Hello,
I have a problem with my Kindle Fire after updating to 6.3.1. I have been locked out of the browser -- it is grayed out and when I try to open it asks for the Parental Controls password. This problem began immediately after updating, so I never set a password. The only option appears to be to restore the Kindle to factory settings, but that is something I would rather not do.
I have looked the the Kindle forum and Amazon and others who have this problem have reported that entering a password that has been entered at some point on the Kindle unlocks it. That seems bizarre to me. I have tried entering as many passwords that I could think of but nothing works.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Try entering the password for your Amazon account. My daughter had the same thing happen and that is what worked for her.

Thank you for the suggestion. It did not work for me, however. Apparently Amazon is aware of the problem and is working to fix it, so I will just wait it out.

for a while now, i have not been able to login to the amazon app store app. i've used it since day one on numerous devices without issue up until about 2 months ago. now, when i try to login, it tells me to enter a correct email and password. the info i put in is correct and i even changed password to try that. it doesn't work. i can put that same info in the regular amazon app and it works just fine. i'm rooted and using blazer's rom right now. i used aokp prior to blazer, and i believe that's when my issues started. on a sidenote, i have the same exact issue on my hp touchpad running classic nerd. any ideas or suggestions? thanks!

For amazon u probably have too many devices registered. Go to your account details in amazon.com and remove some devices associated with your email login and you should be good.

Alright, so I have an issue. My issue is regarding the HBO GO app. I downloaded it off of the play store and now every time I try to launch it is fails and crashes on start-up. (I've heard that you can edit the build.prop to get this to work; if that's the case, here is my build.prop. If anyone has an heal it would be greatly appreciated.(This is the ROM i'm using.)
Did yiu try wiping cache

Yes.
I downloaded foxfi last night to tether to my old rezound and it had me set up a pin (I later changed to a pattern). Is there a way of turning off the security pattern so I can just slide to unlock like normal. It's aggravating to have to have that extra step.

I've been looking for a way myself, and no luck. I saw a rumor that said if you purposely got the pattern wrong 5 times then use the forgot pattern option, sign in with Google, then turn off screen lock it would work. I tried it and it didn't work. But, free tethering is worth that small inconvenience to me. Good luck finding a solution, if you do please let me know.

Not sure if clearing credentials will mess anything up. Do you "renew" your credentials somehow?

You will have to reinstall the certificates next time you start up Foxfi. That's a temporary solution. But then when Foxfi is running again you'll have to install certs again.

This is implying that it will ask you to install the certificate once again. But yes removing the certificate will allow you to remove the lock.
FoxFi hasn't been working for me in days. Tried everything I can think of.
In the article it talks about with the credentials gone, people can basically steal your credentials? How is that? That is the only thing keeping me from going through with it.

It's pretty weird... I have my Ouya fully stock, without any customization, and I'm without contact with anything Ouya related since yesterday. Can't see anything in "Discover", cant update my installed games to new versions, nothing... I'm sure this little garbage cube is online because I can use online streams from XBMC... Anyone knows how to deal with this situation without a factory reset?
Just did something really dumb. Just thought that a Factory Reset would solve this situation and this garbage box is now useless. Can't connect to the servers, so it cant do the initial setup...

When you had the problem before, you had to uncheck and recheck the automatic time opton on the settings, worked for me everytime.
Problem solved. Thanks!
Man, I hate this thing more and more...

I've been using my Amazon Fire TV for about 2 weeks and love it. netflix was working fine. Today it will not complete loading anything. Just hangs there. Nothing has changed since yesterday in the setup.
Any ideas?
thanks,
Patti
I don't know if this will help or not but assuming you have already cleared data/cache I had a similar problem where Netflix would do the same thing before eventually saying to try again later or try another video.
My solution was to use a new HDMI cable. I don't know why Netflix doesn't give you a more helpful error message but such is life.
Hope this helps!
