Hi.
I'm just confused about how does the warranty system work for Xperia phones.
First, where to send it? I didn't find anything from sonyxperia.com. Is it a private company that repairs the phones or is it just a subsidiary of Sony?
Second, does the warranty work without the receipt you got when you purchased the product? I did not get a receipt, because I ordered the poutine from a small online store. I have the confirmation emails they've sent me, but is it enough? I've also heard it's the IMEI code that destined the warranty, true or false?
I'm asking all this because I'm selling my Arc( probably buying Xperia S or GS2) and the buyer wants to know that the warranty does work.
Thank you in advance!

Two years warranty. Using the little warranty paper that followed and the shipping papers should be ok

Thru the warranty they send you the phone overnighrt. Usually you'll get it by the next day or the day after. Then after you receive it you send your defective phone via the same box the new one arrived.

You're thinking thru T-Mobile buddy, thru Sammy you need to send your device in 1st and its usually a 1 week turnaround.

Why would you send the phone to Samsung, when you can have it replaced much quicker through T-mobile? It doesn't matter where you bought it as long as you're a T-mobile customer.

You can only get a replacement through T-mobile if you have their insurance plan, otherwise you have to go through the manufacturer. You're **** out of luck if you don't have a receipt though. They don't care about the manufacture date on the phone, only the receipt.

Um no. If you bought from t mobile and chose to not take their insurance you still have a one year warranty rhat can be claimed. Through Tmobile by either calling csr reps, online chat or going to the store. Whomever told you otherwisenis misinformed.

I did send my Samsung nexus S for warranty work to Samsung and it took about 3 weeks till i got it back. Since then i have learned to always have a decent backup phone.
And this from Samsung not TMobile.

Mines took about 7-8 days. They did free 2nd day shipping both ways for me though. Got mines back better than the way I received it too lol. They replaced my cracked bezel, even though I didn't say that was the problem with my phone.

I am in need of a replacement galaxy nexus because it has a faulty screen and the battery door doesn't stay in anymore anymore. I've looked around on the internet and still can't find what number to call. Could anyone direct me how to get a replacement?

I had some problems with my first Droid, ally, and gnex. As long as you pay to have insurance they should be able to help. Just take it into the store and whatever company you have will be able to help you.

Unfortunately, I am going through the same process. The earpiece totally stopped working and none of the headset toggle apps seem to fix it.
To the question, should I unroot my phone before I send it in to Samsung for them to repair it or do you think its even a big deal? I have heard that most companies don't really care about this anymore.
Well when you root the device your warranty is void so I would probably unroot

Oh I'm well aware of that. I just remember a few people saying some companies just don't care anymore if it didn't involve bricking it. Obviously my rooting the device had nothing to do with the problem at hand. I guess I might as well, just to be safe. Thanks.
I work at sprint as a service and repair technician, so I know how sprints advance exchanging works ;p if it comes down to needing an exchange, how does the process work for at&t? I pay for the 10$ insurance, does this cover exchanges through at&t past the 1 year warranty, or does this cover strictly physical damage/lost or stolen Situations?
I've been with att since 2006 and every time i have a defective issue I get it replaced through a device support center at no charge that first year unless its physically damaged, tampered, and or water damaged.
If past the warranty period the insurance covers it all really
Hope this helps

Thanks so much for a reply. Is it possible to get it switched out over the phone with care?

Yes thats how it always worked in my experience. The only way they will exchange it in store is if you bring it back to the same store you bought it from within 30 days.
Device support centers are not stores, they exist to do warranty replacements.

If I purchased my phone from Best Buy, can I go to the AT&T DSC to get an exchange (after the 30 days) or do I have to deal directly with Samsung?

One item to note, in most cases, the replacement phone WILL be a refurbished replacement.
You can also do it over the phone as well and I know there are some city's where they do not have dsc and they do the replacements in the store as well

when i go to the e-support link on att's site, it doesn't show GS3 as an eligible device.
has anyone successfully exchanged one?
So i recenty sent in my htc one x, gave it to my provider and they havent told me about the price. So i just wanted to ask how much the price of repairing a screen would cost, they said they will let me know. Is anyone here who can share their experience with me in regards of the cost of broken screen?
As for warranty. That bisnitch told me that should any future damage occur even if it is not my fault like a defect for instance that this will not be done for free, Is that actually. True by law or should i send her to the kitchen? Excuse my use of words toward this. Vile venom. Didnt find her friendly at all. I just cant believe that having accidentaly damaged your screen and getting your device repaired voids all warranty caused by a hardware fault in future. Anyone?
Thanks in advance guys

It's about 150 UK pounds.
In the EU, you would probably still be covered by consumer laws, regardless of "warranty".
So basically just because my phone's display had broken and i got it repaired any defects caused by the hardware and not the user after the phone has been repaired should still be covered by warranty?
The pricing you mention seems to fit what im expecting. Lets see what they say

Forget warranty.
Look at consumer law for your country.
No need to reply to this thread anymore but thanks guys.. ive decided to pay 300 euros and get a nexus 4 instead of wasting 200 to 250 on a stupid screen

My official warranty for note 2 is gonna end within a week and luckily I happened to visit the samsung service center regarding my friend's phone. On a casual talk with the reception guy I found that I can extend my official warranty by another 1year by paying 1950 INR.
So guys I think its a good deal, but what do guys say?
