Help! Water got inside my mobile! - Micromax Canvas A1

Hey guys,
My mobile got drenched in water accidentally. I removed the battery, dried it. Mobile boots up, but the screen is so dim! there was no effect on increasing brightness and it flickers, is my warranty gone now? how to save my phone?

brother i think its an acident so it means you have void your warranty..
but there is a hope you can go to your nearest service centre and repair it as it will cost you half the amount compared to the 3rd party store.
because they give concession to their customers..

You cant claim warranty in this case as it is a case of accident,
the warranty is only covered when there is a software issue apart from any physical damage...
it means now, that when they will come to know that you have dropped it in water or water spilled accidentally on your device then your warranty is void and you will have to pay for any repair.
But before going to the service center make sure your device is notROOTED or else they will refuse to operate your device..
AS I SAID THEY WILL CHARGE YOU HALF THE AMOUNT COST OUTSIDE SERVICE CENTER SO MY ADVICE IS TO GO TO SERVICE CENTER AND GET IT REPAIRED
ALL THE BEST

[Q] Repair Without Sprint Service

Hello, I have a Hardbricked epic 4g touch and would like to know if it's possible to get it repaired or replaced without having Sprint service or insurance. I bought it off of Craigslist to use as a wifi device and didn't read carefully and Hardbricked it at the beginning of April. I tried sending it in to Samsung but it was classified as Beyond Economical Repair from Electro-Mechanical damage. I am willing to pay to have it repaired. Thank You
WTF??? I've had good experience with Samsung's repair, I had an old Epic that I'd bricked (my fault) so I microwaved it for a couple minutes so it wouldn't turn on, and they replaced it.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it is people like you who deserve no service at all, ruining it for everyone else with honest issues or fault device's.
@ OP, I've heard of certain sprint stores replacing your device as long as it's still under the 1 year warranty, some charge a 35$ fee.

The bug was recently acknowledged, so they may start choosing to not repair any device affected by the emmc bug.

Reading that will give you an idea of what the actual issue is.

Will they be willing to do it if I had no Sprint service? I tried to contact Asurion and they stated that the only way I could get a repair would be to put a device on an account. I even offered to pay whatever it costs to repair but they aren't able to due to them charging by putting deductible on the Sprint account.

From what I read, it seems to be a bug in the firmware or driver that controls the eMMC chip. I wonder why they still wouldn't offer repair service to people willing to cover the costs...

I tried to contact mobiletechvideo and even got as far as paying for repair service but then I told him how I got my hardbrick and he said he wouldn't be able to repair it and offered me a refund.
sorry to hear sound like its just a paper weight now.

[Q] repair delay

Hello
I sent my Nexus last week to a local repair centre. It's not a Samsung repair centre, just a general mobile phone repair centre. Today I got a letter, which announced me that some requested parts aren't available and I have to wait .
part 1
22GH59-11350A
Key FPCB-Sub PBA
part 2
SG-L2
L2
That is the information in the letter. Does somebody know what this part numbers mean? I hope they replace the right parts, so I would like to know what these parts are.
Life is hard without the Nexus It is not funny to go back to a older, smaller phone...
Try Google? What was wrong with your phone?
I had the charging bug. When I charged the phone fully and disconnected the cable, the phone thought that it is still charging. So the display was always on.
Why didn't you take it directly to Samsung?
It is the normal way, that you send the phone back to the dealer for warranty issues. My dealer has contracts with this local repair centre, so.. thats why I sent it to this one.

HTC One X Kaput...

Hello Guys,
after I had issues with my HTC One X (screen flickering and distorted and some times not waking up and not turning on..)
I decided to send it to repair.
The problem is that the phone is not under Warranty. I got it from a friend who got it without warranty from Dubai.
Bottom line, the repair center called today and told me that the motherboard is at fault and needs to be changed..
and they don't know where to get it from and that probably it is very costly and that I should just throw it away !!!!
Any idea if I can send it abroad for repair ? or order online the motherboard ?
We do not have HTC repair center in Lebanon...(middle East).
Any help is welcomed.
Thanks a lot guys !
I think that's an expensive repair. Not meaning to be rude, but why the **** would you get it without warranty?
Sent from my HTC One X
I was fooled.. and thought it was under warranty...
Any idea where I can get that motherboard ?
I am expecting it to be expensive... But I bought for 400Bucks... so I will pay 200 to get it fixed... better than throwing away 400 no ?
Thx
I dont think you can buy just the motherboards. I have never seen the motherboard for sale. I suppose you could buy a smashed one. Id get the phone back from the repair place. Sell it as broken then buy a new phone with warranty.

