I screwed up my phone :( - HTC Wildfire S

So i was installing a new ROM (AOKP build 38). I had put the ROM and the GApps zip on the sdacard, and accidentally formatted the sdcard from the CWM recovery. I want to go back to the stock HTC ROM for Asia, India. Any way to do this? My backup was lost because it was in the sdcard :-(

Check the link in my signature. Try to install the ruu first.

[TUTORIAL][NOOBPROOF] Return to Stock Rom after flashing CustomRom
My Wildfire S got struck on boot few days back, when I installed a font app. Then I tried to recover by all the ways which went on vein, finally which got back the phone is here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21891784&postcount=1
After then I switched to a Custom Built Stock ROM, (Just same as HTC Sense ROM). Now my phone has plenty of features than the original as :
1). I Installed many apps (about 35) without affecting the memory, since Link2sd is installed. (Having 100 MB Free Memory always)
2). Overclocked CPU to 806 MHz.
3). More options on the Quick Menu. (Drop down)
4). Screen capture by <Power> + Home,... etc....
Here is the Stock ROM I have installed :
http://androidforums.com/wildfire-s...ockernel-stable-apps2sd-premium-features.html
Just go thru this and might solve your problem.
If this helped press 'Thanks'.

The way i did it:
Downloaded Minimal Matte by webstar 1 directly to my phone
booted clockworkmod recovery and chose install zip not apply update.zip
then navigated to download/minimal matte
once its installed rebooted and voila, its worked.
im using a JH1 with root access.
make a nandroid backup before applying.
ive flashed this 5 times now and have had no problems
Just in case, THIS IS FOR ANDROID 2.1 not 2.2
EDIT: I forgot you also need a deodexed rom, here are some to flash:
Doc's RomMod

Yup, ur free to post themed free apps (unless the developer has issues with it). But paid is always a No.
Btw:
INSTALL PROCEDURE:
just flash it with clockwork mod recovery or rename to update.zip and flash in backup mode (vol up+home+power when phone is turned off)

Black screen when rebooting. Forced to reflash in JM1new through ODIN.
What I do:
Downloaded Minimal-Matte-By_Webstar1.zip
Renamed it update.zip
Placed at the root of the SD
Launched clockwork mod from Rom manager
Apply update.zip
Reboot
Black screen! -> Reflash in JM1new + backup
What I do was the right approach? This is the first time I try to install a theme.

I know what might of happened, I have removed the bootscreen of samsung galaxy s where the S is made by tiny dots fusing. Basically if you flash this, I think it might wipe the boot screen as well so after flashing this, let the phone work for 10 minuets and the phone should definatley launch. You can get the bootscreen back by installing ryanz one click lag fix and the app had an option to restore bootscreen. Do that then uninstall app.
Try again but give phone time to work

4. apply root
5. install clockwork recovery

my guess is that it needs a jh1 rom

htc desire rooted but problematic

ok guys i need some help on this one.
i am new to the whole htc desire. i have a galaxy tab and galaxy s. none of which are this difficult.
my issue is with this security (which i assume is the problem)
i installed UNrevoked yesterday on my new htc desire and it worked fine.
then i installed titanium backup but it had a problem so i hit the "problem" button ot TB and that now works.
when i try to use any other program that needs to do any modifications to the system the desire reboots for example if i use busybox installer it would start and it would gain superuser permission but it would reboot later on
if i try to use the program adfree the minute it updates the hosts file (does its work) the desire reboots.
i assume (and i am new to this desire stuff) it maybe a security issue?
please help!
Don't think so, either do a factory rest or flash a custom rom.

I'm not 100% sure on your problem but try this.
Download Clockwork Recovery from the market (root only) and then scroll to the bottom of the menu there and select 'Fix Permissions'.
I did this with mine and never had same problem as you.
problem resolved.
used alpharev.
thanks!

[Q] How to flash the ROM?

