Which 4.0.3 ROM has best battery life ? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I am still on 4.0.2, looking to switch to a 4.0.3 ROM. Which one is best recommended for battery life and stability ? I don't care about crazy cool add on features, just want a solid phone with little to no bugs, that can handle making a ton of sales calls during the day...50 texts a day...20 emails...surf the web...post on XDA...Do all of that on a single charge.
I do have the Verizon extended battery.
Thank you

aokp + franco kernel

Every rom has awesome battery life until you start installing apps and widgets.
good day.

I am staying stock for awhile. Stock has been awesome battery life and features so far. Maybe if a rom included 32GB NAND I might switch.

[Q] Best Battery kernel Rom? CDMA Galaxy Nexus

Hi,
Just coming from my galaxy s epic 4g touch which was pretty good on battery.. I know roms and kernels could fix that issue with the galaxy nexus cdma which isn't so good..
Which of you tested out a few kernels/Roms and found great battery life when putting the galaxy through it's paces?
I actually love love the phone but the darn battery kinna sucks
Welcome . I also left Sprint and the E4GT. I love this Nexus. The 720p display is so awesome. And official ICS is a major upgrade for the Android OS.
But sadly the battery life is nowhere near what I was running with Calk's ROM + ICS theme. I could go 40 hours easily on light use. And get 12 - 14 hours on heavy days with tons of use, 5 hours display time.
I put the Nexus in the middle for battery life. My old but awesome EVO 4G sucked battery life like a vampire. With heavy use maybe 5-6 hours and light use was maybe almost a full day.
The Nexus seems to be in the middle, for sure way better than the EVO 4G, but not as good as the Galaxy SII, for battery life.
I think with ICS being so fresh, and the Nexus GPU new too, it will take a few Google updates and revised ROM's to really extend battery life close to the SII.

Get the extended battery, can maybe add 2 hours extra life. Turn off LTE if you don't need it, 4G sucks battery pretty good.
As far as ROM's + kernels, there are some really good ones out there.
- Android Revolution HD
- AOKP + Franco kernel
- Operation Code Name
Many others.

Ive tried aokp w/ stock, francos, imo
to be honest, i have not tested the IMOs fully, as an update was just released and i decided to flash with jakebites mod.
I am not a battery stats crazy guy, but i can say that both francos and imo are great so far, improvement in speed and battery life over stock.
I've heard people are getting great battery life with trinity's new kernel and if you are looking for stability, i hear its on heyitslou's defiant
I've found this list to be the most complete.

I would like to hear your feedback on your experiences also, as there are just simply not enough hours in the day to try everything, just want to try the best. hope that helps...

[POLL] Favorite ROM for the Galaxy Nexus?

This has been discussed a bit on this thread but I thought I would make a poll so we can see in numbers
If you absolutely, totally cannot settle on a favorite, pick "Can't pick a favorite" (top option).
I would vote but my rom didn't make the list pool party ftw

lol, I tried to list every ROM I knew of...you can still check other
For me the best Rom is CM9 no Akku Drain, Data Drops ....
I have to say I always keep going back to Gummy. As far as the other major players..
-I actually found Liquid to be sluggish at times mainly the toggles and wifi/data connection. Otherwise its pretty good. Waiting to see what 1.5 brings. Some people are Beta Testing
-CM9 I like it however I seem to have data issues on it. Menu list could be simplified. Battery drain. GPS/Maps
-AOKP, I just constantly get FC's no matter what I do. 5 FC's in 2 min of booting is no bueno. Again, simplified menu needed.
-BAMF was good but I want more customization
-Stock, well, it got boring.
+ Gummy just seems to be a great balance between them all. Performance, stability, and awesome battery life. I am always looking for a new ROM. I do not really have an allegiance; but I have had great luck with Gummy on my Charge, Bionic, and Gnex.
Only thing I wish Team Gummy did more of was being involved on the forums. That was one thing I really liked about DroidTheory. He was personally involved all the time almost daily. I and others just wish the Gummy Dev's chimed in more. I understand people have lives and jobs outside of creating these ROMs; but people want to feel like their devs care and communicate with them. Gummy has A BUNCH of supported devices. Maybe too many?
Still, I feel its the best all around ROM. They really do a good job and take their time.
Again just my 2 cents
Eclipse with Franco kernel..

CM9 all the way! Eagerly anticipating their milestone!
After trying slim ics, Android revolution, and Aokp. I have to say slim I is the best rom that I've had on my phone. Great performance, and decent enough battery life.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
definitely CM9, best rom ever, AOSP, clean, feature rich, stable and faaaaaast.
tried others but always come back to CM. had it on my nexus S, now have it on my GNex, it's simply the best.
Rascream by rascarlo! Fastest rom out there. Comes with a black theme too! ;-)
Can you do a poll like this for Kernels as well?
Nothing beats the Paranoid ROM. Tablet Mode ftw!
I cannot really choose a favorite. Currently, I jump between AOKP and CM9, but I could just as well flash another one if it's new and sounds nice.
Black Ice with Franco kernel ftw.

I want to say one thing. I don't like the Liquid Smooth rom. It speeds the UI up artificially and that's not what a custom rom should do on its own.

Sold off my age old milestone and got a nexus. Right now on Provision rom and franco milestone4 kernel. Disappointed with the battery backup i should say. Screen hogging up almost 70% of the battery juice. Any suggestions for rom/kernel for better battery life?

I would say that you should update to AOKP and make sure you have the right radio for your location. Also, stick with Franco Milestone.

