[Q] Can't flash Black Clock Widget for Sense 3.0? - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just flashed LeeDrOiD HD V3.3.3-Port-R5. And also did the Sense 3.0 pack V4 A2SD++.
No I'm having a few 'problems' the notification bar is pretty laggy and the weather feat isn't working properly. No big issues but I wanted to get them out of the way so I tried to flash the Black Clock Widget for Sense 3.0 but that gave me following error:
E:Missing file:
sd-ext/app_s/IdleScreen_Weather.apk
It looks like sd-ext is empty and system/sd also... (using ASTRO File Manager)
ROM=LeeDrOiD HD V3.3.3-Port-R5
Add-on=Sense 3.0 pack V4 A2SD++
Hboot=6.93.1002
Thanks!

You cant install the clock cause leedroid is not a sense 3.0 rom, its a 2.1 sense rom, i recomme.d you use the aurora v03 or acesv3 rom, cause they are alot smoother and real sense 3.0 roms.

Yea, but its still no officiall sense 3.0 , its only a mod for the 2.1 sense. Go to software info and it will say sense 2.1 .

Hi,
Thanks for the response!
I did post the question in the Q/A forum of the Desire
1) I flashed LeeDroid-HD-Port-RTL-3.3.1-A2SD and Sense3.0_Kingdom_Lockscreen_MMS_Weather-V4-Bravo-A2SD
2)No errors on Boot.
3)It's perfectly usable, but some things are laggy like the fly in menu with the options to shut down/hibernate and the notifications bar that's slow/laggy and also the weather feat thats not displaying the weather.
4)Sd-ext is ext3
5)memory states that there is a total of 405MB (which is weird cus I made an partition of 1GB for this ROM?...) with 76.33MB free. The only thing that is 1GB is A2SD-storage...
6)Systemstorage is 250MB with 16.72MB free. and System-cache 202MB with 202MB free.
7)Is there an other way to see those folders? cuz Root explorer isn't free...(not to be a cheap-ass but its a waste of money for a one time use...)
Thanks for your help!!

Ok, let's see...
It looks as there is a problem with the sense3 pack. The missing file is flashed with this pack. Your free memory seems to be ok (405 mb is RAM btw)
Where do you get the missing file message?
You don't have to by root explorer, try file expert, its free...
I would try to flash the sense3 pack again, followed by a reboot. Then flash my black clock mod (link in my Sig) again.
The power menu is known as a little laggy. The weather thing could be cured, if you delete data+cache of the weather app in settings, manage applications... See the FAQ-thread for more informations (link in my Sig)

Hmm, you can try to Mount SD-ext before flash the mod... No other idea...
If that doesn't work, open my mod-zip, copy the apk from there to the same folder in sense3 pack. (Use 7zip to open the zip's, paste the file , don't extract) flash again ...

I have checked the system/sd with File expert but it shows an empty folder.
I tried copying the HtcClockWidget.apk file from the blackClock to the Sense3.0 addon. but it gives a "Wrong digest: sd-ext/app_s/HtcClockWidget.apk" error...
I also tried flashing the Dark+ Autobrightness patch but that one gave me a missing file: system/build.prop error...
file expert DOES show a build.prop file in the system folder...
Damn, This get weirder and weirder.....
Thanks for your patience!

I flashed a new recovery, came from RA_Desire 2.0.0 and now have recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.3.110952.
This did the trick, flashing without problem.
Some problems still exist. the weather feat still doesn't display the weather...
And the clock only displays one 'black' segment...
I also got a error when trying to backup (error after the backup started to backup sd-ext).

Ok, its basically possible that the recovery cause some of this problems.
The other things you described, let me think, that your SD-ext partition is faulty...
I recommend to do a full wipe reinstall. Delete all partitions on SD and build them new, use gparted...

If not, I'll just use gparted.

It's not possible with the recovery. I recommend to use gparted. Using a SD-card reader is usually the best way.
1. Make a backup of the files on fat32 partition to your pc.
2. Boot your pc into gparted
3. Delete all partitions on the SD-card (click apply!)
4. Create the new partitions, click apply again
5. Copy the fat32-content back to your SD-card
6. Make sure, the ROM.zip is on SD-card too (make sure, its a valid copy - check md5)
7. Recovery - Full wipe - Flash the Rom.
8. And so on...

Metamorph wont work unless you s-off
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
i don't think it's possible without s-off, at least that's what i found, i had this error when i had 100mb or so of space free with s-on, but on s-off it installed fine
I have found the source on google of metamorph. And the app is designed to patch files into .jar or .apk. And will try to give you the permission to copy files on system. That is something impossible to be accomplished by an app on desire. I don't think there is a way to use metamorph on desire at this point. I think a s-off
will work but i dont' how if you can do s-off at this time on desire. Maybe same time later.

[Q] Copy a Free app (from market) to PC?