What does this mean without warranty and you thought it has warranty?
From what I gather, the phone should be still in the one year warranty period from htc. As its not a year out.
If you have a proof of purchase this should be enforceable.
If its not unlocked etc. Even then you might have a shot as they already said its a hw problem.

I Might Just be Done with Samsung :(

Usually, I'm the last person to complain about warranty issues but Samsung has literally just pushed me over the edge!
After something went awry with my phone, and my screen cracked from the inside/stopped working, I called them up and they asked me to send in pictures of the damage and was promptly told that the issue would be covered by my warranty. I sent my phone in and awaited repairs but today I was contacted by "Service Absolute", a Samsung authorized warranty service provider; they told me that my warranty was void due to physical damage and that repairs on my device would cost..... get this......
$310.54!!!!
I've asked for my phone back without repairs and I guess I'll be forced to sell it for peanuts
Sorry for the crazy rant, I know there's not much I or anyone else can do about this situation, just needed to vent.

Should have got insurance if you are on contract, covers any kind of damage, stolen or lost for $10 a month added to you phone plan, my gnex might go missing around the same time the new nexus comes out

As someone who works in insurance ( homeowners/renters/auto) I have to say the the prices charged for insurance on a phone are outrageous. The price paid for the insurance for the value of the item being insured is totally out of whack when it comes to phones and is a complete ripoff.
complaining about you cracking your screen and it not being covered?
c'mon now
I guess the irony there is someone joking about faking an insurance claim on a phone, and someone two posts later saying how the insurance costs too much. Guess it's a messed up world all over!
I can't stomach the wasted money monthly myself, figure if the worst happens I'll just replace on my own. It helps having a family plan with an upgrade ready to go if needed in worst case.

I don't mind that it's not covered, I'm upset about the fact they told me it would be based on an initial assessment and worse yet, the cost of repairing it....

Never insure something you can easily afford to replace. Insurance only purpose is to transfer risk to someone else for replacement. When the cost outweighs the benefits then it becomes not worth it.
OP pics or it didn't happen!

Samsung warranty anyone?

Hi, I recently bought a tmobile note 3 from a guy in craigslist and worked perfectly until about a week a go. The microphone stopped working, when in a call people can't hear me unless I switch to speaker. I bought the new charging port / microphone, installed it and the problem persist. I took it to a cell phone repair shop and they also change the same board with no luck. Now the store tech told me the previous owner change the whole screen assembly with one from att and had to slightly modified it /grind it in order to fit. Also the sticker behind the battery is gone since they replaced the screen assembly. I called samsung and they said my phone is under warranty and they send me a label to ship it for repair. My question is do you think the warranty will apply? The phone has no water damage. Thanks
Rooted? If so you is ****ed

Anyone?
i believe that warranty will be voided simpley because the device has been cracked open. add the fact that the screen has been replaced with a different version and labels are missing it screams warranty denied.
it sounds like you'll need to get it fixed somewhere else. might be the case where Samsung will offer to fix it for you but you'll be responsible for all repair charges
The device has been physically modified, doubt it would be covered under warranty.

No.
Well I recently did a warranty exchange because my phone stopped charging. I got the replacement and sent back the defective one. The phone was rooted, with wicked rom installed, and knox at 0x1. Got a message last week that they received it.
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
It's been physically modified/tampered with.
You can send it to them but they will charge full price for the replacement after evaluation. They are very specific about condition. Water indicators, dis-assembly, physical damage, etc. WILL be grounds for warranty dismissal and full charge for replacement handset.
Nah my phone doesn't have a scratch or anything around it no damage no water damage to s4 just rooted my mine was 0x30 or something...
Would you know the price for screen repair not digitizer
