[Q] SGS2 Clock+Weather Widget

I just tried to install the SGS2 clock widget and also the Weather widget, but when I tried installing them i kept on getting this message:"Application not installed". I then tried moving it to system/app and it couldn't be moved. Any suggestions?

What did you uss to try to move it? You neex something like root explorer and click the upper corner to change it r/w.

I don't have root explorer, I really don't want to pay for it. Is there anything else I can use?

ES file explorer. Then go to the bottom of the settings and enable root explorer and system mount options.

Ok, so I moved the two apk's to system/app and when I went to widgets, none of the two widgets appeared. I then rebooted my phone but it still didn't show up.

What launcher are you using? It may need touchwiz launcher.

If it is a Samsung Touchwiz app then forget it. You are on an AOSP ROM.

Have you looked at Beautiful Widgets on the market? It's skinable, super customizable, and has a clock/weather widget that is similar to what you are describing.

I looked at that and I really like those widgets, but I rather not pay for apps.

Go launcher not showing stock s3 weather widget

Guys i installed go launcher and i like it very much
But yhe thing is it doesbt show up stock weather widget
When i turn off go launcher and use touchwiz the weather widget is there and in go launcher it doesnt show up

This widget needs Touchwiz Framework and Touchwiz Launcher to work. That's the reason why it doesn't work on any other launcher.

This is common among devices with proprietory uis

Sorry, but it does work on the SGS2 with Go Launcher. Are you sure we cant make it work on the SGS3?

Since you already use go launcher, why not try go weather ex from the market? I haven't used it myself, but it looks promising.

I know the feeling. Its a beautiful widget but it doesnt work on Go, Apex or Nova etc. I have tried. There may be a way but so far not broken.

Guys, I'm telling you I have it working on an S2. Here's the screen capture, you can see the widget above and the left-button Go Launcher menu at the bottom.
There's got to be a way to make it work on the S3.

What works on your s2 is irrelevant. Its most likely an updated version on your s3 with new code, probably specifically designed only to work with touchwiz. If it doesn't show up in go launcher then it doesn't work. Its as simple as that

That is old Accuweather widget, the new S3 version won't work with any others launcher at the moment.

Ok, so -for the moment- could someone post the S2 version of the widget apk? That would solve the problem, wouldn't it?

It depends. Did that widget work on other devices such as HTC? If yes, then yes. If no then maybe not.
Download a s2 touchwiz custom rom and extract the apk to find out

OP ask for S3 Accuweather widget not S2 Accuweather widget, both is different. S2 Accuweather widget is so ugly compare with this new S3 one.
I do hoping someone can make the S3 Accuweather working for launcher others than stock TouchWiz.

Fancy widgets is my preferred option even over beautiful widgets.

S3 widget is nicer, but I'd settle for the S2 one. For the moment.

Try "beautiful widgets" it's a highly customizable weather widget.

It's already in system/app. How do I start it? If I tap the apk directly, it just tries to install itself.

Everyone who keeps naming all these launchers that are already known must not have seen the new widget on the s3. That widget is the sole purpose I'm keeping tw launcher for now, it's visually better than any other weather widget PERIOD. Praying someone modifies this to work on other launchers

I've been using memo for days now works just fine , touchwiz launcher not possible to use . I don't no about rest of that stuff cause I don't use it ,and if he got launcher working I'd love to no how ? . OP forgot to mention permissions need be changed to even have a chance of anything working ...

You dont have to reboot. Did you add all apps or just a few. List the apps that dont work and i will try and fix them or take them off. Thx

Yes just CM10. had launcher working but now it stopped.

YW, i dont at the moment sorry.

The widgets don't seem to be working. SVoice SMemo etc are great but the digital clock and AccuWeather aren't showing up when I try to add widgets.

How did you get svoice to work? I tried just installing the apk and it's a no-go and moved it to system/app and still nothing.
Edit: After changing permissions and rebooting it loads up. But when I ask it a question it listens then force closes.

S-voice doesn't work for me

I use GO Launcher and GO Notifications for unread count. You have to search for the Go Notifications apk since the Play store says not compatible. I can confirm it works with Gmail and K9.

You talkin' to me? GO notify is part of the GO app. If you hit settings and scroll to the right, you'll see notifications (after you installed the apk), click it and lets you set notifications for various things. It's not an app or widget, but does show up in system apps list.

If only they would fix the dynamic sizing option in their 4x1 weather. Using it at the moment until weathereye gets sorted. /rant

Another vote for power toggles here. Works well with the default theme (appearance wise)

When i got my AT&T Galaxy S3, it had ICS on it as well as the stock AccuWeather.com weather widget.
With Liquidsmooth, that wisget is gone and not available on Google Play.
Is there any other way or method to get that back?? I know there are alternatives to the weather widgets out there, but I really liked the abality to scroll thru several cities quickly directly on the widget.
Maybe there is a widget with the same functionality??
I really want that widget back...

enable unknown sources on secuirity of your phone then drop it to your storage then open the apk and it shud install right there.

I got the Easy Installer app and used it to install the widget. I found three different AccuWeather APK files that I put on my internal phone SD card and tried to install them.
I get the error: X App not installed
Am I doing something wrong?!

I flashed it using CWM installed it. It looks just like the stock one. But i cant get it to add several cities and scroll those cities on the widget.
