Dear All,
How can I add more and new widgets to the Galaxy Nexus,
There is no option for adding new and more widgets,
Thanks,
If you mean standard and installed widgets.
In the main app menu (app drawer) up the top is an apps tab and a widgets tab, press that. Or just continue scrolling right when you are at the end of your app list, it will enter widgets menu
Hope that helps

You should be able to, they are located with the stock widgets. What happens when you try to add them?
Using a custom ROM? Custom launcher?

Your new downloaded widgets are going to be in the Widget's section of the app drawer at the top, mixed in with the standard widgets. They will not appear anywhere else.

Anyone has the apk for the calendar widget that's included with the Sprint SGSIIET4G? I'm referring to the one where it shows the monthly view on the upper half of the screen and the most recent event on the bottom half of the screen.
Even with TW launcher running, I can't seem to find it listed on the widgets list. Thanks in advance!

Should be the Email Widget in system -> app. The widget in the lists is named "Month", so it's a bit misleading. If you still don't have it, I'll rip the apk and odex for you.
Edit, added it for reference.

Do I unzip this to /system/app/ ??? I did that and when I tried ti install the .apk, it says it can't install. After unzipping, I also went to my widgets list and the MONTH widget does not show up either.

OK, I'm not entirely sure, because I usually delete the stock stuff and don't reinstall it. I don't know if this will work, but go to your home screen, Menu-> Settings -> Applications and check "Unknown Sources", then try installing the widget from data/app, or just the SD card.

Got it working! I had TW 4.5 installed, so I went to the TW4 Manager app and installed the widgets from there. All is good now! Thanks!

Hey guys is there a way I can have a different wallpaper for the lockscreen than that of the homescreen? I know there was an option for this on the GSII under settings/ display, but I can't seem to find a solution for the GNex. Thanks in advance

That feature is not available on stock Android.

Only thing I can think of is WidgetLocker
an app called multi-picture live wallpaper can do this for you:
https://market.android.com/details?id=org.tamanegi.wallpaper.multipicture
it allows you to have a different wallpaper for various home screens and also lets you choose one for the lockscreen. I personally use the same wallpaper for each homescreen, so this app is just giving me a custom lock wallpaper.
Might be preferable over widgetlocker if you don't want to add any widgets to your lockscreen and prefer a stock feel.
Hi all,
I am looking to customise my Google Nexus 7 theme but one thing I find very frustrating is the widgets push one another about.
Is anyone able to advise of an app that allows them to overlap/be put where I want?
Thanks
Try Nova launcher
+1, Nova Launcher allow this to ahppen, even allows you too place them onto when your adding a widget to homescreens.

I use ssLauncher as it allows complete control over placement and lots more.

What widgets look great on the Nexus 7? Please share your finds here. Cheers!

Widgetsoid2 widgets - very configurable, use background from your gallery for contacts.
Gasks - nice scrollable one for agenda and tasks.
N7 Player
Any Go Launcher shortcut - replace with any png image.
Excellent, thanks!
Does anyone know if there is a Whatsapp widget for counting unread messages?

I use HD Widgets for time and weather. I have the paid version. Not sure what the free one is like.

I use GO Launcher and GO Notifications for unread count. You have to search for the Go Notifications apk since the Play store says not compatible. I can confirm it works with Gmail and K9.

I have downloaded and installed the apk but I can find no sign of it anywhere. Could you tell me where to look for it? Thanks!
Edit: What I mean is that I don't get the option to open the file after install. Where did you find your apk?

I'm kind of partial to the widgets below:
Weathereye (having issues at the moment): http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.citc.weather&feature=nav_result#
Minimalistic Text: http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.devmil.minimaltext&feature=search_result#
Flipboard: http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=flipboard.app&feature=search_result#
Power toggles: http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.painless.pc&feature=search_result#
Simple Calendar: http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.anod.calendar&feature=search_result#
If you want to see what it looks like check the post your home screen thread here.
UCCW - most customizable clock/weather/whatever widget available, check XDA main Themes forum for UCCW thread with 100s of themes
Minimal Reader - for news
Jorte - for Calendar
I use AOKP so no need for power toggles since they are in the dropdown...
Beautiful widgets has a nice selection of weather widgets.
You talkin' to me? GO notify is part of the GO app. If you hit settings and scroll to the right, you'll see notifications (after you installed the apk), click it and lets you set notifications for various things. It's not an app or widget, but does show up in system apps list.

If only they would fix the dynamic sizing option in their 4x1 weather. Using it at the moment until weathereye gets sorted. /rant
Another vote for power toggles here. Works well with the default theme (appearance wise)

I am creating my personal theme with Zooper Pro and Nova launcher.
There is one thing i can't find how to do it. I'd like to add a shortcut to the app drawer (of Nova) as an onTap-action for my widget.
The reason for this is that i'd like to get rid of the Nova dock.
How can i do this?
Hi,
Choose Nova Launcher from Shortcuts, you are then presented with a list of Nova actions, App Drawer being one of them.
Regards Mark.

Sorry to hijack but can this feature be done with Themer launcher? I keep looking in the list of shortcuts but for the life of me I cant seem to find how to do it.

Thanks a lot. Works like a charm now.
I didn't know you get more options when you choose Nova launcher in shortcuts.
@jonnyg1097,
Doesn't Themer use widgets from Zooper to combine them into a theme? Maybe you can add a Zooper widget to your theme.
