Not to offend, but how can we do cheat when in fact the game itself isn't stable for our devices?

Forget stable, the game is intolerable on our device as of now. Badly optimized for most devices and all their fix included was spelling mistakes and some FC errors.

[NES / XNA] Super smooth NES-Emulator

After surfing at XDA i saw this thread about NES emulator found (here) and tried it out, but soon discovered it fps'ed slow, so i created another clone of from another engine "SharpNES".
The SharpNES actualy runs faster without fps hack i did (2 CPU update, 1 CPU Draw) and gain enormous speed.
No sound (like the other one that i know of)
Only one game (Super Mario Bros 3)...
No save
XNA is hard to make a GUI as advanced as Silverlight so no game-change or save
Well i hope you like it
__ Zip in attatch -> rename as ".xap" and deploy
*edit - added source (forgot)
Wow runs very nice!
good job mate
Good!
Great job! It's amazing!
Oh man, you gotta keep working on this; this is fantastic.
Have to say, great job. No slowdown at all. Are you going to continue to develop this or collaborate with some of the other devs working on NES emulators?
I can't wait till there's a final version. Zelda needs another visit!
I will continue for this project, but this was a small in between job because i could not stand the other emulator (just freaked me out, making my brain explode of all the lagg). My cause of small pause is that im developing a real marketplace app at the time so thats priority 1, although im 75% done with that, later i will update (if not anyone wants to provide an UI under the time).
Zelda, yes, for those that have VS2010 can just recompile it with ".nes" file of any game and change "LoadCart( ... ) in UpdateMenu()", although tested zelda and it runs fast ... slow ... fast ... slow ?!?!
"Are you going to continue to develop this or collaborate with some of the other devs working on NES emulators?"
> Just doing what i like most, dev in Wp7
I wouldn't mind helping with the graphics. I used to use photoshop quite extensively until I stopped for awhile. I'm not sure how the developer tools for WP7 handles certain images (or calls for them I should say), but I can help if need be. I created some graphics for the Gameboy Color emulator on the Zune HD. I get ****loads of homework so I can't commit to doing a lot though.
"I get ****loads of homework so I can't commit to doing a lot though."
Sure, me to :/ Just 17 so.. that makes me go to school + programming..
But as i said, got a priority 1 app that i will sell @ marketplace, so this will wait a while. sry.
Glad u asked.
what the frick... I cant for the life of me change the file format from .zip to .xap.... I'm using windows 7 and I have winrar installed.. no matter what I do it stays as a .zip file... any advice here guys? Can someone just upload the .xap file?
This is ridiculous... I feel like I'm retarded haha

Un yeah. U need to make file extensions visible by pressing [Alt] in the directory and go [Tools] > [Folder Options] > [View] > [Hide extensions from known files], then ur good to go and rename it.

nice work! but im liking tuskas better. maybe contact him and join forces
i cant exit the game using the back button either lol
I 2nd that I can't exit the game. Just have to use the windows button to get the start menu.
Yes, the back button, i used that as [Select] and [Start] button when navigating the emulator without touch navigation (early stages). Probably forgot to delete that code =/
Good ur saying.
About Tuskas, will see how much free time i have, very "real life" busy right now.
Thanks! This is a great first step.
This is an awesome app. I guess the only problem that I have with it is that the controls are at the top thus my hands tend to block much of the screen during game time. Other than that it is amazing...no lag either!
My HTC HD7 isn't unlocked yet so how do i sync/copy the files to my phone?
Do i need my HTC HD7 unlocked to run emulators etc?

The only way to run this emulator on your phone is through side-loading. In order to do with you WILL have to unlock you phone using ChervronWP7 unlocker. There is no other way to run this app. You cant just sync/copy the files to your phone. As of right now its pretty much going to be a hit or miss when you try to unlock your phone. I have two HD7s and I had no problem unlocking either of them. Good luck!

[GAME][FREE] Attap!

Hello everybody.
This is my first post and the game in the title is my first free videogame for WP7 .
I have to admit it has a really simple gameplay: you have just to frenetically tap the lightning and the fire in order to kill the enemies runnnig on the bottom of the screen... The more you kill, the more you unlock special abilities (from the "I love killing all menu").
Since I developed it only using the emulator because I do not own a WP7 device, (!!!) I probably made some mistakes... In fact 3 users on the marketplace left their bad comments about Attap!, saying it "sucks"... because it crashes!
But I think it is only a question of waiting 'til all the textures are loaded, after clicking on "New game-->Easy | Medium | Hard" (maybe this process takes more than 5 secs, I don't know).
I would be very grateful if you could try Attap! and tell me:
-if it crashes (wp7 device, language used)
-how much the loading process take after tapping on "new game --> | easy | medium | hard"
-if the "small shock" is visible when you tap on the lightning and there is no target under the lightning itself
-if it is difficult to move the lightning and fire
Thank you.
Tested in HD7 crashes most of the time when game over
tapped easy normal and hard it took 22sec to load in each (it looked like it was froze but it wasnt it was loading aparently)
if no target under the ligntning shows a small shock
it was difficult to move (the fire and the lightning get stuck havent managed to make them get stuck in normal or hard)
attached a screenshot of the lightning and the fire stuck together
Moving this to WP7 Software Development for now.
-if it crashes (wp7 device, language used)
Yes, Optimus 7, English
-how much the loading process take after tapping on "new game --> | easy | medium | hard"
Very long for all
-if the "small shock" is visible when you tap on the lightning and there is no target under the lightning itself
Yes
-if it is difficult to move the lightning and fire
Extremely.

