Who to call to get a replacement? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

What number do I call to get a replacement device? I have multiple screen issues such as the top of my screen is blue, I have horrid black spots on black screens, purple tint at low brightness(although color mods greatly reduce this), and I'm pretty sure there's more that I can't remember currently. Is that enough reason to give them?
Also I have a small dent on the back and I'm wondering if they'll still take it or if that will cause any problems.
Thank you.

If phone is under warrenty (sure it is still as its been out less then a year) with HTC and I am sure Samsung too, you have to bring to the carriers corp store so they can look at the issue. If they find no damage due to you or think its truly a warrenty issue, they call Samsung and tell them and you put credit card down and they send you a refurb. If you dont have credit card I think you have to send them yours first..... Well thats the way it works with Verizon and Tmobile with HTC anyway.

I bought it from Google play unlocked with 1 year warranty. I noticed the problems the first week but I went on vacation the 3rd week and procrastinated to get it done. Not its been 3 months lol. Anyway it must be different with the Google play edition.

exchange in store?

Greetings,
I have a quick question for y'all. I bought the tmo s2 by phone from Tmobile a couple days ago. If I had an issue with the phone and wanted to do an exchange, would I be able to exchange in a store? The thing is I have some small issues like slightly visible vertical lines and some speeches on a black screen but I don't want to send this to only get a worse one. I would really want to exchange in a store because I'd want to check if it's actually better.
Thanks for the help.
You have 14 days from the day you bought the phone to return it. You can go to any tmo store but may pay a restocking fee if you dont go back to the same store.

From my understanding if you didn't buy it from the store then you CAN'T return it to a store. That's the problem with buying it online or over the phone.

OK, thanks for the help. My issues are very small, I kinda see the vertical lines on grayish backgrounds, and tiny black splotches on black in a dark room. But I think I'll hold onto this one because i'm afraid I'll get a worse one with more issues.

Picking out the perfect GN

Hey all going to th Verizon store to exchange my GN because of a defective screen. In efforts to not have to exchange again is there any tips or advice in getting/picking out a error defective free GN.

What do you mean? Its not a car lot or something where you can see all of the available ones. If you bring in a phone for exchange, they reach under the counter (or in the back) and take out a random box from the stack of Galaxy Nexus' to replace it with. Their assumption is that the phone they give you as a replacement is in good working order, so you can't just look it over and be like "no I want another one". They won't bring out 10 boxes and let you open them all and choose the one you want.
They give you that one and you deal with it. If it is exposed later on that something is defective and warrants another return, you can return this new one at that point, and you'll go through the process again.
Try and find one with the highest serial number or something on the box?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
The place where I bought mine online (Europe) told me they checked and they all had defects on the screen and I could either live with it or send it back for a refund... nice...
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
the serial number idea was something I was looking for. Comments that just slam my question not needed
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
One other thing you could try is asking the Customer Rep at Verizon or wherever your going to purchase it from, to let you know when the next batch comes in and grab one of them... That way you know your going to get a new-new one? just a thought.

Currently owner of an htc amaze

I'm currently an owner of an htc amaze 4g. Ive seen people exchange from the htc amaze to the Samsung galaxy s2. I just want to know how I could do that? I'm really getting tired of the problem that this phone has. I really want a Samsung galaxy s2. What's the easiest way to do that? Should I just buy a new one? :/.
Thank you for reading this.

lol everyone says that. well the i cant put a case on because it makes the wifi signal weaker, the flash messes up the pictures at night, the faceplate creaks when you put pressure on it(its very loud) and haptic keys on the bottom of the screen bleed through the screen of the phone so you can see it lighter on the bottom of the phone. that's a problem with all of the htc amaze. im just tired of all of those problems. i love htc sense though :/. is there any way to put htc sense on the samsung galaxy s2?

Officially? No. However I bought a sensation on Craigslist and it stopped charging after a month. I think I broke the charging port. I went to t mobile chat and told them. At one point I was asked where I got the phone. I lied and told them from t mobile and they replaced it with the amaze. My old sgs4g I Gabe to my wife who is on her own plan and she started having software issues so she called t mobile up and had that replaced.

If.you.go.through three.or.mote warranty exchanges in 90days or less, you are offered an alternate exchange. A new phone but there is no.guarantee it'll be the sgs2.

Well if it breaks such as physicoal damage no because that goes through insurance. If its anything related to.manufacturers defect such as rebooting or freezing then yes they'll help you out.

That is not ture anymore. I went through 4 HTC Sensations and the current one is having issues, and they will not replace it with a different model. I've tried multiple agents and pleaded at several stores.
Well was it within 90 days or less. Its in their policy. They are probably untrained or overlooking it. I have done this on two occassions. You can always have them transfer you to retention. Or if you complain hard enough you can initiate them to look at their policy. My wife has the mytouch 4g and had some freezing issues last month. She went through two exchagnes in a matter of weeks. The Rep told her at both the store while I was there and one on chat that if she specifically had three or more exchanges for the same device within 90 days an alternate phone would be offered. It is similar to or better. The reps can't choose as it chides the most comparable phone to your current one as well as same price or more. Sometimes they offered another option. It would be worth mentioning the policy next time or speaking to a manager and or retention.

Stay away from Craigslist, lots of insurance scams, water damage, etc. Just take the Amaze back to T-Mobile and ask what they can do for you.

For clarification tmobile use to do that they dont always anymore speaking with retention will do nothing in terms of that we cant force it to happen neither can a manager either your given the option or not. I believe they made changes to prevent people fraudelantly doing this just because they know the policy. Best thing you can do is sell your phone and just buy a galaxy s 2 used, just find a reputable seller.

That's lame. So they'd rather have an unhappy customer that's gone through many refurbished versus, than just shipping out a newer. Phone? I can see how warranty stuff can be abused.

People sell their phones on Craigslist and then report it lost/stolen and file an insurance claim with T-Mobile/Assurion. They get shipped a replacement phone and your phone gets blacklisted which means it wont work on T-mobile.

Sending phone back to samsung under manfacturers warranty

If i get a replacement from samsung, roughly how long would it be before i recieved the phone back?
For anyone who has any sort of experience with this, your feedback would be greatly appreciated

Thru the warranty they send you the phone overnighrt. Usually you'll get it by the next day or the day after. Then after you receive it you send your defective phone via the same box the new one arrived.

Why would you send the phone to Samsung, when you can have it replaced much quicker through T-mobile? It doesn't matter where you bought it as long as you're a T-mobile customer.

You can only get a replacement through T-mobile if you have their insurance plan, otherwise you have to go through the manufacturer. You're **** out of luck if you don't have a receipt though. They don't care about the manufacture date on the phone, only the receipt.

Repairing question..

Hey guys & girls, I'm gonna make it quick:
I need to send my Gnex in.. It has some screen problems, which aren't major.. But annoying in time...
My question is, since the Gnex is taken down from the store, how long will Google/Samsung repair it?
I'm curios, because when I'll wait, I'm scared if my carrier (where I send it from) will say they don't repair the phone cause it's too old... Or is there no "too old device" .. Maybe some people with older devices have some experience..
Thank you in advance.

Well in many European countries (germany included apparently) you are ensured a 2 year warranty by law, which they would have to obey if they sold the product in that country, insurance or not.
So if it's within this time, the carrier, who is the seller in this case would be obligated to either repair it, give you a new product and if the product is out of production, they would have to give you something similar or better.(the time in which the product is produced and sold can not limit this)
