Hello,
I am using RCMix 2.0 ROM ATM and it is a great rom, however I'd like to have old style lockscreen (new one lags a little sometimes and I find it a little hard to answer calls or disable alarms). Can anyone post it please so I can flash it.
Just check THIS THREAD and read the second post named EXTRAS.

Using root explorer, navigate to sdext\app_s mount r/w and delete HtcLockscreen.apk reboot and there you have it!

I don't see any file there, did you do that RcMix 2.0 ? At version 2.0 lots of things changed including scripting which I don't understand much

I tried removing the HtcLockscreen.apk as well, i couldnt find it in 'sdext\app_s mount r/w' but found it in '/system/app'. This did not work however, after rebooting the phone the HtcLockscreen.apk was just there again. Did you find another solution or a flashable Sense 2.1 lockscreen?

unfortunetely, still looking I posted the issue a few times at RCMix forum as well but couldn't get help there. Please let me know if you find a solution. I'll post it here if I solve this.
you can do it easily with titanium backup(s-off user only)
backup your current lockscreen and then uninstall it from your system via titanium backup, reboot, done.
If you need the 2.3 lock screen you can install it from titanium backup anytime.

ok, I solved it. if there is anyone interested in solution explanation is below;
Download file Sense_2.1_Lockscreen_A2SD.zip (or CM7 version dependin on ROm version you are using) from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/misc...ments&t=988570
then flash in recovery (dont forget to mound sd-ext and system)
Just noticed in settings, display settings, lock screen, stock android lockscreen.
What does this change ?

That option doesn't work in RcMix S 2.0
By the way, to answer my own question: I tried Harnec's solution and it works, all the lockscreen widgets seem to be working as well. Great stuff!

These things are case sensitive. You are looking for:
/system/app/HtcLockScreen.apk
Right?
What rom are you running? If it is any sense based rom it should be there..

Bumping your own thread is the best way I know of to get people to ignore your question, especially when your bump is less than 30 minutes after your last post. If no one responds in a day or two then a bump is ALMOST acceptable, it's just good forum etiquette. (tip: posting any kind of progress, even if it's failed attempts, is a much better way to bump a thread. That way people at least know you are trying to solve the problem on your own)
Also, have you posted your question in the thread for the rom you are running? That's probably the best place to get relevant answers.
Although I am inclined to believe you are missing something, unless flipz changed the name of the apk for some reason.
Use ADB to "ls" your /system/app directory and post the output here. If you have the Sense style pull-down bar lockscreen then the lockscreen apk has to be there somewhere.
another option is at least in previous fresh roms in the fresh updater is a vanilla lockscreen flashable zip. yuoc an try seeing if it is still tjhere for 3.2 and flashing it to kill it off for you.
If you can't find it buy system app remover from the market. .99 cents and I'm running barebones on cm6 smooth as butter.. I hit 1937 today with stock kernel. Anyways it has two categories. System and user apps. Even shows the icons next to the names of system apks. Don't have to search for them they all are in a list.

Are you rooted? If yes, you can sort this out by deleting the /dbdata/databases/com.fede.launcher folder and /data/data/com.fede.launcher folder. After that, reinstall the 0.8.3 version.
Just make sure you have another launcher like default samsung or go launcher something in handy to navigate when you delete these files.

You need to have Root explorer or some other similar file manager which can grant you read and write access to the /data and /dbdata folders.
did u restart launcherpro after changing the setting? many settings require restart to take effect.

A stock file manager won't help you. You need to have Root explorer or Astro File manager or Linda file manager or some other which gives you access to Root. These folders are located in the root directory.

I just flashed LeeDrOiD HD V3.3.3-Port-R5. And also did the Sense 3.0 pack V4 A2SD++.
No I'm having a few 'problems' the notification bar is pretty laggy and the weather feat isn't working properly. No big issues but I wanted to get them out of the way so I tried to flash the Black Clock Widget for Sense 3.0 but that gave me following error:

It looks like sd-ext is empty and system/sd also... (using ASTRO File Manager)

You cant install the clock cause leedroid is not a sense 3.0 rom, its a 2.1 sense rom, i recomme.d you use the aurora v03 or acesv3 rom, cause they are alot smoother and real sense 3.0 roms.

Hi,
Thanks for the response!
I did post the question in the Q/A forum of the Desire
1) I flashed LeeDroid-HD-Port-RTL-3.3.1-A2SD and Sense3.0_Kingdom_Lockscreen_MMS_Weather-V4-Bravo-A2SD
2)No errors on Boot.
3)It's perfectly usable, but some things are laggy like the fly in menu with the options to shut down/hibernate and the notifications bar that's slow/laggy and also the weather feat thats not displaying the weather.
4)Sd-ext is ext3
5)memory states that there is a total of 405MB (which is weird cus I made an partition of 1GB for this ROM?...) with 76.33MB free. The only thing that is 1GB is A2SD-storage...
6)Systemstorage is 250MB with 16.72MB free. and System-cache 202MB with 202MB free.
7)Is there an other way to see those folders? cuz Root explorer isn't free...(not to be a cheap-ass but its a waste of money for a one time use...)
Thanks for your help!!

