I've have rooted my phone and flashed with a different ROM for a few time..
But now i flash it to custom ROM already..
Is my warranty still available>???
of course yes.. you have lost your warranty because of rooting..
trick if your phone was dead: if you still can enter download mode, flash an official stock ROM and you will get your warranty back..

Done.. Status is unroot now,,
Means my warranty has back now???
it depends.. warranty just used when your phone: not rooted, is using stock recovery, and of course using stock ROM.. warranty just used if your phone bricked or somewhat else right? you don't need to worry..

Hello all,
Wanna ask about the flash counter as I want to claim warranty for my N7100.
I flashed my N7100 to old stock rom with Odin since I thought that firmware update cause some problem on my phone.
But revert back to old stock rom ain't fix the problem and I think I need to bring the device back to the retailer.
So my question is, when I flashed my N7100 back to old stock rom, does the flash counter activated?
Can I claim warranty as I already flashed my N7100 once with old official stock rom?
TQ.

The flashcounter is only activated if you flash custom software with PC Odin. Go in downloadmode and check the status. If the counter is raised, root your phone again, reset the counter with Triangle Away, flash the stock firmware with Odin and do a factory reset after that. Now the status should say normal and the binary counter should say 0.
Tq sir!
Already do that.
And a good news is I get a 1 to 1 exchange since the problem is from hardware faulty.
Thx for the reply.

Hello everybody.
As stated in many threads.. "THIS ROOM WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY".
I am currently on leaked 4.3, root, recovery installed. Flash counter is on 0, and everything is ok.
If I want to change rom I'm pretty sure the counter will go to 1. Can I get back to stock via Odin and then using TriangleAway and similar, without losing warranty? By resetting binaries and so on?
I mean, in this firmware version the bootloader and Knox should be ok. Am I right?
Thank you for your help

Thank you for your reply.
If you flash counter is normal, nothing much to worried about status, as this can be corrected with flashing stock ROM/Wiping.

Basically MI6 rom has not Knox related problems, so I should be able to flash and go back if I chose a MI6 based rom, with the same bootloader.
Am I right?
No firmware has been released for note 2 that has a KNOX enabled bootloader uptil XXUEMJ2.
The XXUEMI6 firmware does contain KNOX app but that can be disabled easily. So don't worry about the warranty(in case of MI6)and flash happily.

When you updated from 4.2.2 to 4.3, Samsung made it so you cannot go back to 4.2.2 anymore. 4.3 brings the addition of KNOX. KNOX pretty much tells the carrier or manufacturer if the phone has been rooted and warranty has been voided. 4.2.2 doesn't have KNOX and Samsung made it to where you couldn't downgrade. You can only restore back to 4.3.

Yes, it means warranty is void. There are developers that are trying to see if they can revert this back to 0x0 and get warranty back.

Hi I have rooted my phone two days ago and im new to the rooting world of android there is soooo much stuff to learn !!!
I want to know what does it mean when im in odin mode and I see
qualcomm secureboot enable.... and bootloader rp swrev :1 what does it means actually ? I try to find information but it's not clear i dont want to install a custom rom and brick my phone ...
i have so many question ...
if I install a custom rom does my boot loader have to be unlock or i shouldn't care ?
I do i check if my bootloader is unlock ?
Is the carrier is important when you put a custom rom ?
where I can find the gapps file made for my phone ?
1 rom that interest me is wicked sensation rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2286350 it look so sick but once again it says for at&t can I install it if im with rogers because they are the same model ?
it's some little tecnical question that I have can some one help me
Are you on stock Rogers 4.3? If you are, loading a custom recovery will void the warranty by tripping the Knox counter.
If you have no warranty and just want to install a custom ROM, you can install a custom recovery via Odin and flash the ROM you want.

I prefer Philz Touch which is based on CWM because I had problems flashing with TWRP.
There should be no problem as long as the ROM is supported by TWRP.

