hi. i ordered the galaxy nexus from handtec.co.uk a while ago
and it arrived 2-3 weeks ago. i live in kuwait and the cost is around 207 KD shipping included.
yesterday a store called electrozan started selling it for 199 KD with one year warranty with a company called wefix (what i care about is the LOCAL warranty)
and the model is gt-I9250 and in the poster it says 4G !
is it lte 4g ?
i did a google search and many sites are saying lte 4g even gsmarena.
and i discovered my phone have dead pixels. so i talked to handtec and managed to get an approval for a refund. so i buy the phone from electrozan and get a local warranty so i don't have to ship it to the uk everytime something happens to it.
anyways ... your thoughts?
Thanks for the no replies ...

Some networks are marketing HSPA+ as 4g. HSPA+ is basically the fastest mobile data connection possible on the GSM version of the Galaxy Network.

simple as that. HSPA+ only.

yes. viva telecom has launched 4g in kuwait
+ Check it out guys... after i asked them for confirmation they sent me this link http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_nexus-4219.php
so... Bump again?
"region specific"
The gsm nexus does not have lte. you've been given the answer lots of times, and it won't change no matter how many times you bump the thread.

Again, 4G is a generic term. There are three versions of 4G out in markets now. LTE, WiMAX and HSPA+ (anything faster than 14.4Mbps). The GSM Galaxy Nexus supports 4G on HSPA+, but the I-9250 is not an LTE version and no Galaxy Nexus has WiMAX support.
thanks for the replies i get it now that they are stupid. i even asked them are you sure this is 4g and they said Yes then i asked them again " are you sure it is LTE" they said yes it is and referred me to the GSMarena link
it is sad to see stores that don't know what the hell they're talking about. i guess people who bought from them are disappointed !

Fyi, settings --> about --> status will give you your signal data. AFAIK, Verizon exists only in the US but they have Vodafone as Sister company abroad. I think Verizon is owned by the same people that own Vodafone. Don't quote me on that.
There are international LTE networks. http://www.fiercewireless.com/europ...vodafone-germany-lte-city-coverage/2011-07-01.

Vodafone has a 45% stake in Verizon Wireless, subsidiary of Verizon Communications. Vodafone still uses a GSM infrastructure though.

Made a Google+ Page to try to get AT&T to officially carry the Galaxy Nexus. I have the phone myself (unlocked) but I just want to continue showing AT&T they should bring this phone to their network.
+1 the page, add the page even comment on it. I will not be posting any type of news or updates or anything in that nature so you wouldn't have to worry about that page spamming your g+ account. I might post something once in a while just to attract more people on it if I have to. But its there to show AT&T just how many customers want the Galaxy Nexus on the network.

Don't forget about Rogers Network runs the same bands as AT&T. I thought that too but heres is what I am thinking with i9250T and I could be wrong completely but I am thinking outside the box and looking at the previous Nexus S release and how things panned out:
Rogers has already announced it is releasing the phone in January 2012.
We know that the International version runs on all GSM networks. So why wouldn't Rogers launch at some time as others in Canada? Maybe because they have a 32GB exclusive only up there and only on those bands? AT&T hasn't made any official statement that they will carry the Galaxy Nexus. Though that silent release, basically, Verizon did doesn't mean AT&T wouldn't do something like that as well.
I am looking at this as it might not come to AT&T. Look how long it took for the Nexus S to come to AT&T.
Nothing is lost from what I am trying to do. Worst thing that happens is AT&T doesn't release it and all of that was for nothing. But why not try when we, the public and customers, do not know what their plans are.
:-D

If there is no lte..... its DoA
If there is no lte in the att phone then this will be a dead on arrival. At the moment lte is not everywhere yet, but it is in my area already (Schaumburg IL- zip code 60193) and the thought of an upgrade to a new phone that I will be stuck with for at least 18 months makes no lte a huge disappointment.
Even if lte was not in my area- the massive expansion of lte would make me choose a phone with LTE for my next upgrade.
With lte using the 700mhz spectrum it is a stronger signal and better in buildings than 3G will ever be.
I oppose to your idea. I already have it on at&t btw.

With what.. three? LTE outages in the past two weeks on Verizon I don't think LTE is the killer feature you think it is. Nevermind all of the battery and signal issues people are having with several LTE phones.
Just a quick question, I will be getting the ET4G tomorrow leaving AT&T and coming to Sprint. Question I have about the ET4G is when Sprint does go LTE, and the ET4G is a 4G phone will we be able to use the LTE network on this phone? If this question has been asked before sorry, but I searched for it and couldnt find any info on it.

T-Mobile Galaxy Note II Passes Through The FCC, Is Future Proofed With LTE
http://www.tmonews.com/2012/09/t-mo...s-through-the-fcc-is-future-proofed-with-lte/
850/1900 GSM/GPRS/EDGE, 850/1700/1900 WCDMA/HSPA, Band 4 (5, 10, 15, 20 MHz), 17 LTE (5, 10 MHz).
Yup, that’s both 700 MHz for LTE roaming and 1700 MHz (T-Mobile’s AWS band) for LTE, which means only one thing — the Galaxy Note II is future proofed for T-Mobile’s LTE network, coming in 2013.
The rest of the report is under confidentiality so there isn’t a whole lot else we can discover from the FCC filings, but at this point the presence of LTE was the only unknown we had hoped to find. The rest of the Note II is pretty standard globally so we don’t expect any more surprises. To be honest, with the discovery of LTE on board, we can’t think of any better surprises.
While it’s true my excitement of LTE and future-proofing may be preliminary, the Galaxy Note II is likely to be a device many of you consider to be the best of both the tablet and smartphone world. The knowledge that the device will be ready and waiting for T-Mobile’s LTE network to go live in 2013 and won’t require a new piece of hardware is just a little bit of comfort in a world where hardware turns over far faster than our upgrade dates.
Cool...but. I'll be using my Note 3 by the time you see LTE on your Note 2

