Im guessing that your are using a custom kernel. Some don't support usb OTG. Check if the kernel supports it, otherwise flash a kernel that does. For instance ICS siyah, thoravukk support using it. Cf-root kernels as well since they are mostly stock

Issues with custom kernels

For some odd reason I cannot flahs any custom kernels. Whenever I flash some rom, the included kernel will work just fine. But if I flash another one, like franco or matr1x, I end up in bootloop, or stucks at boot. Anyone else experienceing this behaviour?
You need to make sure you flash a kernel that is built for the version of android you are using.
For example ARHD 2.1.1 is 4.0.2 so you can not use the Matr1x v1.5 kernel because it is built for 4.0.3
Always read the OP before flashing, the info is there
Edit: messed up my version numbers
Sent from a phone that is not running ICS
I have the same problem - no matter what kernel I use or how I try to install it I have yet to find one that will work with a stock version of ICS 4.0.2 on my phone - they always freeze at the boot screen, I don't get any further.
I have indeed checked versions before flashing.

[XXLE4]Issue with custom kernel - disturbing reboots
Hi everyone,
I am facing an huge issue that make me unable to flash any custom kernel without rebooting.
I though it was because brand new XXLE4 cannot support 1k+ frequencies or may be another things than I could not have been imagine because of my poor informatic and linux knowledges but it seems that i am just unable to flash custom kernel. only the original CF-ROOT doing his job but others aren't.
May be because of the SetCPU apps but it is less sure that the origin take his effect from that apps. It is a quit anoying because I would have been set my Scary 120 - 1350 to get an impressive battery life with the brand new UC-Kernel but seems to be a mirage for me.
I had got some custom roms but I can't just use them because I want an real free-bugs ROM an official release are the only one option for me and my usual usage.
Thanks in advance for the help provided and I apologies for my bad english.
maybe EXT format?

4.0.2? I believe no custom kernels support 4.0.2 anymore. Updated/latest versions of said custom kernels at least. I think franco has a 4.0.4 version of his though i'm sure very few people are on 4.0.4, 4.0.2 is just a thing of the past.

How are you flashing kernels? What recovery do you have installed?

Cifs manager

Has anyone gotten cifsmanager to mount a local samba share successfully? Every time I try I'm told no media exists.
I used the default /mnt/cifs/ directory and root, neither work.
I thought cifs was only enabled for certain devices, usually via a custom rom? I have not heard of cifs compatibility with the prime.

oh I have no idea. I just use it on my nook color and was hoping that it would work on my galaxy nexus.
Can anyone confirm?
Do I just need root access (which I already have) or do I have to be running a custom ROM in order to mount samba shares?
You need a kernel that supports CIFS (in addition to root), then you can mount via commandline or though an app.
An example is Faux's 0.9

Can I use the stock ROM with an alternative kernel?
You can, though take care to ensure the kernel is compatible with your version of stock android.

I'm in the same situation. I thought it was my problem, but it looks like either a problem with the stock kernel, then the nexus.
then you confirmed to me that the original kernel is impossible to operate with CifsManager?
Anyone has tried successfully to change kernel with the original ROM?

It should be no problem. I have changed kernels in other custom ROM's and changing a kernel in the stock ROM should be the same. But if you are running 4.0.2, make sure the kernel is compatible with that version.

Will try Air Kernel and report back tomorrow. Im also suspecting on port of my gn coz some time it detected when i slightly move the cable through Stick Mount but does'nt give me any notification in notification bar. I also change the OTG cable but nothing. Currently i am using AOKP mr1 build 2 with its stock kernel(lean).
That's nice. no need to report back
Just found that its working with Xylon 18 with its stock kernel but still not detecting mouse dono why?
OTG works with any stock kernel of the GalNex. It finds MassStorageDevices fine and works great with keyboards and mice. The only issue is it doesn't mount the MassStorageDevices. If you're rooted enough to get a custom kernel you're rooted enough to take 5 seconds and mount the device yourself. Still no mounting in the stock 4.2.1 kernel though so you can only use MassStorageDevices with root.

4.1.1 custom ROM

Hello,
I recently needed an emulation machine for work. So I took my old note 2 rooted it and downgraded it to 4.1.1 so I could connect my wiimotes (the main purpose of this) for said emulators. As you all know I'm sure the Bluetooth stack is missing the protocol for this connection type. In 4.2+
My question is.....is there anyway to make a custom ROM for the note 10.1 2014 edition that is based on 4.1.1?
Thanks.

Did you try with Xluco's kernel ? it has written to have the ability to support Wii Controller ( If it worked , let me know , because I'm cooking Prime V5 and It's also going to have the Wii Controller support too ) .. I'm waiting eagerly for you'r results

I'm gonna sound like a noob. But to be honest kernels are the things I never screwed with. Do i just flash this with twrp?
It's got the rooted 5.1.1 fw on it and just to clarify it's the SP600
I've got everything I need here (including the Kernel I downloaded) at work so.....
Okay so I flashed the kernel using twrp and unfortunately the wiimotes would not connect using blue IME or the old Wiimote Controller app.
Is there something I'm missing or does it just not work for me?

So , I guess It means that the drivers are not compatible or maybe even not working at all ... If it's possible , flash a 4.4.2 TW stock ROM and try this kernel HERE ( If you're currently on 5.1.1 you need to flash a stock ROM using Odin ) ... this kernel I provide you is one of Xluco's KK kernels ... I'll wait for you'r results then ... Good luck

Re did everything. Installed 4.4.2 and the kernel you mentioned and it still does not work with either application.
Error: bt socket connection failed
Is there a difference between stock and TW stock cuz I installed fresh stock then rooted it and installed that kernel
Regardless of whether TW stock is TouchWiz
I installed a 4.4.2 TW stock rom with root and installed the same kernel. Still nothing.
I don't know what I'm talking about here but is it really this difficult? I'm know it is to some degree, but how has this not been rectified a million times over?
Lost cause then?
Thanks to everyone who accomplishes these things and a massive thanks to the people who make the things we use to do these things...lol

Well , I'm Sorry to say that but , I guess there's no solution for getting the Wiimote to work on you're TAB ( Actually , XBOX & PS remotes are all accepted with Xluco's or even my kernel ) But , as you can see in many other threads , It seems like currently there's no way ... Don't worry MAN , I personally don't have a Wiimote let's just take it easy ... just enjoy the latest TW ROM with Prime V4 ( actually , V5 is in it's way !! )

Well damn. I guess I'll just have to use my note 2 with the tv out.....no sound though.
Thanks. And I'll definitely install they new prime v5

Hello ,
Yes , stock works , also CM13 and Slim6 rom kernels detect hdmi slimport ,but it do not works .
I read it can be cause of hardware/qcom/display but I'm not sure.
I did a app that use SurfaceFlinger to display on external hdmi ,on stock works but on Slim6 do not work ,but kernel detect it so it is not kernel ...
Personally tried to run hdmi out on a stock H815 and CM13, neither worked at all, didn't even recognise the cable was plugged it.

I still hope there will be a super hero who will fix hdmi out for h815 in CM .
I have very good slimport hdmi support also on stock rom and also on a stock based rom . But the problem is that I can not compile stuff into this roms .I need to make some changes to the framework ....
