Love the thread.
This qualifies even more the need for XDA to enable the "Wiki Post"
It would reside in the original thread, and everyone could edit it, instead of requiring one individual to update biz every day.

My calendar won't show my gmail account. And in settings\accounts when I go into accounts I don't see the option to choose a calendar. books, currents, contacts.. are all there. Just the calendar is missing.

Hmmm, what CyanogenMod version does it say in about phone?
also, how did you go about getting that version on your phone?
was it a clean flash; meaning wipe data, cache partition and dalvik
flash rom
flash gapps (this may be your issue) did you use 20120215 verison?

I can confirm that this issue is a result of not flashing the current GAPPS properly. Reboot into recovery and reflash GAPPS from the new download link.

So for an update for .03 to .04 can we get a way with:
Wipe Cache Partition
Mounts and Storage -> Format /system
Mounts and Storage -> Format /boot
Advanced -> Wipe Dalvik Cache
and finally Install ROM then gapps.
I am going through them all again. I need the calendar more than I need to make calls.

make sure you use this link
http://goo-inside.me/gapps click under MDPI where it says 20122015 and flash that zip for gapps.

okay...here is a question that has been bugging me:
What causes MMC_delayed_work wake lock? Is it just one thing or is this an Android dump for all sorts of crap? Is it 100% normal and part of the ICS experience?
I have Googled it to no end and came back with nothing concrete....signaling the fact that it is way over my head.
Even returning to stock and then flashing CM9 anew (no apps) does not make it go away.
My batt life is fine now after disabling the LED (which interestingly also reduced MMC wake lock greatly) but if I could get rid of this MMC nightmare it could be amazing.

That is the one I used. After going through all the steps again I still don't have a calendar sync option. I've even removed the account and re-added it back. I really don't want to do a factory reset because I'll probably have to chase down the Good admin for a new key.

You answered your own question....the led notification is the main reason other than the os poling the sd card for data/apps.

Yeah, after your new ROM is installed, go into the android system properties under storage and you'll notice that you're usb partition isn't completely empty, so erase all that. This way when you install gapps it's fresh.

Having to wait 5 minutes before I can edit or post is annoying....
I wanted to mention earlier to also make sure you're using the GAPPS version that was recommended with your ROM. You probably got the GAPPs from a link in the same thread where you got your ROM, but wanted to mention in it just in case you didn't.

Maybe you think I told him to wipe SD from twrp. Which is not something i said to do. Assuming he doesn't need to back anything up, what could it hurt to erase the usb storage from the storage properties?
I did it myself an hour ago after I installed JellyBean. I'm pretty sure you're wrong when you say its unnecessary. But either way, I wasn't going to take any chances with having some old shared resources screw up a fresh install.
Erasing usb storage and wiping your sdcard are one and the same a completely unecessary step. the only wipes you need to perform on a regular basis when changing a system is factory reset, cache, dalvik, and system unless there happens to be something wrong with the sdcard itself and Im pretty sure your wrong about it being a needed step someone correct me if Im wrong....

You are making several incorrect assumptions and using them as a basis for your suggestion. That's what makes it wrong. Although it is true that no real harm would be done by wiping out the /sdcard storage space, it is in fact unnecessary. Apps installed by the user get placed in /data along with all of their settings and other files they needs to operate. The /sdcard is used to store files like audio, video, books, etc. Wiping /sdcard before or after installing gapps won't make it any more "fresh" than it would be otherwise.
I've been around this forum for a while and you are the first one I can remember to advocate wiping /sdcard after a flash. While your suggestion for the OP to make sure the right gapps package for the ROM gets flashed is appropriate, I'm going to say you are off the mark with this one. It's not going to come into play when troubleshooting the youtube issue.
Please end this little side discussion as it's not pertinent to the OP.
EDIT: To the OP - I don't remember which ROM it was, but I thought I read about some video problems in one of these. Have you checked the thread to see if others are having similar problems?

