Hello
I sent my Nexus last week to a local repair centre. It's not a Samsung repair centre, just a general mobile phone repair centre. Today I got a letter, which announced me that some requested parts aren't available and I have to wait .
part 1
22GH59-11350A
Key FPCB-Sub PBA
part 2
SG-L2
L2
That is the information in the letter. Does somebody know what this part numbers mean? I hope they replace the right parts, so I would like to know what these parts are.
Life is hard without the Nexus It is not funny to go back to a older, smaller phone...
Try Google? What was wrong with your phone?
I had the charging bug. When I charged the phone fully and disconnected the cable, the phone thought that it is still charging. So the display was always on.
Why didn't you take it directly to Samsung?
It is the normal way, that you send the phone back to the dealer for warranty issues. My dealer has contracts with this local repair centre, so.. thats why I sent it to this one.

Gotcha, I would just try looking the parts up online.

Sent my brick in to for warranty repair to samsung, received on thursday 1/19. Currently in the "repair status". Will it be repaired without charge? From reading other forums with same sitatuation I have read that it will most likely be repaired under warranty. Any input is helpful! thanks

was it exchanged through tmobile or samsung?
Tmobile does the exchange for you as a service to their customers. The actual warranty is through Samsung. To answer your question should you have it exchanged No because flashing the ROM voids the warranty however will they? Probably.
well, only send it in if the phone doesn't turn on at all, if it turns on to even a boot screen or anything I wouldn't recommend warranty exchange. it was done through Tmobile over the phone .

Bought it off Craigslist , plus I'm not with tmobile. It doesn't power up or anything , not to worried about it just curious to as what others have done
okay, called samsung customer service today to get an update on the phone!
It has been repaired !!UNDER WARRANTY!! current status is its waiting for a shipping label to be printed. Should receive the phone by thursday or friday most likely. Not 100% sure as to what they "repaired" customer service rep somewhat vague on what was done. So hopefully more info once it arrives in the next few days!
my IMEI is under warranty but i bought it off craigslist. do they require proof of purchase?
how did you initiate a warranty repair? i would like to send mine in.
are the numbers below what i should use? or is there a better way to do this.
SAMSUNG
Phone Number: (201) 229-4000

Heeeeeeey same thing happened to me. Trust me on this. I did the same thing: flashed a MIUI Rom for an i900. Bricked it and I was like "say whaaaaaaaaa?". So I called Samsung, told them I had turned the phone off, pulled out the battery, inserted my SD Card/SIM Card (whichever you prefer), and turned it back on but nothing. Ten they'll ask you to plug it in with and without the battery and just go along with it. Tell them nothing is responsive and blah blah blah. IF THEY ASK IF ITS ROOTED SAY NO!!!! They can't check it because the ROM counter got reset. They replaced my motherboard. Sure it'll take about two weeks but it'll be back.
Here is a screenie with proof. http://i44.tinypic.com/2rpw40x.png
So yeah just call em. If you need anything, feel free to PM me .
Think mine was same as yours, should arrive thursday or friday.
Hello, I have a Hardbricked epic 4g touch and would like to know if it's possible to get it repaired or replaced without having Sprint service or insurance. I bought it off of Craigslist to use as a wifi device and didn't read carefully and Hardbricked it at the beginning of April. I tried sending it in to Samsung but it was classified as Beyond Economical Repair from Electro-Mechanical damage. I am willing to pay to have it repaired. Thank You
WTF??? I've had good experience with Samsung's repair, I had an old Epic that I'd bricked (my fault) so I microwaved it for a couple minutes so it wouldn't turn on, and they replaced it.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it is people like you who deserve no service at all, ruining it for everyone else with honest issues or fault device's.
@ OP, I've heard of certain sprint stores replacing your device as long as it's still under the 1 year warranty, some charge a 35$ fee.

The bug was recently acknowledged, so they may start choosing to not repair any device affected by the emmc bug.

Reading that will give you an idea of what the actual issue is.

Will they be willing to do it if I had no Sprint service? I tried to contact Asurion and they stated that the only way I could get a repair would be to put a device on an account. I even offered to pay whatever it costs to repair but they aren't able to due to them charging by putting deductible on the Sprint account.