Ok, let's see...
It looks as there is a problem with the sense3 pack. The missing file is flashed with this pack. Your free memory seems to be ok (405 mb is RAM btw)
Where do you get the missing file message?
You don't have to by root explorer, try file expert, its free...
I would try to flash the sense3 pack again, followed by a reboot. Then flash my black clock mod (link in my Sig) again.
The power menu is known as a little laggy. The weather thing could be cured, if you delete data+cache of the weather app in settings, manage applications... See the FAQ-thread for more informations (link in my Sig)

I have checked the system/sd with File expert but it shows an empty folder.
I tried copying the HtcClockWidget.apk file from the blackClock to the Sense3.0 addon. but it gives a "Wrong digest: sd-ext/app_s/HtcClockWidget.apk" error...
I also tried flashing the Dark+ Autobrightness patch but that one gave me a missing file: system/build.prop error...
file expert DOES show a build.prop file in the system folder...
Damn, This get weirder and weirder.....
Thanks for your patience!
I flashed a new recovery, came from RA_Desire 2.0.0 and now have recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.3.110952.
This did the trick, flashing without problem.
Some problems still exist. the weather feat still doesn't display the weather...
And the clock only displays one 'black' segment...
I also got a error when trying to backup (error after the backup started to backup sd-ext).

Ok, its basically possible that the recovery cause some of this problems.
The other things you described, let me think, that your SD-ext partition is faulty...
I recommend to do a full wipe reinstall. Delete all partitions on SD and build them new, use gparted...

It's not possible with the recovery. I recommend to use gparted. Using a SD-card reader is usually the best way.
1. Make a backup of the files on fat32 partition to your pc.
2. Boot your pc into gparted
3. Delete all partitions on the SD-card (click apply!)
4. Create the new partitions, click apply again
5. Copy the fat32-content back to your SD-card
6. Make sure, the ROM.zip is on SD-card too (make sure, its a valid copy - check md5)
7. Recovery - Full wipe - Flash the Rom.
8. And so on...

During installation I accidentaly removed HTC´s Messageing app (sms app).
I know there are thirdparty apps on Google Play....but I would prefer to have the original.
So my question is if anyone have the original sms app lying around..and would be kind enough to post it here ?

Yeah I thought of that to...but this seemed like an easier way.
Anyway...thanks for taking the time !
or use a filemanager and find the file in the rom zip you flashed, it's in system/app/ , i think Messages.apk is the right filename. extract it and copy to /system/app and make sure you've got 644 (rw-r-r) permissions on it, which should be available in the properties for Messages.apk once you extract it. then reboot. between flashing the package again or doing this, you're covered.
I´m looking inside the rom zip file...trying to figure out wich one of them is the smsapp.
The idea is to extract it and the insert it in the rom with root explorer !
EDIT: HEHE...rynfrnk...same thought !

exactly what you want to do! it's Message.apk and you'll want to make sure you didn't delete HtcMessageProvider.apk as well.. extract those out and copy to your phone's storage under /system/app and 644 the files so their perms are set and then reboot, you should be golden.
Done..that was easy enough.....thnx again guys !

The AOSP lockscreen is already built in. The HTC lockscreen just automatically overrides it. If you freeze the HTCLockscreen.apk or use a file explorer to rename it to HTCLockscreen.apk.bak then the AOSP one will work on its own. The only downside to this is that you have to unlock your phone to be able to answer a call.

I never freeze it, I always use Root Explorer to rename it. And depending on what ROM you're using you have to rename the .ODEX file for the lockscreen too.

Try rebooting. I used root explorer to add .bak to the file name. Didn't change anything until I rebooted.

I am trying to do this on the latest HTC kitkat rom. Cannot find the apk named HTCLockscreen. Maybe it has been renamed?

Look in /system/priv-app
That's where most core system apps are in KitKat.

Ahh OK.
If it returns, then you're likely on a stock ROM.
Sense Roms are now system write protected.
Meaning you can't modify the stock system files while booted to the OS.
You can flash a script in recovery that can delete them however.
Most custom Roms have the system write protection removed.
You can also use adb while in recovery to delete files.

Okay, gotcha, did some research. Am I correct when I say that when I manage to get S-Off this would work?

Yes, that is correct.
Unfortunately there is no way of gaining S-off yet/currently for the Verizon kitkat update.