[Q] CM10 Flashing GApps over old one and Sync issue

I want to flash the newer version of GApps onto my phone, do I do anything special or just recovery, install .zip, reboot? And I've been having this issue for a while now, and it's not that important, but does anyone know why my google account never stays synced? I have to resync it everytime I'm in the browser and want to access my open tabs/bookmarks from my desktop. I get a notification saying it's disabled and I have to recheck Auto-Sync each time.
P.S. Anyone still getting a System UI crash randomly? I didn't say anything while on the Nightlies, but now that theres a Stable ROM, I thought I wouldn't get anymore, but it just recently crashed again.

On a side note, if you do it wipe the cache and dalvic from cwm.

[Q] Incredible running CM7.2 "Low on space" message

My Incredible running CM7.2 keeps showing a warning in the notification bar that says "Low on space". I don't understand it, because when I click on the notification, it goes to the manage applications screen, which indicates that there are 207MB used with 541MB free internal storage, and 156MB used with 184MB free RAM.
This "Low on space" message is what prompted me to root and install CM7.2 in the first place.
Can anybody explain this to me, and give suggestions on how to fix it?

Well, I didn't, but I thought CM7.2 was supposed to fix that issue, and therefore, the problem was being caused by something else. Was I wrong?
what ROM are you running? I have found out that the Touch of Blue ROM integrates this fix already but my understanding is that others do not.

Thanks for the reply. I'm using CM7.2 (CyanogenMod 7.2).
Are you using Touch Of Blue V2.2 available from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1492720 ? Have you noticed anything not working properly with Touch Of Blue?
Does anybody else know of any other ROM that fixes this issue with the Incredible? Thanks!
its not the rom that fixes the issue, it;s the ext4 conversion and moving the data partition mod. you might be able to apply it using CWM to your installation without changing the ROM. I only mention that one because it had the fix integrated into it.
i tested it out and it worked okay but I switched to a CM10 Rom because I was still getting the dreaded 2am reboot issue. So I switched to the CM10 Rom in hopes of solving that issue.

Yes and also this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1623038 which is the main thread for the no_data_limit mods. The thread you posted is more of a guide for people who arent rooted.
The no data limit mods are very simple to use. They are just a zip file like a rom or any other mod, that you flash thru recovery. The mod then does all the work for you. Just remember to do a backup before flashing, just in case.
Thanks for all of the help everyone has provided so far!
Would it be best to start with Convert2Ext4_no_data_limit_normal_dalvik.v2.0.zip?
In what scenario would Convert2Ext4_no_data_limit_dalvik_moved.v2.0.zip be used?
(The above files are at http://goo.im/devs/tiny4579/mods )

No data limit normal dalvik is the most commonly used. It converts /cache and /data to ext4 from ext3, moves the /datadata partition to a folder on the /data partition, leaves dalvik as is.
The dalvik moved mod does the same thing except it takes the dalvik cache, and moves it to the now empty /datadata partition. This one has been known to cause issues for some people with a lot of apps, as it fills up the now tiny dalvik partition messing with and slowing down apps.
So yeah use the no data limit normal dalvik.
Ok. One final question, I hope, and I apologize for my lack of knowledge, but will flashing Convert2Ext4_no_data_limit_normal_dalvik.v2.0.zip cause me to have to reinstall all of my apps and redo the OTA (*22890) programming?

No it it wont, at least its not ment to. Like i said make sure you do a backup first. I have seen a few issues where apps dont get moved correctly, but its rare. As to the ota programing definitley wont have to do that.

It seems to have fixed it. Of course, my internal storage has been reduced to 411MB from the original 541MB because the app data, which was previously in the 149MB app data storage partition, is now using space in internal storage.
I'm now debating whether or not to try the "dalvik_moved" version of the mod so that the 149MB partition isn't just wasted space. My dalvik-cache is currently at 133MB, so I'm not sure. If anybody has any thoughts on this, I'd appreciate the input!

