My rooting / rom experience has always been on very simple devices. The Droid X last year and this year I have my INC2 and my Charge. The Charge is really easy but the INC2 just seems to not like me. I really want to give my INC2 some usage but the Charge is performing like a champ and going to a stock INC2 is just outta the question.
The point I'm trying to arrive at is that I want to send my stock INC2 to someone reputable, and have it rooted rommed and RIPPED. Of course I'm willing to kick down a donation for the time and effort.
If there's someone interested, PM me your info and I'll get with you about the details. My INC2 is the stock 2.3.3 version.

Also just pay for a box with the phone in it, shipping to and from there. And whatever you feel is fair and ill do it.
As far as rep goes I have the best dev in the Eris forums as well as ppl over there. And anyone who may choose to vouch for me here
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda premium
i dont have a rep... but i rooted my dinc2 and ill root your for free..
knipp is obviously very knowledgable i wouldnt hesitate sending him my phone and some moola. but.... i would also highly recomend you to figure it out and do it yourself. ROMs come and go and are updated so fast it will be very benificial for you to figure it out. Rooting, S-off, and recovery with alpharev is nearly 1 touch. from there just pick a rom and go to town. that being said, you could send it to knipp have him open it up for you and install all necessary items and ROM manager for you to swap and update ROMs with.
+1 on doing it learning it yourself. what happens if you have a bad bug or get a bootloop you won't know what to do to recover. revolutionary makes rooting extremely easy
Sent from my Incredible 2 using xda premium
Do it yourself it's free and fun and real easy. I come from a business background with no technical training at all and I did it and have been flashing ROMS all the time, can't decide which one I like best. I like the AOSP roms much more than the sense, part of the reason I rooted was do get rid of sense and use plain vanilla Android or close to it. The Inc2 is the first phone I have rooted and I am 43 years old, 15 year old kids know more about this than I do. So YOU CAN DO IT. Just read and read and read and when you think you have it figured out READ SOME MORE.

Yea, I was going to say there's any number of people here who'd be happy to walk you through the process step by step. As was said, roms are updated all the time, so you'll really want to know how to flash back and forth.
And just FYI, I had a Fascinate before this, and rooting the charge is pretty much the same as that. The Inc is different, but not difficult to root and flash.

Giggity giggity.
Free sounds good.
Great ROMs available.
Battery kills the Tbolt's.
If 4g isn't a need for you, the DInc2 is the best phone on the market IMHO, especially for the price.
I have 4g in my area, but always use wifi if i can, im leanin towards dinc 2

If its hacks an Roms you want? THe Dinc 2 is great!!!
The dinc 2 is a great phone with plenty of Roms to choose from. If I had an upgrade i would get the new $300 HTC smartphone (but thats just becuase of the specs).
If you get a dinc 2 it will be running android 2.3.4. THat version is not rooted yet.
but you can downgrade to android 2.3.3 using this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgIYFGcVimU&feature=channel_video_title
Then root 2.3.3 using

Have fun with your new rooted phone !!!
I asked the same question here a couple weeks ago ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1357066
... you might find some of the answers I got helpful to your situation.
I ended up getting my Dinc2 for free on Black Friday, and have been loving it. It's a great phone, everything I need, and nothing I don't.

for Rooting Revolutionary gives permanent root for some devices , and for others it give root but not complete permanent root ( incredible 2 is in the second group i believe ) , go to thier website for more . still you can install do all rooted things
as for Roms , if you are using CDMA there is plenty of excellent Roms Sense 3.5 . if you want GSM very few Roms for that and the maximum is Sense 3 for a stable bug less GSM Rom
the phone is nice , and battery is Very good in my opinion
Got mine at Costco for $30.
Might be a good time to check eBay/CL for a used one...

I say go for it. Rooting was fairly straightforward and I have never used adb before that. I love it so far though. It gets way better battery life than the thunderbolt and has cynanogen mod as well as really good sense roms. Also the dev have a pretty decent ICS beta out so if you want that it probably it will be stable I a bit. Enjoy
I got tired of the Sensation and got a t mobile store to match Best Buys price of $199.99 on the Gs2. So far im loving the phone. Rooted and flashed Juggernaut 4.1. I guess my only disappointment would be the dev support here. I made the mistake of assuming it would be similar to the i9100.
But anyways, any other suggestions of what i should do to my phone? opinions on what is the best rom/kernel? so far i have only tried juggernaut, its smooth as hell, but I always love trying new roms. Any stable miui roms?
well u did the essentials, its possible to run roms from the samsung skyrocket too (remember to read the instructions first)
only thing i can say is to use your phone.
that's awesome. will i find the instruction in the skyrocket forums or around here?
Yes the instructions are on this link. only thing u are doing different is after u flash the rom u flash a conversion file then whatever kernel u want. aosp roms dont work according to the thread only touchwiz based roms
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1360355
heres the miui rom
camera, data, in call audio and a few other things dont work on it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1392705
thanks. seems like im going to be up for a while flashing roms. any suggestions?
juggernaut and dewizzed run fine for me, i havent really played with the other roms that much myself
Enjoy this powerful piece of tech...

IMO You have done the best you can do with this phone at this point.
Also I must say I made the same mistake thinking that this phone had the same support as the i9100.
Best bet is to stay where you are at and wait for CM9
That's what I plan on doing. The Sensation was rumored to be getting ICS within a month or two... any eta for the gs2?

True, but after how Samsung has been slapping TW over ICS, I am not looking forward to there ICS anytime soon. Hopefully CM9 will produce something for our phone soon.
I thought about switching to another gs2 varient but I like that this phone can use both att and tmobile 3g. Also didn't wanna spend a extra $100 for the g nexus.
It's kinda neat having lots of choices for roms but my only reason for flashing roms were to remove bloat and run a little bit better than stock. With this phone it runs better stock than most phones with their best kernels and roms flashed.

Do you know how easy it is to root? I've never been on a samsung before and isn't Samsung and Cyanogen together? So we should have better CM10 builds than HTC?

Considering we have a daily driver worthy CM10 build while the Evo 4G LTE barely has a CM9 port..

I tried the evo lte for a few weeks and I exchanged it for the s3 just the other day. I don't regret it, I had the og evo for 2 years! I do think the evo has a few things better than s3, but if u add it all up, s3 wins out IMHO. Just my 2 cents

Right now i have the one x running aokp 10-12 nighties 4.1.2 its running awesome, what i want to know is which rom is a good daily driver that doesn't have many bugs. I have read trough a couple of roms however there are so many, and she hates when i install a new rom, last time i mess with her phone was back in july. I just need a few suggestions on some great daily drivers.... thx in advance

ELL O ELL you catch on quick
good day.
ROM for your sister?
STOCK.
Good lord don't flash a custom ROM on someone else's phone. If they wanna flash their own phone after learning about it then that's fine, but don't do it for them. Leave that **** stock.
for sister - Stock.
for myself - PA
Don't flash anything for anyone. Until they actually understand this whole rooting and flashing. People brick their phone BECAUSE they don't know what they're doing. Hack, I don't even recommend you to root her phone. Tell her to learn how root works and risks at least.
Swyped on my Galaxy Nexus running AOKP with Franco Kernel
Flash All of them
but seriously almost all the roms are fantastic. I personally use aokp and im contemplating trying out minco, but each rom has its differences. Decide what features in a rom are important to you. look through the OP's of each rom and decide which fits your needs the best.
I agree with those above, dont flash a rom on some one elses phone cuz inevitably they will run into some issue and blame you for "breaking" their phone.
Another ROM thread? Really?
And btw, we are back at calling them "sisters", like 40 years ago?
