Is this normal activity? While connected to the charger and trying to select anything on the screen the screen jerks and selects what it wants. I've only had the phone for 1 full day now and I'm not cool with a new phone acting like this. I noticed after I made the post that this is the wrong section, please move.
Its a well known issue. Try to switch chargers if you have one from another device, it helps sometimes. I use the charger from my girlfriend's Blackberry and it works fine. The stock Samsung chargers are wonky for some reason.

Unfortunately I don't have any other usb chargers this small. Would you happen to know where it was discussed? I'm guessing everyone is cool with this and just dont use the phone while charging? Even though it takes HOURS to charge.
There's quite a few threads about this issue. Just search through general and Q and A.

Mine did this too, so I went back to Sprint and they exchanged the WHOLE THING.. phone and all.. went home.. charged it.. same issue. I went back and told them I just want a different charger so they gave me a hand full of HTC chargers.. they work like a dream.

Is a ban really serious? I searched and was in q & a and didn't see anything. Calm down. I've had this phone 2 days now, ran into a few issues and just want to know how to resolve them.

I tried out a old blackberry charger that I found and that works with no lag. Only thing is that the cord isn't as sturdy as I'd like it to be, but it's good to be able to use the phone while it charges. Plus, it didn't take a long time to charge like with the stock usb.

Hello all. My phone has been having a weird issue, every time that I have my phone plugged in to charge the screen starts clicking on random stuff. For example, if I am browsing a website and my phone is connected to the wall charger it'll start to zoom in and out of the page that I've viewing without me touching the screen. It also starts clicking on random links on the page that i am viewing. Once I disconnect the charger off my phone everything goes back to normal. I was wondering if anybody has the same problem. Should I take the phone to sprint?
There are other threads about this not sure if there is any reason to take it to Sprint. Its something with samsungs usb wall brick. Try a different one.

My phone turned blue the whole screen. Its strange I have no clue why

Mine does that also. My phone will get me through the day though, so whenever I do need to charge it, its late at night where I'm going to sleep.

For some reason everytime my phone is plugged in it will click random things that I do not touch. I go to send a message and the phone can't do that because I cannot type effectively. When I try to unlock the phone it does random patters of trying to unlock but just doesn't work.
Can anyone help? It's randomly clicking everything when I try to text while it's charging.
Are you using the charger your E4GT came with? I purchased an aftermarket charger to charge my device at work & it did that. Made the touchscreen completely unusable while charging.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
I am using the stock charger that it came with and it's causing the problem..
Hmm. Strange. Try charging via computer usb. If it still does it, I would check the cable.

Works fine with the cable plugged into my laptop but it charges to slow for me to keep it in there..
Crazy question: what kind of Bluetooth headset do you have?
I had this problem with the Samsung HM6450 with their app installed and running. Every time I'd hang up from a phone call I'd hear that weird clicking sound with the phone plugged in. If I unplugged it the clicking either went away entirely or was reduced until I rebooted the phone which would reset it entirely. But it was only with the headset on and I believe with the app running.
I can confirm this happening. A customer switched twice and each of the devices acted weird.
Another rep reported the same thing but only when charging.
I've never seen it on mine until we used the stock charger as I used the one from my rant. How ever it did happen on the stock charger but rarely.
Had another customer bring it for service stating the same issue as well.
Had same issue until I started loading 2.3.6 roms ek02. The one that came with phone glitches while charging.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
So is there anyway I can fix this problem without getting a replacement?
I had the same issue! I switched to the Rogue Stock EK02 kernel and somehow that stopped it. Try using different kernels, that may solve your issue.
[Insert witty signature here]
I just think some of the stock chargers are just not properly grounded causing issues with the screen sensors. I used the same cord and use an old htc charger and the problem went away. Tried charging with the samsung charger and got the same problems again with the screen being unresponsive and almost to the point where I can't use the phone at all.
Its the stock charger. Issues been known and reported since the release of the phone. Use a 3rd party charger and youll be fine.
mine did it with the stock Samsung charged head. Switched it with my old palm pre one and it works fine now

Ok thanks guys I tried one of my friends chargers and it worked, I'll buy a new one.
Thanks everybody!
Can anyone recommend a charger? Thanks!
Hey guys just wanted to know is anybody else is having this issue that you plug your phone and instead of charging, keeps loosing charge, I don't know if it's a rom related issue (I doubt it) or just a defect from factory.
Is it a known issue I'm sorry I'm on the app at work and can't search that well on the app as you all know.
Thanks in advance

