Hello, About a week ago I flash CM9 on to my Incredible 2 and I was wondering if I should flash a new radio firmware or if there is even one that works with Android 4.0.4 (ICS)? I've looked around and haven't had much luck so any input would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Mwebb049
P.S. What are the Network speeds you guys are getting?
I really haven't noticed much of a difference with the new radio 3g, but better wifi for sure.

Hello,
I recently flashed patient zero with the 4.04 system and radios.. ever since then I get signal loss and have to restart my phone as well as when I turn on LTE and there's no 4G signal it won't switch back to 4G.. I posted this question on Droidhive but haven't received a response. Wondering if anyone else is seeing this issue with 4.04. Thanks!

Have you just tried to return to stock? Or at least re-flashing the ROM?
Your on patient zero man... its way less stable than crossbreed . Hence why Droid theory said its for crack flashers who don't mind a few bugs because it has more features.
I'm also on Patient Zero; same thing happens to me. Its a deal with and wait till next build or swap roms
Did you flash the "get ready.zip"? It has the 4.04 radio and baseband . Once I did that I got way less drop outs.

Yeah I flashed the get ready package before flashing the rom..

I am sorry if this has already been answered but I have searched and have not been able to answer my question. I am trying to update my girlfriends htc EVO with a stable cricket rom with decent battery life. The one she has now kills her battery in about 5 hours. The phone is rooted, and currently has a cricket rom installed. Thanks for any help.

Come on guys, nobody has suggestion for a rom. Or does anyone know where I can go and see if somebody else knows. Thanks again.

Cricket rom?
Yes, I need to find a cricket rom to use with the EVO. There have been some before I need to find a new one with decent battery life

You'd be better off finding a cricket rom then flashing a different kernel, experimenting with some build.prop tweaks, underclocking or undervolting with vipermod.
Yeah, if I knew how to do all that it would be cool but I don't. I think I just need to find another forum that has more experience with cricket stuff. Thanks to everyone though.

If you can flash a Rom, you can make the changes the previous poster suggested. At some point, you will need to go beyond just flashing and actually tweaking. Do yourself the favor and do some reading.

hey if your talking for the HTC EVO 4G, In my experience and opinion this would be myn 2.2 or nitrous rom these both are great roms for Cricket! as far as kernals a htc 17 or 18 or toastmod is fine..my phone is currently running.. nitrous v1.4.7 and im using nitrousv0.3-sbc kernal ..yeah i know SBC blah blah blah but i havent had any issues!
MikG.
I gave up development of my own rom Jiminy tuned for cricket about a year ago and have been using MikG since. It works great.
yeah I've had my evo OG 4 bout 3 months. Flashed it to cricket the day after I got it. I've used all the ICS ROMS and can vouche that they do work even on cricket. "Flashing" a ROM doesnt really effect the carrier settings that are "flashed" to the phone. But do make a nandroid backup and keep a sense ROM that has EPST on your SD card. You will know it has EPST on it if you dial ##3424# . You might need this later if you have to change any settings or bring your phone in to get reflashed or whatever.
I'm using Psychos R' Us CM-10Build4 on my Inc2 and everything works well, my issue is with signal strength. I live out in the country and on the stock sense rom i got 1-3 bars at my house but now that im on cm10 im lucky to get 1. would a radio update help? and if so which radio should i use? thanks!
On some roms the signal bars are not always accurate. You should be going off what your db levels are. The lower the better. Can be found in settings>about phone>status.

CM based roms have always yielded fewer bars for me, but just to let you know I average -85db to -110db most of the time in my house. I am on the .320 radio and have tested a few with no better results. Good luck on your search.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I checked and I'm at -99 plenty of signal for calling/texting/3g

The only way to know for sure is to test different ones out. Just don't flash the same one twice. ( meaning if you already have the .1111 on your phone don't flash over it with another .1111)
I've been getting really frustrated with the service on my LG. Basically what my problem is I work in a warehouse building and I'm constantly switching between 3g and 4g. It's driving me crazy. Now I was wondering if I was to root my phone would there be a way to increase my data speeds? Or just a overall better single?

If you root, unlock, flash the JB radio updates, and flash one of the JB roms it may help. From what I've read people have been getting a better signal after flashing the radio update. I haven't been able to flash the radio update or a JB rom yet, but once I do, I'll have a more reliable opinion on the subject. If you flash the radio update, be sure that you also upgrade to Jelly Bean, the update doesn’t work well with ICS.
Part of the lack of signal problem has to do with Sprint sucking at providing reliable service.
Radio updates?? Will sprint ever release that to everyone? Cuz I'm kinda scared to root. I rooted my htc evo but it seems a lot more difficult these days.

I just flashed the JB radios and stock rooted ROM and I noticed my signals had a dramatic spike in quality. As far as being nervous to root I'd say you're more than capable. Prior to my LGOG I also had the EVO 4G like you. I've rooted both and flashed multiple ROMs. By no means am I a wizard with the gadgets, but I'm fairly tech-savvy. Since you are in these threads I'd bet you and I are pretty similar so if I didn't have much difficulty I am suspecting you won't be very troubled either. Good luck!
Sounds like I need to root this bad boy then. Also thanks for your reply. Could someone post a good link with step by step instructions for rooting. My htc evo I ran that baby into the ground by flashing different Roms. Lol

[GUIDE] 3-13-13- ROOT, UNLOCK- zvb/jb, zv9, zv8, zv7
Hi , I'm currently using Lg g2x
and it seems like this phone is a good option for me right now.
i have a few question for the phone.
1. How are the driver and development support for this phone? ( both from samsung and devs)
my g2x is a pain right now because LG did not release enough drivers and we have no fully working ICS/JB and developments are dying....
2. Are there screen burn in problems?? (This was the major reason why I tried to avoid AMOLED phones)
3. what is your general opinion?
Thank you
This phone and the dev support kicks ass. I had no qualms about keeping this through the S3 cycle, and every time I think I want to upgrade, I'm reminded that this phone does everything I want it to do.

Ex-G2X user here. By all means, go for it if you have a bargain! This is a sweet phone, so stable compare to the G2X.

Dev support is killer!! You'd be crazy to not switch to an S2 or S3.
Im an ex g2x user also and I'd totally make the switch if i were u also

How are the burn-in problems?? Is it a major issue?? That's the only factor that's keeping me away from buying the phone

Oh I was reading development thread and I saw that some ROMS need to flash radio? and I read about people flashing radio file. (ULV..etc)
What is it? is it necessary? are there ROMS requiring specific radios? Thanks!

I'm in Canada as well(however with Wind Mobile) and so far the stock koodo or Telus radio suits the best(most reliable, no data drops, etc). You may try different radios from the thread below to see if any of those works better for you with your provider. The stock koodo is there too if you wanna go back to that.
Radios in general affect the mobile signal, data connection and wifi signal. On a side note, the Telus Jellybean release is just around the corner for our device (April), we will see how is the bundled radio performs once it drops.

Flashing a custom rom(unless stated otherwise by the rom developer) won't touch your radio. So in theory your signal and other radio characteristics will remain the same. However based on the feedback in the radio thread some radio performs better for some user depending on their location(most of them are US based Tmobile customer). So it's about trial and error, try them and see if you have better results with different ones (signal, ping, download/upload, voice quality, battery life).
For Wind mobile here in my location (Ottawa) the koodo radio is the champ.
