[CDMA][Radio][Bootloader]4.0.4 IMM76K Radios and Bootloader - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I pulled the patched radio.img from my phone after updating from 4.0.2 to 4.0.4IMM76K. This file should work coming from any radio as it includes the full radio.img, not just the radio.img.p that is in the update from google. I do seem to get a 4G signal where I previously only got a 3G signal (ie in my basement). The .zip includes radio.img, radio-cdma.img, and bootloader.img.
It must be flashed through a custom recovery, fastboot will not work for the LTE radio.
It flashed fine on my phone, but I'm not responsible for any problems you may have .
Thanks to SpringRush for posting the google link to the update and krazie1 for the logcats that got the filename and probably helped find said link.

Flash with whatever custom recovery you want. You don't need to wipe anything as far as I know. If you want to, it won't hurt anything other than use up a bit more of your time .

Since the latest liquid rom and kernel probably does not include a radio image or bootloader.img, then I would say you're fine. That's the reason I pulled the patched radio.img and made this thread. It's just the radios and bootloader from the newest update. Generally, custom ROMs do not include radios or bootloaders.

How's the battery looking so far? Lol

Worked for me!

Will we be able to flash okay radios over this if it turns out worse. Also, why do we need the new bootloader? Will this effect anything going forward?

Worked fine over aokp m5 with stock faux kernel which I didn't expect any problems seeing how they aren't included in custom roms...slightly worse than the leaked 4.0.4 radio was getting -89dBm 51asu now getting 93dBm 47asu. Haven't tested much though that's just signal strength not hand off or anything also that was on 4g.

Why is there one out there with. .10 and yours is .09

You can flash whatever radios you want as long as they are the full radios and not a .zip containing a radio patch in it. I don't know why the bootloader would affect anything. It's a nexus phone. It's not like we needed some hole to unlock our phones. fastboot oem unlock should always unlock a nexus as far as I know. I just made this .zip based off of other leaked radio threads, and they included the bootloader in 2 out of 3, so I figured 'why not' .

That's a hardware version of the phone and won't change by flashing something...at least from everything I've read. I think there's a pretty big thread about it in the Q&A, but it's pretty old and probably buried.
adrynalyne posted a lot in it if I remember correctly.
And here you go, a nice 20 page thread to read if you want

Hm, for those that have flashed this, I would compare your about screens to reflect the radios shown here. I pulled the radio images out of your zip (both .img files) and tried to flash them in fastboot. The LTE radio (radio.img) failed to write and I believe it's because in the original 4.0.4 update zip it's an img.p file, or a patch to go on top of 4.0.2 radios. So, if I had to guess, your zip is flashing only the CDMA radio and the LTE radio isn't being properly flashed for those running anything but the LTE radio that came with the 4.0.2, if that at all. Just a word of caution.

[Q] concerning the recently leaked radios

I just saw that the official gb rom for the evo was leaked with some radios, im currently running cm7 and am curious as if updating my radios to the new ones would be safe and possibly produce better signal?
radios and leak information can be found here(XDA):

I have not tested it but if someone could tell me how to flash a radio i wont mind testing it myself

Search in the thread for.the leaked gingerbread rom. There is a flashsble zip somewhere in there. Just flash it in recovery, and expect to see some different screens while.it flashes, so don't panic and pull battery. I flashed the radio image last night, and haven't noticed any improvement.

So the zip file that includes the entire rom does not include the radio? Do you have any idea on what page the radios are? I was trying to keep up with the thread yesterday but it was moving fast as hell....by the time I got to work this morning, it had well over 100 pages.
Edit: I'm downloading TMartin's rooted rom now to try it, but the mirrors are slow. I don't know what's inside the rom yet.
Have you tried this radio with the 1.90 PRI? I see you still have the 1.77 PRI in your set up.

The radios are not in Tmartins rom. I think it was around page 50 - 54 that Barnacles posted the radio.img, which needs to be flashed in fastboot. then shortly after his post, someone posted the flashable zip. And you wont have any issues being on PRI 1.90, other people posted screens with that setup.

[Tips] How to switch build from yakjuzs to yakju

Hi guys, I helped my friend switch build from yakjuzs to yakju after I found the following info:
So you found yourself with the yakjuwx build. In order to switch, you’ll have to wipe your device so backup any important data. Luckily it isn’t necessary to root your Nexus because it has an unlockable bootloader. You simply need to have fastboot on your PC (which is included in the Android SDK). Using fastboot on your PC you can easily OEM unlock the device and flash the desired images. Be forewarned, OEM Unlock voids your warranty and neither I nor TalkAndroid can say definitively that flashing the yakju build over a previous yakjuwx build will do no harm, however Luxferro was able to make the transition successfully.
All you need to do is grab the factory image from Google.
Assuming you have already OEM unlocked the device simply type
fastboot -w update image-yakju-itl41f.zip
in your console and you should be all set, back on Google’s update track.
Source: http://www.talkandroid.com/78377-ne...ht-are-your-updates-from-google/#.Tw5FtKX9M29
Note:
Luxferro said:
I bit the bullet and just flashed the 4.0.1 (ITL41F) factory image. It was easy enough if you have fastboot installed and working, and you phone unlocked.
Just grab the Factory Image yakju-itl41f-factory-192e5c67.tgz from google
http://code.google.com/android/nexus/images.html
open the file with you zip program (i use 7-zip), pull out the image-yakju-itl41f.zip file. Then all you need to do is
Code:
fastboot -w update image-yakju-itl41f.zip
You don't need to bother with the other files in the package cause you already have latest bootloader, and radio. This will wipe your whole phone, so backup if you need to.