Have you tried another cable/charger? My daughter goes through charging cables about once a month. I don't get how, I've been using the same one I got with my EVO.
I feel such a noob! It was the charger, but that is so cheap of samsung to give such a bad charger, now I'm using my old evo 3D charger and works like a charm!
Thanks
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
Yeah, its probably just had a bad charger connection. For example, I have two LG chargers. One really "sticks" when charging, for example I could move the phone around and it will continue to charge. The other one, even the slightest movement, loses its charge easily.
Hey guys,
I just upgraded to a Note II from a Captivate. I've had it for about month completely stock, in the last I'd say 3 days I've been having this really frustrating problem. Whenever I go to charge the phone, it will charge for only a second or two and stop. Sometimes it will go back and from charge, stop, charge stop. But also when this happens the phone freezes up. If I have low battery, every time it stops charging that window pops up stating low battery, but I can never close the window because the phone is frozen. The back and menu haptic buttons will not work as well, the only option is to use the physical home key. I have to restart it several times to get it to charge, and make sure the screen turns off since sometimes it won't.
Has anyone else had any trouble like this? Any advice would be great. Thank you!
Factory reset
This sounds like a physical defect to me, the note 1 was plagued with it. Have you tried wiggling the cord in the slot?
Now that I reread your post I would be taking that device into where you bought it and have them document the issue. Since your stock this is an easy process and having it documented at the local retailer will (according to att customer service) increase your chance of getting a new device over a refurb.

I tried a Factory Reset, I plugged the phone in right after and didn't have any problem so I thought okay maybe that did it. Went through the rest of my day without trying again. Now, trying again before bed only to find that when I plug it in now, it charges for a second, stops, then brings up the notification that the dock has been attached. I'll be taking it back to At&t tomorrow and will report my findings. Thanks for the help thus far.

Was having a similar problem with mine. Okay usually when I would charge it it would stop and then restart. Additionally, I noticed that I could not connect to any computer or USB on the go devices as it would not recognize them. In the end I went with my Samsung phone to the service center near me and they repaired a defective module for the USB port on the spot. Now it works like brand-new.
Honestly this sounds like a bad cable. A dirty in port in the phone. Or a wet connection. Try using rubbing alcohol and qtips or smaller cleaners. Give it a couple minutes to evaporate when done. If that doesn't fix it your phone has internal issues. Stock. Triangle away. Ask for a replacement. Will be fulfilled. Especially if problem is provable.

I apologize for the delayed reply. I waited for the phone to do its charging fit at home before taking it to AT&T....twice...I went to two separate stores because both are so close to me, and BOTH times the phone did not do it while charging in their store. I told them I have been using the Samsung charging cable and block, along with some other from different android phones, and all were giving the either stop / start charge with freeze, or the stop/start charge, "dock is connected," freeze. They told me it must be a bad block, and that the other chargers I am using aren't providing enough amps, hence why the phone gets crazy. I just thought to myself, you've got to be kidding me. So I went back, stopped using the block I got with the phone, I found my girlfriends usb power adapters from one of her old Apple devices (...I know right..) and used that along with the Samsung cable. So far, I haven't had a problem with it. I also tried my neighbor's charger from her S3, and that worked fine when I tried it. The phone does still do the described problem when it's plugged into other chargers, even my car charger. I might try cleaning the port itself as suggested and see if that does anything. Also was suggested by the AT&T rep to get a charger that's "high amp," so I'll give that a try as well. It just doesn't seem normal to have to go through all of that trouble though, I don't think Samsung would make their phone not be compatible with other micro usb charger devices?

So I immediately fell in love with the fast charging capability of this phone. Unfortunately ive noticed its not charging as fast as it used to. I ran it down to 2% yesterday and put it on the charge. I get the slow charge in the notification, which ive been getting a lot, so I unplug and replug and it dosent return. 2hrs later I'm at 28%, when I wake up to go to work its only at 91%, problem is I woke up for work at 10 and put it on the charge at like 3:45. Anyone else noticed this?? This isnt the first time its happened just never this bad... I'm using the stock charger. I tried others but same thing. Get slow charge, unplug then replug it goes away havent had a chance to test charge time withem yet tho. I think its the charger but wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue. I'm rooted and turned the thermal throttleing off. Any ideas?

Did you plug in wall wallet charge or notebook's USB cord? On wall it should charge in 3+ hrs
In my case I just swap the batteries of my F240 and don't know how much time it has to fully charge
Yeah I plugged it into a wall, then this morning i did the same thing and it went from 45% to 95 in 45min... dunno lol I'll try cleaning the leads it spends a lotta time in my pocket and the inconsistancy seems like something stupid like that lol

I've noticed sometimes that if it doesn't make a good connection it will say Slow Charge in the status bar. When that happens I just disconnect and reconnect.

I used a different cable from a Kindle because it was larger. Figured as long as it was connected to the same wall adapter the phone came with it would be fine. Unfortunately it looks like the only way to get the fast charge speed into use LG's cable which is way to short.

That would be weird if the cable had anything to do with it.

Oh I assure you it did for me. Try a generic cable or one from a normally allow charging device for yourself. I haven't tried a cable from any of the other large battery devices yet. I'd imagine a galaxy s4 cable or something would work.

For the record, at work I have a samsung wall charger and a cable from monoprice. It charges quickly, without a slow charge warning. At home, I'm using Samsung wall charger with samsung cable, and the same quick results. It doesn't have to be the stock charger/cable, just make sure it's one of quality.