From what I read, it seems to be a bug in the firmware or driver that controls the eMMC chip. I wonder why they still wouldn't offer repair service to people willing to cover the costs...

Hello dear xda community
I would like to share with you my experience with HTC ONE X.
I've bought it last June through Telenor (mobile provider in Serbia), and a month after yellow dots started appearing on the bottom of the screen. I've took it to the shop where I'd bought it and after two weeks I've got it fixed.
Than, after a while, screen started flickering, took it again to repair center and they had it fixed.
Then yellow dots reappeared, took it again to repair center and they had it fixed again.
Than, in December, I broke my screen and repaired it for 150 euro.
Then, my phone stared to restart with no apparent reason, and was getting into dead loop of restarts and freezing during boot. Got it to service and waited for more than a month to have it repaired. On service report it was written that PBA was replaced, I think it is motherboard.
That, two months after that, my WLAN reception got weaker and I could hear electronic sparks from headset in the phone.
Got it to the repair center and requested to have it replaced, was denied, and had my phone returned to me with fixed WLAN but they claimed that there was no electronic sparks that could be heard or detected.
I've shown this problem to numerous people and everyone could hear it.
Took it again to service, requested replacement, waited for three weeks and received phone without any repairs.
I've also visited unofficial service just to have it checked without opening the phone since it would void my warranty and they informed me that it most likely problem with solder and that mainboard is bad. I've told them that the mainboard was already replaced but they told me that IMEI numbers on contract and in phone are the same and that my mainboard most likely was not replaced at all.
Is IMEI written on new mainboard from old one?
Was this a fraud from official htc repair center?
I'm planning on suing Telenor for selling such a low quality phone but I need info on IMEIs as well
Thanks in advance.

I think that they are lying to save their hides.

Ouch, HTC are actually well known for lets say "fibbing". They we're caught out replacing the SLCD2 displays out for Generic LCD when sent in for replacement.
Keep your eyes peeled when you send your device to HTC !

I was not aware that official HTC repair center has a tendency to put bad parts or to lie about repairs. I am truly disappointed with HTC as brand, that is absolutely terrible IMHO
Official HTC repair center can replace imei with s-off....they have the right tools for that and official HTC center isn't putting back bad parts a repair center certificated for HTC phones could do that like it was with me....

Yeah join the club, that why my next device isn't HTC. Had HTC phones for what, 4 years? No more...
I've had mainboard replaced twice. Always new IMEI. Now I'm fighting for another replacement of mainboard but I have "relocked" status in hboot and it's hard to convince them that my issue was not coused by unlocking bootloader
At least your Hox is getting fixed.. I've sent mine in for service bc of the yellow spots (seems like every single one is getting them) and they sent it back w a new screen but with a small crack in the housing.
After 2 weeks the phone restarted in bootloader with onboard memory fried.. sent it back in for replacement bc housing, motherboard and screen (new screen issues) needed exchanging and I was not willing to accept a fully romanian built htc. They held on to it of 3 weeks (15 days max stated in the contract) then sent it back with no repairs stating that they can't get the parts.
Then they had no new HOX to replace it with so the only solution they found was to storno it and dissolve the contract. This made me lose almost a year of high priced contract payments because of them.
Now I'm signing a new 2 year contract for a note2.. not my first choice but it's the only one I can get for the same price except for the S3 which would be a step down imo and I'm not willing to pay extra because of their incompetence.
This is what working with Orange Romania and HTC is really like so BEWARE
Hello good folks,
I use the N7505. My WiFi and Bluetooth just suddenly stopped working a few days ago. I turn them on and they stay faded green for about a minute or two and then go off.
I live in Mumbai, India and bought the phone from eBay in July 2014. It had a one year seller warranty but I still took it to the Samsung Service Center. They took it in as an out-of-warranty repair and I told them to tell me the problem and any costs before they fix it.
The rep told me that I have an international model which is not supported by service centres in India, and that they won't have the necessary parts available to fix it. The technician, however, told me that the fault is in the WiFi/Bluetooth antenna and the entire motherboard would have to be replaced.
He pointed me to another general phone repair/servicing store. The guys at this store gave me an estimate for replacing the entire motherboard for Rupees 7000 (US $120).
1. Now, I don't know whether the motherboard would be a genuine Samsung product? If not, should I be worried?
2. Is it possible to only replace the WiFi/Bluetooth antenna?
3. Could all this just be a software issue?