Hi,
I'm in Japan, and the (free) "Softbank Mail!" MMS app is the only one working at the moment. Problem is, they updated the software to 1.6 which was a huge step down from 1.5 . I didn't update, so I'm safe on my OpenDesire Rom.
I want to switch to Oxygen ROM, but I realized I don't have 1.5 version of softbanks Mail App. I am forced to download the new and unimproved 1.6 from the market.
So I want to make a copy of the 1.5 from my OpenDesire build to my PC, flash Oxygen, and install the 1.5 on Oxygen. Do-able? If so, what is the proper procedure for this (if I'm allowed to ask..?)
This app is 100% free, I am not attempting to pirate anything in any way shape or form, break any copywrite agreements, just want to use the (more) reliable version on a different ROM.
Have you tried using Root Explorer or adb and copy the apk from /system/app folder?
Oh, just adb will work? I can try that. I'll have to google root explorer, not sure what that is.
The app name on the market is different than the actual app when its on my phone. So i should just do adb pull mail?

Can you extract it from your opendesire rom zip and put it into the oxygen one before flashing?
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
have you tried backing it up with titanium back up and then installing the new rom, then installing titanium back up again and restoring your back up, in theory that should just keep the 1.5 version
regards

Hi Mike, to be honest I haven't a clue as to how to do this. I would have to zip my OpenDesire in it's current state, extract, install on oxygen zip, resign, install on phone?

Hi vengeance, I purchased My Backup Pro a while back, ended up not using it because I couldn't figure it out (lack of options). I'll check into that one a bit more though.

Ok, if you haven't got the rom zip as a download you can do this..
Download 'Super Manager' from the market.
Using this you can backup the mms.apk that's currently in your opendesire rom.
Once backed up, copy it to your computer.
Download the Oxygen zip to your computer.
Open (don't extract) the oxygen zip and navigate to /system/app - I use 7zip to do this.
Drag the backed up mms.apk into the open oxygen zip so the opendesire one overwrites the oxygen one.
Close the oxygen zip and transfer it to your sdcard.
Install

Ok, used the backup program. Worked like a charm. Thanks!

Sense 2.1 Lock Screen for RCMix 2.0

Hello,
I am using RCMix 2.0 ROM ATM and it is a great rom, however I'd like to have old style lockscreen (new one lags a little sometimes and I find it a little hard to answer calls or disable alarms). Can anyone post it please so I can flash it.
Just check THIS THREAD and read the second post named EXTRAS.

I tried removing the HtcLockscreen.apk as well, i couldnt find it in 'sdext\app_s mount r/w' but found it in '/system/app'. This did not work however, after rebooting the phone the HtcLockscreen.apk was just there again. Did you find another solution or a flashable Sense 2.1 lockscreen?

unfortunetely, still looking I posted the issue a few times at RCMix forum as well but couldn't get help there. Please let me know if you find a solution. I'll post it here if I solve this.
you can do it easily with titanium backup(s-off user only)
backup your current lockscreen and then uninstall it from your system via titanium backup, reboot, done.
If you need the 2.3 lock screen you can install it from titanium backup anytime.

then flash in recovery (dont forget to mound sd-ext and system)

By the way, to answer my own question: I tried Harnec's solution and it works, all the lockscreen widgets seem to be working as well. Great stuff!

I screwed up my phone :(

So i was installing a new ROM (AOKP build 38). I had put the ROM and the GApps zip on the sdacard, and accidentally formatted the sdcard from the CWM recovery. I want to go back to the stock HTC ROM for Asia, India. Any way to do this? My backup was lost because it was in the sdcard :-(

so you mean its a normal error? is alpha 5 is more stable then 7 ?
also when i was on cm7, i made fat16/32 ext partition and used link2sd software to connect to ext, so do i need to format and remake the partition or the apps will work just fine " after restoring with the help of My backup Pro?? (i have made backup of apk and data)
i do have nandroid backup as well, i haven't restored any nandroid so i suppose it will restore the os (cm7) as well?
Another thing, on cm9 i have installed link2sd and linked to ext parttion, when i install new apps, a notification comes along that it can be moved to sd card, but when i press move to sd, it doesnt move and still takes space from internal phone space.
Thanks for your help

Yes. No I dnt think so, im on alpha7.
Ext partition already wiped when you wipe all from CWM. Not sure abt my backup pro, reinstall all apps if it fail
It should be yes.
Dont move to sd but create link.

I don't find any trouble with CM9 Alpha 7(I don't use videos much). It's working fine and a geat speedy ROM.
You really don't need to move the apps to SD Card, Just make links for application, Dalvic-cache and Lib files.
Have you enabled 'Auto Link' option on Link2sd settings? If enabled it won't ask, but will simply link with sd card and install the apps.

Am using WFS Ver 2.3.5 with software ver 2.26.720.3 and sence 2.1.
Can you please let me know how different is WC3 from stock in terms of internal space, performance etc.
As currently WFS is only giving 150 MB of space which is of no use.

Note that Hensemod7 has a problem with sending texts over 160 characters in length. Somewhat of a deal breaker for me...