You can try it, but if you run out of space for dalvik it may make apps go slower. You can always revert it if you het issues.

Adobe Flash & TPR Rom Issue

To All,
First Time poster....
I've been recently flashing new custom roms, and have settled down [for now] with The People's Rom (TPR). I've flash the rom and have to say its pretty stable even OC'ing it. I am however STILL having problems getting Adobe flash to work with it.
I have installed browsers (i.e., Dolphin HD, & Chrome) and have also attempted to use the stock browser and I can not get flash to work.
Here's what I am doing:
First, I prefer to use Dolphin HD, and in the past with either the stock rom or other custom roms, I install an older version of Dolphin HD (8.51 apk version) that allows me to actually turn on flash, then I install an older of version of flash labeled "install_flash_player_ics.apk) and adobe.air (verision 3.0.0.408). This has always worked. Unfortunately with this rom, I can't for the live of me get it to work properly, I have googled and googled and have attempted different version of both flash and air and STILL no joy!
I have attempted the same process above and used Chrome and the stock browser and not can not get it to work.
As a side note, when I flashed roms, I do a full clean install and follow these steps:
Wipe Data/Factory reset x3
Wipe Cache x 3
Wipe Dalvic Cache x3
Format System
Format Data
Format Cache
Wipe Dalvic Cache
---
Install ROM
Wipe Cache & Dalvic Cache
Install Kernel (Optional)
Wipe Cache & Dalvic Cache --- (Dont need to do this if your not installing a different kernel)
Install GAPPS
Wipe Cache & Dalvic Cache
Fix Permissions
Reboot
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? Is there something I am missing?
Thanks,
Your using TPR you said? Which uses Aroma installer. During the aroma installer it gives you a choice to install your kernel of choice, it also gives you the option to install flash. It's part of the system apps. Now this is a TW rom which includes all gapps. Why on earth are you flashing kernels and gapps?
By the way questions and help request go in Q&A section. This thread will probably be moved.

Yes I am using TPR. When I used the Aroma installer, I selected the Ktoonsez kernel when I was given the choice. I dont' recall the flash option though.....
As for your comments about flashing GAPPS/Kernels, those are optional steps (as I indicated in my OP)...so in this case, I did NOT do those steps.
Should I reflash the rom again?

OK, I reflashed the TPR rom and NO WHERE did it give an option to select flash. Aroma stepped me through the install and gave me options to (1) select kernel, (2) type of launcher, and (3) install ALL apps or custom apps. With regards to the last option (3). I chose ALL apps, but just to confirm, I went into the custom apps selection drop down and it did NOT show Adobe flash as an option at all. I went ahead with the 'All' option, booted into OS and logged into google account as required and immediately launched the stock browser and attempted to load serveral flash enabled websites (like espn for example). Browser said flash was NOT installed.
I am running the latest version 3.15 of the TPR rom and I did not see the option you previously mentioned. I am I missing something? Flash NOT installed on my phone!!!
Thx

As for a bad download....I got the file via a link right here in the developer's section of this website for this rom. Do you have a verified link that you know works? If so, would you be so kind as to provide that to me?
Thanks,

No, not a bad download as in from the incorrect place. A bad download as in a corrupt file, which happens more often than you would think.
Try downloading the file again (from that same link) and check the md5sum of it against what dev-host provides. (Check the guide in my sig for how to check md5sums)

Ok just for you I went through the whole flash process, if you look clearly in this picture there's a choice for Adobe Flash Player.

Hey I am not sure what version of the rom you are using but I have the 3.15 version and I've validated its md5sum figures AFTER re-downloading the rom again from this website.
I do not have that option.....check out my video!