[Q] Best Battery life Rom for GNEX (toro / verizon)

So I have been through all the big Roms the devs have to offer for the GNEX,
I have found that CNA is my personal fav. It has all the features I like, not to fancy, good performance / decent battery life....
But.
I need a ROM that is even more efficient. I get about a half day of use with most roms, with CNA I get about a day now.
I need some official collective data, WHICH IS THE BEST FOR BATTERY LIFE!?!?
Stock

Stock is most stable, smoothest and has the best battery life. Period

Am I the only one still using GB???

I have found that out of all the ROM's Ive tried, even the latest JB ones, that the ones with the best battery life and stability were Blazer and Calks 3.0. Those of which are on Gingerbread. So, am I the only one that thinks or agrees to this? I might not be "up to date" but my performance is damn good! =)
must be
What little extra battery life I'm not getting on FK23 & FL16 compared to GB is not worth all the extra goodies I would have to live without. For me GB is boring and the tradeoff is more than worth it.
Have you tried both the TW JB and the AOSP JB roms?

Haha, you're not the only one. After DD'ing Jellybean leaks for the past 25 days, I flashed back to my Calkulin nandroid backup for its awesome battery life. . I got the best Jellybean battery life on fl16 (3 hrs 45 mins) but it can't compare to the ~6 hrs on calkulin. I'm just gonna wait now for the ota Jellybean + source before I try it again.

Probably not the 'only' one. But in these parts XDA Developers you will certainly be in the minority.
By it's very nature these forums are for those looking for the latest greatest and bleeding edge technologies and tweaks.
The latest JB builds are awesome. Good battery, hotspot working natively (so far). Stable. Google Now natively. More responsiveness. Nicer looking and more customizable. I get about 14+ hours with fairyly heavy usage - my cell is my phone for work and home.
Yes these forums do provide some great stuff for the 'regular joe' but that's not what the forums are here for. We try to work together to get the most out of the devices as possible. That usually means functionalily and features 1st, performance 2nd and battery 3rd. I do know that there are some devs who may change those orders but that is usually the case.
I have always been amused by the 'how long does your battery last' crowd. While I think any phone should last at least a day with a good battery and reasonable usage I think it's silly to 'demand' more. It's 2012 get another battery (or external battery for emergencies) for backup, grab more chargers - I have one in all cars, home office work office and laptop bags.
Just my two cents.
Have you tried replacing your battery ? I just bought 2 new ones from Anker and my phone is getting better battery life and I'm running FL16 JB. I am delighted with the purchase and wish I had done it sooner. Here's link and read up on them as well.
Anker battery for D710
Good luck
Personally I use CM10 on my phone, but on my mate's phone, it's running Blazer's 4.1 GB sheerly because of the WiMax speeds. If I didn't love flashing the latest and greatest, I would've stuck with GB too.
From my experience, nothing beats calkulin's 2.8.1. I wanted to like more current roms, but even with underclocking, ics and jb chug the battery. People can ask or claim that your battery is bad. If the battery is bad then why can I get about double the battery life out of calkulin when compared to more recent roms? Same battery, twice the run time, practically no lag or noticeable performance hit. I was halfway through my second extended life battery during a normal shift at work with ics and jb when going home when I'd be around 20% with calkulin gb on the first battery. I'm not saying everyone else is wrong in their preferences, but to me, battery efficiency without noticeable CPU hit means everything. Other builds seem sluggish and battery hogs to me. Don't get me wrong, there's some cool features with new builds but the trade off of battery isn't worth it to me. It's a damned shame calkulin moved onto other pastures. He definitely knew his $hit when it came to tweaking rooms and I like his choices he took in his earlier builds with this phone.
I think if calkulin and bugless beast Pete got together, their rom would be damned near bulletproof. Peter Alfonzo.
Pacman ROM has amazing battery life for being JB. Plenty of customization tweaks as well, I used to only rock blazer 4.1 as well but some of my apps got updated and now require to be on ICS or JB based ROM.

Battery Life - AOSP vs STOCK

Hi everyone,
I come from the original i9000 Galaxy S where I loved CM, but have upgraded to the S3.
Unlike the i9000, I actually do enjoy Touchwiz on the S3 so am willing to stick with it, but wouldn't mind trying CM10.1 or AOKP 4.2 just for a change. I am aware of their bugs (ie. bluetooth), but my main concern is BATTERY LIFE.
Presently, I'm on stock (rooted) and while I enjoy stock, the battery life has been crap for me since the JB upgrade. Because of this, I am looking to switch to either a custom TW rom or something AOSP.
From your experience, is battery life better or worse for you with Custom TW roms or with AOSP? If you answer Custom TW, can you please let me know which roms you prefer?
Thanks

No one can answer this because each device is different, each person uses their device differently and each device reacts differently to different settings. I'd say just try them out.

In my experience i've gotten better battery life on Touchwiz. Noticeably better using the phone in the same way.
So far my battery has been better than stock rom.
On the same setup i have better battery on aosp roms(using task aokp)

My battery is much better on AOKP than it was on TouchWhiz, however, my wife's battery is better than mine and she's on stock TW JB. Never can tell.
I currently am using WickedV6 and the battery life is fantastic. After a normal day, I normally have roughly 50-60% battery life when going to bed. Have not attempted any AOSP Rom on the S3. On my Captivate, the AOSP Roms ate the battery. Barely got through a 12 hour day without having to recharge.
I get about 5 hrs of screen time on AOKP before my phone dies.
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Out of curiosity, are you guys all on wifi all day? I find my battery life to be ok when I'm on wifi, but unfortunately that is not an option for me at work so I am on HSPA+ all day.
Right now with new AOKP build, I am at 20% battery and my work day isnt even over yet....screen on time is only 40 minutes. I have Google Now and location services turned off, but can still barely make it through a work day with minimal screen time.
When I was on stock ICS, I remember going to be with 50% battery and 2 hrs screen time using HSPA+ all day.