Hey there, I had the exact same problem when I had bought Samsung Galaxy Chat (the touch and type android phone). My Wifi and BT stopped working after some time and whenever i used to turn it on they used to turn off within seconds. I tried hard reset but it didnt help. Luckily my phone was in warranty and took it to the service center. They mentioned the same thing that it is the issue with the motherboard and had to be replaced. They kept my phone for around 3 weeks as they didn't have the part with them. They replaced it for free as i had the manufacturer warranty but took 3 weeks to do the same. I always buy through online retailers like flipkart. And online market places like snapdeal and amazon india. I never buy phones from ebay but i buy just the phone accessories because many ebay sellers get phones imported from outside to earn huge profits and in turn can't provide manufacturer warranty. Seller warranty is of no use to be honest. Try for a refund or replacement through ebay if you still can.

Hello,
Ad1: I don't think someone would be producing fake Note Neo motherboards, it's a new model and too few units are existing on the market.
Ad2: Samsung service centers do not repair motherboards, they just replace it (same as other factory official service centers such as Lenovo, Dell etc). Unofficial service centers could try to replace only the failed part. It's the story of the present times: replace, not repair...
Ad3: I don't think so

Never buy phone from ebay. They claim to be actual product however you never know. In fact I also saw that I can get the phone at least 3K less however I bought the phone paying more from local store.
Those are imported phone overseas and might be already a defective/return product.
Now you can do one thing if this solves: Go to sammobile and download the original firmware and flash thru ODIN. If you do not know what is ODIN then check in Youtube.
Best of luck...
Exaxtly.. my friend had ordered Galaxy S4 and received a chinese clone of it.. which looked completely like S4.. but then after installing Android System Info app he came to know that it had a mediatek processor with 960x540 resolution.. he was lucky to get a refund through ebay guarantee.. pls beware..

I've actually bought phones from Ebay before, and they've been really good. I find that they mention all the necessary information on the product page - information like warranty (seller/manufacturer), shipment, exact model, condition (new/old).
This time, however, I took a risk and went for a product with seller warranty. It was a hasty decision.
Anyway, I've now contacted the seller and told him about the problem. He replied with EBay's customer service number and told me to call them. I called Ebay and they raised an eBay Guarantee claim (which will probably get me a new phone), and told me that someone will call me with more details within 7 days.
Also, I lost the S Pen so I still need to buy a new S Pen before I ship the phone back to the seller through Ebay. I'm frustrated to no extent!
Yes ebay guarantee helps a lot.. you will be able to get a refund or replacement according to your wish.. Btw how did you lose the s pen? It's so intact in the phone housing..

So, Ebay rejected my Ebay Guarantee Claim. I always knew that the claim was applicable within 30 days from the date of purchase, and I bought this phone in July, but the service representative told me that he was able to file a claim on his system and thought it was the best thing to do.
I have now received an email response from Ebay asking me to contact the seller directly and resolve the issue amicably.
I guess this thread can be closed now. Thanks for all your help guys. :good:

brother i think its an acident so it means you have void your warranty..
but there is a hope you can go to your nearest service centre and repair it as it will cost you half the amount compared to the 3rd party store.
because they give concession to their customers..

You cant claim warranty in this case as it is a case of accident,
the warranty is only covered when there is a software issue apart from any physical damage...
it means now, that when they will come to know that you have dropped it in water or water spilled accidentally on your device then your warranty is void and you will have to pay for any repair.
But before going to the service center make sure your device is notROOTED or else they will refuse to operate your device..
AS I SAID THEY WILL CHARGE YOU HALF THE AMOUNT COST OUTSIDE SERVICE CENTER SO MY ADVICE IS TO GO TO SERVICE CENTER AND GET IT REPAIRED
ALL THE BEST

I haven't given it for repair.I enquired and they say both screen and board got damaged and repairing would cost around 2000 bucks!
