Verizon's current LTE PRL? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

the LTE PRL tier is 15XXX.
i'm currently on 15098 in downtown St. Louis.
others?

Same as yours, PRL 15098
I have also -101 dBm 35 asu (what is "asu" i see it and think of the college in Phoenix, AZ.. ) on 4G where as my dad's samsung stratosphere in the same room has -79dBm.
comparative speed tests I came out with 19MB and He got 26MB

ASU stands for Active Set Updates...it's a number that indicates the rate your device can update it's location to nearby towers.
i went from -78dBm up to -105dBm...with an asu of 35.

Is anyone aware of a way to manually change the PRL on the gnexus LTE?
reason I ask... many users are old legacy alltel users and for some reason Verizon leaves us on a different PRL that sucks compared to the full verizon one even though we're verizon customers..

I did a *22899 before I knew that you weren't supposed to do that with 4g devices, nobody at verizon felt the need to tell me I guess.
So I'm on prl 52642 and was on a 15xxx before that. Not really sure what to do here.. I still have 4g and it doesn't seem like signal was degraded at all, but it is definitely not updating automatically.

Mine had a PRL of 14008 or 14009 (I can't remember which). I am in an Alltel/VZW area. I got basically no signal for voice & data (-120dBm virtually the whole time until I got within a couple of miles of the tower). I unfortunately returned it - it is too expensive to just be a paperweight.

Mine did that too, in a place where I had zero signal, which did a nice number on my battery.

I'm 15098 here in Philly. You might be able to 'reset' it by removing the SIM (power off!), rebooting, then putting the SIM back and rebooting, other posts seem to indicate that works.

[Q] sprint slow data speeds

so i have been thinking about this a while now, my 3g speeds are between 100 kbps to 400 if i am in a very strong area and my 4g speeds are like 1-6 megs most of the time though are around 3. my buddy has 3g and he is consistantly getting 3 megs. keep in mind that is tmobile. thinking of changing to them even with a cap after they throttle my speeds i believe i still will be faster than sprints "unlimited data" anyone else feeling this.
Welcome to the "now network". When i first got my evo last June, I would easily get 1.5-2mbps down all day. Sometime around November of last year, speeds began to drop. Since then, I have NEVER got above 100kbps up or down ever. I have full bars at my house (tower one block away) and still cant get above 100kbps. When I switch to the verizon prl, at home I have 0-1 bars on verizon, and I can still pull 2mbps easily. Sprint's network is just ridiculous.
how to use switch to verizion prl is it safe how does it work any links would be helpful i would love to at least get a meg or so lol... a bit rediculous and sprint wonders why i will never pay my bill on time.
their towers may be down since they are "trying to upgrade" their network to EVDO revB, i have the same issue however the past week there have been "Sprint Rapid Response" Trucks working on the Tower in my area
i have had that issue about a month ago i couldn't make a phone call, recieve a phone call send a text mesage nothing for a 6 days and they told me that it would be up soon and chatted with them and they told me to call a sprint customer service rep and i told them how the hell am i supposed to do that with no phone lol.. bright ass customer service reps we have to work with here on the "now network" NEVER OPERATING NETWORK IMO.

Not exactly. When running the verizon prl, you are ALWAYS on verizon, for calls texts and data. Use it too much and Sprint could charge you and terminate your service.

Again, be careful with it. I only use it once in a while when i'm at work and need to use my phone for things like youtube and such.
don't use that prl, i I used it for a month and my bill came out to 250 dollars, just call sprint data support and have reset your data or to reactivate your handset through their system. it works they did its mine. I was just getting around 200 to 400 kb Max. now its from 1.2 to 2.5. something happens to the phone when you install different rom to ur phone. slow 3g mostly happen to rooted phones....let me know if this work for u

I'm on 25005 which I think is stock, but it works great. Anyone else using another that's bringing in reliable data? I tried 00002 but it cuts data on my often.
11115, it allows roaming on verizon 3g.

I'm on the same one. I would love to put the VZW business (allow 3G roaming) on here, but I have two issues with that: I'm around Chicago, and Sprint and VZW don't have a roaming agreement here, so I'm out of luck even if I could (second issue) force roaming.
So right now I'm 0/2 :crying:

11115 here...metro Detroit area. I haven't really noticed a difference with it. I bought roam control, but haven't set it up cause it apparently doesn't work on this phone from what people have been saying. If I'm in the house near my airrave its fine, but I get 0-2 bars if I go out on the porch, so I usually just stay on WiFi while at home. Seems worse than usual over the last month too. Hopefully that means they've started upgrading the towers around here.....yeah right....:what:

[Q] LTE roll outs

Okay, question here about 4G and 4GLTE, I bought an S3 as an upgrade and enjoy the phone but the 3G only sucks (until LTE rolls out here) so I switched back to my S2 which has 4G. My question is when LTE rolls out here, (been pushed back again and again) will I receive a notification so I will know to switch back, also when LTE goes live what do I have to do to my phone for it to start working on the LTE network? PRL?