You shouldn't just go around flashing all the ROMs you think look or sound cool. I would suggest doing your research beforehand. For example, if you want to install the newer KitKat ROMs, you HAVE to be on a JellyBean bootloader. Click HERE for the bootloader guide if you need it.
Also, your TWRP should always be up to date. The link for the latest (may be outdated, idk...)TWRP is HERE
Lastly, if you ever run into any problems and want to go back to stock, or you just want to start fresh and start from scratch, then use this. This has never failed on me. Click HERE
Remember, YMMV.
Best of luck!
I don't think you need a 4.3 bootloader for all ROMs. I have loaded Cyanfox, CM11, and Vidalus which are all 4.4.2 ROMs without issue. I personally prefer to stay away from the 4.3 bootloader because I want the ability to return my phone to stock for warranty purposes.
The OP is running 4.3 stock and the link you provided could brick his phone.

I never said that the OP needed to update his bootloader, I was just mentioning as an example if he wanted to then he would probably need to if he wanted to flash a KitKat ROM.
But you are right, for him, I would stay away from 4.3 since you can't downgrade.
roooting will void phones warranty.
But on some samsung phones (galaxy y) warranty can get back by (unroot) flashing stock rom and kernel by odin.
In case of s4 mini, i think it difficult to get back warranty because of knox counter
I really want to root my GT-i9192 because of rooting benefits
But because of warranty issue m scaring as i brought it last week.
If someone have solution to restore warranty status of GT-i9192 plz tell me
many many thanx in advanc

If Knox is active in Download mode u can`t "restore" it to 0x0 ( Warranty OK ) it will remain on 0x1 ( Warranty void )
If u dont have Knox word there, if u flash a stock rom, your status will be Official and no problems with warranty

So again.
Boot your phone in "Download mode"
If u see word "Knox" there u are "out of luck" u will loose warranty if u fiddle with roms/kernels etc. And u CAN NOT restore warranty
If u DO NOT see word Knox u are lucky, do not update your firmware, root it and have fun
Tell me what version of firmware u have
ya i have knox word
if i just root my device and don't change rom and kernel, and In future some hardware fault may occur in my device and i restore official firmware that i have download from sammobile to my phone via odin then my phone will be on warranty or not?
plz clarify

If u full unroot it from Supersu app or if u flash SAME version of firmware that u have on phone now ( not older ) yes at warranty service they won`t notice.
Do not flash any custom kernel or that flag in download mode will become 0x1. That flag u CAN NOT reset. U want to keep it 0x0

Just rooting via Saferoot or similar methods will NOT trip knox = warranty intact.
Flash anything with odin WILL trip knox = warranty void.
Using custom ROM and Kernel WILL trip knox = warranty void.
So if your phone has problem, you have to remove root manually, which is explained at Saferoot post, any many thread, search for it.
If you phone does not boot, you can only send it back to Samsung.
you are using the same firmware as me of the same region , now here is the thing about knox which is baffling me , i have read a lot on this according to tons of ppl everywhere if you flash this rom with any custom kernel, root it, your knox warranty is void i.e 0x1 and there is no way to revert that and for reasons unknown i have flashed my kernel 3 times with custom kernels , rooted it of course and even flashed the stock rom via odin to correct some mess up and knox status is still 0x0 only my binary status is custom which is to be expected but knox is still 0x0 that i don't understand and the op's firmware , baseband, is exactly the same as mine !!!
@op knox is just software warranty and plz don't try anything on the my post i am still trying to figure why it still 0x0 but as SilviuMik pointed out if flash anything custom is would void knox warranty .
I have downloaded same firmware I9192DDU1BLM1 just for back up
now I want to know that if I follow root procedure of acro68, will it change my knox counter to 0x1 ?
Sorry if m irritating but m scaring because recently I have bricked an android just recently and now I cannot made same mistake again

If u use that method u will trigger Knox arco68`s method implies u change kernel / recovery . That will trigger Knox
Try saferoot ( not sure if it will work ) or Kingoroot
Ok thnx I will try another safe method that doesn't ise download mode or odin
M thinking about to use unlockroot , saferoot , aio flasher tool and tell you about the result
