restore the data because that was specifically for the E3D. Otherwise, you won't have any problems.