Hi is there somewhere a guide how to flash the ROMs and any list of available ROMs?
Can you advice, recommend some particular ROM?
Hi first of all you have created 2 new threads when you could of created one and asked both questions.
Im assuming that you are rooted looking at your other thread. You need to make sure you have clockworkmod recovery installed, if you haven't the easiest way to do get it is to download ROM manager from the market. Load the app and at the top it will say flash clockworkmod recovery. click on this and this will install CWM recovery for you.
ROM manager is a great tool that les you down load and install ROM's from within the app.
The ROM's available in ROM manager are as follows I'm not going to go in to to much detail, I recommend you have a good read through the dev section about the different ROM's that are available.
CyanogenMod: Is the one of the most popular ROM's available, it is pretty much stock with a few awesome tweaks.
Virtuous: A custom Sense based ROM
MIUI: a really unique ROM that looks more like the iPhone UI, some people love it offers a lot of eye candy and some cool built in features.
There are lots of other ROM's available in the DEV section.
You can download the above ROM's directly from ROM manager and install them really easily just by following the pop ups. Or you can download ROM's from the the DEV forum and place on to your sdcard. Here is a step by step guide.
1, Download your chosen ROM to your sdcard.
2, Reboot in to recovery, select this option from within ROM manager.
3, You will now be in CWM recovery, select back up and restore then backup, this is really important and you should do this before flashing anything. it will enable you to restore you phone to a previous problem free state if you ever mess anything up.
4, Select wipe data, you should do this whenever flashing different types of rom, for example if you are running MIUI and want to switch to virtuous you need to wipe data.
5, Wipe cache, all ways do this regardless of what you are flashing.
6, Head to advance, and wipe dalvik cache.
7, Now time to flash your ROM,
8, Select install zip from sdcard.
9, choose zip from sdcard
10, Navigate to your ROM and select it for flashing.
11, Once complete reboot your phone and you should be running a custom ROM.
It will be worth investing in an app such as titanium backup, this will allow you to back up all your apps and settings, when you install a ROM for the first time and you have to wipe data you will lose everything you have installed and all you settings, Titanium Backup will allow you to restore your apps and setting once you installed a new ROM.
If you want a recommendation for a ROM my personal preference is CM7.
With regards to your other thread, don't worry to much about not having a back up there are guides available for unrooting and going back to stock if you ever need to, not that you will want to after trying custom ROM's
Hope this helps, good luck
Thanks a lot for your reply ,this is exactly what I was looking for now a little calm down

Superuser still the same problem. However maybe I forget to mention it but I've already installed it. It was installed automatically during I was rooting my phone using adb command. Now I just wanted to update it and the problem appears as I described in one of the previous posts herein.
Maybe it is not necessary to update it but I am curious why this problem occurs.

You have helped already sufficiently a lot.
Now I ma trying to flash the ROM and as the first one I've chosen CM7
Before I'll do it pls confirm if I'm thinking the right way.
First I'll do backup all my apps (also titanium, Superuser and Rom manager need it? I suppose Yes, or somehow they backup automatically?) Maybe better question is what should be backuped, I am asking because on the list in titanium there are also apps like clock which are delivered with the software. You know after flashing a new Rom and restoring all aps I'd like to avoid overwriting them by the backuped ones.
The second is after apps backup I need to move created file from my phone into my PC,right? The same after system backup by clockworkmod recovery?

With titanium you just want to back up user apps and data (apps you have downloaded and installed). You can choose to back up system apps but you don't want to restore them after flashing the new rom.
You don't need to copy back up files to your pc, your memory card will not get wiped during the flashing process.

[Q] Can't flash Black Clock Widget for Sense 3.0?

I just flashed LeeDrOiD HD V3.3.3-Port-R5. And also did the Sense 3.0 pack V4 A2SD++.

You cant install the clock cause leedroid is not a sense 3.0 rom, its a 2.1 sense rom, i recomme.d you use the aurora v03 or acesv3 rom, cause they are alot smoother and real sense 3.0 roms.

Hi,
Thanks for the response!
I did post the question in the Q/A forum of the Desire
1) I flashed LeeDroid-HD-Port-RTL-3.3.1-A2SD and Sense3.0_Kingdom_Lockscreen_MMS_Weather-V4-Bravo-A2SD
2)No errors on Boot.
3)It's perfectly usable, but some things are laggy like the fly in menu with the options to shut down/hibernate and the notifications bar that's slow/laggy and also the weather feat thats not displaying the weather.
4)Sd-ext is ext3
5)memory states that there is a total of 405MB (which is weird cus I made an partition of 1GB for this ROM?...) with 76.33MB free. The only thing that is 1GB is A2SD-storage...
6)Systemstorage is 250MB with 16.72MB free. and System-cache 202MB with 202MB free.
7)Is there an other way to see those folders? cuz Root explorer isn't free...(not to be a cheap-ass but its a waste of money for a one time use...)