Uhm, it's in the marketplace.
First of all: thanks for your bug reports.
I assure you I had not ever experienced those problems (neither crash, neither fire & lightning get stuck).
The very strange fact is that game loading takes different times depending on the device you are playing it.
I've made un update, and another one is still coming to improve game's speed:
-added loading screen
-the two nature defenders now are more reactive to player’s finger
-fire defender shoots faster
-game loads faster
I would appreciate if you could give me more feedback.
Thank you.
Did anyone downloaded the updated version?
Thanks.
Here's some feedback. Go buy a phone.
While its good that you are trying to create something developing for the emulator frequently gives you a totally different experience than on an actual device.
The marketplace is NOT a place to debug your apps/games. Filling it with buggy software whether its free or not is plain wrong.
astromex, I completely agree with you, but this was the product of a C# & XNA course at my University. It's not my fault: we had no phone to test it and all I could test was the MS emulator.
Btw, did you try the game?

Would you please be more precise about when it crashes?
I think it's something connected to the save of the gamestate.
Meanwhile I resolved the loading problem, the game has been updated.
Moreover, lightning and fire do not get stuck anymore.

There's an Xbox Live game called Spider Jack that is similar to Cut the Rope. Costs $2.99. Also you can play a HTML5 browser version of CTR for free, by going to http://www.cuttherope.ie (not sure if it works on WP7 or not)
You might want to narrow the list to top apps or most wanted apps.
Microsoft stated they would bring the top apps by the 2nd quarter. I think I read that.

I don't believe nicksti asked for advice on how to run the thread.
Please provide a link where Microsoft stated they would bring the top apps. Clearly they are not in control of third party software. There is no need for you to try to create trouble here. If you can not find a credible link stating that, please edit your post and remove the comment. It is clearly an attempt by you to discredit Microsoft and Windows Phone 7 with false information.

It does work although it takes a little to load and you also have to go into options and change to click to cut because drag will scroll you left and right. I've played it before and was surprized to see it in a post here.

I had put popular apps which I figured would mean most downloaded or top apps. So I bolded it now for emphasis. You have a good point though, because I would not want this to be a wall of any and every app.

My apologies for sounding rude or making a suggestion. You can clearly name thousands of missing apps, that's why i suggested naming most wanted. Sorry if that creates trouble.
I think I read that information on this site.
Anyway I can't post here since I'm not allowed.

Posting here to say that you are not allowed to post here? I do welcome the suggestion. Beyond the missing apps, I could name thousands of app that are present as well, but I do agree the exercise is to make a list of the most popular/downloaded/desireable apps.
This really all came about after reading posts with people complaining about missing features and apps. I wanted to get a sense of what is missing from an app perspective so people can be more informed about making a Windows Phone purchase.
Honestly, from a mass market consumption standpoint, the only thing I see missing right now is Skype (and that is coming).
Any more popular apps that I am missing?
Are we not counting the third party apps/ clients that do the same thing as the official apps?
If so, probably the title should say 'official apps' comparison?

Looked at another way, the addition to Skype to the Windows Phone apps market will help Microsoft "bridge the gap in top apps" between Windows Phone and the competition, and the overall goal is to ensure that all "top 25 apps" (from both iOS and Android) will be available on Windows Phone before the end of the first half of 2012. And Microsoft is also investing tens of millions of dollars over three years to promote competitors of key apps that will never, for whatever reason, be ported to Windows Phone. Pandora is cited as an example, alarmingly.

I just looked at my iPhone for the top 25 apps (each costs $0.99 on the iPhone except camera plus, which is $1.99):
1. Where's my Water
2. Scrabble with Friends
3. Fruit Ninja - WP ($2.99)
4. Words with Friends
5. Angry Birds - WP ($2.99)
6. NFL Kicker
7. Angry Birds Seasons
8. Paper Monsters

12. WhatsApp Messenger - WP (FREE)
13. Angry birds Rio
14. Bejeweled - WP (Bejeweled Live $4.99)
15. Doodle Jump - WP ($2.99)
16. Free Music Download Pro Plus - WP (Free Music downloader FREE)
17. Battery Boost
18. The Game of Life
19. Evi
20. TETRIS - WP (by $4.99 - Tetris7 FREE)
21. Pimp Your Screen
22. Reel Steel
23. NBA JAM by EA SPORTS
24. Color Texting for iMessages
25. Tiny Wings
Pandora and Skype don't even make the list.
My guess it that Microsoft uses a different top 25 list.
In any case, I marked the ones that are available on Windows Phone and included the price in the Windows Phone Marketplace.
The iPhone App Store does let you list the top and top free for each category as well.
Guessing the Social Networking category would be the most important, then maybe music.

