So I was just wondering if there is finally a free way to unlock my R800x bootloader yet? I don't mind paying for the service to be done but my hubby is not very tech savvy and he don't want me to pay some stranger to do it for me! No offense to the one's who does this! I really want to download custom ROMs and get my phone running the way I want and know it can! I would like to try the ICS test ROM just to see how it runs on my device! I used to have a HTC Hero that I rooted and flashed ROMs like crazy! I kinda got addicted to it! Now I am having Flash withdraws! Here's to hoping a free method is available!!!!
Not for the R800x.

Ok thanks! Just checking!

My rooting / rom experience has always been on very simple devices. The Droid X last year and this year I have my INC2 and my Charge. The Charge is really easy but the INC2 just seems to not like me. I really want to give my INC2 some usage but the Charge is performing like a champ and going to a stock INC2 is just outta the question.
The point I'm trying to arrive at is that I want to send my stock INC2 to someone reputable, and have it rooted rommed and RIPPED. Of course I'm willing to kick down a donation for the time and effort.
If there's someone interested, PM me your info and I'll get with you about the details. My INC2 is the stock 2.3.3 version.

Also just pay for a box with the phone in it, shipping to and from there. And whatever you feel is fair and ill do it.
As far as rep goes I have the best dev in the Eris forums as well as ppl over there. And anyone who may choose to vouch for me here

i dont have a rep... but i rooted my dinc2 and ill root your for free..
knipp is obviously very knowledgable i wouldnt hesitate sending him my phone and some moola. but.... i would also highly recomend you to figure it out and do it yourself. ROMs come and go and are updated so fast it will be very benificial for you to figure it out. Rooting, S-off, and recovery with alpharev is nearly 1 touch. from there just pick a rom and go to town. that being said, you could send it to knipp have him open it up for you and install all necessary items and ROM manager for you to swap and update ROMs with.
+1 on doing it learning it yourself. what happens if you have a bad bug or get a bootloop you won't know what to do to recover. revolutionary makes rooting extremely easy

Do it yourself it's free and fun and real easy. I come from a business background with no technical training at all and I did it and have been flashing ROMS all the time, can't decide which one I like best. I like the AOSP roms much more than the sense, part of the reason I rooted was do get rid of sense and use plain vanilla Android or close to it. The Inc2 is the first phone I have rooted and I am 43 years old, 15 year old kids know more about this than I do. So YOU CAN DO IT. Just read and read and read and when you think you have it figured out READ SOME MORE.

Yea, I was going to say there's any number of people here who'd be happy to walk you through the process step by step. As was said, roms are updated all the time, so you'll really want to know how to flash back and forth.
And just FYI, I had a Fascinate before this, and rooting the charge is pretty much the same as that. The Inc is different, but not difficult to root and flash.

There may still be hope.
While 2.3.4 does work it is a bit flawed but if you don't mind being disconnected from Google servers its not a big deal. As for 2.3.3 I enjoyed Cola rom since I like to build my own setup and it is quite striped of clutter. There are a few other nice ones to try as well. Do hope the recent try to port some of the themes and such will work out as it would give us quite a few more options.
Well Guys, The Title Says it All.
I have rooted my droid incredible 2 while running software version 2.3.4
I did not downgrade to 2.3.3, I did it all from 2.3.4

Your video just gives an error and wont play. Will this work with the 6.01.605.05 updated phones?
Ok got it to load but it does not show how you did it. Do you plan on sharing your secret with us?
I may share, my method still wipes your phone, so I just moved everything I needed to SD.
I'll write up a tutorial soon.

well when i rooted my replacement, after i ran revolutionary, and flashed a radio to stop bootlooping. i tried flashing ParanoidAndroid and it got stuck on splash screen so i had to slap a stock PG32.IMG in my bootloader to get anything to run then after that i flashed supersu and i was on 2.3.4 rooted.
I'm waiting guys, I've been offered money for this, I'm no longer realesing it publicly

You sir are a disgrace to the android community. Seriously.... asking for money for a root method? Nobody give this guy your money. He is clearly a troll. I doubt he even has a method for rooting. He will probably take your money and run. Even if he does sell you a working method you would only be contributing to this kind of behaviour.
Optional donations? Absolutely!
A fee? GTFO!

I was thinking the same thing and was going to say something but I figured I was probably just feeding the troll, but I doubt he even has a method either.
No worries guys... I've figure out how to create an exact replica (taste, smell, and feel) of the female anatomy using three pieces of rye bread, a jar of peanut butter, and four safety pins. I'll have the cobstruction tutorial up tomorrow.
But seriously, this guy is full of it. He's probably a 13 year old kid living in his parent's house thinking he's funny.
Troll! Close this **** and ban the douche IMO.

Honestly, downgrading isn't really that hard anyway
Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So, we'll hunt him, because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A Dark Knight.

I'm thinking of selling my Droid Incredible 2 on Craiglist but I need suggestions of a good stable ROM i could sell it with. My phone is unlock with good ESN
You might want to flash back to stock Rom and offer to flash the Rom of their choice

Yeah, most people on craigslist might want a phone with stock ROM and all.
If you want to leave it the way it is now (i assume rooted with non-stock ROM) you might also try selling on swappa, as i know they do sell quite a few phones to developers there.
Thanks
cm7.2
I am going to disagree and say you should put cyanogenmod 7.2 on the phone. Runs very fast and stable, faster then stock.
I was just wondering if there was a working root for the Verizon version yet?

We all would prefer to do it ourselves.
The VZW M9 took a year for App support.
So keep that in mind.
Luckily they are even offering this service or we'd be SOL.
If you create an exploit, please do share.
Now if only there was support for my Moto Z I would be golden!

So if I get this verizon htc 10 and send it out too to them it says on their site they will s-off/unlock/root and flash twrp. Does the "unlock" mean they will unlock the boot loader? If so can I flash other roms besides the ones in just the verizon htc10 forum. There is only one stock deodexed/tweaked Rom so far, well as of last night when I looked and a custom stock kernel. I'm talking about roms like viper, or , vipre not sure of the correct spelling. Will they work on the verizon device?