Ok, let's see...
It looks as there is a problem with the sense3 pack. The missing file is flashed with this pack. Your free memory seems to be ok (405 mb is RAM btw)
Where do you get the missing file message?
You don't have to by root explorer, try file expert, its free...
I would try to flash the sense3 pack again, followed by a reboot. Then flash my black clock mod (link in my Sig) again.
The power menu is known as a little laggy. The weather thing could be cured, if you delete data+cache of the weather app in settings, manage applications... See the FAQ-thread for more informations (link in my Sig)

I have checked the system/sd with File expert but it shows an empty folder.
I tried copying the HtcClockWidget.apk file from the blackClock to the Sense3.0 addon. but it gives a "Wrong digest: sd-ext/app_s/HtcClockWidget.apk" error...
I also tried flashing the Dark+ Autobrightness patch but that one gave me a missing file: system/build.prop error...
file expert DOES show a build.prop file in the system folder...
Damn, This get weirder and weirder.....
Thanks for your patience!
I flashed a new recovery, came from RA_Desire 2.0.0 and now have recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.3.110952.
This did the trick, flashing without problem.
Some problems still exist. the weather feat still doesn't display the weather...
And the clock only displays one 'black' segment...
I also got a error when trying to backup (error after the backup started to backup sd-ext).

Ok, its basically possible that the recovery cause some of this problems.
The other things you described, let me think, that your SD-ext partition is faulty...
I recommend to do a full wipe reinstall. Delete all partitions on SD and build them new, use gparted...

Would partitioning be possible with the build in partitioner in my recovery?
If not, I'll just use gparted.

It's not possible with the recovery. I recommend to use gparted. Using a SD-card reader is usually the best way.
1. Make a backup of the files on fat32 partition to your pc.
2. Boot your pc into gparted
3. Delete all partitions on the SD-card (click apply!)
4. Create the new partitions, click apply again
5. Copy the fat32-content back to your SD-card
6. Make sure, the ROM.zip is on SD-card too (make sure, its a valid copy - check md5)
7. Recovery - Full wipe - Flash the Rom.
8. And so on...

Did all this, now the clock has some full black segments and some white. When reflashing the original the weather feat again doesn't work..
I also flashed the Notification Pulldown Window MOD, which works perfectly
Thanks

What are the specifications from your phone if I may ask?

Re-Install Gingerbread 2.3.3 for HTC Desire

Hi,
I have a rooted HTC Desire and S-Off, presently running on Runnymede AIO. Its a beautiful rom and i have created my partition for extra storage. I realised after installing the rom that the camera does not function properly.
I wanted to reinstall original HTC Desire Gingerbread 2.3.3 which was previously installed ensuring that my device remains rooted and s-off and my partition is also maintained to avoid any internal storage issue.
Can anyone help me with the same.
Zakir
Here is something I made, it's made from official GB RUU and has a few changes (added a2sd, init.d support... You'll see there). You also have rom there that's just rooted and nothing else changed.

If you don't like it go here:

There's a plenty of choices.

You'll have to figure out yourself how to actually flash this, but anyway this link should be useful to access the stock images:

Ok im guessing you have clockworkmod. I would recommend flashing a rom. Find one here, and download it to your sd card. Boot into recovery choose wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, advanced>wipe dalvik, install zip from sdcard, find the rom you downloaded and then flash it.
Yp i have clockworkmod cant i download this one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523325
Or do i have to install a custom rom then do this?

Yes that should work fine. You dont need to install a custom rom first...that is a custom rom.
Make sure you meet the requirements in the op. You may need an ext partition: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2125513
Which one shall i get the odexed one or deodexed and do i have to partition cos i dont want to so shall i go fo the odexed one without extra apps?

I personally wouldnt even install that rom. Its pretty old and unsupported. I would recommend this rom. It will be faster, and have better battery than the stock sense rom. Why not create a partition? It will allow you to overcome the low space of the desire and install lots of apps. And it honestly isnt that hard as shown in this guide. If you need more clarification feel free to ask me.
If you really want that stock rom, then go with the deodexed version.
Ok i think i will try that rom and is it on gingerbread.

Theres no need to install link2sd as there is an a2sd script built into the rom.
As for a launcher you can just go to the play store and download a new one, or if you really want xperia home you can get it here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/j7bsvuavhzy1s9f/Launcher2.apk
You need to download it and put it into system/app using a root file explorer, then reboot.

Yea you probably borked everything with the install of link2sd. You should do a full wipe and reflash the rom. After reinstalling the rom dont install link2sd or anything like that. A2sd is activated by default so as long as you created the partition properly it should work fine automatically.
