Guys, Many of us didn't noticed including me that Microsoft's Worldwide Partner Conference is going live!
So, why me telling all? Its coz Windows Phone 7 will be also discussed there!

First Impressions? How long it took to install? Incompatibility Issues? Changes in system speed and stability?

That was only a rumour. I wouldn't hold your breath for it being today

Source of rumor? I just unlocked my WP7 but it can go out the Windows if it means I get C&P and faster app launching.

by the way Microsoft assured that the will support homebrew applications in future updates, son no longer need to patch the phone...

Who knows if they'll actually follow through with it? I also doubt they'll start that initiative with this update. They got more important stuff to tend to first.

Yep i also think its just a rumor. But if does turn out to be true and gets released, then hooray! Just dont hold your breath for it

if the rumors are right and they never are then 9am est is 2pm gmt so just over 5 hours. I wont hold my breath though. I hope it is right as i do get off work early on a Monday lol i'm more interested in the Nokia rumor as the wp7 is already perfect for me so i'm more interested in keeping its future alive as i don't want to go to iPhone or BB and Android is really more suited as a tablet os imho.

OK, it was rumored but usually they are attendible when they are not changed near the effective date.

I hope that this will take place in April at least. Knowing MS, I don't expect for these days

Only update we've had was to the Dev Tools, and any dates posted have only been rumours and heresay.

It become nothing of bad, if you take a look to my other posts I am just trying to help users that come here and want to experiment on their devices, that thread want just to be a place where to discuss about rumors and, if it will be released, to discuss about pros and cons about the first WP7 update.
Just don't go around asking to close threads if you don't share the content.
By the way, think we are a lot that hope for this update for speed and copy/paste, so....

No you created that thread as a place to discuss the "officially released today" update, which it's not. Then you stated that Microsoft "assured they would support homebrew applications" which is also false, which is why I wrote my post.
But never mind, I'm going back to play with Barbie since I'm the immature one.

All the good stuff will be at MIX11 in Vegas. It's been said before by the WP team that is where most of the new info will be revealed as they want to excite developers.
My bet is that the London event will be a recap of what is said at MIX11 with possibly a few new things, but nothing major.
What will be and won't be in 'Mango' seems up in the air. My bet is they hit their target date (give or take a few weeks) but not all features may make it, which is why they purposefully didn't mention them at MWC.

There's no rumor to it. Microsoft is the one promising the updates on the future of Windows Phone, not me. Thanks for the flame though.

Engadget's just posted a really nice preview of Windows Phone Mango, you guys should all check it out.
Bad news? Seems like it's still slated for Q4 of this year. Kinda glad I sold my Trophy now - so much for Multitasking in March.

er...q3 I thought since MS RTMs their OSes for OEMs between july and august with consumer reach the following fall...

I'm just going by what the article said, maybe Engadget messed up or maybe the release has been pushed back.

Awesome preview wish this update would drop soon.

It was always quite clear it will be Q4. Q3 starts in few days.

That's not being a realist. They've already stated this will be released this fall on countless occasions. Nokia has also already stated at least one phone will be released this year as well.
Its coming this year, and I bet they are working overtime to get this out by sept. if possible at least as an update to already circulating hardware.
Mid 2012 at least? That will likely be the newly discovered Tango update. Apollo will follow and likely tie in with Windows 8.

yeah, GREAT preview by engadget...i especially like the part where they say that 3rd party live tile support is finally coming with mango...thanks for the os awareness pals

I agree. Microsoft seems to be much more aggressive with the way Mango is being hyped this early in the development cycle. I will not be at all surprised to see phones with Mango pre-loaded, on store shelves before the end of September. And, I also expect the majority of carriers to be in a status of "delivering update" by mid-October at the latest.
Of course, I also believe that Samsung Focus users on AT&T will probably not receive the update until mid-2012 (still waiting for 7392 here), so in that sense I guess both extremes of the prediction scale are correct.

After reading and watching a lot of the Mango previews around the web I was surprised when I realized that even after iOS 5 was announced, and even comparing Mango to the current state of Android, that Mango is incredibly relevant and probably will be when launched -- hopefully with new hardware. Usually software announcements this far ahead of time really become dated quickly, but most of the features added really bring a lot of parity to Windows Phone.

Why haven't you used one of the workarounds? Worked perfectly fine on my phone. Took all of five minutes.

It was a pretty good review of what's coming and I really look forward to it.
I just hope with 500+ features there is not 500 bugs to go with them....

If it were I in his position, I would respond with: because I shouldn't have to.
Microsoft promised updates, and so far have failed in delivering them in a consistent manner.
Still a huge wp7 fan, don't get me wrong. I don't ever see myself using another platform, but just being honest here.

I agree to a point, but I don't fault Microsoft for this situation. I lay all of the blame right at the feet of AT&T. Their contempt for their customers is astounding. Unfortunately I'm kind of stuck, since I have a grandfathered unlimited data plan, and jumping ship to get the same deal from Verizon before they close the door on their similar plan would incur a sizable ETF.
And, after the Chevron updater near-debacle, I'm a little gun shy of any workarounds that might speed the update process along via unsupported channels. So what's a guy to do?

Last years puzzles were very fun, but even on the more difficult ones they were solved almost instantly. Gonna have twitter constantly F5'd

People just throwing stuff out. About 500000 people put 44 countries from 6 continents...if you just look at the contest rules it lists about 12 countries that are eligible, so I'm assuming those are the actual release countries...whatever.
I tried making stuff into map coordinates and came up with nonsense.

It's a numerical thing. Likely a coordinate, guessed on the format you're supposed to post it on Twitter. Probably a coordinate as to where it's manufactured.

Google just tweeted a hint: the dots are similar to semaphore flags. However it should be more challenging to decode than semaphore flags since only two flags are present at once and flags are binary (either present or not present), but in this puzzle up to 7 of the 8 directions have something present and there are six possible presences, from 0 dots to 5 dots...

i was thinking semaphore as well just couldn't think of how they related at least i thought the same as someone else though

I've been trying to figure this out but I can't figure out how the dates are to be read. I was using this to help me, but obviously there are multiple letters on each android. That's where the challenge lies.
