Wipe clean and reflash if your on a ROM. It may be an app or corrupt data. If it persists you'll need to go back to stock. And see if you have a defective handset.

Are you using the stock charger? If not make sure you are. Maybe purchase another charger and see if that is the issue?

Sounds like liquid damage to the charger or charging port to me. Check both for anything green/white/chalky looking on the gold contacts.

Hello all. My phone has been having a weird issue, every time that I have my phone plugged in to charge the screen starts clicking on random stuff. For example, if I am browsing a website and my phone is connected to the wall charger it'll start to zoom in and out of the page that I've viewing without me touching the screen. It also starts clicking on random links on the page that i am viewing. Once I disconnect the charger off my phone everything goes back to normal. I was wondering if anybody has the same problem. Should I take the phone to sprint?
There are other threads about this not sure if there is any reason to take it to Sprint. Its something with samsungs usb wall brick. Try a different one.

Mine does that also. My phone will get me through the day though, so whenever I do need to charge it, its late at night where I'm going to sleep.

Is this normal activity? While connected to the charger and trying to select anything on the screen the screen jerks and selects what it wants. I've only had the phone for 1 full day now and I'm not cool with a new phone acting like this. I noticed after I made the post that this is the wrong section, please move.
Its a well known issue. Try to switch chargers if you have one from another device, it helps sometimes. I use the charger from my girlfriend's Blackberry and it works fine. The stock Samsung chargers are wonky for some reason.

Unfortunately I don't have any other usb chargers this small. Would you happen to know where it was discussed? I'm guessing everyone is cool with this and just dont use the phone while charging? Even though it takes HOURS to charge.
There's quite a few threads about this issue. Just search through general and Q and A.

Mine did this too, so I went back to Sprint and they exchanged the WHOLE THING.. phone and all.. went home.. charged it.. same issue. I went back and told them I just want a different charger so they gave me a hand full of HTC chargers.. they work like a dream.

I tried out a old blackberry charger that I found and that works with no lag. Only thing is that the cord isn't as sturdy as I'd like it to be, but it's good to be able to use the phone while it charges. Plus, it didn't take a long time to charge like with the stock usb.
My wife is on vacation driving down to MS (from WV) and her phone died.
She was talking on it and co-pilot was running and then the phone shut off.
She couldn't reboot it, it would boot, then try and reboot and make a vibrate pattern like "beeeeeeppp beep beep" repeatedly and never boot. I told her (on the phone) that it might be that her battery was just dead.
So i had her turn the phone off and then put it on the charger.
Well, it's 10 hours later on a charge and the same thing is happening. She can't boot, she can't get into recovery, when she does the 3 finger salute the same thing happens....the vibration pattern.
She's been running aristodemos without problems up until now.
What do you think could be the problem? Battery? Charging port dead?
She said she's going to find an AT&T store while she's down there and tell them that her phone won't charge...could they charge her battery for her.
What do you think? Should we wait until she's back here and just put my battery in the phone? I ask because I don't want them to figure out that she's rooted and not help her.

Sounds like what happened to my cousin's Note. I tried to root it and it did 3 beeps and boot loop. It might need recovery. If a nandroid is available on her phone then she needs to restore it if possible. If not, recovery via Kies is the next option. Unfortunately, Kies wipes everything.

She can't get to recovery so how is she going to get to a nandroid backup?
How could she use kies if the phone won't even boot? Not understanding.

Sorry, I missed that somehow. A new battery might be worth a shot. Try yours when she gets back. AT&T will get another battery and see if it works.

I don't think so...I'm not sure why but when she tries, nothing happens. I'm coaching her remotely so It could be that she's just not doing it right or that the battery won't even get her to that point....i'm not sure why but at this point, she can't.
If she could...we'd be in good shape, I'd have her wipe the phone and start over.
I'm not sure whether I should tell her to hold off until she gets home to try my battery or go to the ATT store...I'd hate for them to put a new battery in and have it do something that shows that it's running a leaked rom and rooted....though I'm not sure what they'd do.
Would they just tell her to go away or would they note it on the account like we were somehow not entitled to warranty assistance even if we put it back to stock?

They might report it, but when I had a hardbrick on my Atrix, I took it there. They didn't report it. If all else fails, report it lost and get another one. The best way to know is wait for her to get back.
Does the phone even turn on for a split second?

It turns on but tries to boot....black screen and vibrations is all that happens. When that has happened to my phone I just recovered it so I'm not sure why hers isn't recoverable...operator error or it's just bricked.
I guess I'll just tell her to wait until she gets back unless someone has a better idea.