I've re-checked the md4sums again....all checks out with both the OPs original posting numbers and the hosting files website I was linked to.
BTW, I use an easier Windows GUI interface app called WinMD5.
Check it out @: http://www.winmd5.com/

I believe you were almost there in your video... You went to the "Customize my install" option, but stopped at the Google Apps... I believe if you select one of the google apps and then click next, it'll get you to the "Additional Apps" page that edfunkycold showed you. I can't tell from your video, but it looks like you just clicked back from the Google Apps section. I'm downloading the ROM right now to verify (30 minutes left, slow internet here at work), but that's how it was on 3.14 (the latest version I have on my SD card).

Man, if that's the case....that sure is a really really funky way to offer additional optional apps to install. NONE of the directions I've read about the installation process give you that information.....I would have NEVER figured that out if that is the case!
I will wait for you to d/l and run your install and let know if that is the case. If you notice in my video, when I select the custom apps to install, the only apps available to me are the GApps. I attempt to scroll down....I get nothing. I attempt to scroll left-to-right....I get nothing....
BTW, in the video you saw, I clicked back and installed ALL apps...so you would think Flash would be install correct???? Well each of the 4 times, I've installed and used ANY browser, various sites tell me Flash is NOT installed!
Maybe you will have some luck!

You mean within the custom menu with the GApps listing? There is no next button there...that sub-menu is limited to only GApps relates .apks. The only way to get out of that sub-meu is to hit the back page...
Are you certain that by selecting the GApps apks, that it will send you to an additional menu?
Regardless, If I selected install ALL apps, it SHOULD of installed flash....but it doesn't work!!!
Thx

No I haven't, but it's a zip so it should delete you data. You could always download it and look at the installer script to verify it doesn't.
anyone else have any other suggestion?

Since I knew you weren't going to do it, I took the 5 minutes to download the zip and look at the installer script for you. It does not wipe data. It only wipes system.
It's fun to figure out how to do things on your own.
If you're going to flash a stock rom , you might as well flash S3Rx...it's AT&T stock 4.1.2 based with a lot of enhancements.

@d3athsd00r - thanks for the clarification. i asked the question in that thread but didn't get a clear answer. and yes i wasn't aware you can tell by looking at the install script.
@EzEddie - have you used this rom? How stable is it? I looked at the change log and it seems more than what i want.
general question to everyone who's reading this thread - do you have any other suggestion for stock rom that's either 4.2 or 4.3 based? i want to have the most stable rom that doesn't burn up my battery life and snappy at the same time.
thanks all

Yes I am using this ROM and have been using ROMs by this developer since getting this phone. It is completely stable and runs better than straight stock. Yes it has a ton of features, but you don't need to use all of them. My battery life has also been great on this ROM. Read through that thread, you will see everybody agrees. Just flash it and try it. If you don't like it then flash something else.
There is no stock AT&T ROM with 4.2 or 4.3 for this phone. Your only option is an AOSP variety (cyanogenmod, aokp, etc..) Where you will lose some functionality.

hey thanks - i'm assuming this rom will wipe my internal data. does this rom has the multi window feature? i really don't want to lose my internal data.

Nothing will wipe you storage unless you make it. S3rX runs in Aroma which gives you the option to wipe Application data but won't erase the rest of your internal storage.
It is highly customizable and and includes multi window, just read the thread thoroughly and you will see what you can do.
I love S3rX and all the options it ships with by default.
i guess i wasn't clear - i meant my phone data (phone log, mms, picture, s-memo, etc...) I think when you flash rom, all of those data will be wiped. unless of course you back them up to restore later.
i will re-read the S3rX rom again. thanks

Again, ROMs won't wipe your data unless you specify it during the install. No one is going to do that because the backlash on them would be awful. You will either get the option in Aroma, or you have to manually do it in your recovery.
ok - thanks
I use SMS Backup+ to back up my phone logs and SMS/MMS to my Gmail account. Works great. Pictures are stored on your SD card and typically isn't wiped, even if you choose factory reset.

If you just want a quick SMS (no MMS) backup then look at SMS Backup & Restore. Saves SMS to .xml file.