I'm one of those whose testing created some of Austin's Sensorly tracks. I think there are several things going on:
1) The number of live LTE towers in Austin and Round Rock is still extremely small and the coverage is thin. Even some of the tracks I recorded, I cannot always replicate later.
2) These sites are still officially in development, so they may go offline sometimes. The tracks you see on Sensorly are not random, but reflect testing deliberately performed by geek enthusiasts to discover the unofficial LTE signals.
3) Sensorly does not record signal strength, only points where it detected any LTE at all. So these tracks may be minimal strength. And the points get extrapolated to fuzzy blobs in the Sensorly map display, which are even worse when zoomed out at all on the website. If your home is inside one of the blobs, that is an overgeneralized anomaly. But somebody probably detected LTE one time on a nearby street.
4) The GS3, even when running the latest LI3 firmware with all the fixes, still has trouble reconnecting to LTE again after it loses the signal. Sometimes I have to stop and toggle the data radio to force it to reacquire 4G.
So overall, GS3 users should not look at today's Sensorly maps of the area and expect them to describe routine LTE service yet.
p.s. If you are serious about tracking the Sprint LTE rollout, don't expect much information in this generalized forum. Go to S4GRU.com.

Agreed PRL 25010 for my device has given me nothing but problems. Starting around the 15th for me my device will periodically will not pass incoming calls to the phone nor incoming texts. All data works fine, all outgoing calls and outgoing texts work fine.
Also tested it on my EVO LTE and same problem happens.. Sprint support sees a high percentage of what they call blcoked calls (calls not making it to my device) and they cant explain it. 11% today, 25% on the 15th. She said anyhting higher then 5% is not good.
Ive already been told by another XDA member that PRL has nothing to do with it. BUT i think thats wrong. All this happened around the time the new PRL dropped. Call it a placebo affect but my data services and signal strenghts are lower across the board lately.
On both the GS3 and EVO LTE, and they both have the PRL 25010.
Taking it with a grain of salt tier 2 tech told me that they have seen a higher volume of issues related to call problems and data issues in areas with network vision and i told her i thought it was related to the PRL and she agreed, but we all know how those calls can go.
Prior to the update i had no service problems and was seeing the fastest 3G speeds ever (in dallas, tx and i get faster 3G and seeing more 4G LTE) I feel like im back on the old sprint network prior to all these updates.
After you updated the PRL, did you update your profile? If not, perhaps that may help.

Yup.. Today we did multiple data resets ##768 what ever the rest of the numbers are..
Did it twice and a few hours after each time im still not getting calls into my device.
I have done profile updates before and after PRL.
Are you in Baltimore area? That would be the only change in native Sprint service between PRLs.
What SID are you connected to? Check your ##debug# screen in the 1x section to find out.

-- "Sensorly or it didn't happen!"
So after doing a lot more research i found out how to load a PRL to my device.
I was on PRL 25010 and am now back on 25009.
Guess what, my data speeds are back up to over 1meg on 3G. (yes that was a sarcastic guess what by the way)
I dont care how many times certain users say that a RPL doesnt affect speeds or connectivity. Call it a placebo affect.
Since 25010 dropped on us i have had nothing but crap tacular data speeds..
I was unable to get over 500k down on the old prl..
3 times now with the 25009 prl i have had 1.12 megs, 1.0 megs, and 975k down.. Ping times are also a lot better..
So problem solved now that i know how to go to an older PRL..