If it turns on even for a second there might be a good chance to save it. Best thing to do is to wait. You can probably recover it using odin. My cousin's Note did that too, but he got lucky. I managed to fix it using Kies. I hope it works out.

Are you saying that your phone won't charge now? You have to take the battery out? Or are you saying that once you got it above 0v then you were back to normal?
OK.....situation solved!
Here is what happened:
She was using Co-Pilot and talking on the phone with the phone plugged into the charging jack in the car. It wasn't charging fast enough to keep up with usage, so it went dead dead dead.
So after she hooked it up to the charger...it still didnt' charge fast enough to get enough charge in the phone to enter recovery.
She got to the motel, plugged it in and left it overnight. Rebooted into recovery this morning and did a factory wipe and all is well.
Thanks for the help guys.
The phone was unable to charge it. The stand alone battery charger could. I just dont let it go zero anymore

Hey guys,
I just upgraded to a Note II from a Captivate. I've had it for about month completely stock, in the last I'd say 3 days I've been having this really frustrating problem. Whenever I go to charge the phone, it will charge for only a second or two and stop. Sometimes it will go back and from charge, stop, charge stop. But also when this happens the phone freezes up. If I have low battery, every time it stops charging that window pops up stating low battery, but I can never close the window because the phone is frozen. The back and menu haptic buttons will not work as well, the only option is to use the physical home key. I have to restart it several times to get it to charge, and make sure the screen turns off since sometimes it won't.
Has anyone else had any trouble like this? Any advice would be great. Thank you!
Factory reset
This sounds like a physical defect to me, the note 1 was plagued with it. Have you tried wiggling the cord in the slot?
Now that I reread your post I would be taking that device into where you bought it and have them document the issue. Since your stock this is an easy process and having it documented at the local retailer will (according to att customer service) increase your chance of getting a new device over a refurb.

I tried a Factory Reset, I plugged the phone in right after and didn't have any problem so I thought okay maybe that did it. Went through the rest of my day without trying again. Now, trying again before bed only to find that when I plug it in now, it charges for a second, stops, then brings up the notification that the dock has been attached. I'll be taking it back to At&t tomorrow and will report my findings. Thanks for the help thus far.

Was having a similar problem with mine. Okay usually when I would charge it it would stop and then restart. Additionally, I noticed that I could not connect to any computer or USB on the go devices as it would not recognize them. In the end I went with my Samsung phone to the service center near me and they repaired a defective module for the USB port on the spot. Now it works like brand-new.
Honestly this sounds like a bad cable. A dirty in port in the phone. Or a wet connection. Try using rubbing alcohol and qtips or smaller cleaners. Give it a couple minutes to evaporate when done. If that doesn't fix it your phone has internal issues. Stock. Triangle away. Ask for a replacement. Will be fulfilled. Especially if problem is provable.

I apologize for the delayed reply. I waited for the phone to do its charging fit at home before taking it to AT&T....twice...I went to two separate stores because both are so close to me, and BOTH times the phone did not do it while charging in their store. I told them I have been using the Samsung charging cable and block, along with some other from different android phones, and all were giving the either stop / start charge with freeze, or the stop/start charge, "dock is connected," freeze. They told me it must be a bad block, and that the other chargers I am using aren't providing enough amps, hence why the phone gets crazy. I just thought to myself, you've got to be kidding me. So I went back, stopped using the block I got with the phone, I found my girlfriends usb power adapters from one of her old Apple devices (...I know right..) and used that along with the Samsung cable. So far, I haven't had a problem with it. I also tried my neighbor's charger from her S3, and that worked fine when I tried it. The phone does still do the described problem when it's plugged into other chargers, even my car charger. I might try cleaning the port itself as suggested and see if that does anything. Also was suggested by the AT&T rep to get a charger that's "high amp," so I'll give that a try as well. It just doesn't seem normal to have to go through all of that trouble though, I don't think Samsung would make their phone not be compatible with other micro usb charger devices?

So, my Galaxy Nexus just started screwing up, it keeps saying it's charging when it's not, I have SlimBean installed and it has the LED light enabled whenever it charges, well it doesn't turn on unless it's actually charging, which is weird, it says it's charging but it doesn't turn on until I plug it in, and it doesn't say its charging when I power it off, so it leads to the conclusion that it may be a software problem, I use the stock charger USB and it is detected by my computer, I have tried several ROMs and kernels and it still doesn't go away.
Factory data wipe to make sure it's not an app and it's still not going away, it keeps waking up my device and it kills the battery(ironic huh?)