Even if it's true that T-Mobile is slow in adopting LTE, I'm still happy with their service because they are the only carrier that provide WiFi Calling. This is very important for me since no carrier has any signal inside my apartment unit, and also while travelling overseas. If not for the WiFi Calling feature built into T-Mo's phones firmware, I would have already bought the international version with or without LTE. I've been very happy with my Galaxy S3 on T-Mo without LTE, but I want the bigger screen and S-Pen. Eagerly waiting for the US launch. Only a few more days! I'm sure I'll have a Note 3 as well! Lol, I just got my S3 and I'm already looking at Note 2.

For wifi calling use Talkatone and your Gvoice account if you have limited minutes on t-mobile. It's unlimited incoming and outgoing over wifi or 3g. And you have the benefit of having a second number to give out.

I know we're all supposedly waiting for an update to the radio firmware but can't hurt to ask.
None of my friends have an LTE microsim phone.
T-mobile is pretty evil in my opinion. The galaxy s3 should get the liability to be able to connect to LTE on their network. It isn't fair that they removed LTE capability via a software update. Proof; appleandroidguide on YouTube, watch the first video and you will see
I buy my phones based on what they can do the day I buy them, not what may happen in the future. It would be nice to have the LTE option but I never really expected it despite the promises made by sales staff and customer service. I will go buy a full blown LTE phone if I feel the need.
Sorry but your wrong, the only phone T-Mobile has for sale that has the LTE capabilities is the Note II because its exactly the same as the AT&T version. If you open it up you will find out that the phone may have an LTE radio but no antenna, like the Nexus 4. And really you should but your phone on what you can do now, not down the road.

You gotta ask yourself... Do you really need it?
And if you do ( for reasons such as deeper penetration into buildings so you actually get 4g where you live or work or whatever..not just for faster 4g) then sell your s3 and buy an lte s3 or s4.

Okay how is it a scam? If you bought the phone when it came out(1yr ago) Tmobile wasn't even hinting at lte. You bought the phone with an understanding of what it was capable of. Most people aren't xda people. They don't go on forums and check out detailed specs sheets and breakdowns inquiring about possibilities of a phones hardware. Sometimes I think its a curse to have such knowledge as we know more than the Tmobile reps or any carrier reps do. The xda community is a minority. They aren't going to change anything for us. They know if people want stuff bad enough they will either leave, pay , or stay where they are at. Tmobile will not bend for you or anyone. You know how hard it was for me to get credit from them for something they did (680++$$) ??? Over a week on the phone.

Just Ranting but here !!
Come on guys Really ? Technogoloy changes so fast these days no and keep up unless you have deep pockets filled with money and still while your standing there while to pay for it a something newer faster nicer sweeter will come a few days after you buy it. This is the name of technology sales my friends. I get HSDPA+ . Sprint pushes out Samsung S3 to people telling them “ Oh it 4G and LTE soon” in the NYC area but out side of the 2-5 miles you may get 3G that’s is it sometimes and another times crap. These carriers for there not for you but for your $$$$. So that’s why I buy my T-mobile phone based on what they can do and for how long. The very fact that you can pull out the sim card and just drop it in a other T-mobile just is a plus. Is this not why we are here because after we Root our phone and we come here for what they don’t give us?
You may enjoy the speed now but think about internetwork operability and the plans to launch voice over LTE via VoIP-based technology and its a no brainer that its something you want.
Keep in mind, it may take entirely new radio technology to take advantage of VoLTE so buying an LTE phone may already be outdated by this year which, besides economic factors, is why I'm waiting to see what happens in 3Q and 4Q
http://www.extremetech.com/tag/volte
If I remember correctly, the T999 gs3 doesn't even have an LTE chip in the phone. That's what tmobile is releasing the T999L that INCLUDES the LTE radio. The OP is an idiot, and if idiots dont wanna take the time to research and learn about stuff, then they deserve every bad thing that happens.
It does have the lte chip but it isn't activated and won't be because they went a different way with lte bands.

where I would disagree is in your statement about nothing has changed. I too was told multiple times before buying the phone towards the end of the year that it was lte ready and would get it once it came out.
The phone has an LTE amplifier for 700mhz and 1700mhz bands but no modem is mentioned. I would be curious to see a teardown of the V model... Its supposed to be identical to T-Mobile from what I understand...
So it has the lte radio but not the correct one? I been reading different threads on this figuring out if i was gonna get one but don't know if i want to. What lte bands does TMobile use

Hello all. Been a long while since I've been on the forums. I've got a VZW Note 10+ (SM-N975U) that I just paid off through my carrier. However I'm going to be switching me and my family to ATT solely for better coverage reasons and a buddy of mine needs a new phone bad. I've thought it upon myself to send my Note to him however I'm not 100% sure how good the lte functionality would be for him.
He says right now in his area the only bands they honestly support are 900/1800/2400 for the 4G LTE handle. I wasn't able to find much for the LTE handles this one specifically supports which is why I'm making this post. Would my phone be compatible if I had sent it to him.?
I can send whatever screenshots necessary, this is just something that's new to me
Thanks all