Very nice.. You are on 800SMR which increases coverage of course.
But as you can see there is absolutely zero differences between 25009 and 25010 for that SID:
25010:
SID: 22407 Sprint Nextel - Dallas TX; Longview TX; Lubbock TX; Monroe LA; Paris TX; Shreveport LA; Texarkana TX Prio:Same Roam:None
1X: S/476 S/526
EV: Sprint(0084:0AC0) P/475 P/650 P/550 P/575 P/375 P/75 P/600 P/325 P/175 P/225
25009:
SID: 22407 Sprint Nextel - Dallas TX; Longview TX; Lubbock TX; Monroe LA; Paris TX; Shreveport LA; Texarkana TX Prio:Same Roam:None
1X: S/476 S/526
EV: Sprint(0084:0AC0) P/475 P/650 P/550 P/575 P/375 P/75 P/600 P/325 P/175 P/225
The only recent change Dallas really had was the addition of 800SMR several PRLs back, even before the EVO LTE or S3 was launched. Probably what you are seeing is really Network Vision upgrades and such. Are you running a ROM that has the 3G/1X icon fixed? If not you could actually be on 1X instead due to some of the upgrades. And it is very possible to now only have 1X coverage in areas where you were roaming before. Enjoy the 800SMR... I'm jealous!
On my gs3 and evo lte (I switch back and forth periodically) I noticed a degradation of service from 25009 to 25010.
Both units stock. Non root.
Use the same server for speed test.
Same location. Either my apartment in my tv chair or office at my desk.
I do have mobile signal widget and network signal info to monitor my data connection and strength.
Several months ago my evo lte would get stuck on 1x. But that was several software updates ago. They fixed it. And when it happened I was well aware of it.
I'll enjoy my placebo affect and chalk up the better performance on prl 25009 to colder temperatures. Lol.

4G LTE On Verizon PRL

So this was strange.
Riding the bus in Los Angeles listening to music and surfing the web on my phone when LTE pops up. Now as you can see I have PRL 1 which forces roaming on Verizon towers. I checked my speeds to see if this was indeed true and I was hitting 16mbps+.
This lasted about a minute until I moved out of the area and signal went back to 3G.
Anyone can explain?

That doesn't explain why I don't get LTE signal on the Verizon PRL on spots I know to have Sprint LTE though. For example at home I get a steady LTE signal -although at joke speeds. sometimes I'll be hitting 4mbps other times I'll get lucky if i even hit 1mbps- but I'll still use PRL 1 and not get Sprint LTE.
So was this a glitch that made me jump on Sprint tower although I was on forced roaming?
I think of going back and testing if this happens again. For anyone in LA, this was in Figueroa and Colorado Pasadena, CA

This has been explained numerous times... when you are roaming (on Verizon) but you have an LTE connection, it is two different signals. You are getting EVDO/1xRTT coverage from Verizon and LTE coverage from Sprint... no one on Sprint is roaming Verizon's LTE. Two different frequency spectrums of throughput.

Actually, I think the OP meant it's impossible to grab Sprint's LTE 1900 on a Verizon only PRL. Due to common belief, it's said you must be on a Sprint PRL that has LTE enabled to connect to it. The OP's situation is a rare one.
I wonder if Digiblur can enlighten us here, since I've always believed you needed a Sprint-Only LTE capable PRL to connect to Sprint's LTE network.

Exactly this.
I wasn't aware I could jump to Sprint LTE on a Verizon only PRL considering in areas I do get Sprint LTE coverage, I won't get 4G unless I update my PRL to a Sprint one.
I hit 13mbit near the bathrooms at the universal studios Hollywood Jurassic parking lot the other week. LAX only had 8mbit LTE

I thought there was no roaming agreement for LTE on Verizon

Hes not on Verizon LTE, he was on Sprint LTE. What he was wondering is what @Overstew posted about the "common belief is that you need a Sprint only PRL with LTE enabled to catch LTE" bit

Can't you just check your assigned LTE IP address to see if it was issued by Verizon or not?
I bet if you look at the LTE engineering screens it shows a Sprint PCS G block connection. From what I have seen in the past, you do need a PRL with the MCC/MNC records for that Geo. I have seen the Nexus not need this, probably because it doesn't have a qualcomm chipset.

From what I know.. ..there isn't. He could use roam control to see what carrier he is on.
PRL version 1?

So this was strange.
Riding the bus in Los Angeles listening to music and surfing the web on my phone when LTE pops up. Now as you can see I have PRL 1 which forces roaming on Verizon towers. I checked my speeds to see if this was indeed true and I was hitting 16mbps+.
This lasted about a minute until I moved out of the area and signal went back to 3G.
Anyone can explain?

Will someone please link me to the file for PRL version 1? (assuming this is still the best option) I am in a rural area where Verizon has 4Glte but sprint data sucks. I've searched but can't find it. Also, if I switch to s stock rooted rom, flash it, and then recover my current rom (Eclipse), will the PRL stick or revert back to what it was?
Thanks,

I don't believe that is possible. Verizon and sprint use different frequencies for lte. They only share 3g and 2g frequency.

I found 1,2,3 and a couple others but none of them will give me 3g but I know it's here. I wasn't trying to get 4g, as nice as it would be.