Have you received firmware updates yet from Samsung?
Do you see the latest firmware update (Android 4.0.2) for your build at http://code.google.com/android/nexus/images.html#yakjuitl41f ?
Do you feel left out because you are on a Samsung build and cannot wait for Samsung to release the firmware update for your build?
Do you envy your Google build Galaxy Nexus friends who now are running Android 4.0.2 which comes with the necessary bug fixes?
Confused on how you tell what build you have in the first place

YES! I was fortunate that my Galaxy Nexus came with the Google Build.
And updated mine to Android 4.0.2 when I came across the following article on the 17 Dec 2011
http://www.androidcentral.com/how-manually-update-your-gsm-galaxy-nexus-android-402-ota
So if you cannot wait for Samsung to take their own sweet time to release the update over the air, and if getting the update as soon as possible matters to you, then YES.. go for it!
Howdy. Quick question: Does this cause you to lose root? I would think so, since the superuser.apk isn't included in the yakju file.
My Gnex is rooted and unlocked, and i don't want to mess it up.

I'm a little confused and was wondering if someone could confirm that it's safe for me to flash this. If I restore my nandroid backup of the stock 4.0.2 rom I have, it's ok to flash this? [CDMA][Radio][Bootloader]4.0.2 to 4.0.4 Radio patches and bootloader

Ok, so this is a installer for clockwork recovery for the 4.0.4 radios and bootloader. This has ONLY been tested coming from 4.0.2. 4.0.3 radios and bootloaders MAY have issues. I don't advise you even consider it. This will work on stock 4.0.x, and even aosp builds.

Try booting into the bootloader and see.
If the OS booted up though, I'm 99% sure everything's all right.
I flashed the 4.03 radios in CWR and did a bootloader upgrade separately in fastboot. So we need to flash the 4.02 radio in CWR and flash the 4.02 bootloader in fastboot before attemepting the 4.04 upgrade - right? Or use fast boot to flash the bootloader and individual radios?
Im at work currently taking a shiit and just downloaded the new radio. I work for verizon and have two repeaters in the store and currently is only showing two bars of reception. Ill report back in a few minutes once the new radio is flashed.

1. Download 4.0.2 official radios/bootloader here
2. Flash with CWM, then verify your bootloader version is PRIMEKJ10 (or something like PRIMEK)
3. Flash the new radios with CWM
4. Reboot, enjoy!
Just flashed a nexus from 4.0.2 and one from 4.0.3, both updated no problem. Will report back if the radios appear to work any better.
Both phones were having reception issues before, both on seperate radios.

i havent really looked into whether or not Root is available for E.
Is there a difference?
Not as is but if you use Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper on D and update to E, root is maintained.

I may lookinto that a little later.
I just ran into a BIG issue with this ROM. It flashes fine but not changes are made :S ill be sure to fix it and have it uploaded ASAP
Care to share which bloatware apps have been weeded out?
Thank you for your efforts! Will be following..
I'm going up north to blue mountain for new years. Thought I could have this uploaded before I left but these issues have stopped me from releasing it. I should have it once I'm back home. Sorry for the wait guys. I know how it feels.
Im hoping to see something like this for the E973 soon. Really, if you changed the modem to our LTE frequencies, we should be good.
Just a quick update. I have been having issues with pulling the boot.img for the E971. Seeing how no one has really been able to pull it, i think after 3 days i finally got it
now to package and sign and then test but that will be after work tommorow. Its 4 am, time to get 6 hours of sleep!
Glad to see something is coming for the e971. I was just about to flash The Base rom for the e970 and cross my fingers it worked.

i had initially did just that...but nothing took effect when you flashed the ROM and went through Aroma. Plus, if you wiped Cach and w.e options it gives you, the device doesnt boot :/
I have gotten my Rom to flash with no errors in CWM but it stays in a bootloop :/
Took me 3 days to figure out how to flash this damn thing.
If you haven't noticed, AT&T version has some custom ROMs going on for their Optimus G. Maybe you can ask them for help, or take apart their ROMs and compare or something? I dunno.. Not good with development but I'd like to help in the best way I can.

I did exactly just that, but non of their ROM's flash on our devices. Plus, Their mount pointers for system, boot, etc..are totally different. I think i just pulled the wrong boot.img. Now that i have the updater script working just fine and know the pointers ill pull the boot.img from there and that should fix it.