There is another article somewhere talking about Pandora won't even be bothered to officially come to WP until Apollo. So Pandora - we definitely are using the clients even after Apollo sadly. But my feeling based on current rumours is - Skype app around Tango and Skype integration in Apollo to say the least!
Pimp my screen, Battery Boost, Tiny Wings, Color Texting for iMessages (obviously) are iOS only correct?
I am trying to compile a list that would be cross-platform. Would not want to include Android only or iOS only software.

[GUIDE] How to gain coins faster in Small Street

Hello. While going through General section, I found a post regarding free coins in Temple Run. I had plenty such cheats and tricks for many games. So I am posting one of "MY OWN" trick for the game Small Street which is available for free in market.
WARNING - This trick can cause many undesirable problems, both, on your device and on the game. For example while applying cheat your status bars top part may be seen but the part below be invisible. Or the graphics stop working but they start to work fine automatically. None of the problems will act as a risk to your device but if it does, I am not responsible. Nothing as such happened with me.
Now lets start -
What you require -
Your device
Temple Run Free(Paid will also do)
Now here are the instructions -
Before opening game, go to Settings > Date and Time
Un-tick "Use Network Provided Values"
Put in your countries Standard Time.
Set time to 00:00 or 01:00 (Or whatever you prefer)
Open the game.
Now make some money by opening business and end the tutorial.
After the tutorial is over, have upto 4 or 5 buildings.
Minimize the game by pressing Home button.
Now open Settings > Date and Time.
"Set Time" and increase the amount of minute or hours you want.
Now open the game again (There might be a Notification)
There will be a message saying "While you were away, you earned.....".
Remember, when you enter 23:00 (in 24 hours mode) or put 11:00 (in 12 hours mode), always remember, never do 24:00 or the time will go back instead of front. And then you won't earn money and your businesses will take a lot of time.
After you are done playing and want to watch original time, first note the time and date on paper. Then tick use network provided values.
And when you want to play again, put in those date and time in the Settings > Date and Time.
And finally, "PRESS THANKS"!
Cheats for a game? Seriously? I thought you were doing some ROM development or something.

[Updated] Cool Apps and Games for Ace

Like every device has this now just thought I'd bring it over to help out my armv6ers lol anyways these were all tested on my SGY how u like them
1.Requires root: SD Maid Next 1 can free up your memory
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.thedarken.sdm
2.7zipper- You can use to decompress 7z files (ps1games are usually compressed liked this) fpse won't play the games in this format so you need to decompress them you can just use a pc but if you don't have 1 and own a ps1 game this is a great tool https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.joa.zipperplus7
3.Multi Picture Live Wallpaper- great live wallpaper that allows you to set various a wallpapers per homescreen it has many customisation features to many to list here
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.tamanegi.wallpaper.multipicture
4.Scan Media-simply runs the phones media scanner which I was astonished that really the only way to do this (at least with my phone) was by unmounting and remounting the sd card you have to do this sometimes especially if u download something after you turn on your phone some applications won't find the media unless you do this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dcd.scanmedia
5.Easy Downloader- it speeds up downloads and can be used to download videos
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.et.easy.download
6.Utorrent- from the same people who made the PC version also who invented the protocol anyways it can be used to download torrents directly from your phone it is the only torrent app I used that actually works on my phone
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.utorrent.client
7. Admin Edit: Warez not allowed!!!
8.Requires root: Links2sd- a must have it can be used for uninstalling system apps moving apps to system memory it makes every app able to move to the sd card it can do lots of things
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.buak.Link2SD
9.Mx Player- it is the best video player I've used great if your having problems playing videos and a million times better than the system player
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mxtech.videoplayer.ad
10.Tiger Arcade- it can be used to emulate mame and neo geo games it can also be used for cps1 and 2 and d mame also you'll need a bios file called neo geo.zip to emulate neo geo games (Google it) anyways this is the free version in order to enable saving you'll need to buy it anyways this app isn't on the play store anymore so I put it on drop box
http://db.tt/xDIi4eUO
11.Whatsapp- if you don't have it WTH r u waiting for best instant messaging app on android it's cross platform (android IOS BlackBerry Windows etc) lots of features is just great
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.whatsapp
12.Voxer- it's a PTT (push to talk) app basically kinda like a walkie talkie you basically hold down a button start talking and that's your friend receives it and the cycle continues no more need to type that's old school lol
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rebelvox.voxer

Members tend to hate people who are addicted to thanks, don't ask for it, earn it. If you ask, more and more will NOT give a thanks to you because of all the nagging. If they feel you deserve a thanks they will give it to you.
WE WON'T FORGET THE THANKS BUTTON!!
